Forgot to congratulate you Friz on the new shop!

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/09/2007 21:34

Frizbe - cheese scone heading your way!

mrm - sounds like your mind is already made up really - were you just after affirmation ?

Another early start here (5:15am). Wish I knew what was unsettling dd so much.

Off to see The Sound of Music tomorrow. In-laws are going to take dd to Wimpole for the day. We had been hoping to go out for dinner too, but with dd being so unsettled, I think we'll come straight back after the show (going to matinee).
How was Joseph dame?

2boysmacca · 21/09/2007 21:37

Must be an age thing csws, we're having lots of fun and games with ds2. not only is he tantrum king, but he fusses for a few hours at night (we've never had a problem he'd wave from his cot g'night) then screams during the night. I'm thinking he might be scared of the dark but it's very young to start that....

mustrunmore · 22/09/2007 10:34

Nah, we have nighttime traumas too. We're being v bed parents tough, and just letting him come in our bed when he howls in the early hours Going to have to sort it though, as we'd quite like our bed to ourselves nce in a while. There's always at least one extra in with us, other than bewtween when we go (about 9.30pm) and midnight.

Flamesparrow · 22/09/2007 10:56

Trying to do my self assessement...

"Your turnover is the gross amount of your trading receipts. Please also include the full selling price of any goods taken out of the business for your own personal use, or for your family and friends, minus anything you paid into the business for these goods. Any balancing charges will be added to your turnover and the total automatically entered at box 3.24."

So that is everything I have spent out on stock, plus everything I have taken for it?

(Sorry - I will reply to everything else laster, atm I am trying to get this sorted in the hopes they send me some certificate of some sort.... Nat West need my passport (awol), driving licence (maiden name and wrong address) or my self employed tax exemption certificate (non-existent))

Ah well, tis submitted now

Phoenix · 22/09/2007 17:50

I'm back

Lewis is staying at my mums tonight so i've had time to read everything

Here goes:-

Flame - for grandad, I honestly think i'll be a gibbering wreck when Lewis goes to school, Your baby's all growed up . for money/credit card probs are you sorted now.

CSWS - Glad you had a great holiday but for dd's sleeping and feeding still.

Chloe - re your dh. Men!!!

Friz - Yay for shop. You'll be busy busy now then

Mrm - for having xmas sorted. I've got all my cards but as yet only 2 pressies for Lewis (a rocking horse which we've had since before he was born and a pack of Mega Bloks).

Macca - for PT training stuff but not a clue what you're on about.

Macca/mrm - I've got a screamer/tantrum thrower too it must be a boy thing.

Kel - for the date

Jas - Hope your dp has got some work done. Are your dd's better now?

Dame - I never noticed the twin thing with you and Friz lol. Dh watched Heroes on Sky but i never got into it. Love Lost though

Re talking babies - Lew is still only on hiya and dadda with the occasional mamma. at sentences, ds is a loooooooong way from sentences. His ready, steady, go would probably be 'dadda dadda da' cos everything comes out as dada. He likes buses, lorries and motorbikes and always points them out, and says dada, when we're out and about so my mum tried to get him to say bus a few weeks ago she was saying to him 'b-b-b-b-bus' He replied 'da-da-da-da-dad

for the heating not working. Reading that made me go check ours is ok and it is

We had a good holiday but glad to be home. Can't wait to get into my own bed, the one there was like a brick.

Apoligies if i forgot to mention anyone. Hope everyone's ok

Phoenix · 22/09/2007 17:59

Re your grandad Flame I know what you mean about the suffering ending. That's what i thought about my Great-Grandma. She died in 2005 a month before her 95th birthday . I did go see her in hospital before but she was so confused and ill she didn't have a clue who was there, my mum had advised us (me and my 2 brothers) not to go cos of how she was but we wanted to see her but her been so frail and confused is stuck in my head now (((hugs)))

Phoenix · 22/09/2007 19:43

Right for those who are interested i've just finished the border off in Lew's new bedroom so i've took some piccies

This is it before

Before 1 this wall is where the velux window is now - after 1&2. That bannister is now a wall too.

