Oh yes frugi stuff is fab too! But V generous JC their stuff is huge - I have toddler / 12ms + from there as v hard wearing.

Also for anyone wanting to buy in advance, I’d recommend the thick leggings - blade and rose / frugi / jules - knitted stretchy as they’re great for crawlers and being on the floor etc where thinner leggings don’t really. Cut it. I’d totally recommend stocking up if you see them on sale - they’re a bloody godsend once they’re all over the floor but £££ full price ime.

Since2016 · 15/04/2019 11:12

I realise that description makes fuck all sense and seems totally random it just occurred to me. Will find pic.

Since2016 · 15/04/2019 11:15

Snuggle suits from frugi too @powkin are amazing for winter if you can find them on sale. Their ‘suprise’
Boxes are also VV good value. Snuggle suits fabulous for slings in winter as super warm but not snowsuit.

Ok will stop with completely random clothes recs!

powkin · 15/04/2019 13:12

I’ve totally forgotten if anyone else is in east London but if anyone ever fancies a coffee in Westfield or that sort of area do let me know x

Notquiteagandt · 15/04/2019 14:43

I love blade and rose. I have bought loads for my little girl. But they dont stay up yet. So agree that they are massive 😂 probally end up fitting her in august when its boiling hot haha.

Found it so hard today buying clothes as its not quite warm enough for summer clothes but too warm for winter stuff. Hard judging what size shell be in what season etc.

As I was bed bound most of pregnancy. This is the 1st time ive been baby clothes shopping and its all new. Newborn stuff was easy just loads grosuits. But would like some little tops etc now.

Celebelly · 15/04/2019 14:46

I really like Jojo Maman Bebe leggings. We have about six pairs Grin They were doing a special offer on them when I bought them, not sure if it's still going. They wash well and are cosy.

R is long in the torso so I'm having to get out some of the 3-6 month bodysuits. I'm trying to reuse stuff from DC1 but he was a summer baby so lots of things are the opposite season.

Sainsburys is great for kids clothes and are good for long babies. I've also heard they are doing 25% off tomorrow. John Lewis, H and m and Boots I find come up small in length. Next do the best sleepsuits in my opinion, nice thick material and wash well and have the built-in mitts. And I loved frugi for DC1 but I think recently the designs haven't been as nice.

Powkin have you tried ferrous fumerate iron tablets? I find them less likely to cause an upset stomach than the ferrous sulphate the GP usually prescribes so l always ask for them instead.

Since2016 · 15/04/2019 15:31

I’m so fortunate that despite the fact DD2 is smaller they were born within a week of each other so all the clothes are the right seasons 😂good planning or what!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 15/04/2019 17:26

Good to know the lengths on sletpsuits! DS is 6 weeks (and one day 😂) but has outgrown some of his 0-3 sleepsuits now, will look at the longer lengths stores 👌🏼

lanalawr · 15/04/2019 21:28

@Notquiteagandt I keep thinking it would be easier if he was a girl because he could wear baggy dresses. I'm sure I wouldn't think that if he was a girl though!

@Since2016 do you know if the small hats in Jojo are also small for toddlers? I make small headed children so this could be perfect. Dd was wearing 6-12 month hats at 18 months and they were on the slightly loose side.
Jojo also do the thicker leggings. Not sure what the price is like as I've always got them from the outlet shop.

mummymummymummummum · 15/04/2019 22:22

@lanalawr We went into Jojo to try on beach swim wear last week as it was on offer (planning a few months ahead there!). My toddler needed a surprisingly big size of sun hat.

Since2016 · 15/04/2019 22:28

Yes I think so. DD had sun hats from there (because they tie under their chins so can’t be pulled off!!) and she was wearing 2-3 I think last year?

mummymummymummummum · 16/04/2019 02:20

Woohoo! The rumours were correct Smile

Anyone else massively sleep deprived tonight? I’m really struggling as baby A has been up since 2.50am! She just won’t go back to sleep even after feeding, burping, changing, cuddles, rocking, dummy!

I’m actually feeling a bit sick I’m that tired 😢 DH doesn’t do any nights due to long commute/hours at work so I’ve not had a proper sleep in 9 weeks.

Not quite sure why I’m posting but really just want her to sleep for a few hours so that I feel relatively human for the day routine (which never involves sleep for me as she will only snooze if getting cuddles!)

Celebelly · 16/04/2019 04:59

That sounds so tough :( I don't know how you ladies who are so sleep deprived do it. I wouldn't be able to function! Thanks You're all superstars.

Can your partner take her in latter part of evenings while you get a chunk of sleep? I'm not sure what to suggest as I think at this stage it's still quite developmentally linked and sort of random.

I've been trialling an earlier bed time for Emma - I was putting her down with me at 10ish and she would generally sleep till 4 or 5, but I put her down at 9 the night before last and 8 last night and she slept 8 hours the first night and is still sleeping now! I think being overtired can make them sleep less so might be worth bringing forward bedtime if it's quite late and seeing if that makes any difference.

Notquiteagandt · 16/04/2019 05:48

An other one wide awake since 3. (Baby is asleep but her reflux is bad so im watching her!)

We have evening routine of start winding down at 6.30ish bath, boob and cuddles. Usually asleep by 8/8.30ish. She will then wake about 11, 3, 6 so I am lucky she gives me some big chunks. (Although last few days been wide awake wanting to play at 3/4 🙄)

This is a massive improvement. Baby m is nearly 11wks so coming to the end of the 4th trimester soon.

