Nonsense Spin - the powers will always be with you

Okay here's my supersonic IT tip of the day (probably one that is known to the whole world apart from me until recently ) if you have a 'Home' and 'End' key on your keyboard - the Home key takes you to the top of the MN page, and the End takes you to the bottom - without scrolling

The only reason I know this is because Emma muscled in on a MN session and hit the Home key...

Hi Girls!!!

Just about recovered from yesterday's hangover.
Not too bad last night, I think she woke four times. Not too much crying, just a lot of fidgeting.

Re Facebook:
Kbaby, when you say you're 'under Owen' does that mean you're the person in the picture under 'Owen'? Cos that make you a well endowed country singer?????
Or are you Owen!? [silly]
Hope you and DD are feeling better now.

KZ can't see anyone who might be you!?
HC where are you???
THink I found Prettymum too.
Bloss has disappeared off the planet and hasn't answered my friend request...

RIght, enough of that! Back to work.

Beautiful photos algach!!!

Whoever asked for a photo of my haircut, HC, I think it was, I tried to do one from my phone, but it just goes all blank and doesn't upload (not a jpeg I guess).
So you'll just have to imagine how gorgeous I am!!!
(NOT)

Impy, can't find you either...

[obsessed]

best be off.

jacobandlysette · 21/09/2007 13:49

am obviosly going to have to join facebook as well, can't be left out of anything me!

well went to the docs and not only is it morning sickness, it would appear clapham has been hit my a mysterious vom and diarohea (sp) bug - all of which i am suffering from very badly. had to ask jacob's childminder over twice this week and am just trying to get through today. and as with kbaby's dh mine is off out watching the bloody rugby tonight. i'm on a diet of weak apple juice and plain baked potatoes and as little as possible during the day to get it out of my system, and he's off out with his mates [grrrrrr]

the only good thing is that i'm not growing massive early on like i did last time as i've probably lost about 4 pounds i nthe last few days! am keeping on with my vitamins and folic acid and i think it's going the right way!

will do pics later on if am feeling up to it!

sorry ahven't answered anyone so hi you all and i don't mean to be rude

TheGoddessBlossom · 21/09/2007 13:50

Har har har, logged on here and you've all had me laughing, Annie you are bonkers, hi First, [waves] need to log into Yahoo mail to pick up messages for Facebook contacts. HC may not be your thing, exactly NOTHING happens, LOL at you waiting for an event.

Sorry your week has been rubbish KBabes. My week does not win any prizes either, mainly because my reserves of patience with H seem to be majorly depleted, I really don't know why. Will invest in some CDs for the car, have been putting that off, but feel it's time....sigh....

We were all up and down last night, H didn't seem to want the door closed for some reason, and thought it best to tell me that at 12.30, 3.15 and 5am.

Both asleep at the moment.Took Toby to MamBaba (singing) this morning, he loves it, adores getting all the attention, and you can't blame him. Both f them eating like horses at the moment, Toby isn't bothered about milk either, he barely drinks 5 ounces a day....

Back later. Got to update my CV!!

Hello Bloss!
(Piss head? Me? Where did you get that idea?)

KZ I have poked you...

Lysette sorry to hear you're still feeling rough. Big Hugs

AnnieOleHouseElf · 21/09/2007 15:12

Says she having red wine for lunch...

FirstAtForty · 21/09/2007 16:34

Hi Girls

KZ come and find me on Facebook, I'm there under my RL name

Lysette - that's rough, morning sickness and a nasty bug , hope it clears up soon. Emma had a 24 hr vomiting bug last week, I think it's going round everywhere, noticed a thread on it yesterday.

Annie your lo's pics on Facebook are gorgeous

Bloss - no wonder your reserves of patience are depleted with the through-the-night wake up calls...

Okay I have a question - how exactly do you discipline a 14 month old when they will not leave the buttons on the telly and video alone? Presumably reasoning and the naughty step are out, as is giving them a clip round the ear - so what do you do when you say / shout 'NO' and they just laugh? I've tried picking her up and putting her in front of other toys, but she thinks it's all part of the game and goes right back over to the telly, chuckling to herself all the way - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr it's doing my head in (can you tell)

Actually it's a bit of a trying day today, another new game is 'strawberry hair pack' with real strawberries (her hair is now a fetching shade of strawberry blonde, shame about the bits of seed...). Again, when I said 'no' and encouraged her to put them in her mouth instead of her hair, and clapped enthusiastically when she did, she interpreted this as being the rules of the game - 1. rub in hair 2. once you've given it a good rub, give it a quick suck, then back to step 1. again

At last she has gone down for a nap...

AnnieOleHouseElf · 21/09/2007 16:48

Thank you First
I do adore them...
You don't look anything like I imagined you to look (even though I'm sure I've seen photos of you on MN before). I somehow thought you were blonde?
I'm so nosey...

Not too sure on the discipling lark. Distraction sometimes works, but it sounds like you might have to go to another room!
Sometimes I find if you say something repeatedly, 'don't touch the computer, don't touch the computer, don't touch the computer' in a firm but calm voice (not shouting like me ) sometimes it gets through.
It's just when they look so cute when they know they are being naughty, makes you laugh...

Have a good weekend all

x

FirstAtForty · 21/09/2007 17:40

Annie - that's funny, I had you down as blonde as well, weird!!

My profile pic isn't all that great, but there's a severe shortage of any pics of me as DP never picks up the camera, (that's my excuse anyway)!

Thanks for the discipline advice, it's so difficult isn't it? I try not to get riled but if something else is stressing you out at the same time it's hard. And yes, it's also hard not to laugh when they look so damn cute...

