Hiya, had a terrible, terrible day at work - it is a highly tensioned place at the moment anyway due to a tribunal going through (and there's only about 4 staff so you can imagine how everyone seems to have to get involved. Anyway, the boss is effing and blinding at us all the time at the moment. I made a big boo boo at work, long story but it basically involved an enormous rottweiler cross st bernard, me not drawing up enough anaesthetic, me attempting to pin this enormous animal to the floor to prevent it biting, using my whole body on top of it to keep it down whilst it thrashed about, the vet trying to get more anaesthetic into it whilst shouting at me for not giving it enough in the first place. Never in my 8 years of nursing have I been as scared thinking I would be mauled by a dog the size of a horse. Not a good move, awful day. I spent all my way home crying

2boysmacca · 12/07/2007 19:46

Poor you. I'd have ran in the opposite direction....

Phoenix · 12/07/2007 19:46

Chloe sounds very scary. Get some alcohol down you and relax and let your dh do everything tonight

Phoenix · 12/07/2007 19:48

for the new thread btw

Jas · 12/07/2007 20:17

Flame.
Thanks for the thread though.

Chloe That sounds terrifying!
Are you ok now?

Flame - blue/greenish for the nappies please Can I also be really cheeky and ask you to bring a pack of liners with you. I'll pay you cash and save the postage then

Spent over two hours at the schools open evenings today. DD2 will be getting a male teacher next year. He is straigh out of college and looks about 15

Hello auntyspan - not seen you around before. Welcome. Do tell us allllllllll about yourself......

Phoenix · 12/07/2007 20:46

We've just decided we're off to see the new Harry Potter film tomorrow night.

I've got a day off work tomorrow due to another bloody waste of time strike (no day off this time so i'll be losing a days pay ) so i might do soft play as i haven't taken him anywhere for ages.

Jas · 12/07/2007 20:48

Hello Auntyspan

Phoenix - go to soft play now. It will be hell in a couple of weeks once the schools have broken up.

Phoenix · 12/07/2007 20:56

Oooops sorry hello Auntyspan

I know jas i realised that

Lewis is still awake and he's been in bed over an hour and half. He keeps crying too, its so unlike him.

2boysmacca · 12/07/2007 21:03

Dh is out for the night. He told me last week he had a meeting but never said he wouldn't be home at the usual time. Got a phonecall at 7.30 this evening Never occured to him to remind me this morning, in fact, it never occurs to him to actually speak to me these days

Hello auntyspan

Phoenix · 12/07/2007 21:12

CantSleepWontSleep · 12/07/2007 22:15

mustrunmore · 13/07/2007 07:53

Wondered why the other thread looked short, then found the link to this one!!

Er, am I brinnigng cd players to the picnic or the piss up? Confirm please!
Flame, I think you were bringing me chocolate for some drunken sexual purpose

Right. If anyone is in time to help me choose should the opportunity arise again, please tell me to choose going for a run rather than going for a drink Not drunk, but very very tired (and have nursery trip today!), and spent £5 needlessly (friend luckily paid for most of the wine). And I feel very bad for not running. And left dh with 2 non sleeping children.

FlameDelacour · 13/07/2007 08:09

Sometimes a drink is good though

Police have a 39yr old man in custody Sooo many flowers in the club doorway - going to take some down later.

MAMA this morning. Tesco this afternoon for more party stuff. So exciting I could pee my pants .

Chloe55 · 13/07/2007 09:10

Feeling better today, fresh day, fresh start. I am full of cold though

Did I mention that I am seeing a couple of friends on Saturday which I met on Facebook - haven't seen them for 5/6 years and we were best mates at school so very excited. However, I do seem to be out every weekend at the mo whilst dh stays in and babysits - he commented that we have no money and it doesn't help that I am going out spending the little we have - he totally has a point but I seemed to have agreed to do something every weekend for the next few weeks which I can't really get out of, eg. birthday parties of best mates (everyone seems to be turning 30 this year), a meal with my old work (which has been arranged for 3 months), a meal with my baby group (who I haven't seen for about 4mths and they have rearranged dates around me), you guys (which I have been really looking forward to for ages), we are also in London next weekend for our anniversary, we just can't afford it all and it is bloody selfish of me to keep doing things - I'd be livid if it was the other way round. So, watch this space - there's a strong possibility I'm not gonna make the meet-up, as well as cancelling a bucket load of other things and pissing people off for letting them down - Gutted, why can't I just win the lottery and then I could do what I wanted. It's not a definite yet but I need to be sensible and realistic. It's not just the cost either - I'd be well annoyed if DH gallivanted off every weekend - why have I got such a social life at the moment at a time when it's impossible for me to have one?

Chloe55 · 13/07/2007 09:10

Whoops sorry - welcome Auntyspam

2boysmacca · 13/07/2007 09:20

Not much on here. Toddler group this morning, might go for a coffee first, depends if I can get their trousers on time! This afternoon I have the glass replaced in my front door and the cat flap removed from the back door.

Happier this morning Jas. I was rather peeved to say the least last night. He did tell me last week he had the meeting but one would assume he'd have reminded me yesterday morning and not just waltz off without saying a thing. We always have an argument about his communication around my period when I get cranky.

MRM going out is good, makes all the running worthwhile. If you can't go out and enjoy yourself then no point in doing all the exercise. Well, that's my theory anyway. I was out Wednesday night and agree, it's the tiredness that gets you, I'm still recovering!

Hope it goes well on Sunday CSWS, weather supposed to be good
