Yes Jas, they are shite. Hate to tell you this too pg but I reckon that potty will be next to useless, they pee over the edge! I got the baby bjorn potty chair in the end (3rd purchase) and it's great this Same goes for the travel potty's useless, unless you have a dd!

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/07/2007 20:16

Still auntyspan. My dd only has an hour during the day, but still goes to bed at 8 and gets up about 6. (I was up 5-7 times a night until 8 months, but let's not re-live that time!) My moniker has good reason!!

I remember those shots too Soupy. They were lovely.

I have a potty too (well, 2 actually) but only because I needed something smallish to make up the value of an order to get free delivery. No intention of using them just yet. Dd has sussed me going to the toilet though. Now if I tell her that mummy is just going for a wee wee she says 'wee wee' and runs to the toilet!

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/07/2007 20:17

Didn't mrm use a travel potty ok when she trained ds1? How else are you supposed to manage when out and about?

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/07/2007 20:19

This is the one that I got.

2boysmacca · 13/07/2007 20:31

I'm not so sure it's so important with little girls. Friends had no problems with little potties and travel ones. Ds tried it on one of the travel potties and it just fired at me. Afraid it's just the against a tree when we're caught short, even better once he mastered the art of a stand up pee! trying to toilet train them and encourage to 'hold' it down' is just too much all at the same time.

FlameDelacour · 13/07/2007 21:13

I looked up the underwater classes when you showed the photos - damn this Bournemouth living1!!

Things have really taken a turn for the worse down here. I'm on the whiskey

I have just watched BB for the first time this season, OMG they are dreadful!!!! Who the heck is that Charley bird, what a mouth she has on her!

mustrunmore · 13/07/2007 21:43

Yes, mrm did use a travel potty with no probs Well, not personally, just ds1 Er, he's also pooed straight into a carrier bag, which does just aswell once they're trained but still caught short!
Mrm also has one of those loo seats TBH, our friends use it more than ds1. But my biggest gripe was that the white started coming off a few months ago, so the whole seat is peeling now. It was from Bloomin Marvelous. But it isnt at all! Actually, ds1 just didnt want the little seat. He went from potty ('dont make me sit on the hole') to loo (I wanna sit on the big hole')

We have an old Mothercare (I think) potty; its quite a throne -looking one, with ducks on and 'going south' and its great... very deep bit for the wee, that you take out, so you dont carry the whole thing to the loo. Er, so deep that when I've been caught short I've used it Thats what comes of not having a seperate loo and bath! I like the look of yours csws, although it did remind me of a watering can we saw in Tescos today! You know I mean that nicely

2 hrs to get him to bed again tonight, so no run and nothing else done either.

Does anyone want The Da Vinci Code on audio cd?

KelBelle · 13/07/2007 22:57

Potty training sounds like a nightmare, I'm definately going to wait as long as possible. DS says "wee wee" too now and I tell him that is what he is doing when he goes in the bath So far I have only bought a stool for the sink which DS uses a lot to brush his teeth.

DS is poorly again, he had gunk coming out of his ear yesterday, also had a temperature so I called the doctor and he fitted me in within 10 minutes I said I thought it was an ear infection as it was the same ear as last time and he confirmed it so we have antibiotics. Last night he went down at 7.30pm but was up at 10.15pm really crying, gave him medised to cool him down and he went back to bed about 11.45pm and slept through. Was grumpy today but seemed a lot better. Gave him medised about 6pm though as he was a bit off colour.

Welcome AuntySpan!!

Flame - sorry to hear about your friend, hope they find out who did it

Chloe - hope your day was better.

I emailed a friend this week who I used to really fancy and have not seen him for 10 years. Turns out he has a baby boy born 2 months before DS and is also going through a divorce. We are going to meet up next week, I cant wait to see him!!!

KelBelle · 13/07/2007 23:00

Re the meetup - I dont think I can make it I asked Ex DH to have DS in a few weeks overnight as I wanted to go out (28th) and he said he would but yesterday he came up with an excuse that DS is not ready for overnight stays yet as he was really upset when he woke up. I think he doesnt want me going out meeting new people as he was fine with it until I said I wanted to go out for the night. It's so annoying but at the same time if DS isnt ready then I would rather wait so I will either have to bring him too and drive back late or give it a miss

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/07/2007 23:05

Oh Kel .
Couldn't you ask exh to stay in your house for the night, so that ds doesn't have to be in different surroundings? You can re-assure him that you aren't out meeting other men, as you're just with us (he's met me, so he must know I'm a good influence ).
Hope ds' ear clears up quickly.

Chloe55 · 13/07/2007 23:06

Just a quickie as having a night in with DH but we have discussed the weekend and he says it is fine for me to come to the piss-up - Phoenix, I will of course give you some petrol money and it would be great if you don't mind driving as my exhaust is blowing and it sounds like I am driving a boy racer car at the moment. Thanks.

