In honour of Sophie's impending birthday this week, I thought I would start a new thread....

yeah that's rotten Annie about your Mum's eyes, poor thing.

Yeah IKWUM KZ, it was always me in the corporate world going for bevvies after hours, and on the kick offs and client booze ups, and DH at home alone, before the kids of course and me becoming a housewife! He used to go mad when I didn't ring, not because he is clingy but because he realised how out of that part of my life he was at the time. Looking back on it now, it wasn't healthy for our relationship at all, bloody good fun though, god we had some wild times. Sigh.

Right so how do I stop Toby waking up at circa 4am and screaming...... Going to start a thread in Sleep about separation anxiety, wonder if it's that.....

Ceebee74 · 16/08/2007 19:23

Bloss - glad you are feeling much better - being ill really is the pits isn't it?

First - poor Emma (and you) screaming for half an hour. You must have the patience of a saint to carry on driving through that. Lol at Josh just wanting her for her dummy - I am sure my son is not that mercenary

KZ - you must also have the patience of a saint to pick DH up at 4 in the morning - your children are so easygoing aren't they - have a feeling that they get that from you

HC - hope the car is fab. What colour is it? DH used to have a Grand Vitara but I don't think he felt it was 'manly' enough for him so he swopped it!

Here are a couple of photos from the meet-up ladies.

here is a photo of 4 of the children - unfortunately it was taken before Jeanie arrived and Roshi is hidden by her beaker.

here is a photo of Josh practising his chat-up technique by wrestling Abby to the floor

here is a photo of Josh from when we were in Stratford just because it is cute

Hopefully KZ will be along with better photos.

Just booked our holiday at last - a week in Anglesey at the end of September. Not quite the holidays we are used to but Josh is worth it! And I am sure Anglesey is lovely

It is our 10th wedding anniversary tonight so must go and show willing and spend some time with DH (even though I have got some work to do!)

Just a quickie as off out with my friend in a mo. Took my gorgeous new car (Troy) out this afternoon and some bastard has scratched the bonnet with a key while I was in a soft play centre.

HC. NONONONONONONO!!!! The total fuckheads. So sorry.

kbaby · 16/08/2007 22:13

HC- What complete and utter knob heads!!

Dh is out tonight at some work do, so its me and mumsnet all night bliss.

Had DD's friends over today and they managed to get every single toy out and the house was a tip. How can 2 children make so much mess. She enjoyed herself though.

Ds is still not walking even though he can. He will walk holding your hand and walk if you pretend your going to hold his head but thats it. I am also never taking him shopping again. He screached all the way around asda and wouldnt let DD sit next to him ( he kept pushing and hitting her)

Drunk confessions.
I asked DH to pick me up from xmas party and when I bent over in his 3 day old car to put my shoes back on I managed to throw up in the footwell.
And at a party we had at the house I had to stuble to bed leaving all our friends down stairs and then shouted to Dh that id been sick and missed the loo, Had to throw out a bedroom and bathroom carpet. Needless to say as I dont drink much these incidents get brought up all the time.

I want more pics of your day out. Glad you had a nice time.

TheGoddessBlossom · 17/08/2007 06:40

Toby awake at 5.09am this morning, drank 6 ounces of milk, screamed for more, woke H up, all downstairs at 5.50am. I'm going to take a banana upstairs with me now and give him that as well as milk at sparrows fart too to see if he goes back to sleep afterwards, as he is sitting here eating two oatibix and a banana. Is it hunger waking him up? Might introduce tea AND Supper for him before bed. I dont' care if he gets portly if he sleeps longer, getting desparate....

TheGoddessBlossom · 17/08/2007 06:46

my worst drunken embarrassment - I was 13 and went to a party at the house of the people I babysat for. Drank most of a fruit punch that had a bottle of vodka in it, don't remember much after that except attempting to do a back flip on the rug in front of the fireplace in front of the entire party. Passed out during, came to being carried up the stairs, threw up the plate of lasagne I had consumed onto their cream shag pile, and was ill for 2 days. Have not drunk vodka since. 3 years of drinking at Uni, 3 years of drinking whilst travelling, and 7 years of drinking in a sales job have not beaten that night for embrassment factor.

