Thanks TA!

SG and I are going to meet up late September in the Midlands area so if anyone else wants to come along please do!

Another 7.30 wake up for DD, I am loving this! I still feel tired when I wake up though, not sure what is wrong with me?

bumperlicious · 21/08/2007 09:10

My (mostly) healthy eating has paid off - I've lost 3 pounds! That's just from cutting out chocolate and cake etc. and snacking on cereal instead.

BadZelda · 21/08/2007 09:20

AHHHHHHFGGGGGGG FUCKING ARSEFLAPS
I REALLY want to catch up with you lot but Ella is currently having a screaming tantrum because I'm not playing FUCKING telly tubby games with her on my laptop. ALL I WANT IS FUCKING HALF A FUCKING HOUR CAN'T DH UNDERSTAND THAT
sorry for shouting rather irritated. I would say back later but that is prettty unlikely if this is like every other day ;(

trendaverter · 21/08/2007 09:23

wow
Zelda
you poor thing... go into the bathroom and hide, I would

bumperlicious · 21/08/2007 09:23

Zelda, hope you get some peace. Are you coming to the next horniman meet up btw?

NattyThomasandEllen · 21/08/2007 09:31

lol BZ sorry u having bad morning. know what u mean yesterday was hell for me!

anyways.. morning everyone
ive been up since 5am.. yes i said FIVE am. my darling daughter is no longer sleeping thru and insisting on waking up hungry... OMG i cannot wait till she is 17 weeks.. bring on buckets of baby rice.
she now weighs.. wait for it... 13 and a half pounds
she is a absoulute pig! tom wasnt that big till he was 4 1/2 months, ellen has doubled her birth weight already. to say the health visitor was suprised would be an understatement.

how is everyone else this morning?

NattyThomasandEllen · 21/08/2007 09:33

did i miss a meet up.. i hope not.. whens the next one?

BadZelda · 21/08/2007 09:39

Ah
Looks like I should have more tantrums...have got 20 mins now. What's up? You're all slimming....I've decided to just put up with being a bit porky till I stop breastfeeding, as I didn't shift that last stone till after stopping last time.
Looking forward to next meetup, though I might bring reins for DD next time to save my stress.

I've been trying to order a 'fluffle' off the nappy lady to try out...but just realised that I probably need to buy a wrap and all that crap to go with it? I just don't understand these things. Plus I got an email to say they didn't receive a transaction, and they have not answered the phone (have been calling since thurs) so think they have lost my business and I will try bumfluff instead. Meanwhile...daisy? You're pretty clued up. Can I ask you about what all these bits and pieces mean? Tried some tots bots when ella was tiny...but they took and age to dry on radiators and went smelly, and wouldn't come clean in the wash, which is why I thought the 'fluffles' would be better.

Sorry to hear about Chloe...poor Trace. What a nightmare ;( Do hope she gets a bit better and they find out what's really wrong. Not knowing must be worse than anything.

Foxy: did you find something to do? Blast this crappy weather. Yesterday was dull enough though we did get out of the house to take cat to the vet for her fleas...in the buggy! Maybe it's a soft play day today....

NattyThomasandEllen · 21/08/2007 09:45

BZ was it u who was in croydon?

NattyThomasandEllen · 21/08/2007 09:48

by the way BZ.. im not slimming either.. my bmi is 24.. which is just about acceptable and have be forbidden by boob hungry hubby, he says he will miss them too much is i loose weight and it would be a crime against nature pmsl

NattyThomasandEllen · 21/08/2007 09:49

shame ur in brixton lmao.. should have checked ur profile lol now i look really dumb

NattyThomasandEllen · 21/08/2007 09:49

and now it looks like im talking to myself.. so many messages in a row.. sad cow

loonylovegood · 21/08/2007 09:52

Morning!

BZ I was the same re weight loss. People say that bfing makes you lose weight. What a load of bollocks! I lost a stone when I stopped bfing dd!

I have one of these for dd when we are out and about. She won't wear reins (cue wobbly tantrum and throwing herself on the floor), but she will occasionally wear her rucksack.

I am a bit frightened of bringing her to the Hornimans on the train. She is so badly behaved, I'm worried about how I'll cope!

Sorry about your infection SG, hope it clears up soon.

TA my ds is now 14lbs too! He is only just in 0-3 months though! The 0-3 month trousers fall off when I pick him up. He is so long and lanky!

Hey natty, good to hear from you. Hope you are well!

Where has doggus been lately?

