Tili · 15/06/2007 19:35

Hi
SOKL Alex is 7 weeks now and is taking roughly 6 oz each feed.
Glad to hear MIABT is ok.
I have to say that although I am a bit sad that Beth is starting school I am also quite looking forward to having a bit of peace. She is a lovely child but she constantly needs something to do and if she hasnt got something to entertain her then she becomes a pita she is a very loud little girl and is very hyperactive.so she can wear you a bit thin.

speak of the devil better go and see whats the matter.
take carexx

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 15/06/2007 19:46

Hello!! Someone pleeeeeease tell my DD2 it is sleep time ....... Sigh .....

Need to go & wash down walls in spare rom ... joy ..... will pop back later.

Ellie - if you want / need / think counselling would help; then push for it- just ASK!! Am @ how easily they offer AD's though - absolutely bloody madness .....

nuttygirl · 15/06/2007 19:54

All you formula feeders can I ask what bottles/teats you are using? At the mo Erin is 9wks and is using avent bottles and I've just switched from the teat with 2 holes to the ones with 3 holes but not sure it's making much difference. You all seem to be giving much more formula than me...Erin will only take about 4.5oz sometimes 5 if I'm lucky.

oooggs · 15/06/2007 20:18

I am using Dr Browns (B Free) with size 2 teat. About 6oz per feed every 3-4 hours and they are 11 weeks.

Having a real down time at the moment . Have just found the thread where Dippy announced the twins arrival and all you kind messages which has cheered me up. It has just been so hard tonight and ds1 has been pushing it all week. Last evening on my own for 9 nights, at last some help.

Sorry to drain, but it has just clicked, I am feeling upset and emotional and period has started, haven't had on for so long I had forgotten what to expect. At least I know why I feel bad

liath · 15/06/2007 20:27

Well done for getting through the evenings without help, oooggs - I hate when dh is on lates. Chocolate is scientifically proven to help PMT - it must be true, I read it in Cosmo years ago .

octo · 15/06/2007 20:32

Good evening all - am totally exhausted - really oooggs - you deserve a medal . I am so looking forward to going away next week. Couldn't get into Fifteen for lunch at all so going to give it a miss - but does look nice.

I was given a voucher to go to the Bath thermae spa - thinking about going tomorrow or one evening next week - need to have some 'me' time. May go hunt down voucher now and tell dh he will be in charge of all 3!

I'm off to bed now - hope everyone feels chirpier tomorrow

Sexonknackeredlegs · 15/06/2007 20:42

Tili, we are on 6 ounces as well, although I make up a 7 ounce one before she goes to bed as she seems hungry, although often falls asleep after only taking about 5!

Nutty, I am still using 1 hole teats and Avent bottles. Katie is the messiest drinker ever - bibs are drenched, so think moving to 2 holes or more for her would be a nightmare.

Does Erin fall asleep or does she just spit it out?

Ooogs, sorry to hear you are on a bit of a downer - not surprising with what you have on you plate.

Huge hugs to you.

Hi Liath!

nuttygirl · 15/06/2007 20:47

Well sometimes she falls asleep but quite often she takes half the bottle, then we get her wind up. When we give her the bottle again it takes ages to get her to keep her tongue down for it and she seems to take a mouthful and sometimes swallow (usually spluttering a bit) or spit it out. It often seems like she has more wind so we've tried letting her have a kick and different positions for winding but doesn't seem to help.

Sexonknackeredlegs · 15/06/2007 21:13

Nutty, how frustrating. Don't know what to suggest tbh. If K falls asleep, I tickle her feet, stroke her cheeks, and wind her over my shoulder. Usually works, but sometimes she is just too knackered.

Keep at it!

I am on to my second glass of wine - Christ knows ho I will feel tomorrow! Dh still not bloody back!

oooggs · 15/06/2007 21:16

octo you will have to come back next year to try fifteen

trying to find an awning on ebay to go with our touring caravan to make going away easier

DH is coming home earlier tonight, about 10.20pm can't wait, told him that I felt like walking out this evening, at least he is supportive, hope the rains stops so we can at least get out this weekend.

oooggs · 15/06/2007 21:17

Ellie hope you are ok, I shouldn't moan, hats off to you, you do the bedtime routine on your own everynight. Go Girl

oooggs · 15/06/2007 21:24

before I pop off to bed, also to add that I am seeing the physio next week for my 'shot through tummy muscles'.