Woohoo! Enjoy your night ladies!

Jas · 13/07/2007 23:09

Kel We need you there.

Chloe

No ta to the Da Vinci Code.

(The reason I still have a potty is also the one toilet, 4 people issue. DD2 is not good at waiting)

KelBelle · 13/07/2007 23:24

I know - I will try. I'll see what mood he is in on Sunday - we have mediation on Tuesday too to talk about finances and stuff so it may be best to get that out of the way first

mustrunmore · 14/07/2007 08:14

Kel, I'm sure Mrcsws would have ds Hey, the old friend/new man/whatever he is sounds very promising! It'd be a perfect set up!

Night from hell Going to go to the big big Tescos alone this morning!!!! Oh, to browse in peace...

KelBelle · 14/07/2007 08:58

MRM - hope you have a good shopping trip. You will have to get some rest a bit later on. I agree, this thing with my old friend does sound promising, cant wait to see him. I hope he doesnt leave it too long.

DS got up at 7.15am - I'm sure he is getting earlier and earlier. I have therefore stripped my bed and his cot, got the washing going, hoovered up, both dressed, DS has eaten some grapes (very unusual for him to eat anything in the mornings) and I'm on here!!! Going to catch up with Emmerdale shortly though as missed it all week.

Hope you all have a good day.

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/07/2007 11:00

at dh. He took dd with him to go and pick up the final cake for tomorrow this morning, and came home with only one of her shoes . Her other pair are too tight, so now she has NO shoes (except her posh pair for Christening), and he's had to take her out to buy another pair. What a waste. Just hoping he can get another pair the same, or goodness knows what she'll end up with .

Balloon filling proving to be a PITA. Shop that said they could do them the other day, and even quoted me a price for a specific service, now say they don't do that service (!!) so have had to ring round and find somewhere else, but they need us to drop them off this morning, and pick up at the end of the day, so it means an extra trip.

Meanwhile I'm up to my eyes in vegetables, which I'm preparing to make the bulk load of pasta sauce.

Rant over (for now ).

Kel - how do you manage to catch up on TV during the day? What is your secret to keeping ds amused whilst you do - I need tips?! Struggling to feel sympathy for getting up at 7:15 .

Jas · 14/07/2007 14:08

DD1 took ds downstairs at 8 when he woke (was also up at 4.30) and I got to lie in til 9

csws - I have emailed you No day out for us tomorrow, due to lack of working car.

I hope everything goes well, (and you get her shoes sorted.)

csws that lyric prog on tonight at 6.40 on itv1 don't forget

FlameDelacour · 14/07/2007 18:42

ARGH!!! Why can I not get through to DH?!?!

Trying to choose paint colours for the lounge - not the brightest of rooms, and a rented house... he wants cocoa (you can guess the colour of that!) or some deep red/blue colour?!!? a) it will make the room really dark, b) we have blue curtains and a blue/green carpet c) its rented - they really aren't going to agree to something dark.

I just want something pale and clean to brighten up the room.

He's all sulky because he thinks I'm being awkward.

Off out now, if I'm not back before it happens, good luck with Kipper's Prisoning

Phoenix · 14/07/2007 18:47

Flame - maybe compromise on one wall in one of his colours (eg. chimney wall) and the rest what you want. Our room is mostly warm beige with a dark brown/chocolate chimney breast.

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/07/2007 19:41

Bit late with your reminder Phoenix, but I remembered to set it anyway .

Jas. It is just the car and not dp not 'letting' you come isn't it? Hope you can find something else to entertain the girls locally instead.

Dh found the shoe . He went to buy some new ones in the same shopping centre as he was getting the balloons from, but the particular shop he went to didn't do children's shoes, so rather than look for another shop there, he drove to the town he was in this morning (to go to the shoe shop that we bought them from initially), and found it in the car park!

I have a feeling we're going to be dropping our nap quite soon. None at all today. I put her down for one, but she just chattered and moaned a bit, and after half an hour I got her up again, as she was still wide awake. Got her to bed half an hour earlier than usual though, and hoping that she has a looooooong sleep tonight, so that she's bright and perky for tomorrow.

Still lots of organising to do tonight, so will no doubt fall into bed very knackered later.

Oh, and period not arrived yet (thought I was due today, but exact ov day was just guesswork based on CM), despite bits of gunky stuff that I thought meant it was on its way (sorry, prob TMI!). Knowing my luck it will arrive in the middle of the service tomorrow .

mustrunmore · 14/07/2007 19:41

Nah, dont compromise Do it the colour you want!

Shoppping was great, as a friend called; she was going over that way anyway, so met me at Tescos, and gave me a lift home, so I could buy heavy stuff And waited while I ran into Ikea to pick up something for a another friend! And then she hadf some secret errands to do for which she needed help, so dh had the boys and her ds, so I had almost a free day!!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/07/2007 19:41

Oh yes, forgot to say, def agree with you re pale colours being the way forward.
