Hey Holly, I'm fine for the afternoon both days, I am aiming for about 11.30 on the 16th and thought I'd take a picnic lunch. What time were you planning?

foxybrown · 09/08/2007 18:24

Thats good for me - am planning to spend the whole day there. I said I will try and get there earlier to meet up with LilKel.

foxybrown · 09/08/2007 18:31

Anyone want to laugh at me? Am SO STOOPID.

OK, so heading off to Drs in new car. Forgot we've no parking permit in our car (still in old one), so have to turn around and go back home to get temporary one. Cutting it fine, but scratch out the day, month etc. Go to appointment. And very pleased with myself for remembering in the nick of time.

Get back to car only to find a farking parking ticket. Am furious.

Look at permit have scratched out July, not August. [Big 'DUR' Emoticon]

Not funny bit: while I'm looking at the ticket, DD1 (2.9) has decided she wants to get into the car the drivers side. The way I'm parked, that's the road side. I'm calling her, thinking she's hiding behind a nearby bush - a range rover drives past and says 'get out of the road' (Arsehole doesn't stop BTW!). Still feel sick to my stomach thinking about it. We are VERY anal about road safety, always make my children hold on when crossing etc etc. She, nor the others, have ever gone into the road. Lesson learnt. Entirely my fault. Hideous moment.

loonylovegood · 09/08/2007 18:57

Oh god foxy, how horrible! I have nightmares about things like that. You must have been so frightened!

I can prob do about 1ish at the horniman. I think the train takes about 2 hours. I'll check it out and let you guys know.

bumperlicious · 09/08/2007 19:06

I'm coming on the 29th! Just popping in. Friends on the way over and I am unsuccessfully cooking spanish omelette!

Btw, a girl I met at bumps and babies who has the same GP as me told her she didn't need contraception as she is bfing !

foxybrown · 09/08/2007 19:22

OK, so today just got WORSE!

Opened my fridge - there's a BIG FAT SLIMY SLUG creeping up the inside door!!!!

Slugs are my particular phobia, and I can only think that it had been hiding in the left over salad (bought in a bag from Waitrose!) which I had given my in-laws for dinner the other night!

I feel sick!!!!

Hi Bumper BTW! Look forward to meeting you on the 29th. How exciting!

Signing off now as DP needs the laptop.

Tomorrow is another day ...

loonylovegood · 09/08/2007 19:49

Ewww foxy! Go to Waitrose with said slug and deposit it on their customer service desk! I bet you'd get vouchers!

Just seeing if this works- my jewellery!

Jamantha · 09/08/2007 19:49

Foxy - sorry about the road incident. Sounds scary.

And not sure whether it was in response to me talking about DD napping this morning (turned into a 3 hour nap - unheard of during the daytime since she got over jaundice), but when you said "ahhh, its all to come!" you were SO right! After that great start to the day, she fed almost constantly from 3.30 to 6.00, and when she wasn't feeding she screamed Finally got her quiet for a bit, and then we started the bedtime "routine" (as much as you can call nappy change, into grobag, feed, settle a routine). Thankfully she settled fairly well, I only had to go back for an extra cuddle once (touch wood). She's now been asleep for nearly 40 mins, so hopefully she's down for a few hours so I can get some tea and that much needed drink.

Jamantha · 09/08/2007 19:54

Ew, and just seen the slug post! Ew!!!! I also hate slugs - as a student we had them in the kitchen and I have once trodden on one barefoot when I went into the kitchen in the dark to get a drink in the middle of the night. And once I picked one up with my bare hands, thinking I'd dropped a mushroom from my stirfry, and then it wriggled at me! But the worst bit was when a house mate left a huge bag of rice out at the end of term with a note saying "help yourself". I almost did, thinking he was being practical and nice, saying "hey don't bother buying rice in the last week of term when I've got loads" until I was told that he wouldn't eat it because he'd found a slug crawling over it. Nice

trace2 · 09/08/2007 20:20

hi all daisy sorry i missed you hope you have nice time

trace2 · 09/08/2007 20:23

foxy scarry are you still shaken?

Jamantha · 09/08/2007 20:46

your poor dd, trace! and poor you!

Charlie999 · 09/08/2007 20:49

OMG Trace - that's awful - poor little thing . I would be very upset too...

OMG Foxy uurrgghh! I have a long haired cat that sometimes gets slugs stuck to his belly . I found a huge one in my bath once disgusting bloody cat!

PMSL Jamantha - I read that as you thought you'd dropped a mushroom into your stir-fry . I lifted a bag of rice out of my kitchen cupboard once and it started pissing out of lots of little holes. I thought my flat-mate had bought wild rice as there were lots of brown bits in it - it turned out we had mice who had eaten into the bag and it was mouse shit in with the rice

Juwairiyyahsmaama · 09/08/2007 20:54

Hello everyone.

Thanx Trace . Hope Chloe is much better now. I gave my dd paracetamol an hour before her jabs and 4hrs after. She just had a slight fever but she slept for hours and that was it. Oh and she lost her appetite and wouldnt feed much. I bf exclusively.

Annobal: I'm having some nieces and nephews over pls cud u give me the recipe to your "Apple crumble"? sounds yummy.

sputnik · 09/08/2007 20:57

Trace that's horrible, poor little thing. Good news about the weight gain though.

Holly, like the jewellery, you should try and find a way to photograph it with light coming through, to do justice to the glass.

Baby Sputnik seems to be changing his sleep patterns, didn't sleep at all today except in the car taking DD to and from nursery, but now has been out for the count since 8 pm. Interested to see what he does tonight

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 09/08/2007 21:09

Hi Ladies

Just caught up!

Bloody Hell Trace! Your poor lo! You two have got to be due a bit of luck soon?!

bumperlicious · 10/08/2007 06:38

Hi guys, just popping in while I wolf down some brekkie before feeding DD.

Hope chloe is ok, poor lamb. she's due some good karma soon!

Big ewww re: the slugs. My big phobia is spiders and they are all round my house at the moment

Going away again for a few days so probably offline till monday. Off to stay with some family.

Have a good weekend everyone. Btw holly, what day are you coming to the meet-up?

Anyone heard from Ria at all recently?

trendaverter · 10/08/2007 07:33

Poor Chloe! I would be v upset!

I had to take dog to the vets last night, my foster brothers took him for a walk, they took him through long grass and he got a seed in his ear, he was so upset he was shaking his head, and rubbing his face on the gravel to ease the itching, it was horrible and he wouldn't come near me, the vet had to operate on him last night

sputnik · 10/08/2007 12:38

Quiet on here today, maybe cos Daisy's away
Baby Sputnik is compensating for being awake all day yesterday by sleeping all day today. Gina would despair

Jamantha · 10/08/2007 12:43

hi sputnik, is indeed quiet today.

My LO is being very demanding

And speaking of Gina, anyone else going to be watching the programme about her tonight? 9pm on freeview channel 36, FIVELIF

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 10/08/2007 12:51

Hi

Ooh I wouldn't mind mind watching that - is freeview the same as sky? will it be on one of the sky channels too? Sorry - I'm a dunce with the whole TV digital whatchamethingy!

Jamantha · 10/08/2007 13:20

I don't know I'm afraid DKMA. I just happened to notice there was a programme called "Gina Ford: Who Are You To Tell Us?" and have set our Tivo recorded to record it. I've not read her books, but have, as you might expect, heard a lot about her, so thought it might be interesting.

loonylovegood · 10/08/2007 13:25

Afternoon!

That GF show is a repeat. I watched it last time and it is quite funny, she is pretty mental! It is on five life, which is on sky. It is 200 and something.
