Lucky shoe csws! We did that last week with ds2's welly... I was adamant we'd find it, as it was en route to the woods, so he needed it. And they were Clarks ones, so expensive on principle even though given to us by a neighbour!

Eeeek, very early to be dropping naps if you ask me! Ds1 made it to 2, give or take a week, and I'm going to force ds2 to keep napping till he starts nursery!

Phoenix · 14/07/2007 20:14

csws I remembered early on in the week but didn't post it on here then remembered again tonight when i was reading the tv mag.

2boysmacca · 14/07/2007 20:18

Good luck if she does drop her nap. Ds was never a good daytiem sleeper but when he dropped his nap OMG!

We've just sat and had a curry outside, lsitening to Bryan Ferry at Audley End. It's a beautiful night. Kids are sleeping, beer is cold, ahhh such is this life

I had to repaint the front door this morning, mopped kitchen and living room, 3 loads of washing dried (Our bill is £250 cheper this quarter from not using the tumble dryer , garden weeded and mown, and kids entertained. Phew!

Need to have a run in the morning . Have promised the paddling pool out if the weatehr stays as it is. Fingers crossed.

Jas · 14/07/2007 20:25

No csws, not a dp problem, although lack of communication hasn't helped as I could've used his car if he hadn't already arranged to go out.
DDs are very cross, as they were looking forward to it (as I don't really do religious stuff at all it was something new and exciting) Just as well they don't know about the play house.
for the found shoe. I did something similar last week but eventally found it at home. I must have put ds in the buggy with only one shoe on and not noticed

Ds cried for an hour at bedtime he has finally settled with extra milk.

The house is a mess. DP has been shed working. I need to tidy up and think of something interesting to do tomorrow.

Any brown is not going to go with blue sofas and blue/green carpets, Flame. Just make the decision for him.

2boysmacca · 14/07/2007 20:35

You seem a bit down Jas at least the weather is supposed to be good tomorrow Hope you find something to do with the girls

Jas · 14/07/2007 20:52

Yes macca. I hate having to cancel plans at shrt notice, and I really hate having a crying baby.

I have no wine, and no money, and my NooNoo is broken

2boysmacca · 14/07/2007 21:02

How about sharing a virtual glass, have plenty here, stocked up yesterday No white I'm afraid, only red. Have a few cobras chilling too......

Jas · 14/07/2007 21:10

Yes please. I have chocolate you can share. G&B plain with ginger...very nice

2boysmacca · 14/07/2007 21:59

No more choc! I've just devoured some G&B butterscotch. I poured you a glass of shiraz, hope you liked. Off to bed, once I've put another laod of washing in. I have a 5.30am wake up call!!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/07/2007 22:47

Watched the programme Phoenix, and did better than everyone else on every round bar the last, where my concentration was suffering (cleaning at same time). I still beat her by loads on the Tiffany one though .

Hope you don't have a crappy day tomorrow Jas. I was assuming that the girls knew about the playhouse, so phew that they don't! Also hope that you can get the car fixed again soon.

A quick at the balloon filling place. We paid to have 53 balloons filled, but 24 of them don't float at all, including all bar one of the ones which actually say 'Christening' on them (meant to go on the cake table). Will be having words with them tomorrow/Monday! (They are meant to last a couple of days).

For once I bet I don't have the messiest and dirtiest house on this thread (as long as you don't look in the study ).

KelBelle · 14/07/2007 23:45

Hope all goes well at the christening tomorrow.

Well I didnt manage to catch up with Emmerdale, I decided to get my garden sorted out for my bbq next weekend for my birthday. It was really overgrown. I started at 10am and finsished at 5pm and I still have more to do. It looks really tidy though already so cant wait to get it finished, back aching a lot now though so I think I will pay tomorrow. Hoping for nice weather too so I can get some more done.

Bloody internet been playing up again, it has taken me over an hour to get on here, Virgin coming out again on Monday - 2 different technicians, one for tv and one for internet. I think I have a cabling problem as both tv and net have problems at the same time so I really hope they sort it out this time!!!

Jas · 15/07/2007 06:47

@ limp balloons. Don't let the little things spoil it for you csws. I hope you all have a lovely day

I'm thinking of the afternoon at the farm if dp isn't too late back today, and maybe sending the dds to church with my neighbour as they are always asking to go

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/07/2007 08:32

Only 7 floaty balloons left now .
Loads to do, and hub is turning up at 10. Wonder if he's up for some pj shots .

mustrunmore · 15/07/2007 08:44

Hub'd give anything a go if he thought he could make it look arty

Hope you have a beautiful day csws family. No one will notice the ballonns, they'll be just watching kids causing mayhem Did your post from ds1 arrive? He was very proud to have posted it himself ie he can reach the scales at the post office now!!

