Ok, well, I've gone as far as picking up a mooncup in the shop and thinking about getting one

Kneehighinnappies · 27/06/2007 23:08

I have to say nutty washable towels, think I will leave that one to you.

I wonder if there is a test for those?
see how addictive they are

JoMa · 27/06/2007 23:08

nuttygirl · 27/06/2007 23:11

Kneehighinnappies · 27/06/2007 23:12

geordiemacminx · 27/06/2007 23:14

evening ladies!!

I have been thinking about a mooncup for a while - will someone convince me?

JoMa · 27/06/2007 23:15

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Kneehighinnappies · 27/06/2007 23:16

PMSL @ "fairy hammock" such a cute name, makes me think of my fanjo swining in a hammock.

Still i will have to leave it up to you guys, I have far to much washing to do as it is.

You will have to come up with other ways to make me eco friendly.

geordiemacminx · 27/06/2007 23:16

them hippy types that go on weekend retreats to learn under-water bakset weaving and such like?

JoMa · 27/06/2007 23:18

are you one then? [scared emoticon]

weeonion · 27/06/2007 23:28

lol lol - thanks joma - i have been known to hang round parks and hug the odd tree or 2!
gmm - i was like nutty and though it woudl hurt the old nether regions but find it so much handier than carting round sanny pads and tampons (tho would always prefer tampons to pads!) i found it more discreet, less leaks (TMI) and i am less likely to get thrush than i didi with tampons.. also - buy it once and that is you! i used to be crap at making sure i had a supply of tampons in the house.

JoMa · 27/06/2007 23:29

yes go, please stop trying to convert me, IT WILL NOT HAPPEN

i best go to bed myself, i have both boys in with me

night all xx

OP posts:

I'm off to bed too.

night all xxx

JoMa · 27/06/2007 23:31

OP posts:
nuttygirl · 27/06/2007 23:31

WO - I've always found tampax uncomfy so have always used towels unless absolutely necessary!

I AM going to bed...I am!!!

Pesha · 27/06/2007 23:35

Just had a bit of a back ache that felt like labour back ache and i actually felt sad that i'll never go through that again Someone just shoot me now!!

Oh and dippy - hope you realise i was just teasing in that last text, read it back asfterwards and thought it could come across as me being judgemental or something but wasn't measnt that way at all

And how can they describe fairy hammocks as yummy ffs?! Nappies i get cos they go on babies bums and babies bums are yummy but sanitary towels?

And is it just me or does anyone else actually not mind the smell of their baby's poo - possibly might even say i like it

elkiedee · 27/06/2007 23:47

I get the impression that the nature of a local NCT group is just going to be a matter of luck, I don't know mine. My postnatal course tutor seems to be the NCT contact for everything in Haringey that doesn't have someone else to run it, and she doesn't actualy live in the borough, but a few minutes the other side of it.

I have a friend 5 mins walk from here who found the local NCT quite stuck up and snobby when she tried contacting them, however, her sons are 18 and 13 so I suspect there will have been some change in the people involved since then. I hope so.

Captain Dippy, maybe you should train to qualify as an NCT tutor, though I guess time might be an issue for you.

I would like to get involved in NCT stuff in my immediate area, if there's something to get involved in before my maternity leave ends.

The Haringey Local website on here mostly has links at the moment to quite expensive private classes and actitivities in the west of the borough (that's the posh bit, where I don't live). If I can find out about stuff nearer to here, I will have to suggest some links myself.

Tomorrow is the Breast Feeding Network drop in group, which is open to women to come along with their babies and toddlers, it's there to encourage breastfeeding but it doesn't exclude people like me who wanted to but failed.
