nuttygirl · 12/06/2007 22:24

Oh but have to add this one...

Years ago I went out for a meal with my parents, sis, BIL & their 2 children. Older one says through the meal to me "Do you fancy my dad?" Me, "No". My mum "Does your mum fancy your dad?". Nephew says "Yes", my mum "How do you know". Nephew replies "When we stayed in the caravan they had sex" . My mum "How do you know?", nephew replies "cos I heard mummy saying more paul, more"

nuttygirl · 12/06/2007 22:25

Should have added he said the last sentence very loudly in a room full of people!

Ooogs i have tried to explain to her what hard work it would be, i asked how she would feed three babies, 'um one on each booby and er....have three boobys?' I think she was joking
But I will tell her one of 'mummy's friends on the computer' has twins and says DONT DO IT She has a girl in her class who has an identical twin sister (she was in same class as both of them last year) so think thats prob why.

OOh had my bravest ever bf'ing moment yesterday - feed ds in the sling walking around tescos He was really screaming and when he cries and the kids are moaning and im trying to do things i cant stand it and get so stressy so went in changing room, flopped tit out, stuck him on, draped muslin over and went out and finished shopping Everything was covered by muslin so dont expect anyone even knew what was going on but felt quite pleased with myself if a little paranoid about the muslin falling off!

Oh good on you Pesha!

Right think I'm gonna try to go to bed and leave DH to sort the baby out. Strangely he's playing with her on the baby gym... think he's gonna have a late night. Must keep calm, must keep calm.

EllieK · 12/06/2007 22:46

no time limit on taking babies swimming, depends entirely on the baby in question and the temp of the pool

also, is totally possible to take them on your own (and i should know )

have taken Joe already

just make sure that your pool has the baby changing unit thingys so you can lay them down while you dress

I did wonder for a second ellie, people at me alot in RL but soon realised it was about your profile

EVERYONE I know in rl who have babies are bottle feeding, have nothing against that except that im kind of left out on conversations about feeding and would just be nice to have someone to talk to about bfing.

Although lots of positive comments from dps parents about bf'ing and his step dad made a comment about how long his mum bf dp for, didnt say how long but implication was that it was a very long time which is nice and makes me feel alot more comfortable feeding him when im there (feeding ds2 that is, not dp!). Especially as SIL has had her baby and I thought would also be bfing so we wouldnt feel so awkward if theres 2 of us but she's bottle feeding.

good morning folks. ellie - thanks for the thread roundup - brill to read. almost like our report cards!!

up doing the early morning expressing after c'sfeed. she is always ready for action at this time and full of smiles. i tend to feel guily that she has to go back down but no way is the day starting for us all at this hour!

good on ya pesha for feeding in tesco. glad the boob didnt pop out in ther freezer section! i havent managed to be so brave -- the best was b~&Q car park.

a quick question - dp's granny died at the weekend. funeral on thursday - a long drive away. dp has said for the bubba and i not to come - long day etc etc. now i have heard rumours that the family is not so happy with this. i would go to support him but to be honest dont think it is that approprite and also would prefer not to trek a 7 wk old acros the country - also give that she feeds every 2 hrs at the mo'. what do you reckon?

maveta · 13/06/2007 07:18

Morning! Weeonion I would go with your and dp´s instinct and stay at home. I think you just have to block your ears to other people´s opnions, they might not like it but you guys have to think of your lo´s comfort and wellbeing before everything and if they can´t understand that..

talk about turning a corner with bf-ing- yesterday I was in a big dept store when I needed to feed N. They showed me the feeding room which was basically a toilet with a chair where the loo would be. Hideous. I sat there for 5 mins before I thought, sod this, I´m not spending half an hour staring at a stinking public loo wall. Whacked on a vest top under my t-shirt (that I just happened to have on me!), pull the t´shirt up and pulled my boob out the top of the vest, stuck him on, slipped the t-shirt down a weee bit so it rested on his nose and off I went pushing the buggy with the other hand. All the way down in the lift, through the store, 15mins walk up the main shopping street until I got to a cafe where I could have a water and finish feeding in peace.

Repeated on the other boob on the (packed) train home!

I´m so proud of myself!!!!!

EllieK · 13/06/2007 08:15

GO MAVETA

well done you, that really is brave, i'm not shy about feeding but I think i'd have been too nervous to do that!

Joe only wanted to feed off one side this morning, at 6am, followed by deciding it was playtime so when i got dressed i was seriously lopsided have encouraged him to feed again now so i don't look as odd

well, today is day 1 of the Ellie&Joe Show, off to meet Eca in a short while

Morning all.

So many posts.

Maveta, well done you is all I can say! A true woman - multitasking!!

CD, glad your phone is ok hun, and hoping you are feeling brighter today.

Pesha, pmsl at your ds's comment, and in fact all the lo's - what they come out with is truly hilarious!

Have again forgotten everything else!

Feel ok today, although finding it all a bit same old same old. Have both girls today, all day, with gym tots and swimming to attend! Oh Joy!

Need to go, as there are some squawking noises from the moses basket.

Catch up later.

Hope everyone is ok. xx

Katy44 · 13/06/2007 09:55

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 13/06/2007 10:13

Can't be too long as P is pretty unsettled & will probably need a feed soon .....

Sod it, I'll whack her on and pop back in a sec .....

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 13/06/2007 10:13

No. Actually, I'll warm up the bottle of EBM I've got in the fridge & get DH to do this one .....