Before 2 (this is how after 4 looked before)

Before 3 (this is after 3 before)

Here it is now. I know the border looks a tit but no one will really see it

After 1

After 2

After 3

After 4

(ignore the dehumidifier i forgot to move it)

I think you'll agree it looks better now

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/09/2007 21:02

Room looks great Phoenix .
Glad you had a good holiday.

Flame - I was going to answer with 'no', but if you've now submitted then I guess someone else already told you that!

Well theatre was great, which is more than can be said for the journey there (road closed en route to station, half the trains to London cancelled, other half late or slow (or both)). Just had time for a quick look round a couple of floors of Hamleys and to grab a McD's for lunch - dh really knows how to treat a girl to dinner out eh ? Connie was very good - glad I voted for her.

mrm - having had a 4 and a nearly 6 year old sitting in front of us at the theatre, can I vote for not the cinema for ds's birthday!!

Jas · 23/09/2007 07:44

I'm slightly sceptical about four year olds in the cinema, too tbh, but the showing mrm is thinking will be a kids matinee, so won't disturb other people. Last time I went to one, we were the only people in the cinema, so I et ds run riot.
If we came to the cinema, I would have to bring ds, and would end up sitting outside in the foyer with him if there were lots of people there tbh. Not a problem for me as the dds are fine on their own.

I would wait til they are older if it was me, but can see the attraction forease and convenienc (and cost). What is the film? Does your ds atually want to see it?

The bedroom looks great Phoenix. I'm sure he will love it.

I spent the day out with the dds yesterday, after a night out with my friends for a late birthday treat. Both were lovely, and dp has earned a few points by having our three and my friends ds on Friday night, and ds all day yesterday. Shame he spoiled it by staying out too late last night. I will make him get up and suffer this morning though

mustrunmore · 23/09/2007 09:15

Well, it'd be like the cinema scene in Gremlins really!ds1 has been to the pics twicwe and was really good both times, although I cant vouch for his friends! Not even sure which film it is yet, as listings only go up to 3rd Nov so far. Butitcould be the birthday weekend or the ones before or after, so we have 3 chances of a decent one. Anyway, we're now favouring th idea of a joint party with his nursery friend(birthdays 4 days apart); half thwe cost half theresponsibility. thinking maybe knights&princesses theme, to cover boys and girls, and hire a small bouncy castle. She can get a cheap hall hire fom the army (about £20 for all day, so we can set up at leisure!)Anyway, it cant be any worse than the shambolic one we went to yesterday! The mum did nothing; wsnt even there when the guests arrived and we all had to get our own chairs out, rearrange the kids tables so they could sit to eat etc e5tc. And one ballooon inflated for 15 kids

Phoenix, the room looks great; you must have such a chuffed feeling when you see those before & afters!

Apparently, I'm in the bad books for sloping off for a lie down midday yesterday, eve nthough he said I should, and the boys were just milling around anyway Obv he didnt tell me thid to my face, just bitched to my friend about it when they went out yesterady(while me and ds12 were at the party)

Glad you liked it csws

Phoenix · 23/09/2007 21:32

My it's quiet on here today. What's everyone up to? I haven't even been dressed today. Lewis was at my parents til 1pm ish so i had a lay in til 10, dh went to Asda on his own, i've got all the holiday clothes, bedding and towels washed, dried and put away (i don't do ironing). Now dh is on nights and Lewis has been in bed since 7 so i'm relaxing with a lager

Yay for dp babysitting Jas, for spoiling his good behaviour.

Lol MRM. He probably didn't think you'd actually go for a lie down even though he told you to, it sounds like something my dh would do.

Oh forgot to say i think i'd give the cinema a miss too with little ones.

