hi sokl.

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down. It must be a real landmark when they are old enough to go to school. Great, but sad too eh? xx

Sexonknackeredlegs · 12/06/2007 21:13

Ange, gorgeous pictures, although I have been lucky enough to see Izzy in the flesh!

Hi eca. It is fab that B is going to be off to school - she is sooooo ready for it. It is just me being a sentimental old fool! Don't thnk I should have had a glass of wine as it has made me tired and teary!!

nuttygirl · 12/06/2007 21:29

Hi Eca and SOKL.

Ellie - wow, in a magazine...is fame and fortune to follow? . They could sponsor the Ellie & Joe roadshow! Seriously though, I think it's fab.

So my HV suggested a mum & baby swimming class to me but it doesn't start until sept (baby had to be 4 months old anyway). It got me thinking tho, DH & I would love to take Erin swimming but can anyone tell me the basics...like how long she should stay in pool for and that kind of thing?

nuttygirl · 12/06/2007 21:29

Oh and the pics were fab Ange.

(I knew I'd forgotten something!)

LesleyR · 12/06/2007 21:47

Nutty I think they advise about 10-15mins at first. Advice on here it's an NHS page.

About the July meet up. i've just had a look and Roundhay Park has now been suggested too. Am going to watch thread to see if they make a decision. You're in Morley aren't you? I can give you and Erin a lift if needed. We NEED a day out I think.

Pesha · 12/06/2007 21:47

Ellie very exciting bout the mag, might have to go and buy a copy to have a look.

Dylan peed on his face the other day - at the drs! Quick wipe with a baby wipe and carried on as normal!

Had bit of a meltdown earlier, kids were playing up on way home from school and then couldnt stand the mess in the house and dp is worse than the kids for leaving crap lying about so i sorted a load of stuff out and started hoovering thinking it'd stop dylan crying but needed new hoover bag. Anyway ended up in cupboard trying to find a bag on verge of tears, dylan screaming, nath whining, i was soo tempted just to get in the car and go. DP got up and got dylan, i hoovered, bitched at dp and sat down and fed dylan and eventually calmed down. Still feeling pretty pissed off with dp but thats about alot of things. Him playing cricket all day every f'ing saturday leaving me with 3 kids to entertain for one thing But nevermind eh!

Have spent like an hour or something writing this, keep getting distracted!

oooggs · 12/06/2007 21:48

tried to catch up but can't work out the curtains things with cd

Nutty - took James swimming at 4 months and after 4 min was told to leave pool as he was turning blue. Not a good start, he hated it as liked warm water. Didn't manage to stay in for more than 10 min until he was a year old, loves it now and would stay in all day.

Hope everyone is ok - struggling with bedtime, but thats a different post

eca · 12/06/2007 21:49

sokl - I'm getting upset at the thought of moving T out of his moses basket !!! I will be a wreck when he goes to school!!! I guess it will give you some special mummy and K time too.

Hi Nutty haven't done swimming yet. I understand that you need a pool that isn't too cold (have been told ours is a bit chilly for small babies). One with a baby pool is good. Errr... really don't know what you do if they poo in there though !!! Do those swim nappies really hold it in???????

oooggs · 12/06/2007 21:52

which edition of PP ellie, May, June or July? want to get the right one

Ange - Jake & Izzy are lovely

eca · 12/06/2007 21:54

Pesha hon, you sound exhausted!

Hi oooggs! at J turning blue!!! CD hasn't got any curtains at home except in kiddies rooms. So some of the april ladies are passing on ones they've done with.

Katy44 · 12/06/2007 21:54

Will be on an MN break (ish) for the next couple of days, we have someone coming to look at the house on Thursday night and it is a tip! So any non-T time will be spent cleaning and tidying. I'll pop in but send me straight back to my cleaning, and if you think I'm lurking, tell me off.
Take care everyone, don't anyone do anything exciting until Thursday night / Friday morning

Katy44 · 12/06/2007 21:56

flounce!!

Katy44 · 12/06/2007 21:56

(I've always wanted to do that )

oooggs · 12/06/2007 21:58

cheers eca, sorry dippy mine went to recycling recently, need anything else.

All maternity clothes and newborn clothes currently on ebay, 0-3 mth stuff will be on there soon at the rate Jack is growing

Anyone heard from Twinkle our other Cornish friend?

nuttygirl · 12/06/2007 22:00

Thanks. I think the small pool at the leisure centre should be ok temp wise as they use it for parent & baby classes although I will check as there seems to be a min age of 4 months imposed (maybe that's cos of the temp). Erin should love it cos she really likes being in the bath (often cries when we take her out).

I hope swim nappies DO keep it all in now having visions of me going to public swimming session with Erin and ending up filling the pool with Erin's poo!

Lesley - If that's ok with you I might take you up on the offer of a lift! And yep, I'm in Morley.

elkiedee · 12/06/2007 22:00

nuttygirl, I'll try and ask my brother about baby and swimming, Gareth is a lifeguard and kids' swimming teacher and I've heard him having some conversation about this subject. He and his girlfriend are on holiday right now but I'll call him when he gets back, and I hope I might get to see him when I'm up in Yorkshire.

I have a vague memory of a 20 minute limit being mentioned, chlorine etc. I'd love to take baby swimming but dp can't swim so that might be a bit of a problem - I would think with a baby it's probably better to have two adults there if you can.

Pesha · 12/06/2007 22:02

Oh had to go chemists with nathan yesterday, packed full of people sat in silence. Nathan says 'mummy look - medicine for cars, whats that mummy?!' Turned round and its a packet of performance condoms with pic of a cars speedometer on front! What do you say to that?!!!

Seriously, what do i say cos we'll have to go back at some point and he will ask again, i blanked him this time and pretended i didnt hear but that wont work again. And 'grown up medicine' will result in 'but what for mummy?'. Damn 3yr olds and their incessant questions

[grin

oooggs · 12/06/2007 22:03

elkiedee - think I could get away with the reverse???? 1 adult & 2 babies

oooggs · 12/06/2007 22:05

Hi Pesha, my 3 year old wants to know when the twins are going back in mummys tummy so she can go back to work?????? I don't think so

Pesha · 12/06/2007 22:10

Loads of posts in time it took me to write that

Thanks eca - think i am abit tired, feel ok in myself most the time but can see its affecting me in other ways than just feeling sleepy. He still wakes every 2 hours most nights.

But he is snoring awayn on my lap at the mo, very cute

Pesha · 12/06/2007 22:14

lol ooogs, nath keeps asking about more babies coming out my tummy, not a chance in hell!! Perhaps i should just tell him thats what the condoms are for!

Oh and maia, aged 6, has decided when she has babies she's going to have triplets Not if she wants me to babysit she aint

eca · 12/06/2007 22:16

lol at condoms Pesha! Wouldn't know where to start with that one!! Those 2 hour feeds are a killer.

Flounce away Katy! Hope you manage to get the house looking lovely!

oooggs · 12/06/2007 22:16

You tell Maia that triplets would be a nightmare from a twin mummy

James asks questions that I can't even answer

Yes I agree, 3 is enough (I only planned 2 )

AngeG · 12/06/2007 22:18

Hello all

Reading your stories about DD/DSs reminded me of what Jake said after pre-school on Friday.

He came out with a picture of the life cycle of a frog/tadpole. My mum asked him if he'd been learning about frogs to which he replied "no granny we didn't do french today"

eca · 12/06/2007 22:19

ooggs - not seen twinkle for a while. Also a few others have been off for a bit. Bugmum? Doghouse? Hope they're ok and just enjoying their bambinos