AnnieOleHouseElf · 17/08/2007 13:29

Hello girl

Thank Crunchie it's Friday eh?

Kayley had her MMR this morning, and her last pneumococcal. She screamed at the first, calmed down, then saw the second one and nearly jumped out of my lap to get away. Poor baby. She's fine now though.

Mom's consultation went well. They told her she has leaking blood vessels causing a build-up of fluid. So they lasered one eye, and they'll do the other in two weeks. That should clear it up. The underlying cause though, is possibly diabetes, so she has to go in for blood tests today.
Hopefully at least, she won't lose her sight.

Bloss! 5am!!! Noooooooooooooooo! Hope you sort it out. Maybe some porridge or something just before bedtime?
K is still waking at least twice, usually has milk. She's so figdety in the bed, me and DH are hanging on for dear life on either side of her...

HC, no! B&st&rds. Poor Troy...

Ceebee, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
Lovely photos of the babes. The Maclaren Gang! I'm keeping a close eye on your IC thread!! [nosey]

KZ how was your night out?!?!
I hope you got DH to pick you up at an ungodly hour!!!!

Have a good weekend everyone

Annie

AnnieOleHouseElf · 17/08/2007 13:30

Obviously that should have been 'Hello GIRLS'. Not just one of you!! x x

HumphreysCorner · 17/08/2007 14:56

Afternoon ladies

Annie-do hope you mum is alright. My mum has type 2 diabetes and has been told that her sight may be affected in the future. Hugs to her at this distressing time. ((xx))

Bloss-you need to sort those early morning wake up calls

Ceebee-10 years eh? Congrats! We have just done 6 years on the 11th August. Great pics of the gang. Can't wait to see one of all you glamour girls.

Your tales of drunken antics make me titter. Cannot drink gin or vodka due to previous events.

So here is a pic of the new man in my life-Troy

FIL tearing his hair out as he got the Building Society to write the wrong initial on the cheque so the poor lady who sold us the car can't cash it. She now has to wait for FIL to do a direct payment. He is grumbling about charges involved to do all this but as he is only lending us the money we will end up paying them no doubt He has also summoned us to a Mafia meeting tomorrow afternoon. Rang him up to thank him for helping us out and he said 'I want to see you two so call in on Saturday'. Honestly, the mind boggles.

Took Em dancing last night to do her wiggly worm bit and told them she couldn't make next week as she has been invited to a nursery graduation party. I was told that wasn't an acceptable excuse and if you are part of the dance troupe you have to be dedicated. You can only miss it if you are either away or ill. Was a tad put out TBH as Em didn't ask to do this, they asked her. Should have said she was on holiday.

Right, better go or it will turn into an epic.

Love to all

KZ - what fantastic photos (couldn't resist a peek even though I am at work )! You really are clever with the camera aren't you? And well done for getting up all those stairs with Roshi and Chilli . Glad you had a good night out too.

HC - echo what everyone else said - the b**ds. But Troy is VERY nice - no wonder you were so keen to get him.

Annie - for your mum. My mum also has type 2 diabetes so has regular eye checks.

Hi to everyone else - will post more later when I am not meant to be working

kayzed-as usual, stunning pics.

Is it just me that gives their car a name then? Although, I did go out with a lad in the RAF who called his car Helen.

Well girls, after talking to some other mums at dancing tonight I have pulled Em out of the wiggly worm class (haven't told her yet though). Apparently, in the weeks leading up to the competitions you have to go to more rehearsals and have to plan your holidays around dancing. Er, we want to start using PIL caravan alot more so it isn't going to work and anyway, Em starts school in September and I think 2 nights a week will be too much for her. Also want to start swimming lessons for her and there are only so many days in a week!

