Cheers for that TA...I'll get a starter kit from bumfluff and see how I get on.

daisyandbabybootoo · 21/08/2007 11:41

BZ....ultra-violet light will bleach the nappies eventually. I had a nstily stained stuffable and after being on the airer in the window for a few days, the stains have nearly gone. Better to line dry, but not had a lot going on in this weather!

We've been served notice on our flat! We have 2 months to get out Our landlord has been getting quotes for a few weeks, promising that he wasn't selling, it was for some other "financial reasons", but we just heard today he is selling It's a lovely flat, 2 large bedrooms in a big victorian house, great rent, close to town, near our friend, private carpark and now we have to move. I'm so gutted.

BadZelda · 21/08/2007 12:28

ARSE bumper - that is bad news!

trendaverter · 21/08/2007 12:41

Oh no Bumper
You must be so upset, you said how much you loved your place

faylisa · 21/08/2007 13:48

Bumper - that sucks

justbeme · 21/08/2007 14:02

sorry to hear about yr flat bumper
bz you made me laugh! never heard of "arseflaps!"

well lucy screamed last nite until 1:30! it was horrible - then woke at 5ish and 8ish - then back to sleep until midday!! so i got up at about 11:45!!!

ive been eating red cabbage - so not sure if she had wind as she has been abit farty!

faylisa · 21/08/2007 14:17

Hooray - for the first time ever, I have got both DD and DS to have a daytime nap AT THE SAME TIME. I am going to do a small jig around the lounge and then collapse in a heap on the sofa until one of them wakes up.

BadZelda · 21/08/2007 14:24

It's great when that happens isn't it?

justbeme · 21/08/2007 14:24

congrats faylisa!!!
it must b hard having more than 1 2 cope with - (1ht)

Charlie999 · 21/08/2007 14:26

Oh Bumper - what a shame - busy time for you now then! God that has happened to me so many times! I hate moving! Think positive though - I'm sure the perfect place will turn up - every time I moved, I ended up in a better place even though sometimes the choice to move wasn't mine.

Oh JBM - hope DD has a better day - at least you slept with her!

Can I ask a question about flat heads? I am very careful to make sure DD doesn't spend all her time on her back as I really don't want her to deleveop a flat bit on the back of her head - but this morning, I'm sure there is a little flat bit . What do you all do? DD sleeps on her back, she has a bouncy chair and swing chair and a play gym. She does lay on me occasionally, but I can't do that all the time - I don't know what I can do? Any ideas?

justbeme · 21/08/2007 14:31

im not sure charlie - lucy seems to put her head to one side when she sleeps on her back

trendaverter · 21/08/2007 14:44

I read that you can put their head to the side (different sides) when they are asleep, but DS sleeps on his belly and swaps sides himself (or sometimes just does a head on face plant, whatever makes him happy)

faylisa · 21/08/2007 14:46

unfortunately i think a bit of a flat head is inevitable as babies spend so much time on their backs. My DD had a bit of a flat head as a baby but it seemed to sort itself out once she spent more time sitting, crawling, etc and is certainly not noticeable now (she's 23 months).

A chiropractor did advise me to try and make sure DS had some 'tummy time' when he's awake but he hates it and screams the house down. In any case she said it was so that he was encouraged to crawl, in due course, and didn't mention his skull.

If you are worried then maybe you should talk to your GP or health visitor about whether there is anything else you can do.

foxybrown · 21/08/2007 14:52

Oh Bumper! Thats shite. Am sorry for you, it must be a shock.

Hi to everyone!

Can I do a quick poll? If you were in a cafe and someone thought to count your children, out loud, whilst you were standing and paying the bill, would you be offended?

Because I am. Am I over-sensitive?

TALLULAHBELLE · 21/08/2007 14:53

hi folks,
Finally made it to baby yoga yesterday. Was great fun & DD seemed to enjoy it. By the end of the class all the babies were snoozing on the floor - yep, all bar one, MINE! Still she remained pretty chilled for the rest of the day, hardly cried at all, went down with barely a whimper at 9:30 & slept till 4;15. Best 6 quid I've ever spent - only wish was on every day.

trendaverter · 21/08/2007 14:56

I wouldn't care if they counted...so what? Who cares what she thinks?
I am from a big family....5 kids plus 2 fostered brothers... and I LOVE it.

When they are a bit older and you are having big family get togethers and lovely crazy christmasses who gives a flying fuck what some uptight cow in a cafe thinks. She probably has the clap anyway.

faylisa · 21/08/2007 14:56

foxy - yes i think i would be a bit shocked - they must be very small minded

TALLULAHBELLE · 21/08/2007 14:56

What a shame Bumper - hope you find somewhere soon.

Yeah Foxy that's just rude - should have bitch-slapped her. One for each child.

Think flat head thing inevitable but sorts itself out in time.

trendaverter · 21/08/2007 14:57

or you could join me in bad motherhood and have them sleep on their belly

TALLULAHBELLE · 21/08/2007 15:00

DD won't do tummy time. She's too uptight to flop & arches her back & girns. So sure she will have flat head soon.

foxybrown · 21/08/2007 15:00

you lot make me PMSL!

I agree, don't worry about flat-head, but if it really concerns you a cranial osteopath might be helpful.

my ds2 has a flat-head - on top

gives him a huge advantage in the sports day beab-bag race

trendaverter · 21/08/2007 15:00

I am looking for a dog sitter for my pooch while I am on holiday, the company I spoke to - get this:
£17 per night - fair enough
£25 collection and delivery charge
£25 LIFETIME REGISTRATION FEE - err sorry what? I'm only gone for 10 days
Plus a PRACTICE NIGHT, another £17, and the £25 collection fee

Jeez... I am in the wrong business (In fact I am no business but that's beside the point)

Charlie999 · 21/08/2007 15:03

Thanks all for advice - TA she won't sleep on her tummy - tried that! Also tried to put on tummy under her baby gym FayLisa, but she screams her head off! Feel a bit better now - don't want anyone thinking I don't do anything with her and leave her laying down all day

Foxy - I would be offended - what a fucking cheek! I also wouldn't have been able to keep my gob shut! You are not over sensitive....what was she like? Did you say anything?

Charlie999 · 21/08/2007 15:06

£17 per night. Jesus. I pay £10 for kennels. I'll have him if he's good and likes labradors
