Hi All!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
babyducky · 06/11/2007 18:08

kirsten is a nice name mazmack,

hey rumpel, got my fingers crossed for you too!!!

princessllama · 06/11/2007 20:24

hello mazmack.
happy birthday gingeme. sorry i missed anna and kai's birthdays. amazing kai is already starting to run. lo is trying to run but ends in disaster-lots of sore noses as she hits the decks forgetting to put her hands out because she's nicked off with her grandpa's tv remotes yet again!
samsmam, hope you both recover soon. sounds crap about your illness warning. remember when i was signed off work how disgustingly intolerant they were-really took the p., esp. as was an osteopathic charity, you'd think they would have been sympathetic about back problems. when lo gets colds they last for ages and ages. have you tried cutting down milk temporarily or replacing with goats milk? can really help some kids with ear nose and throat stuff. prob. last thing you'd want to do now i know.
crossing my fingers for you rumpel. i remember all the testing and retesting and retesting...

taffy101 · 06/11/2007 21:26

Wow, rumpel, rooting for you here...

Welcome mazmack!

samsmam - sounds like you are having a terrible time atm. Hope samantha is feeling better soon (and you) I bet you could do without work probs too.

Took owen to his clinic today (re scalding incident) and i was in trouble for not 'stretching the scar' enough. I thought i'd been really merciless with him but apparently i've got to try harder. Is so stressful for him though and I've got to do it 3 times a day and he still has to wear a horrible lycra vest type thing too. It has been 6 months since it happened now. Healthwise he is fine and it doesn't bother him but it is a long way to complete recovery, and on average the vest has to be worn for 20 months. Well, thats my winge over with, just needed to get it out of my system

gingeme · 06/11/2007 21:47

Fingers crossed Rumple
Samsam hope all is well in your household soon.
babyducky its amazing how quickly they get on their feet isnt it? No stopping him now
Well Ive been spoilt today. Dh bought me a lovely birthday cake too which the boys helped me blow out the candles at tea time. Booked lo's jabs today. Theyre on the 20th. Good job I asked though as they had no record of him being due one
Had ds3's feet looked at. They are very very flat. He is going to see a childrens foot specialist. He has a realy horrid tickly cough too but not alot the doc can do about that. He said just let it run its course.
Oh well Im off to bed soon. xx

mazmack · 07/11/2007 10:12

Hi Taffy,

Sorry to hear about your son's burn. It must be hard to have to stretch his skin. My DD has eczema and we have to cream her and put bandages on twice a day and even that is a struggle!!

Hi princessllama

Rumpel · 07/11/2007 10:19

Hi All,

GINGEME - my hubby has the flattest feet EVER! I am sure he should have had built up shoes when he was a child. Means that he is very noisy on his feet - thump thump. They might just make him arch supports to waer for a few years. Try massaging his feet with cream/oil after his bath to improve blood flow and joint mobility. He might be tickly at first but he will enjoy it eventually.

TAFFY - sorry to hear about your LO. Have you tied massaging the area with vitmain E oil? It is excellent for scarring. You could add 1 drop of pure lavender essential oil to it (helps repair skin). If you massage it regularly it improves blood flow, skin regeneration and reduces the chance of having a keloid (bumpy) scar, even helps the scar to fade. After my Dh's accident he had to have major leg surgery resulting in staples up his leg and a big scar running through his knee. I massaged the area nearly every day for about 6 months and you can't even seee the staple scars now. The one on his knee is quite visible but it would have been really keloid if I hadn't massaged it. The proof is that the scars I couldn't get to to massage are keloid.

BABYDUCKY how is your work colleague these days?

PRINCESS - How is living with your parents? Helpful for child care during your PG?

Lo is not even standing herself yet so no walking here as yet. Thankfully her teeth have calmed down and we were all sleeping for 9pm last night. I feel like a new woman today and thoroughly motivated to get on with Uni work

MMR booked for Tuesday - bit anxious about that one.
Must go ................

OP posts:
Rumpel · 07/11/2007 10:21

SAMSMAM - probably sound like a right no it all to everyone today but I found homeopathy really helpful when I used to get tonsillitis. Have you thought about that for LO?

OP posts:
mazmack · 07/11/2007 10:39

Rumpel - good luck for the MMR. I managed to head off any crying after Kirsten's HIB booster on Monday by presenting her with a sparkly necklace to examine just as the crying started! She has her MMR in a few weeks. I am also stressing about it but was really sick with measles when I was a baby so it's worth it!

Glad you got a sleep.

