Just a quickie - don't think I will get on tomorrow so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Bella for tomorrow - hope the sun shines for you

HC - I am fairly sure your BBQ will have been washed out but hope you managed to have a good day anyway. Gorgeous photos btw.

It is my parent's Ruby wedding anniversary tomorrow (wow!) so big family party and I am sure Josh will be the star of the show as he is such a little show-off (although he only has 3 party tricks - clapping, waving and going 'wah-wah-wah' using his hand like a Red Indian!)

Blos- I don?t know if im more that you managed to fit everything in 1 case or the fact that you actually own a expensive suitcase while I make do with the £30 specials. I needed you to pack for me when we went as we had 3 suitcases for 1 week and I only had to pack summer clothes, I did take nappies, powdered milk and jars of food though as you can never be too careful.
HC ? Sophie looks so much older then 1 and Em looks exactly like you.

Ive added some holiday snaps btw.

KZ - I am a July baby too! 12th! 30 this year . I remember last year's birthday very clearly - mum was having chemo and could not make the birth as planned. She was very poorly. On my birthday, DP spent the day tidying up endlessly, I knew something was up. The next day, he goes out to 'the shops' and comes back with my mum, from London, who came up with my sister and family to see me. She was not meant to travel, missed her last dose of chemo in order to be able to come up (she never told me she missed it, but I guessed as she is not a good liar). I was so happy as I had been upset she would not get to see Newborn Bella.

Today has been quite emotional. Its technically the 52nd week, as I gave birth on saturday. So, this time 52 weeks ago, I was in Labour, 41 mins to the arrival of DD Bella. DP and I had a vintage bottle that mum bought us to celebrate us buying our first house, and we talked about the birth, how we enjoyed it, laughed at some of the memories, talked about mum and how proud she would be of her granddaughter, and what she would be doing if she was around to spend time with her. Also talked about DPs dad who died two years ago and how he would have loved her, as he always wanted a daughter, and she is the first grandchild on DPs side.
If I am emotional today, oh dear, what am I going to be like tomorrow?!!!

So, DP made carrot cake. I made fairy cakes. They both came out perfect. DP made sausage rolls using organic sausages - oh the little chef! We have made Pizza's, have veg sticks and humous, grapes, tuna sarnies cut into shapes (made tomorrow), quiche, chocolate marshmallows and Jelly and Ice Cream! We got a jelly mold and everything! Adults have some pasta salad, salad, olives etc.

We have wrapped the presents, put up the balloons and banners, the apartment is spotless and children friendly. DD has clean sheets, clean sleeping bag, spotless bedroom, and her clothes are sorted for tomorrow already . SO unlike me! 5 young children coming, two older children (god they will be bored!) and a good few adults.

I have never been so organised, and I am sooooooooooooo excited!

So, I apologise for the long long long post, but I am on a buzz, and dont feel tired! I have not felt this excited since I was at school going on a school trip!

So. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY PRECIOUS DAUGHTER ISABELLA. [proud mummy emoticon]

Have a good few days, I am back at work on Monday so might not be on until mon night.

Gosh, I'm a July baby too, 5th and I also am going to be 30 . HEard someone say today that 30 is the new 20, so think we should be looking forward to it .

Well, off on holiday tomorrow (fingers crossed they don't do any more airport "raids" like up at Glasgow). My Grandma will be doing her nut. She worries like mad at the best of times, but now this .... (Dad was also in London the night of the London car bombs).

Anyway, better make doubly sure that all our liquids are in the hold bag ! How am I going to pack DD's baby food and cartons ?? Wouldn't normally take any more than 1 of each, but since we're going on a Sunday, the supermarkets won't be open to do our shop until Monday.

Okay, better go....... will see you all in a week or so.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all of those while I'm away xxxx

FirstAtForty · 01/07/2007 22:03

Hi everyone

Just a quick one to say Happy Birthday to the birthday girls Bella and Sophie (glad the party went well yesterday HC, gorgeous pics of the girls)

Kbaby - fab pics, what a great little boat for DS!

I?m very behind with pics etc but lol at Junior and his antics with the DVDs!

Ceebee - hope your parents? party went well

Impy - we could certainly do with a bit of sunshine, keep sending it over - this weather is completely doing my head in! Washing in - out - in - out grrrrrrrrrr

Happy hols Bloss and Sohappy (though you won?t be reading this, you?ll be reclining somewhere nice, sipping wine hopefully!)

Well 2nd Jul was my due date, so it is technically Emma?s birthday tomorrow? well would have been if she hadn?t been so bloody tardy And yes it is so unfair about the frigging weather, why couldn?t it have been like this LAST year?

Emma?s fine, very very cute of course Bedtimes have been something of a challenge this week, don?t know if it?s the light evenings but she won?t go properly to sleep until it?s dark

Well better get off to bed, hi to everyone and sorry not been on much recently but tons of work on (boo) so MNing is a bit sporadic - once deadlines are over I will be free to resume my addictions though, thank the lord.

PS Youngsters the lot of you - I am Over Forty you know

usandnosleep · 01/07/2007 23:23

Hi all

Just popping on should really be going to bed.

