I've totally cocked up the school run today.I went to collect dd2 at 3, only to find that the club she wanted starts today, not yesterday so left without her. I got home to a phone call from dd1s school telling me her club has been cancelled and doesn't start til next week (She didn't get the letter as she wasn't at school yesterday)
Aaargh!

Luckily they have put her in another club for this week, so I can go back and get them both in 1/2 hour.

mustrunmore · 18/09/2007 16:34

Dont john Lewis do them csws? They def do cotbed sized fitted sheets, as do mothercare. I got ds1's pillow from Ikea, totally randomly as he never used one, but I got it incase he ever did! They do duvets too, but I think they're prob funny ikea sizing like the covers. I've got a spare duvet cover in cotbed size, but I doubt you'd want it as its mainly blue (with teddies all over, bright blue, with a flat sheet too). Actualy, I've got a white set with clowns on, just remembered. Could keep the blue and get shot of the clowns? See, you've got me organising now!
I'm on a mission re bookshelves agin. Dont like the last rearranging I did, so ds1 is having the cupboard we keep our shoes in, that I got off freecycle and told him was gonig to be his anyway then changed my mind so just need a similar bedside thing for ds2 (I like symmetry!). So keep your eyes peeled for bargains please! Friend is going to have the existing thing the books are in, so no wastage. I'm also trying to instil the concert of a pre birthday./xmas toy cull, but I dont think ds1 has taken the hint yet.

Chloe55 · 18/09/2007 17:52

Sorry to hear about your Grandad Flame

Well, I put ds to bed 15mins ago because I have just had about as much as I can take from him today. He has spent all day pushing and shouting at my friend's 14mth old and I have spent all day telling him off!!! Generally he is quite a well-behaved little biy but when other kids are involved he is just a horror Grrrrrrrrr

Jas · 18/09/2007 18:47

CHLOE - FRUSTRATING, AND SOMETIMES EMBARRASING, BUT COMPLETELY NORMAL, I THINK. DS IS GREAT WITH OLDER CHILDREN BUT DOES EXACTLY THE SAME AS YOURS with other babies.

Sorry about caps. Shows how often I look up when I'm typing

The whole house is a tip. How does it go downhilss so quickly?

mrm - don't wait for ds to take the hint. Put all the stuff you want to get rid of in a binbag and hide it while he is at nursery. Anything he hasn't missed in the next couple of weeks goes to the charity shop/freecycle/wherever.

Flamesparrow · 18/09/2007 18:50

Breathing easier, more comfortable but still no idea of long term prognosis.

Is it bad that part of me just wants him to stop suffering?

Will try n reply to proper stuff in a bit - huge business money cock up and panicking on top of the worrying so not really with it.

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 18/09/2007 19:19

Flame, I'm sure csws will help with your money cock up as she'll at least know what to do.Not like me,, who knows nothing about business!

Jas, I do get rid of stuff like that. But a)I'm talking big and noticable things and b)he mentions things that I got rid of 18 months ago

got a very odd problen tonight; for no apparent reason, my front room reeks of socks. Its very overpowering, andf nohing has helped so far(carpet mousee, febreze on sofa, hoovering). What isit?

Frizbe · 18/09/2007 19:54

Sounds like a lost sock to me and or even yuk emoticon! either that or has something crawled in and died?
MRM feeling crap here too, on honey and orange for scratchy throat...grump, also got some antihistimine/bacterial and fungal stuff from dr's this am, as wore a new (£8) top for Sainsburys (oh the height of sophistication) on saturday, without washing it first and damn we think I'm allergic to the dye.....I've been ignoring the increasing rash under my arms until this am...

Jas yay for architrave

Flame, glad GD doing ok, what money cockup?

Chloe, dd2 has been like that today, so she went to bed at 6pm too! asserting herself, sigh.....

So bar that we signed for the shop today, hurrah should get the keys tomorrow, then the work begins....argh!

Flamesparrow · 18/09/2007 20:12

for your itching

for lost sock

Money cock up is that the business account wouldn't let me have a debit card, so I was doing it all on credit card and transferring etc, I did a couple of wholesale orders on the credit card too (went with the theory that it was a loan I had to pay off in 12 months - which I was doing). Turns out I f*cked up with the credit card and it was only 0% purchases for 12 months in TESCO - it was THREE months for everywhere else - so I have had interest whacked on (a lot), which took me up to my limit - the limit thing isn't a huge deal because I had a whole load transferring from paypal to pay off, but it is in that lovely void from paypal to my bank account/bank account to credit card (made a payment from one transfer, have another coming etc). I am waiting to hear back about an account with natwest instead - thoroughly pissed off with HSBC (not just the no debit card thing), also waiting to hear back about a different 0% card so I can transfer that which is outstanding.