Was told when in hospital that I would been seen within 4 weeks and HAD to be seen within six because of the state of them. Well it will be 12 weeks by then.!!!!

oooggs · 15/06/2007 21:24

now I am talking to myself - next to see a shrink not a physio

oooggs · 15/06/2007 21:25

wish I had a life like the rest of you or even something better to do anyway I am switching off now.

Night Oooggs xx (to myself) I am cracking....

WestCountryLass · 15/06/2007 21:27

We've bought a new car! Don't get paranoid Octo, we have bought a C8 too (I asked Octo what car she had when I saw her and now I have bought the same).

DH is the IT Consultant for a Citroen dealership and they knew we were on the look out so they called him as soon as it came in (it is not brand new, but will be new to us!).

Will make my life easier as i have to put my shopping in the footwells as the double buggy takes up the whole of the boot and we can't have any of DSs new school friends back for tea as there is no room for them.

Out of interest Octo, do you have yours all sat 3 in a row in the middle row of seats?

octo · 15/06/2007 21:28

aha - found voucher and going tomorrow evening - 2 hours of bobbing about in spa waters - hoping the lilypadz work....

have hedrin'd myslef after boys got nits again - and added some fake tan in prep for getting into swimming costume - done nails and now ready for bed!

I have no idea how much milk ernie gets with bf - sometimes he latches on really well and goes for it - other times he faffs about.

WestCountryLass · 15/06/2007 21:33

Is your SO around then Ellie or does he work late? I also do the bedtime routine on my tod every night, DH doesn't get in from work til 8pm+, in fact come to think about it I do most of it on my tod as he leaves for work early too.

octo · 15/06/2007 21:37

wcl - yes - all in middle - but if they are being pits - will chuck one in the back! I have a 53 reg - don't have the electric doors or tinted glass. One thing you should know about before winter is that it has an automatic heater which kicks in when really cold as the car is so big and it can produce smoke from the pipe under the car - completely freaked me out when it happened the first time - thought we were going to explode - but it is fine - people do give you funny looks though LOL

Also - if they are in the boot - I let them in through the boot! They can stand up in the car which is great and when the boot is open you can stand under it to keep dry when its raining!!

octo · 15/06/2007 21:37

pita not pits!

WestCountryLass · 15/06/2007 22:03

Thanks, all very handy to know! We haven't collected it yet, one of the sunblind things is broken so they are fixing it and it needs valeting as only just arrived. I haven't worked out how to move the seat to get into the back, I assume it just slides forward. Was funny as I took it for a test drive and had to stop on a hill and was like 'where has the hand break gone' what with it being on the other side. It seemed big but not too cumbersome to drive.

zazas · 15/06/2007 22:16

Quick hi

Can't stay - have to give DP some time !

But have read your posts and feel like I know what is happening!

All OK here well relatively really.

nuttygirl · 15/06/2007 22:43

Going to bed soon. Dream feed not effective with Erin...she has her jaw clamped firmly shut !

my mouse is about to die (that's my pc mouse not a live one...it's needing charged - a sign I've been MNing too much )

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 15/06/2007 22:54

Walls all washed down & ready to paint - hurrah! Friends having DD's 1 & 2 tomorrow PM for a couple of hrs so we can get a coat or two done while DD3 hopefully sleeps () .....

Sooooooooooooo much respect to all of your ladies doing bedtime routines by yourselves - haven't had to do that in quite a long time - very Blessed - Am crap without DH around to help ...... pathetic eh!!?

Off for quick bath (covered in dust etc ... yuk ....) & then bed ......

elkiedee · 15/06/2007 22:55

Ellie, sorry to hear about the depression, I don't know what it's like to be you but I've nothing but admiration for what you manage to do with a new baby and another very young child, on your own.

What's up with the housing people? Is that the council (town or county)?
