In honour of Sophie's impending birthday this week, I thought I would start a new thread....

Gosh, can't believe this first year has passed so quickly !!

HC - So sorry to hear your sad news, today of all days.... hope Sophie has a better day at her party at weekend. Sounds like it could be croup if she's making barking noises. Maybe a quick check-up at the gp's and a nice steamy bathroom.

Hope all the other babies are okay.

Sat up waiting for dh to come home. HE's been away for a week again (he goes over to our house in france doing it up for a week every month). Know exactly what you all mean about your dp's asking how you coped when they weren't there if you ask them to do something. SO annoying isn't it. DH does it all the time. Makes me feel really cheeky for askinghim to change dd's bum or feed her etc. Always says he's tired from work etc (seems to completely forget that I work full time in exactly the same job as him, exactly the same shifts), alswo forgets that every month he disappears to france (ok so he's doing physical work), while I'm left on my own here to work full time shifts AND lok after dd on my own ..... Rant over . Sorry.

Still no teeth properly through here. Can just about see a bottom one, but it's still not popped through. Needless to say she is chomping on everything !

Have ordered myself a set of bugaboo covers from poshbugs on ebay as my birthday pressie from my mum !! Everyone says they shouldn't be a birthday pressie, but I don't see why not (can't really justify buying them otherwise!).

Better go, They're home !!! OFf to bed !!!!!!!!!!

FirstAtForty · 27/06/2007 23:26

no I can't believe it's a year either

I sometimes have a look at last year's July thread and get misty-eyed...

Morning girls

HC sorry to hear your sad news((hugs))and hope Sophies fine for the weekend.

Was just gonna hang out loads of washing but it's pissing down again Grrrr. Ds1 has given me loads of washing and ironing to do for tomorrow cos he goes to Wales with his gf and her mum and dad for two weeks. Was bloody annoyed cos i asked him to get stuff down days ago and he's has left it till the last minute. Says he's had the flu, well boo flipping hoo!!! Oh and also wants me to sort out a hair cut for this afternoon,i give up.

Can't complain about my DH not pulling his weight. He has always been very hands on with housework and childcare. His day off tomorrow will be taken up with a trip to costco and cleaning th 3 bathrooms and a general tidy up in the kitchen, living room, dining room and playroom cos i have potential new mindees visiting on Saturday.I do "reward" him rather a lot thoiykwim lol.Since losing weight/getting married i have been up for it more than i have ever been.DH's wishing this had happened years ago lol.

Dd's still have coughs/colds and Eilidh still has no teeth. She is bfing during the day again which is really great.Have really missed it and plan on doing it till she wants to stop.Ds2 was almost 3 and dd1 was 22 months when they stopped so it'll be whenever she gives up.

Ds's last day of school tomorrow for 7 weeks(i think). Will be nice to spend time with ds2 while ds1 is away to wales.I often think he gets left out by me.I am always rushing around after ds1 and busy all the time with the dd's.He never complains so will try and get my mum to babysit and i'll take him to see HP and go for dinner or whatever.

Anyhow better go,my asda shop has just arrived.

Haven't mentioned anyone but HELLO and hope you're all doing ok xx

Yeah, hes said mama today. My gorgeous little boy is also walking now if you just hold his one hand.

Dh never ever takes the both of them anywhere on his own. I will die of heart failure the day he says ?oh it?s a lovely day why don?t I take them to the park? If I don?t arrange for us all to do something wed stay in all the time. Of course if I have to go anywhere ie shopping, up to mums etc I have to take 1 of them.
JeanieG ? we had a cleaning rota as well but after 4 weeks DH conveniently forgot about it.

Ceebee- with you on the arms. DS is into everything. Mostly pulling CD?s out of their covers and then pushing them across the floor while he crawls along, DH is not impressed.
Happy belated 1st birthday for Sophie yesterday.
Sorry to hear your news.
Wow weve all made it this far! Just think this time last year we were all begging for cooler weather and on time babies.

Right must go as Ive heard the cats food bowl moving and the cats not in.

Hi all

Sorry not had time to read all messages but just to say that Sophie has settled better tonight. Will see how she is later as it was a bad night last night.

The funeral is next Thursday and DH and MIL don't want Em to be there so I will ask if nursery can keep her a bit longer that day.

Am still going ahead with Sophie's B'Day party on Saturday as PIL would like me to.

We are deffo going in the Caravan in July for a few days so that will be nice. Hope Oxford is drier than Lincolnshire.

Bed time methinks-am reading a Stephen King book called Cell and it is fab but DH moans if I sit reading in bed so I have to go to bed earlier than him so I can read a bit.

Will catch up tomorrow-promise.

KZ - I think I gave you the wrong email address a couple of weeks back. jeff hyphen tilbury at tiscali dot co dot uk

TheGoddessBlossom · 29/06/2007 09:19

morning all, Bloss here reporting for duty.