But... (If you're still with me I am impressed) it means that I can't go with my whole 0% loan set up, so I can't get any new stock at all until I have paid off the card/built up the funds, people are wanting the stuff from America, but I can't ask for 100% payment up front for a nappy they will have to wait about 6 weeks to get - and 50% won't cover my costs if I can't get enough sales to cover the minimum order. I also can't do my hallowe'en plans which I was all excited about

It isn't a huge deal, it will all be sorted eventually, but in the meantime it all feels pretty cr*ppy, I'm angry with myself for cocking it up like this, and I am worrying that I will lose the customer base that I have started to get because I can't get the orders that they want

Betcha glad you asked now

On the plus side, my amount of orders and amounts taken each month are steadily going up so it is generally a when I can get on top of the initial money (or lack of) hiccups. Oh, and I need to do my self assessment and I am too nervous to open the form

Yay for shop keys

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 18/09/2007 20:17

Ah, ok So its to do with credit cards; somethin else I have no knowledge of.

Er, all my napppies are in the same wash load and the door wont open... now what do I do then Flame?

Flamesparrow · 18/09/2007 20:23

Get the door to open

I'd forgotten to post em anyway!!

OP posts:
Frizbe · 18/09/2007 20:36

Oh which reminds me if you get any orders from Derbyshire, that'll be me sticking your cards in the major softplay place in the nice area round here last week! 1st time I've been there since we met up in July

Damn the bleedin HSBC, glad your heading for another bank though, which like you say should get it sorted, that's the bother with credit cards! I still recommend LLoyds TSB as a bank though, they've been great with us once again!! although they own our asses now!

Frizbe · 18/09/2007 20:44

rite, feeling crap, off to bed, nite.

2boysmacca · 18/09/2007 20:52

Flame, I take it you mean your tax return self assessment. For goodness sake, do it online, it really is incredib;y easu and far less complicated. You also have much longer to do it as effectively you are working out your own tax.

ds2 still up

Flamesparrow · 18/09/2007 21:06

lol yup - was brave and went onto the site - I have to wait 7 days for a pin number lmao

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 18/09/2007 21:19

Sadly not Jas. She still wants to feed constantly, and despite the initial success with sleeping through on Saturday night, we've had 2 broken nights since.

I'm not planning on moving her to a bed, but she likes pulling duvets and blankets over herself when she's playing, so I thought I might try and get her used to those in anticipation. Got them from John Lewis in the end (had already gone out by the time you posted mrm). Wanted yellow covers, but they didn't have any, so got just white in the end. White with clowns would have been great. Unfortunately she screamed blue murder and insisted on having her sleeping bag back, and wouldn't even lie down with the pillow still in the cot. So much for that plan then .

Hope poorly peeps are feeling brighter soon.

Bugger re credit card cock up. Does seem daft to have an account with no debit card. Could you set up a paypal account linked to the business account and pay for stuff that way?

Flamesparrow · 18/09/2007 21:48

I need a card to pay for the things I buy, and can't do that with paypal (which is already set up to go to the business account). Tis all bloody stupid, hence the move.

Nat West choice is partly due to the offers, and partly because it is a good location

DS looooooves his blankets, he'll be miffed to have a duvet I think - he likes the weight. I got DD's stuff from toys r us

OP posts:
Jas · 18/09/2007 22:18

OK. I did read everything, but after 1 glass of wine, my brain is too frazzled to emember anything.

I do dps tax online, Flame. "tis easy I really should submit this years....Idid it al ages ago and didn't click the submit button.

DS won't have any overs on him, ever. I have thick fleece sleepsuits in anticipation of the winter already. DD2 still sleeps on top of the bed. They have obviously inherited their fathers wam blood. I have the duvet tucked in all round me in the summer.
We tried out ou heating this evenin and it doesn't work. DP has got upstairs working by bleeding all the rads but reckons he will have to drai it all to clear the downstairs ones. Another job to add to the huge list of stuff for him to do.

2boysmacca · 19/09/2007 07:12

Jas about your heating. I put ours on this morning and am surprised it's working. I am constantly calling out British Gas to come and mend it!

Terrible night here. Ds2 didn't go back to bed until 9.30 and even then he was moaning. He woke at 12 and 1.30 and then screamed the place down at 4.20. I finally settled him at 5.30 but then dh ahd to get up, I was praying he didn't wake him. I managed to fall back to sleep about 6 but was woken at 6.30 by dh as he was leaving for work and ds was up and watching milkshake. I was very tempted to tell him to lock the front door so I could sleep some more. Bad, bad mother.