Kirsten is sleeping wonderfully at night at the moment but will not nap in the afternoon at all, and if she does she wakes herself up with getting her feet stuck through cot bars and won't go back to sleep, then by bathtime she is in a foul mood and screaming her head off until she goes to bed, which is rare for her as she is a sweet tempered wee thing usually!!

samsmam · 07/11/2007 11:44

LO is just left with the 'thick' part of the cold now, I did notice her 9th and 10th tooth have just broken through and they are the first double ones. it must hurt bad enough with toothache!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Rumpel.

Got a GP appointment in the morning, see what he says about my work situation. I'll be leaving for maternity leave in 6 weeks anyway. Leaving at 30 weeks because of ill health. I wonder if I'll go back for that 6 weeks. The way i feel I doubt it!

Taffy, must be hard work struggling with creams and bandages, it is bad enough nappy changing at the moment here. She hates it!

Good thing is, I have my voice back!!

mazmack · 07/11/2007 12:04

The creams and bandages are a bit of a nightmare as its like wrestling a slippery octopus

Rumpel · 07/11/2007 13:55

Me again
It is a conspiracy to stop me doing any work on this * stupid dissertation. Spent the morning at the Docs after a call form nursery to say Amber had a spreading rash. I noticed she had aspotty bum but put it down to teething and wearing disposables (usually use terries) but was spreading rapidly at nursery. Seems she has a virus (they think) so just have to keep aneye on her. She is fine and into everything as usual.

SAMSMAM - are you still feeling blue? have they given you any meds?

OP posts:
gingeme · 07/11/2007 14:25

Hi everyone.
Rumpel my ds2 has very flat feet too and was fitted with in sole things and given stretches to do every day which as far as I know he still does. The gp said hes glad Ive caught ds3's early as in there teenage years it can realy start to affect their knees and hip joints where they over compensate while walking.
We gave lo a bottle of water while we were shopping today. You know the ones with the pop up lid? He was saturated by the time we finnished. Then on the way home he fell asleep after doing a thunderous pooh. Joy changing a sleeping, wet, smelly baby. Hes asleep now in his cot in his nappy and sleep bag.
Wow samsam your lo has double teeth coming through already! Lo is just cutting hi two either side of hi bottom front ones. Shes doing well How is her throat now? I realy feel for you dealing with tonilitis. All I can say if she suffers with it more than 4 times a year ask for them to be taken out. Im so glad I did with ds3.
Anyway Ive just finnished decorating ginger bread men with ds3 and he keeps asking if they are dry yet so better scoot.
Take care all xxx

babyducky · 07/11/2007 15:29

RUMPEL- What work colleague? Are you getting me mixed up with someone else?
Hope ambers rash is ok, kai has been poorly the last few days, think he got a bug, been non stop poo & sick everywhere!

PRINCESS- kai tries to run when we try to get the tv remotes off him!! He does it for few seconds then falls over, lol, he loves anything like remotes, he is also forever grabbing dps xbox controls & his phone!

samsmam · 08/11/2007 13:42

babyducky- i have the same trouble with remote controls and dp can always tell if LO has moved his xbox controller. he tells me don't let her play with it! I mean its only a games console- lol.

just back from GP and I have been signed off till the end of december now so no returning to work for me- part of me is relieved but sad to have left my NHS job of 10 years like this. never mind i'm going to have my two beautiful girls.

Samantha has the devil in her at the moment. She put my mobile in my mash potato thats just one thing in a long list!! Bless her.

mum23boyz · 08/11/2007 15:42

Hi ladies!

Can i join you too? I have a little boy called Logan who was born Oct. 6. He is 13 months going on 13! I blame it on his big brothers who are 8 and 11. I am an ex-pat living in Florida at the moment, but would love to return to the UK someday. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

EffiePerine · 08/11/2007 15:46

Hi everyone . Samsmam: hope you get the result you want with work and your GP. It's an awful time to have to deal with more stress . Roll on the beginning of your maternity leave!

Have prob missed loads, but hope everyone and their LOs are doing well. DS is running everywhere as well as climbing and shouting . He's cutting 2 molars at the moment so we're having a fun time .

gingeme · 08/11/2007 16:10

Welcome mum23boyz
Hi effie long time no hear! Sounds like your lo is running you ragged. Bit much like the rest of them on here by the sound of it.
Yes our lo has an obsession with remote controls. Have to put them on the pc desk all the time because thats the only place he cant reach at the moment. His new game is 'ta' he hands you things and you have to say ta then you hand it back to him and he says ta. Its lovely till about the 30th time then its a little wearing.
Just 9 weeks to go till baby comes now. Feeling very heavy now and backs starting to hurt now too. Still its definately last time now dh has had his snip
Cant believe some of your lo's have molars on the way already.
Gonna have to have another meet up soon. Ill get some dates sorted and see what we can arrange. Would love to see you again.
Take care all xxx

EffiePerine · 08/11/2007 16:11

9 weeks????

