Morning all

Thanks for round up Ellie

Having trouble dressing dylan, he's now definitely too long for newborn clothes, arms legs and body, but too skinny for o-3, any trousers just fall off the second you pick him up and he looks swamped by all his tops! Bless my poor skinny little boy, need to fatten him up but my milk just aint doing it Dr was saying perhaps its cos he's so active he's burning it off, as soon as i lie him on his tummy he's got his knees up under himself, pushing with his feet, bum in the air but head down cos he's got such a big heavy head

Katy44 · 13/06/2007 10:37

Pesha - that sounds familiar, T loves being on his tummy and can get his head from one side to the other, but not actually lift it! I'm worried about him getting carpet burns on his forehead

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 13/06/2007 10:53

Bless your little wriggly men - P can roll onto her side ..... quite disturbing!

DH gave P the bottle of EBM so I was able to do lots of exciting things inc putting on a loads of washing, putting a load of washing on the line, doing the washing up and drying up and making DH a banana milkshake .... .... P now sleeping in her bucket (what we can the car seat) in the garden.

Ange - You little girl is cute, cute, cute, cute .... Can't wait to meet her!!

...Looking forward to welcoming the Ellie & Joe Show too!

elkiedee · 13/06/2007 11:31

elkiedee · 13/06/2007 11:32

oooggs · 13/06/2007 11:35

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 13/06/2007 11:44

Raining!!!!? Bloody hell - it is boiling here - really glorious day - You should shove your LO's into your private jet & buzz over to Eastbourne right now!!

Right, DD2 awake, so going to go & extract her from cot .......

AngeG · 13/06/2007 11:48

Morning all...eather fab here today!

Haven't got a lime got of time got to pick J up from pre school.

Thanks for the updates Ellie - you're a star.

Just wanted to share a bf story. Went shopping to West Quay shopping centre (girls from the SE meet will remember it.)Had been there a while shopping and Izzy was getting very unhappy and hungry, but I was eating a thorntons ice-cream(prorities). So I sat down undid my top latched her on and put muslin over her...all with ice cream in other hand, then got up and finshed shopping, holding Izzy feeding in one hand and eating the all important ice cream with the other Was V proud of myself.

Thanks to all the lovely comments about my gorgeous children, not that i'm biased

Back later

Lots of lovexx

mammyjo · 13/06/2007 12:46

Hello. Feeling today. Just wanted to come on and catch up which I have now done. Hope everyone is ok. May be back later, just feel shitty.

mammyjo · 13/06/2007 12:47

Sorry, just read that - what a crap post! Just having one of those days today. Ds told me that one of the boys in school called him fat boy. Just found it really upsetting. Am probably blowing it out of all proportion in my head, but am having visions of him being bullied and he is only 4 years old.

Katy44 · 13/06/2007 13:00

mammyjo What a horrible thing to say, hope he's OK and it was a one off

Would anyone be interested in some small dangly green oasis earrings? I got them as a Christmas present, don't have pierced ears! I couldn't find them on the oasis site, so I'll try and upload a pic later. Please someone take them off my hands, I'm having a clear out and don't have room for jewellery I'll never wear!

liath · 13/06/2007 13:20

Sorry you're having a day Mammyjo, your poor little boy - awful how these things get to you when you're feeling a bit low anyway.

Ds seems to be allergic to daytime sleep so I was quite pleased he had his jabs today as he's been asleep ever since !

LOL at all these BF exploits. It's going a lot better here too and I've cracked how to feed lying down so night feeds are great now. Ds always seems to wiggle down the bed to boob level & I reckon he'd undo my bra if he could. He's obsessed !

Ellie, I loved the round ups, thanks so much for doing them - a great reminder of who's doing what. Have you heard from Matthew, bet he's having loads of fun.