I have my parents coming for the day but I think I'll take them to softplay for a few hours first.

I have to go to nursery this morning as I left all ds's belongings there yesterday

Frizbe · 19/09/2007 21:20

{{{Hugs}}} for the bad night Macca

CSWS ahhh was wondering about trying dd2 with pillow and duvet wondering whether to leave it a bit now? she keeps doing the half hanging out of the cot thing until she screams herself to sleep though, so not too sure I'll be able to keep her in the cot much longer anyway

Jas for heating, was surprised ours worked, although I did loose all hot water for the 1st hour or so, it seems to have sorted itself out for now (this is good as you may remember we had to get it fixed only last year!)

MRM have you sorted your bookcase?

Hi to everyone else, can you all shout at me on Monday to do the VAT return please!

We got the shop keys today very exciting stuff, now gotta get it fitted out as fast as possible, shame it took so long to get sorted, as dh has to go back to work tomorrow, so nothing will get done until Saturday minimum, unless it rains really hard on friday Can I do a rain dance, just this once?

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/09/2007 22:18

Oh very exciting Frizbe. Remind me again what you're going to be selling?

Busy day here. Toddlers this morning and visiting friends this afternoon, and then reflexology for me this evening.

Just vegging in front of the tv for half an hour now before bed.

Jas · 20/09/2007 06:57

COMICS?

mustrunmore · 20/09/2007 08:16

Exciting but a bit daunting Frizbe! Er, yep, sorted the shelves ta. Totally ignored you and went for £7.99 shoe rack; perfect height and width!

Right, does anyone want to explain toys r us to me? Went with a friend last night. She spent £104 , I spent nothing, but I had a loyalty card thing from ages ago. Asked if it was still valid etc; yes; used it; advised to change address as still in old address so have missed out on 100 points in the post (whatever that means). Completed transaction and was told I was due a bonus gift. Got fairly excited. £104 spend must be worth ........... two small tins of baked beans! WTF??!!??
Ds2 is lobbing dry cornflakes all over the kitchen now

Had a good bedtime last night apparently (I wouldnt know, I was at the toyshop!)

Chloe55 · 20/09/2007 09:00

PMSL at 2 tins of beans, firstly the stingy gits and secondly......beans??!!

Ooooh shop keys - it's real now Friz!

I am so today. Dh went to a friends to watch footie last night and came home wasted, not that I was bothered as I had friends over and we polished off a few bottles of wine ourselves. Anyway, obviously we are both a little worse for wear this am but, as we all know, that has to go by the wayside when kids are involved. So, ds woke this am at 6.30 - he played in his cot for about 15mins then shouted to get out. I went into him to get him up and ready. Normally, one of us gets him other whilst the other makes up a bottle and does brekkie. DH was still in bed once ds was ready so I told him to start brekkie.

Dh decided that he was gonna have another 5mins, I said ok and made up the bottle myself. Then started breakfast. By which point dh had come downstairs and plonked himself on a seat! I proceded to do all the food and then fed the animals.

After breakfast dh had a lay down on the sofa whilst I packed ds a bag and washed his face, brushed his teeth. Dh came upstairs, had a complete strop that he was late for work and that he wasn't taking ds to nursery I am still in my pjs due to spending all morning sorting both of them out. I told him that it wasn't my problem he decided to be late and that he had to take ds. He then told me I had loads of time to take him before I start work and I was only gonna slob on the internet and do f* all anyway!!!!!!!!!

Now, I know I am on the internet but purely because I have to vent my frustration at him for being such an ungrateful nob!! This house is always immaculate when he gets home, his tea is always on the table, his washing is always done, I also go to work (granted not for as long) and look after our child when I'm not there! He has made me soooooooooo mad, to even suggest I am a lazy cow . as he was leaving I calmly said that unless I get a phonecall with an apology he can make his own tea this week and he can do his own washing and I won't be lifting a finger to clean this house.

Wow, sorry, if you have got to here without shutting off then well done you

Chloe55 · 20/09/2007 09:01

After all that I forgot to say that ds has a pimply rash all over his face - on his eyelids aswell, he has been grumpy for a couplke of days but is right as rain this am, do you reckon it might be a heat rash or something?

Flamesparrow · 20/09/2007 09:39

with your DH. No idea with rashes.

pmsl @ the beans too.

Please can someone kick me and tell me to get a grip?! First day of nursery, fine, not a problem, first day of school - I welled up a little, but was fine... Today she kissed me mid playground and went in alone (ALL the other kids, even the really bolshy ones in her class still have parents at least taking them to the classroom door).

I sobbed like a baby on the way back to the car

Ok, I am very tired - can I blame that and not that I have turned into obsessive clingy mum?