NattyThomasandEllen · 21/08/2007 09:58

i saw one of those on a kid the other day Looneylovegood, she look well cute!
im lucky tom will allow a wrist strap on, but i have used one from day one and he is not allowed to leave the house without it on, even if he is in the pushchair so he kinda accepts it now. mind u he is only 16months so his tantrums arnt quite so bad yet, however yesterday in savers he threw THREE tantrums in about three minutes, kicking the floor and pounding his fists. omg i was so embarressed.
where are you by the way? if your coming from my direction i could meet you on train and give u a hand, even if its just to take the LO.. just a thought

BadZelda · 21/08/2007 09:59

Hey Holly...maybe they will take to each other and stop each other from straying? Or at least we can do 'tag' and one sit down and chill whilst the other runs after them. I also had GREAT success with keeping tags on multiple kids using ROLLERSKATES at the brixton splash...sounds crazy, but it was like having seven league boots on...and only a couple of bruises from my tumbles (from all the hockey slams, of course)

Natty...we've had this conversation before...must be post-preggo brain Anyway - we're pretty close, so must catch up in the park / croydon shopping centre or similar one of these days? Just a bus-ride from brixton.

loonylovegood · 21/08/2007 10:08

I'm coming from Southampton, so 3 different trains and a 2 hour journey! It's gonna be fun! I'm hoping dp is somewhere near London that day so at least he'll be able to drop me a bit closer!

BZ tag sounds like a great idea! Alice and Ella sound like two peas in a pod! I love how you roller skate, that is so cool!

NattyThomasandEllen · 21/08/2007 10:08

yes sounds good. if ur stuck for ideas today there is a free softplay area today but its for young mums and i cant remember how old you are

NattyThomasandEllen · 21/08/2007 10:10

ok just checked ur profile AGAIN.. i need to think before i speak.. im blaming mummy brain

daisyandbabybootoo · 21/08/2007 10:15

Hi Natty....whaere you been hiding?
Hi BZ....IKWYM about time to yourself, its the same here!

Re weight loss: I lost the fist stone really easily, I can't shift any more weight, although I'm not trying too hard at the moment. I've decided to bin my maternity trousers though. I was still wearing the under bump ones in the misguided view they were like hipsters, as my regulars don't fit yet. I looked pregnant. Yesterday i had on the size 16 jeans i got in next sale, and looked so much better in them...cue shopping trip with non-existent money for new trousers. But, finally sent off the child benefit form so will have about 140 quid coming my way soon!

found out yesterday I've missed the opportunity for a £320 hand out . There is a hospital fund in Leeds that costs a couple of quid a month, but pays out for glasses, dentist etc. DH and I have been meaning to join for ages, but never got around to it. BIL was telling me yesterday that you can claim £160 per baby per member, so if we'd both been members....Grr

Nappies....I've been buying stuff from Bumfluff nappies Her prices are reasonable and her advice and service second to none I think.

BZ...she told me that totsbots have been having quality control problems and sold me a bambinex teddy rather than a fluffle. It is lovely and is practically dry straight out of the machine, but looks very very bulky on. I use a motherease Rikki wrap over the top and fasten with a nippa, although they do velcro a well I think.

Re smell....I bought some 2nd hand nappies which got a bit whiffy, so bought some nappy sanitiser in Mothercare. you put a tablespoon in with the wash and it sorts out the nasty lingering odour.

Ria...not sure how old your DS is, but you can get re-usable pull-ups but they are hideaoulsy expensive...about £18 on the site I found. Speak to flame and she'll sort you out!

....i wonder if she'll give me commission?

BadZelda · 21/08/2007 10:18

Heh...young at heart at least. Still money's not a massive problem (yet) since I saved up before having Matilda so that I could have time off. But just had a slight barney at DH since despite me giving him quite a big allowance when he was off work looking after DD1 whilst I was contracting he's blaming skintness on not contributing to our mortgage/bills account now that he's gone back to work full-time. Grrrr.

daisyandbabybootoo · 21/08/2007 10:18

Of course when I say so much better in normal trousers....I just looked fat instead of pregnant...but it's a start. I was beginning to get funny looks when out with DD

OP posts:
BadZelda · 21/08/2007 10:21

Cheers Daisy. Shit - forgot all about the child benefit form. Must get that sorted! Will look at bumfluff and see what I can sort out. Bulkiness is a concern...I know they say it doesn't affect their development, but the babies are so much more mobile without nappies on.

daisyandbabybootoo · 21/08/2007 10:24

I'm not sure about the development BZ...it's supposed to be better for hip/pelvis to have some bulk between the legs...

...and in a bulky nappy and tight fitting wrap at the moment, DD can sit upright on her own as it's so rigid

daisyandbabybootoo · 21/08/2007 10:25

Off to shower as DHs friend coming round in half an hour, and he does not need to see me in my rather fetching BF nightie!

trendaverter · 21/08/2007 10:37

BZ - Nappylady sucks.
I ordered mine through her and the service was rubbish, would not recommend. Plus took aaagggeeesss to arive, 3 weeks for the fluffles!! And did I get an email advising of the delay? Of course not.