It's horrible here, wet and cold. Just waiting for a friend to come round with her little boy so he and dd can lay waste to the house.

mammyjo · 13/06/2007 13:28

Hello again. Have just been sent a discount code for dominos pizza. Its only for orders placed online I think and it gives a 50% discount. Only thing is that you have to order at least £30 worth of food but then you get it for £15. I would normally end up spending at least £20 anyway. Code is - JUXQIUWT
Its apparently meant for sky customers. I got it from the money saving expert site. Its valid until June 24th. Tried it too and it does work.

runnyhabbit · 13/06/2007 14:01

hi all

Been a bit preoccupied, lots going on. Will try to catch up at some point, but could really do with your help -

W is now sleeping for longer at night - going from 11ish til 6ish, BUT, he is still sleeping on me. Wasn't a problem until recently, but now he's wriggling about so much, I'm worried something will happen (have already found him under the duvet) During the day, he'll happily sleep on a bean bag, or in the car seat, but the only way he'll sleep in his cot, is on his front. We're very wary of this, as dh niece died from cotdeath (he found her) and all info says to lie newborns on their back. W can be in the deepest sleep, but as soon as he goes into the cot, all hell breaks lose. And J then wakes up. In the end, I just keep W on me, but I'm not sleeping now because I'm too scared to

Bramshott · 13/06/2007 14:23

Hello - haven't posted much over the last few days but have been doing a bit of lurking.

Mammyjo - sorry you're having a down day. Sending you hugs.

SOKL - I know what you mean about the school thing. DH went to a parent's evening at N's new school on Monday and brought home loads of stuff which made it all very very real. I felt like it was only the other day she was the size of Orla - how can she possibly be off to school! Also freaked out a little because I had been told that she'd be part time till half term with the "spring birthdays", but have discovered that this year they are classing "autumn birthdays" as up to the end of January so she'll be full time in week 2 - argghhhh! I know this is more my reaction to a change in plan than worry that she won't cope, but it still seems very sudden.

Runny - poor you and DH, I can see that would be worrying. Nothing very useful to say really - DD1 was like that, would only settle on us, but luckily DD2 is much better. I guess you have to do what's right for you. Can you try putting him down in the cot for naps in the daytime so he gets used to it? If you do put him on his front, how about one of those movement monitors for your peace of mind?

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 13/06/2007 16:52

Popping in quickly as DH is cooking dinner.

{{{{{{hugs}}}}} to mammyjo - what a nasty horrid cruel thing to say to a 4 yr old (even if it was by another 4 yr old) I can understand why you would feel sad - Anything to do with my children always brings out surprisingly fierce emotions in me!! It's normal!

runny - If he sleeps best on his tummy, then personally, I would let him - Laying them on their backs is just a "fashion" thing - In 3/4 yrs, they'll be saying it is safer to lay them on their tums. I can understand your anxiety in light of your DNiece's sad death though. I would say - go with whatever "feels" right - a parent's instincts are pretty incredible & ususally v.accurate ..... As long as the monitor is on, he will be ok. {{{hugs}}}

Gotta go - Super Boobs required ......

nuttygirl · 13/06/2007 16:53

Afternoon,

Felt a bit sicky all night, probably something I ate.

Mammyjo - sorry you're feeling down.

RH - Don't know what to suggest. Sorry about DH's neice . I'm sure someone will have some advice.

Congrats to you Maveta...very brave!

Have just been writing a letter of complaint to my council. They started a real nappy incentive - choice of a free trial pack or £20 when you spend £50. There's v little info on the website/in leaflets and the cashback does not include nappy acccessories...although they don't say what is classed as an accessory. So I thought about getting some wraps (rather than the plastic pants we've been using) and having the cash back. Rang up and apparently wraps are considered an accesory WTF...if you didn't have a wrap the nappy would blummin leak piss everywhere. My terries didn't cost £50 and were bought in the last tax year so can't claim for them anyway (even tho children up to 12 months are eligible). So am having the trial pack instead.

nuttygirl · 13/06/2007 16:54

Hi Dippy

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 13/06/2007 17:01

Hi Nutty!

WTF are your Council playing at - bunch of monkey!!

nuttygirl · 13/06/2007 17:17

I know, useless isn't it...and with Octo lending me some Rikki's I'd almost convinced DH to let me buy wraps and get cash back

SIL's council offer a starter pack worth over £100 and £30 cash back.