HC - so sorry about your DH's nan. Never a good time, but such a shame it coincided with Sophie's celebration. I hope DH is ok, and the party tomorrow goes well.

KZ, wow about Roshi's sentence! What a clever girl, that's like 4 words in a row, that make sense!! Very impressed. If only to save her from a lifetime of men's toilet smells, she may need no other words at all! Except perhaps "My friend will pay" in as many languages as possible, I have always found that a helpful phrase... I sometimes don't post, but do read every day...

Legoland was brilliant, H totally loved it, and we were all completely exhausted at the end. The rain even held off until we were leaving which was even better. I tried to win H an enormous orange shark by shooting a hoop and failed, and at three quid a go it was just as well our ticket was free to get in!! No pressure or anything! I was Goal Defence in netball team, not Goal Attack and that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Funnily enough H didn't seem to understand.... My friend has two year old twins, and bloody hell is that hard work. One goes in one direction, at speed (I must admit H has his faults but at least he doesn't run off, it would drive me insane) and the other one just stands still and won't budge! So she didn't know whether to drag the other one along or peg it after the escapee! Very stressful for her poor thing. H just stood staring with his mouth open!

OMIGOD we are going to drown on holiday. Have just done a 5 day weather forecast for Bridport and it's solid rain till Tuesday. DH and I are dreading it to be quite honest, and have had discussions about delaying our departure until the weather clears, but what if it doesn't? And we've told H we are going tomorrow! Rain at home is hard enough, but when your retreat from it is 20 foot by 6 foot with a tin roof, then there is a huge risk of bloodshed. IOW is all too recent, [shudder]. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep your fingers crossed for some clement weather for us!

I will log on tonight, and then that's it for two weeks so lots of love to you all, and have a great couple of weeks without me, I look forward to some epic reading up on all your messages when I get back.

Love,

Bloss and the blondies.

Kayzed- Give Roshi a big hug from for being such a clever girl.

DD and DS are both full up with colds bless them. DS is taking great delight in pulling himself up on my legs and then sneaking a quick nose wipe in my trousers.
Since our hols he has started waking up at night again and is more difficult to get him down in the evening. I forgot how tiring being up at night is. That said he giggles at absolutely everything and its so funny watching him giggling away.

Blos- Your day sounded like fun. DD tends to stick to my side like glue so although very annoying at times it does mean she never runs off and always stays on the pavements. Our friend always has to chase her little boy around the park when its home time while I smugly just tell DD were going and she follows. I bet you DS will be a runner Enjoy your holiday and I will hope for some clear skies for you.

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 29/06/2007 13:28

Hi Girls,

HC, hope things are ok in your household today. Glad Sophie is a bit better anyway.

Bloss have a great holiday! If possible!

KZ, how clever of Roshi! I really think they learn a lot from their older siblings. I don't think Joey said anything til he was well over a year, but Kayley does seem to be saying things at appropiate times. Like 'ball' and 'gone' and such. Never a whole sentence though, like Roshi!!

No news really, just Hello to everyone

Annie

HumphreysCorner · 29/06/2007 14:39

Hi ladies

Beautiful sunny day here in Lincolnshire but sure as hell aint gonna last!

Bloss-Bridport is just gorgeous. We went there 10 years ago in the Caravan. A lady at Em's dance class has booked a cottage down there this summer. Have a fab time and ignore the rotten weather if you can.

kayzed-Roshi is so advanced bless her and so very clever.

Called in to see MIL today and she was all on her own and panicking because she thought her house was a mess (it wasn't).

Have 2 stys on my left eye and I have just felt something hurting under my right foot and I do believe I have a varucca. GGGRRRHHH!! Must have picked it up at swimming last week.

Well, must get on with party preparations. Love to all.

Whose B'Day is next?

Ceebee74 · 29/06/2007 16:51

Bloss - have a fab fab holiday. Sympathise with you about the rain - me and DH are both off work next week and planned loads of day trips but I think the weather might put a stop to that!

KZ - what a clever clever girl Roshi is. Josh still hasn't said a recognisable word - let alone 4 together.

It is Pav's lo's birthday on Sunday (I have been very organised and printed off the list!) then Roshi on Wednesday.

Right 10 minutes till hometime - yippee!!

OP posts:
ImpyChica · 29/06/2007 16:52

Have a great holiday, Bloss. Finger's crossed for decent weather.

KZ - Rosh is a genius!!! Ry only says Mama, hiya and yeah (and most of the time I think it's wishful thinking that he's really saying that!)

Hope you LOs get better soon Kbaby - poor loves.

Hope you feel better soon HC - one thing on top of another for you at the moment {{{{hugs}}}}

I think Pavlov's LO is next on the birthday list for July 1st.... Ryan is on the 5th - we started opening pressies today to space it all out - he's got so many!