Back to work tomorrow afternoon

Phoenix · 23/09/2007 21:50

I just noticed a thread about a 19 month old boy and thought it must be one of us lol.

Flame if you get an answer that works will you pass it on he sounds exactly like Lewis. The climbing on things isn't too bad at the mo but he is climbing more and more. The plug switch flicking on and off sounds familiar though. Another thing he does all the time is turn the telly on and off, he can't do it at home tho cos we don't have a button at the front of ours.

'No' he finds funny even when i've completely lost it and scream it at him. We've talked about a naughty step/spot but i just don't think it would work as he's so young.

mustrunmore · 23/09/2007 21:54

Well, I'll tell you what I'm up to. I tried to wash the buggy covers, to sell it, as I'm a bit skint. It tore the drum seal; unfixable, so now we're without washer dryer, and I'll only get half the price of a new one if I sell the buggy anyway And even if I do order a new one, I need to find somewhere that does Sat delivery, else I'm bound to be on the nursery run and miss it. I'm sooo pissed off. And this might be ds1's birthday party fund that I'm using to buy the new one

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/09/2007 21:57

Hi Phoenix - I'm around .

Had a busy day (as usual). Played at home this morning, then went to Whipsnade this afternoon, via a quick nose at a school that we are considering for dd. Had lovely time at zoo, then home for tea.

I think dd may actually have a canine (or hopefully multiple canines) on the way, which might explain her bedtime screams, and hopefully her odd behaviour over the last few weeks. Goodness knows how much longer before they make it through the gums though.

Yay for dp being good for a change. Hope you made him suffer for his late night this morning .

Sounds like a great party yesterday mrm .

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/09/2007 22:00

mrm.

Phoenix · 23/09/2007 22:02

mrm.

Hi csws

Jas · 23/09/2007 22:21

mrm

I'm around for a bit, I've doe nothing all day - shoppin cooking, cleaning. I even managed to read a bit of my book.

I've just read Flames thread, too. DS spends almost all of his time in our sitting room, with gates on both doors. It is safe, and he makes mess, but can't hurt himself (except for when he fell off the sofa and cut hishead!) He spends alo of time throwing stuff over the gates, but I just let him tbh. He only ever gets to go upstairs to have a bath of go to bed.

I remember before I had ds a friend woth a toddler used to come round and do a sweep of my sitting room moving stuff before she let her dd out of the buggy. I guess you'll have to do the same .

csws - glad you enjoyed your night out....was it your birthday treat?

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/09/2007 22:43

It was afternoon rather than night out Jas, but yes, it was my birthday present .

Phoenix · 23/09/2007 22:44

I was here but got caught up in Facebook again

I'm off to bed now, goodnight all

mustrunmore · 24/09/2007 07:08

Phoexix, you're going to have to tell me what to do with facebok. i just cant get into it. Which is prob a good thing really!

God, it really is winter today. I've just got a 6.30am flit round the garden to put all the toys away and catch all the blowing objects! And getthe washing in, before that blew away too. Thaqnkfully I'd done all our clothes that needed doing before the big breakage yesterday. (New prob; waititng in for delivery even if we can afford to replace it; anyone know a seller with timed slots or saturdays?)

Phoenix · 24/09/2007 07:18

Morning,

The weather is so crap here today. Rain, rain, rain and wind. Dh just got in from work and he's took the dog for a walk so it saves me having to go out in it just yet.

Lew was up at 6 this morning after a slightly unsettled night, hope it's a one off and he's not coming down with something.

Jas · 24/09/2007 07:23

Morning.... no w/m sellers are springing to mind, mrm. I thnk lots do Saturday deliveries thouh.

Very windy here too. I left my rain coat at the Brownies day at the weekend, so I'm hoping it stays dry. I know if I buy one Brown Owl will give me mine back on Wednesday so I'm ot sure what to do . The old one was not very niice, or very waterproof, so maybe time to get a new one.

DD2s birthday tomorrow, so I'm off present shopping this afternoon.
