Could we do secret santa using facebook? Are we all on the June Babies Group now? We could all email our addresses to someone and then their DH or DP could do the picking out of a hat and email everyone back with a name and address? I'll happily do it

riabutterflew · 17/09/2007 14:08

glad you aren't offended faylisa, my ds gets mistaken for a girl all the time - even in blue stuff with trucks on. some people haven't got a clue

hope you soon feel better daisy

foxy, i can't find you to invite you, will keep trying. jamantha i think i have sent you a friend invite.

secret santa sounds fun - i LOVE xmas shopping. will we shop for mummies or los?

daisyandbabybootoo · 17/09/2007 14:11

hi faylisa, I hope you had a nice holiday...sorry I didn't say hello yesterday (or was it Saturday?). My brain is too fuggy to remember much about this weekend!

riabutterflew · 17/09/2007 14:16

what is it with men & drs dg? they go once then they are there all the time! well done for being nice - i am now losing patience/getting taken over by anxiety, but more moaning about that later

am very of all the jobs done by everyone else today and i' actually having a good day! so far have changed and washed bed linen, nearly finished the washing up i didn't get done yesterday because of the univited guests, fed lo and taken ds2 back to nursery after dh brought him home as he couldn't even get in the door with him!

i actually want to go back to bed...

good luck with your mystery shop jmb, i was too scared to apply when i read the bit about "training". which company did you go with?

daisyandbabybootoo · 17/09/2007 14:25

DH has now taken the plumber into the loft ????

Charlie999 · 17/09/2007 14:36

Hi Faylisa - glad holiday was good

First tooth - wow

Still trying to motivate myself to do something....

foxybrown · 17/09/2007 14:39

Do you have a water tank in your loft?

My house is a tip. How can one 2 yo be such an untidy whirlwind.

I'm off to be Velma now.

foxybrown · 17/09/2007 14:40

That question was for Daisy. I'm not asking generally who has a water tank in their loft. Don't think I'm that dull yet.

Charlie999 · 17/09/2007 14:40

Ria - sent you a FB message

trendaverter · 17/09/2007 14:53

exhausted

tyres are now aligned
weekly shopping is done
contracts signed for childminder (she want's 1/2 her usual fees for our holidays! is that normal?!)
just ate lunch

now to unload the shopping and tidy the house....

secret santa is good for me too btw!

daisyandbabybootoo · 17/09/2007 14:53

Ah ha....he was getting some advice on our dodgy heating system.

Charlie999 · 17/09/2007 14:55

Blimey TA - you've been busy.

I have to pay full fees for nursery whether DD goes or not - even for bank holidays when they aren't open . You pay for the place not attendance!

Charlie999 · 17/09/2007 14:55

Free advice I hope?

daisyandbabybootoo · 17/09/2007 15:06

yes advice was free...we now have a quote for a new heating system though!

Charlie, I don't think they should charge for bank holidays...that is outrageous

we had to pay 75% for our holidays, but nothing when the nursery was closed...ie bank holidays and 2 weeks at Christmas.

I think our childminder we had to pay the full amount, but as we never had holidays during term time it wasn't an issue. If we used her in the school holidays we were only charged for the time DS was there.

trendaverter · 17/09/2007 15:41

ok so it IS normal then...

justbeme · 17/09/2007 15:51

Glad you got on ok at Drs Daisy.
Just back from Boots - as another thread on here suggested Mooncups were down to 50p from £20 - not at my Boots they aint! - and then to supermarket.

Ria, I went with Retail eyes -mystery shopping thanks for that TA i'll let u know how i get on!

justbeme · 17/09/2007 15:56

oh btw - seen an advert for little lambs nappies - size 1 - L is about 12 - 13 lbs now, any 1 whose used them do you reckon they would fit up to 20lbs or are they snug?
Seller states that some of the velcro needs restitching - do you reckon it would be easy to re-do?

daisyandbabybootoo · 17/09/2007 16:02

jbm, little lambs size 1 should do up to around 9mo, so you will have plenty of wear out of them. DD has a couple and I've just bought some more and at 13lbs she is still on the smallest velcro setting, so lots of growing room.

There are lots for sale on ebay, like this kit. I don't know how much the ones you've been looking at are, but these are new and at a good price at the moment. If you watch this and not bid too quickly, you might get a bargain.

daisyandbabybootoo · 17/09/2007 16:03

I saw that thread jbm....I'm tempted at 50p to give it a go!

loonylovegood · 17/09/2007 16:18

Afternoon!

Daisy, glad you got on ok at the drs. Are you feeling a bit better?

Do you want me to sort out the pushchair courier today? I've just dug the box out of the garage, so it is ready to go!

JBM, Little Lambs are great. My ds is just coming up to being too big for them, but he is about 17lbs now, so size 1 should last you a couple more months yet. If I were you I would completely unpick the velcro and use them with nippas. The velcro is a bit dodgy on them!

justbeme · 17/09/2007 16:18

Daisy thanks for that
shes selling 20 nappies/ 5 wraps and 4 boosters for £26 inc postage - is that good? what do u reckon re the velcro?

daisyandbabybootoo · 17/09/2007 16:18

PS....JBM, a similar kit sold yesterday for £47

Good deal JBM! Go for it. I paid £30 for 13 LLs, so that is a great price.

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 17/09/2007 16:25

If the velcro is coming off, you can always unpick all of it and use a nappy nippa.

It sounds like a good price, but if the velcro is coming undone I would worry about how nice a condition they are in. The 2nd hand ones I got were very well used, but the velcro is still intact.

Holly, I'm feeling better thanks. the flueyness is going, and my boob isn't as red as it was, but the blockage is still there and I still have a red patch. I can feel pea sized lumpy bits. I'm feeding and massaging etc but it just isn't clearing.

Now we have water I'll try a hot bath tonight.

I'll do the paypal payment in a bit for you holly....got to do homework with DS right now.