Met up with someone through MN yesterday in the park in Madrid - we had a lovely time!!! Hopefully make it a regular thing.

Hugs to everyone. Impy x

TheGoddessBlossom · 29/06/2007 18:57

I have left a whole foot square in the suitase for DH's stuff! Seriously I think my Goddess powers have come to full fruition in this epic pack, I have got a family of fours clothes for two weeks in one of these! Not bad huh! I have been very frugal indeed in what I am taking, which HURTS as I am addicted to clothes and feel physical pain if my shoes don't go with my trousers, but had to make way for the fact that I have to pack almost everything the boys own in case of rain or sun!! The sacrifices I make...

HC - you poor thing. Stys are horrible! I didn't think veruccas were allowed if you were over 15? You poor thing, go and have a spa day on us. xx

Right really off now, thanks for all good wishes, take care all of you.

xx

ImpyChica · 29/06/2007 19:20

BTW - June 29th was my due date. So this time last year I was upping the hotness of the curries and going mad for physical exercise (especially of the horizontal kind ) all to no avail of course but it is weird thinking back....

HumphreysCorner · 29/06/2007 21:27

Forgot to put some B'Day pic up so here are some. Hope to get some more tomorrow.

JeanieG · 29/06/2007 21:41

HC-Sophie looks beautiful. Can't believe how grown up she looks. Fab.

Bloss- Happy hols to you!

KZ- By the looks of it you're not going to be able to get a word in edgeways once she gets going! I reckon she'll be a proper little chatterbox. Abbey can say dada, mumma, baba, bye, hiya oh and she says Shar too (for both Ross and Sian. Ross is not impressed!) She knows what the doggy says and the piggy too. She can't do two words together though!

kbaby- hope your two are feeling a bit better soon. The broken nights are awful aren't they. Abbey is still waking at least 3 times a night.

Hiya Impy. How's things in sunny Spain. Wish I was there. I can't stand this rain.

Hiya Annie and Ceebee and F@F and anyone else I've forgotten. Probably loads of people but I really don't mean to.

Speak to you soon

Love Jeanie
xx

PavlovtheCat · 29/06/2007 21:52

Firstly I need to say Belated Happy FIRST Birthday to Sophie. I am sorry I did not get on this week to say it on the day. Bad July Mummy . I am sorry also to hear your sad news about DHs grandmother .

Has anyone else had a birthday that I have missed . I hope I have not been too slack.

DD Isabella - she is ONE YEAR OLD on Sunday!!! We had planned a BBQ in the woods, but due to shite weather, it is now going to be at our place . We live in an apartment! Shall be interesting, but we are doing Jelly and Ice Cream! DP has practiced baking a Carrot Cake for her birthday cake, and I am going to take the plunge and do fairy cakes tomorrow. AND, get this Chef DP attempted to make pizza dough himself so we can do our own for the party! It was a pain in the ass, so we bought bases in case and are using them instead!

I have beeen run off my feet, so busy with pre for return to work next week, wedding plans, family stuff. Its been stressful, and well, nerves are a bit shot, but getting through it all!

DD went to her first Aqua Baby lesson today, head dunked under the water, she loved it! Oh the water was sooooo warm!

Bella is walking. She has taken a few steps, and today, took 3 steps in a row. She also walks confidently holding my hand [proud mummy emoticon].

Let me read some threads and I will post, before crashing into bed.

HumphreysCorner · 29/06/2007 22:16

Pavlov-fab news about clever little Bella. We are planning a wet BBQ tomorrow for Sophie's party

Will be on to wish Bella a Happy 1st Birthday on Sunday.

Oh, let's have a list to make life easier. Copy and paste and add your date.

Sophie-27th June
Bella-1st July

KittenKat · 29/06/2007 22:50

I think KZ did a list, but it cant hurt to refresh our memories eh?!

DO you have a backup plan for your BBQ? or do you have marquee/gazebo?
Oooo - I have the marquee for our wedding! It arrived last week and I have not put it up yet! Ooooh, I could 'check it' to make sure its all there, on sunday.....
Let me go pester DP, he will say no, course he will, but worth a try....

KittenKat · 29/06/2007 22:52

Oh, btw its Pavlov - you like my new name? I am trying something different!

sohappyicouldcry · 30/06/2007 00:05

Just been writing the invites for dd's party. Can't get over how quickly it has gone. Only just getting used to the fact that I've got a baby, and now she won't be a baby much longer !!!

Need to give the house a REALLY good clean before the party, but got a copule of weeks yet thankfully .

Won't be on for a week from Sunday as going over to our pad in France. Crossing my fingers for better weather. Why was it SO hot last year when I was like the side of a house, and this year, when I'm back on shifts and therefore have more days off to be able to spend in the garden, does it rain EVERY day ????

Better go to bed now. Night ladies xx
