OW! sounds nasty DG. How long til he can do the dishes again? might be a good time to mention a dishwasher.

two children, check (baby washed, dressed and fed x2; DD1 fed washed and dressed as far as she wants to)
Boys at school, no lunch pick up, only 1 afternoon pick up, must remember to get DS2 from playdate by 6pm
I am showered and dressed, 2 loads of washing done, bacon rolls made and eaten all round, shed sorted, car insurance sorted, conservatory tidied.

somethings not right though ...

foxybrown · 17/09/2007 11:58

I don't think we know 10 people to have to dinner, am seriously impressed! Agree, you ARE a Domestic Goddess.

bumperlicious · 17/09/2007 12:23

Wow foxy, you are a true yummy mummy. So far I have managed to feed DD and get dressed. Oh and eat my lunch an hour ago!

justbeme · 17/09/2007 12:28

I was up at 6ish afyer DD's feed expressing and then I decided to get up with my DP at 6.45 - I normally sleep in with DD until 10ish!!
so so far Ive:
Cleaned worktops/shined my shiny sink!/done 2 loads washing and hung out/walked dog/done ironing/put ironing away/hoovered downstairs - I bet im knackered by tonight!!

Charlie999 · 17/09/2007 12:30

Blimey DG - don't think I have ever cooked for 10 people!

You DH isn't having a good time of it ATM is he? Poor thing

Agree with Foxy....a dishwasher is definately the way to go....how do you cope without one??

Foxy - how do you achieve so much....what have I done today ....fed DD twice...cleaned up sick loads of times off her and me...washed and dressed her...washed and dressed myself (just), dropped off in front of Homes under the hammer and taken paracetamol for a crappy headache...not doing very well am I ?

Charlie999 · 17/09/2007 12:31

Bloody hell JBM - think I'd better go and do something ....oh its luchtime...perhaps after lunch

bumperlicious · 17/09/2007 12:36

I'm going to go and try these on today. Hoping the high waist will hide my tummy. That or I won't be able to get into them and I'll cry!

Charlie999 · 17/09/2007 12:39

They'll look great Bumper

God I'm getting old....everything is so 1970s at the moment and you know what they say...if you done it the first time....you're too old the second time.....

foxybrown · 17/09/2007 12:42

Love those jeans Bumper! I'd love to be able to wear those, but have v short legs.

Charlie, I have short spurts of energy. I still sat on my arse and watched Homes under the Hammer too.

And I have a baby who has slept through for a while now so have no excuse. Believe me, if I could do nothing, I would.

JBM did L have any reaction to jabs? My lo had hers on same day, she seems a bit grumpier than usual, but not much else yet.

justbeme · 17/09/2007 13:04

no real reaction foxy - abit of a cry that night when normally happy and that night she didnt sleep as well - but thats about it!

im going out on thurs eve to a local pub on my 1st mystery shopping job! only get a free drink and £5 mind - but i can but try!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 17/09/2007 13:07

Hello...back from the docs. I've got antibiotics and am feeling very sorry for myself.

It hurts like f***, especially when she is feeding.

I got the wraps I won on ebay today....the listing said "one size" which usu means birth to potty, but they are a small (up to 14lbs). Although they fit her, they are very snug and won't fit for much longer. I'm gutted as one is pink tie dye and is lovely

Have contacted the seller about their misleading listing.

Oh, and the secret santa idea gets my vote

foxybrown · 17/09/2007 13:17

JBM - a free drink is a free drink! Not to be sniffed at.

Daisy, you need to rug up and get cosy me thinks. Is DH going to do the school run? Can he take DS out for tea and give you a few good hours?

Jamantha · 17/09/2007 13:17

Am and about how much some of you have got done. I've fed and cleaned DD as and when necessary; taken her to a mums & baby thing; washed a load of nappies (which I must hang up to dry); pulled out and replaced plugs on various computer gadgets until internet worked again; and had lunch. No chance of doing much more than hanging up nappies, putting more washing on, and writing shopping list this pm, all other time will be feeding, changing, holding or playing with DD. I'm OK with that but am amazed at how people do otherwise.

foxybrown · 17/09/2007 13:19

That's loads Jamantha!

I am soooo bored.

Charlie999 · 17/09/2007 13:22

Oh glad you've been Daisy and hopefully it won't take long for the antibiotics to kick in - sounds like shit

All this housework stuff - I still haven't done anything....my short bursts of energy are usually between 4 - 5.30pm just before DH gets home from work...wouldn't want him to think I don't do anything all day ...what really annoys me is that I never used to be like this!

Charlie999 · 17/09/2007 13:27

BTW Secret Santa is a great idea. Who will organise?

Jamantha · 17/09/2007 13:27

We have a short burst late pm too Charlie. Do a bottle for DD, tidy up lunch things, empty and/or load dishwasher if DD doesn't get too bored and stroppy, start tea preparation if she's still happy. Can normally get all that in in half an hour.

Jamantha · 17/09/2007 13:33

not sure how SS works in a group like this - can't bring round a hat with people's names in after all. depending on how it will work I am happy to organise if i can

Marslady was kind enough to allocate swappees when we did the ante-natal secret shower. It was lovely, everyone put so much thought into it.

daisyandbabybootoo · 17/09/2007 13:56

DD's tooth has erupted . She was sitting happily chuntering to herself in her chair....then just let out the most almightly wail and it took ages to calm her down. She's now gurgling again and we've had a prod and you can feel the hard edge of it.....

We did a secret baby shower back in April and the lovely Marslady organised it for us. Basically we emailed our names and addresses to her and she then organised who was sending to who and e-mailed us with a name and address. It meant that we were all in on the secret....maybe if we asked her nicely she would do it again, or I could rope in my DH.

It was such a lovely thing to do and the pressies were ace

We have now accepted defeat and called in a plumber to sort out the toilet. DH has accepted his plumbing limitations, LOL.

I wish he would hurry up though as I need the loo!

foxybrown · 17/09/2007 13:58

Hey! 'our' first tooth!

faylisa · 17/09/2007 14:02

Hi all. I've caught up a bit but couldn't read it all!

No problem about mistaking DD for a boy Ria - she's often mistaken for a boy, even when she's wearing pink! I think it's because her hair is so short and she mostly wears trousers

Daisy - hope you feel better soon. if it doesn't clear in a day or so go back to the docs as they tend to give you quite weak antibiotics first time. I had it 3 times with DD and each time I needed a second dose. Hope it clears soon as it is miserable.

Bumper - hope you are feeling a bit more cheery? I found that i met more mummys once DD was about 6 months and I started taking her to baby groups and 'classes' like monkey music or jo jingles - and going for coffees with other Mums afterwards

And as for all you domestic goddesses.... I think I might have to get off here and go and put my head in the oven!

I'm up for Secret Santa

faylisa · 17/09/2007 14:04

First tooth - Wow that is exciting!!!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 17/09/2007 14:04

DG, that's such a lovely thought x.

DH is running around after me today at least.

Your kitchen woes sound bad though. There's nothing worse than hot water on burns....and I PMSL at the getting your DH put down comment!