Frizbe · 15/07/2007 12:58

Hi all I'm back
Had a lovely time on Wed Flame, lol at the waving of norks and frootshoots.
Dd1 finally perked up on the Friday, damn booster jabs and is back on full form now we're home, pah! Your friend does look like miranda from sex n the city though, doesn't she
Had a lovely week away, lots of nice weather, unlike up here, back to the pouring rain today, sigh.....dd1 leant to catch crabs both girls did lots of paddling and playing and dh and I even got out for a whole evening to ourselves again!! hurrah (tower park again flame, lol)
Oh and sorry I didn't bring the snowman with me

CSWS hope today goes well with the Christening (I am reading the thread correctly aren't I?)

Chloe for your money worries.

To be honest that's all I've taken in, when I've skimmed the thread, in post holiday daze, will wait for a summary before I say anything more!!

Ooooh one more thing, debating applying for a job, that was randomly in our free paper which was on the mat when we got back, with homestart, 37hrs a week, but dh is saying he'd pack up building and just concentrate on our other stuff, so could be a dooer? really fancy working for them, as not just a job, job, I'd actually feel I was doing something worth while, you know?

Phoenix · 15/07/2007 17:46

I've done my race for life today. Me and my mum walked it in 47 mins. I'm quite proud of that

It rained the whole way round and we're sludged up to the knees but we enjoyed it

csws - Hope the christening is going well

Friz - Glad you enjoyed your hols

FlameDelacour · 15/07/2007 19:26

Very hung over, will try and catch up in a bit.

Considering the big piss up for me being a few glasses of wine - and that's it!

I feel like cr*p and remember why I have never been one for drinking just for the sake of it

Also very , my friend (the male one that I haven't seen in ages and I keep whinging that I miss....) got a few texts from me! Told him I hadn't seen him in ages, and that I missed him... then that I was drunk, but I missed him sober too - we're meeting up for lunch one day in the next few weeks

Jas · 15/07/2007 19:49

I noticed a couple of drunken posts from you late last night Flame

Round of appluse for your race for life Phoenix.

Frizbe - APPLY FOR THE JOB If you aren't meant to do it you won't get it.

csws - I really hope you had a lovely day. The weather here was great so I hope you got the same.

No scrounging virtual wine for me tonight. I have a real bottle. I can't drink lots any more either Flame.

I am mentioning the piss up (only describing it as a much more genteel affair) to dp regularly but he is not happy and thinks if he says it enough times I won't go. I am putting it as a given that I will go, but I may have to compromise and not stay overnight. Probably ve a last minute decision.

I will be there though (just let me moan about dps unreasonable paranoia for a couple of weeks.please )

I was woken this morning at about 1am witht he smoke alram beeping, we were having a power cut. By the time we got up the milk was warm and a load of stuff had defrosted, like bread ice cream etc

Made a cup of tea on the hob, then went to Strabucks for a nice coffe. Quickly proceeded by swimming then the park. Ds went to bed at 6pm after having a tantrum over nothing, and ds2 fell asleep having his bottle at 6.25.

Dh cleared out the fridge and emptied the entire veg basket into the compost as it's sell by was today or tomorrow! Everything I'd bought on Friday I had to pick it all out and wash it. Why, it was sealed and not limp or anything. Men!!!

Just booking tickets to Noddy at Knebworth, falls over our anniversary weekend so I'm hoping parents will come with us then babysit in the evening.

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/07/2007 20:26

I'm here. Had a mega day. Catering was a success . Dress was divine . Some of the (older) kids enjoyed trashing the playhouse . We have enough money boxes to set up a shop . Weather was good until late on when we had a short but VERY heavy shower, our guttering over the utility room decided it was too full of leaves/moss, and we had a flood .

Am looking forward to seeing hub2dee's pics. There are some extra special arty ones that we did first thing mrm .

We did indeed get the boys' card . Had been saving all the ones that arrived in the week to open today. DD made quack quack noises and tried to pull the ducks off it, which I think means she like it . Thank the boys (and you) very much .

Am now knackered, and hoping that dd is also knackered enough to sleep well (we were up for an hour in the middle of the night last night, which is v unusual). She didn't have a nap again today - didn't even try to put her down in the middle of her party - she'd have been gutted to miss out!

Friz - agree that it can't hurt to apply for the job.

Well done on the Race for Life Phoenix.

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/07/2007 20:27

for fridge macca. Wasn't it you had something similar happen a few months ago too?

Frizbe · 15/07/2007 20:45

Flame at you and your drunken txting.

CSWS that the party went great, can't wait to see hub's photos, though for the mini flood.

Jas and CSWS, yep I've decided I'm defo going to apply, its not like I need the job, but if I do get it, then its meant to be and if not, interview experience is always good eh! interview isn't till Sept anyway, so ages away.

Macca for fridge and elecky, that's just typical of men with the veg do you mean the kids Noddy, or Noddy Holder?

Phoenix, yay for Race for life