Happy Birthday to the lovely Bella, I'm sure you were thoroughly spoilt!

Great pics Kbaby

F@F, Zack is the same, isn't going to bed until nearly 10 Yaawwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnn.

Nothing much going on here, working, looking forward to our holiday and planning Zack's birthday.

Zack is just adorable! He dances everytime he hears a bit of music he wiggles away- so cute!
He found a notebook and pen tonight and started scribbling so another gift to add to the growing list.
And when I sit on the floor he climbs on my back for me to crawl around which would be lovely if he didn't use my hair as reins!
No words yet other than the occasional mama and dada.
He has started to want to feed himself which is very messy and means mealtimes last double the time.

It's my 30th this year too, the 8th of July. Last year was me trudging around town trying to encourage Zack to make an appearance, he was due on the 3rd. We had a chinese take away because someone on here had gone into labour after a chinese meal

Right I'm off to bed, night all

FirstAtForty · 02/07/2007 12:39

Hi Us v sweet re Zack sitting on your back, he must have great balance! Emma would go flying within seconds

Happy birthday for next weekend in case I miss saying it at the time - I'm a July baby too (end of July tho') - gosh there are lots of us aren't there!

have good days all !! xx

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 02/07/2007 13:03

Hi Everyone

Hope a good weekend was had by all.

BELLA!! Happy Birthday! A bit late I know, but I hope you had a great time.

Fab pics, kbaby!

Lots of 30th's coming up this month then!
I cried when I turned thirty... Felt sooooooo old. The arthritis didn't help of course!! But since then I've been counting backwards, so my next birthday i'll be 28 again! Horaay! Much better!

Hi First!!

We had a lovely day yesterday. DH had to work, so it was just me and the babies. It was raining in spurts, so we donned the wellies, and off we went to the park, where we walked through the forest, collecting sticks, played pooh sticks on the bridge, jumped in muddy puddles for about an hour, and ran amok in the grass, and even played ball with a dog... I say we, it was mostly Joey, while Kayley sat in the pram laughing at him.
Kayley's almost there with the walking, but I've been saying that for a while now! She'll walk holding my hand and holding Joey's hand, the three of us squishing our way down the hall. Mind you she hasn't stood alone properly yet either, so it may well be a while.

Better go girls, have a good day.

Annie

Beadmum · 02/07/2007 14:11

Happy Birthday bella for yesterday, hope a fab day was had by all

hc - glad sophies party went well

so agree with you all, this time last year, roasting hot weather while size of a house, typical. was my due date yesterday so was thinking about this time last year, charlotte had to be late as well tho

cant believe how many of you have birthdays in july and are 30 this year, freaky. i was on honeymoon on my 30th in the sun, how i wish i was there now. i was 32 last month so seems a lifetime ago

pouring of rain and thunder here, was lovely and sunny this morning and came out of nowhere - right after i hung washing out of course

KittenKat · 02/07/2007 15:01

Hey all!

yesterday was a fantastic success. There were 16 adults and 5 children, 3 boys and two girls, all under 5! And one aged 13! Bella had the most wonderful time, she was happy through all of it, had a nap just before everone got her between 12 and 1, and most left by 3:30pm. She ate good food, played well with all the kids, had cuddles with everyone, no tears at all. She is such a happy child .

The food went down well, hardly anything left!

The only issue was that I babyproofed the place entirely as there were so many children (it is not always 100% baby proof, as one of us is always with Bella anyway, although more or less), however, as the weather has been so awful I did not think any children would go downstairs to the garden. They did, played magic spells with the 'couldron' bbq, with parental supervision (two 4 year olds), until about 1 hour later, one of them was spraying weedkiller into his 'potion' . What a bad hostess I was! . I completely forgot it was there! No harm done, kids washed hands thoroughly and no more play there!

It was emotional at the beginning. My BF gave Bella a painting of a child on the beach, where DD loves to be herself. It was a picture that my bf had since she was a child and used to be on her wall. I cried. Then she gave Bella a special card for her memory box. My BF was there as our 'doula' when DD was born, in place of mum (a nurse, very handy!), and the very next morning when she got home, she wrote down her thoughts of the night into a card for Bella, and waited until yesterday to give it to her. It was very poignant and I cried, again. Yesterday was a special day for my BF too, as she was such an important part of DDs entry to the world.

I am sorting out some photos from yesterday, and will post some for you to look at once I have done them.

I cant beleive how many of us are July babies ourselves, and how many are going to be 30! We are hopefully going away for a few days, recharge our batteries.

First day back at work, it was good. Back in on Wed, so a nice short week this week!

US - DD feeds herself now too. Its soo messy isnt it? I have taken to feeding her without a top on, as she can pull the bibs off, and gets into such a state! Luckily I am not a tidy obsessed person, I just let her do it, and clean the floor, walls and table afterwards. Oh and of course her!

Annie - well done Kayley with the walking!

KittenKat · 02/07/2007 15:03

oh dear. I have just reread my entry to make sure it read ok, and I am tearful again reading the bit about my bf's card . How emotional eh?!