Right, won't bore you any more with my ramblings.

Bye for now.

MaeWest · 17/08/2007 19:24

so the obsessive dance class stories are true HC! Seems mad when the kids are so young. We have a locum swimming teacher as it's school hols and our regular teacher is away and she is obsessed with doing things 'properly' e.g. keeping their legs straight when they kick so they don't get into 'bad habits'. And she doesn't let them sing any songs or play with any toys - poor babies! It's not like I'm prepping him for the Olympics...

MaeWest · 17/08/2007 19:25

also, meant to say, lovely pics KZ. Deffo want to be in on the next meet up... there will be another one won't there?

TheGoddessBlossom · 17/08/2007 20:46

oh great pics KZ, although seeing them has made me even sadder about not being there, honestly I am so sad about it, I was having dreams about going I am such a freak.

HC - Troy is truly magnificent. Seriously. That is a proper car. Don't blame you about pulling Em from the classes. Let us know how the PIL interrogation goes.

Had a great day despite being bone tired. Town for jobs followed by park and picnic, both boys then had an hour in bed while i did various housework type things, then round to my parents for playing in their enormous garden with Harry's JCB, and tea and bath time there, while DH at the pub. Parents are off to Oz for a month on Monday so last time I'll see them for a bit, but planning a few days there with friends for picnics and thingsm their garden is great for that sort of thing. They want to sell up and move somewhere smaller, I am being actively negative about that idea....

Gave Toby huge meals today, lots of snacks, then half a big banana as he sat on his change mat at 6.30pm followed by 6ozs of milk. We'll see if it makes any difference. Will take the other half of the banana upstairs with a bottle for him to have at whatever heinous hour of the "morning" he wakes up tomorrow. It cannot last forever, repeat, it cannot last forever....

Morning ladies

Me too v. sad that I couldn't get to Warwick. Just too far for little old me on my ownsome.

Thank you for your kind words about my car. Honestly, have yearned for a Vitara for about the past 10 years and even had a Troy fund but never managed to save enough as every year the price increases. Troy is nearly 2 years old so alot newer than my last car, an Astra (Alex)

Will report back later after the Mafia meeting.

Have a good weekend girls.

TheGoddessBlossom · 18/08/2007 08:58

well it made zero difference. He still woke at 5.09am, chatting away to himself, practicing his new words like wower = flower, and WHOO WHOO = choo choo and aaaaweeee = Harry, which is all very sweet but FGS! Went in at about 5.45am and gave him the banana and milk, and he went back in his cot for more noisemaking until DH got up with them both at 6.30am.

On the plus side DH has been a total angel this week. He isn't drinking any less, more if anything, but isn't the ogre in the morning that he normally is when feeling a bit dry, and this morning I got my two hour lie in, heard no shouting or arguments, and it was total bliss!

Have checked out all the photos and theyre fab

kz - thanks so much for the info re buggy. The maclaren quest looks fab, went to toys r us and checked it out in the flesh, took dh up today to see it and their display model was broken so not purchased as yet.

your meet up photos were great, glad you all had a great time, also sad to have missed it, wouldve been a fair trek for me though

hc - glad you got your car, troy looks super

bloss - poor you and your early mornings, does he have a long sleep during the day or is he just a very wide awake boy?

annie - good news about your mum, she must be so relieved (((hugs)))

Been a bit manic here, had friends visiting lots the last couple of weeks as they were on holidays from work. Back to baby groups next week, had been avoiding the city centre while the schools were off as it was so busy and i hated it trying to manouvre the buggy through it all but now schools are back calmness has been restored

Charlotte is doing well, still no steps but standing for longer now and walking with any toy that will move along with her she can also walk quite far holding onto 1 hand now too.

I know i said i would do it ages ago but finally joined the gym last night think i'll go tomorrow since dh is off as he is away with work in newcastle next week so wont get a chance then. actually looking forward to it, back eating well again after lots of cakes and chocs couple of weeks ago so motivation is back, hurrah!!