Where has the time gone? Are you having another home birth?

gingeme · 08/11/2007 16:27

No Im having a waterbirth at hospital like I did with ds3. Found it alot better and easier if you can say that about giving birth
Mind you if this one is as quick as Edward it might just come while Im at home. Oh imagine that? Dh would have to deliver the baby. Scary thought realy.

samsmam · 09/11/2007 18:40

Welcome mum23boyz.

princessllama · 09/11/2007 19:42

good news re work samsmam.
cant believe you've only got that long to go gingeme. i am in denial til we move into our house -dust and builder free-hah, likely...horrible with the urge to nest having seen the house this morning with the whole of the downstairs a no go zone.
rumpel, yes we're at my dads til at least mid jan. not going too bad this week after last weeks hiccup when he took the dog out for a walk on babysitting duty.
i managed to get a chafed bottom from sitting in the sandpit in freezing cold this afternoon. really cold.
have just done my homepage with picture of hope on that we're going to use for xmas card-do you think it's ok having it on the public bit? won't be accessed by sickos will it?

Rumpel · 09/11/2007 20:03

Awww - Princess she is adorable and gorgeous!
How are you feeling not working now? I am very happy to not be working - there is no way I could manage it at the mo'.

I hope sickos won't access as I have quite a few of my sausage on mine!

GINGEME - I cannot believe that is all you have left to go - are the other thread memebers lovely like us? [preen]
How are your Scottish boys getting on?

BABYDUCKY - hmm I thought it was you who was unhappy at work but now I come to think of it it was YOUNGMUM. Sorry!

Our conservatory starts on Monday - agg! Builders and dust, and the rest of the furniture from our old house arrives (took ages to sell because of the current jittery market), our tv aerial fell down yesterday too. My dissertation is just not happening at the mo' with LO being unwell, although she is much better today but very clingy just now, and I've only got 2 weeks to complete it[PANICemoticon]

Did a predictor test yesterday morning at 4am (was wide awake so got up and did the ironing for 2 hours)It was negative but it was with Amber too, so I shall wait until Sunday. Made me begin to doubt myself though - but my boobs are VERY sensitive and my DH's spray deodorant is making me wanna barf. Same one he has worn for years but it always smells really different to me when pg -oooh the anticipation is horrid.

Well enjoy your weekend everybody...

Wonder how Emily is these days?

OP posts:
gingeme · 09/11/2007 20:59

What absolutely beautiful girls you two have.
My boys are doing just fine thank Rumple. Theyre coming here for Christmas which is going to be manic fun. Just hope I dont go into labour early
How long have you got now princess?
Lo has been real clingy just lately too. Not sure what its all about. Wonder if its because he knows Im pregnant.
samsam how are you? Has samantha had any more eye tests?
I hope you all have a good weekend.
Take care xx

taffy101 · 09/11/2007 21:21

mazmack - sounds like you know what i'm going through with this massaging thing - slippery octopus just about sums it up! I think my technique is slowly improving!
Rumpel - someone else recommended vitamin E oil to me as well. I am a bit reluctant to mess about with it though cos he has sensitive skin and it keeps flaring up with dermatitis and i have to use epaderm on it which is like a tub of lard. May ask them about it in clinic. Was back there again today as they posted me some new vests but they are too tight so he had to be remeasured. BTW, I think all your signs and symptoms point to a BFP!

Owen's FIRST STEPS yesterday - now the fun begins teehee. Also I think he has finally worked out how to drink from a cup!!! I shall soon be burning the breast pads and get my body back (maybe my terrible acne will clear up then too)

Welcome mum23boyz

Ginge - i too can't believe you only have 9 weeks to go. Big sigh of relief for you now that your dh has had snip!

samsmam - you can chill out now can't you - forget about work! What was your job? I work for NHS, nothing clinical though - just a secretary (as you can tell by my imperfect typing)

samsmam · 10/11/2007 08:19

Samantha has to go back on 21st November to see an eye consultant. we shall see I hope that her sight has improved. I don't think she has any problem myself.

Taffy- I was a pharmacy technician, at least I have the qualifications and can always return to it I suppose- just not sure pharmacy is for me anymore.

PL what a beautiful ballerina- Samantha is definitely not the build for ballet!!
Rumpel- lovely pics I love that red dress.
Must learn how to put pics on profile page.