Sure well forget these tired days. I have been so sleep deprevived some days ive been hallucinating. But I find we get into a cycle of being so exhausted physically cant move. Then the less we do in the day the worse she sleeps that night. So I really really try to do as much as I can in the day even if just a walk to tired the baby out. Even if it is the hardest thing ever.

In the day she naps on me or in pram. Going to start trying to put her in her own bed to sleep. So I can try nap too.

Yakadee · 16/04/2019 06:24

Wow, you guys are doing awesome. I really can't complain on the sleep front. Emma's pattern seems to have changed a bit so a bit less sleep but she's still doing well.

@Celebelly - my lo seems to go down about 8/9pm and we go up usually around 9/10pm (or earlier if shattered) and she's been getting up around 2 am and then 6am.

We're moving house next week so once we're settled I'll be letting her have her daytime naps upstairs as it'll be darker (and quieter, noisy 3 yo) as she's nearly 3 months now. She won't be in her own room at night for a while yet though. (We have a camera and sensor pad - life saver for reassurance) x

Lookingforadvice123 · 16/04/2019 07:31

Ooh I'm glad bedtimes have come up as I need help! We've been having issues since I mainly stopped BF'ing = stopped the cluster feeding in the evenings!

DS2 used to cluster feed all evening, then have a 5oz bottle before bed. He now still seems to want to "cluster" even though he's on formula (eg last night he had a 6oz bottle at around 7pm but was hungry again only an hour or so later?!). Obviously if he's hungry we feed him, but I'm worried he's confusing tiredness with hunger a bit, as he'll have a bit then want to go to sleep. We had been putting him down around 10pm but had to
bring it forward as he was falling asleep just before his bath and we had to wake him which was just cruel. So he's now going down around 9:30pm ish and I'm reluctant to bring it forward as he's currently only having one night feed and I don't want to turn that into two with an earlier bedtime! But without fail he ALWAYS falls asleep on his bedtime bottle now so instead of having 5oz he'll only have 2-3. Then wake earlier for his night feed (last night was before 1am 😭 whereas when he has 4-5oz he'll go until at least 2:30am).

Any tips on getting him to stay awake for his bedtime feed, or on knowing when his bedtime should be?

He's definitely programmed to know when it's night as he also falls asleep on his night feed bottle, but as he always needs a nappy change then (just wee but it leaks through by morning otherwise) DH is doing the nappy change mid way through the feed to keep him awake, but that's not an option at bedtime as he's just had a clean nappy/clothes etc after his bath. Last night we tried giving him some of the bottle before the bath but he was falling asleep and again I feel it's cruel to then bath him!!!

He also falls asleep on his first morning bottle as he always goes back down after that. But he almost never falls asleep on his daytime bottles and will take 5-6oz usually!

Lookingforadvice123 · 16/04/2019 07:32

yakadee DS2 does similar sleep patterns to your Emma when he's had enough of his bedtime bottle, sleeping from around 9:30-9:45pm til 2:15-2:45am, then up again between 6 and 7am. How many Oz is she generally having (or are you BF?)?

Yakadee · 16/04/2019 08:23

@Lookingforadvice123 - I'm ff. It depends really, I make a 7oz bottle (as she was sinking 6oz) and in the day, right into the evening she usually finishes it. Then she seems to need a bit of a top up around 7/8pm (maybe 2/3oz) and then around 5oz in the night. Obviously it just depends. So long as she's satisfied I'm easy.

She seems to be settling herself into two decent naps in the day too (although does snooze in between) xx

lanalawr · 16/04/2019 09:03

It sounds daft but what about a pretend nappy change during his bedtime bottle? Or put him into his sleeping bag/swaddle/blankets partway through the bottle so you're having to move him about to see if that wakes him?

I feel very lucky with sleep too. Ds cluster feeds in the evening but then has a top up bottle (still a worryingly slow weight gainer). He stays downstairs with dh after the bottle because he seems to think it's playtime. They'll come to bed at around half midnight and he'll wake at 1:30/2:00 for a feed and 4:30/5:00 too. We're up for a good hour and a half to two hours each time but I find that easier than more wake ups. I think the top up has a lot to do with his sleeping pattern though and I'd still like to drop or reduce it - just need to crack the morning one first.

bubblybrit · 16/04/2019 09:31

Anna managed 1.5 hours of sleep between 2.45am and 9am! Exhausted isn’t the word for it 😢!

She is usually really good. Feeds at 10pm whilst in bed and usually falls asleep 11ish after loads of cuddles. Up again around 4am for an hour or so. Then has another 2-3 hours sleep before getting up between 7-8am! However the last 2-3 nights have been awful with very little sleep 😢!!

DH usually doesn’t come home from work until 6.30 (after being up at 5am). By the time he has dinner and helps with the chores it’s usually around 9pm. He then sits in front of the tv for an hour before bed. It’s kinda the only ‘free’ time he has so would feel bad asking him to look after baby A for that hour. Obviously it’s much better at weekends but they go in so quickly!

I’ll take your advice and see if I can bring bed time routine forward. Might manage at least another hour which is better than nothing! I’ll also bath her a little later than normal to see if that helps settle her.

I do take her for walks but didn’t yesterday as the weather was awful. So maybe that contributed to her being very restless? Weather should be better this afternoon so I’ll make sure I get out today. Even if I look like a zombie lol 😀 x

detachablehoof · 16/04/2019 11:09

Jabs done. It was so horrible 😭 think I made more of a fuss than DD 😣😳
She's asleep now, let's hope there's no reaction...

bubblybrit · 16/04/2019 12:16

@detachablehoof. Jabs are horrible. Anna slept for a little bit after hers and then woke up with a temperature. Do you have baby calpol/paracetamol?