Well girls am off to have a Friday gin - need one today

ceebee74 · 21/09/2007 18:48

Evening all

Kbaby - sorry you have had such a s**t week. Hope the meeting with HR wasn't anything serious!

I think I must have Josh well trained in the car as I always have the radio or one of my CD's on and he never really 'chats' in the car - just sits there and listens to the music (or my terrible singing) .

First - I have no idea about discipline either as nothing I do works. Josh also just thinks it is a game - but I do love your stories - they always put a smile on my face - I was giggling at work at the strawberry one!

Right - have sent a friend request to Kbaby (hopefully!) and KZ so I guess that just leaves HC but I don't know how to find you - are you anyone here's friend yet? Also, can't find Impy or Lysette - need clues on your names!!

Agalch - gorgeous gorgeous children

Nearly time to put Josh to bed and enjoy a nice glass of white wine! Last day today at work before my holiday and it feels good tonight!!

HumphreysCorner · 21/09/2007 20:37

Looook ladies-how on earth do you find people on Facebook if you don't know their names??????????????????

HC
x

TheGoddessBlossom · 21/09/2007 20:59

HC - I don't think you can. You need to send me your real name to [email protected], (if you want to of course) and then I'll tell you mine (ooer missus) and you will find me straight away because for some unearthly reason when they said put in your real whole name I included my middle name and have spent the last few weeks how to remove it as people keep asking me why I have put my middle name in etc [annoying embarrassed emoticon].

Toby has gone from going to sleep like a lamb, often giggling himself to sleep, bless, to the last two nights screaming his head off. WTF? Gotta be teeth. Dispatched DH up there tonight when he'd got in from the pub tonight circa 7.15pm, and what did he do? Brought him back down with him. Complete soft get, but he was adorable, and we did do that occasionally with H to no harm. Little monkey, he got dosed with Medised, a huge load of attention and cuddles, and then got sent back to bed an hour later when I got fed up with him trying to get my vinos.

First - LOL at Herrow from Emma! Can just imagine her saying it so chirpily! Toby is prone to slapping you full on in the face. He hears NO so often he just says it back to you and carries on! [pulls hair out emoticon]

CB - aha! Cue patronising mother of two comment - wait till Josh is three - he will chat. Oh boy will he chat. And chat. And chat. "Why are you braking Mummy? What for? Go faster Mummy. I am fast Mummy, faster than Charlie, I win the race, go faster Mummy, STOP RED LIGHT(imaginary - goes ballistic when I don't slow down) etc....."

Pizza for tea. It will sit nicely on top of the family pack of crinkle cut crisps I just ate. Yum.

HC - maybe send an email to Bloss or Maewest with your RL name so they can find you - they have both posted special MN email addresses recently (KZ may have as well, soz can't remember) . (Is that okay everyone??)

HumphreysCorner · 21/09/2007 21:22

Bloss-have E-Mailed you. Er, me too has put my middle name on Facebook-didn't know I shouldn't have.

ceebee74 · 21/09/2007 21:25

HC - once Bloss has found you and added you as a friend, we should all be able to find you from Bloss's profile page and add you as a friend too.

FirstAtForty · 21/09/2007 21:27

x post Bloss!

Very similar diet here tonight - my intake tonight has been G&T - crisps - white wine - pizza - more white wine

Emma has been quite unsettled the last couple of nights too, keep having to go to her in the middle of the night to find her shrieking, sitting bolt upright, but fast asleep - wtf? She also refused to nap today (earlier optimism was unfounded, grr) - most unlike her - and cranky and clingy as hell. She's got a snotty nose which she hasn't had for a while, so maybe that's it, or teeth, who knows... We always get her up if she's inconsolable during the evening (before we go to bed) - 20 mins on the sofa watching telly seems to settle her enough to go back to bed.

FirstAtForty · 21/09/2007 21:29

meant to say at the middle name Bloss - but it's really not that bad, unlike mine...

FirstAtForty · 21/09/2007 21:30

by 'not that bad' I mean not that bad to publish it as it's a nice name, unlike mine [too much white wine emoticon]

Hi Peeps!

Hope you're feeling better Lysette, {{{{{{hugs}}}}}

Sorry you've been having a rough time Kbaby too, hope your DD is better.

CB - I'm on Maewest and Annie's Facebook friends links - you should be able to spot me - I look like a right berk. Ditto F@F - I take most of the photos in this household - so there are v few decent pix of me around! And enjoy your holiday - where are you off? (sorry if you've already said)

Gorg pix Algach - v lovely kids!

And yours are lovely too Annie!

I'm with you F@F on the discipline.... we stacked the video, dvd player and digi box on top of the telly - but now Ry can reach the video and is in danger of pushing the whole precarious combo off the tv! Argh. Are you supposed to build shelves six-feet-high around all your rooms to stop hot drinks being spilled, lap tops being destroyed, poisionous stuff being swallowed?????? At what age to they get a bit more savvy about these things? 16???

Not much to report Chez Impy. DP's off to India again next week - just for a few days this time, thankfully! My mate and her five-year old are arriving on Thurs to keep me company - so should be a larff. Have great weekend all. Impy xxx

MaeWest · 22/09/2007 19:06

Hi all. I knackered as have been to a 2-year old's birthday party today. Dom had great fun, he's itching to play with the 'big boys'. Hopefully he is well knackered too and will sleep beautifully tonight (well one can hope...)

FIL is staying this weekend - he's just told us that he's remarrying next year. He & MIL have been separated for nearly 10 yrs but only just finalised the divorce. Thing is, we've known he's had a girlfriend for ages, just been waiting for him to admit it . Either that, or he'd started wearing pink fluffy slippers himself in his old age . Better go and play dutiful DIL. Now where's that bottle of wine...
