you choose - for you or for your bubba

I can't believe the May thread is so excited that their babies are arriving. That time in our lives seems like soooooo long ago .

Diva, she plays runescape. Ds1 used to be into that one but he doesn't like the way everyone is waiting/hoping you'll die or trying to kill you so they can get your stuff He plays final fantasy now.

Must go and nosey more thoroughly at that dress site, maybe I'll spot one for my sister who hasn't found the right dress yet.

Muppet, I think you should keep up the riding too. I'll be throwing myself into the atlantic in the summer. Life is for living.

divastrop · 13/06/2007 20:41

rosy-final fantasy is dp's religion i think,it 'saved' him

we should all stick to what we do best.in dp's case, thats playing pointless computer games in order to become thee best, and in my case thats moaning with other women

mossy-i will have a proper look at that site(when ive rinsed the dye off my hair or i shall forget and end up looking like pandora peroxide)but i wanted a dark colour dress anyway(dont tell anybody but im not a virgin).dont know what siz e i am though, according to their size chart i'm a 16 round the waist,14 round the bust and 12 round the hips.

sazzy-what are you going to wear to the 'do' then?

divastrop · 13/06/2007 20:43

i mean the picnic...d'oh

not here...fairies...

sazzybee · 13/06/2007 21:04

This is what I'm wearing diva. www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_1 00011000118772311556-1 But I thought I could wear it to both things as it's cotton so I reckoned I could 'dress it up or down' (a la trinny and tranny )

I don't need to bf at the 'do' but I will have to on Sunday.

Anyone got any ideas? I've got a pretty black skirt and black tshirt but they're not very summery really. And look crap with sick on your shoulder

sazzybee · 13/06/2007 21:05

Sorry - just read your updated post - doh me!

Booboobedoo · 13/06/2007 21:37

Sazzy: I love that dress! Can you really not whip a nork out the front? I'm off to Debs on Friday to find a dress for a wedding next week. May copy you...

Diva: those dresses are so cute. My only remaining gripe about having a boy is that I can't legitimately dress him in stuff like that. He is, after all, my living doll. (Not walking or talking yet, thank god).

Mossie: sounds like Bertie & DS may indeed be related! Hope you and I both get more sleep tonight.

DH came home and apologised after seeing how raddled I look.

Thanks for the cuddler idea Muppet. DS has a Taggie, so I may try that tonight. (Btw, I would be out riding if we were in the countryside).

Piffle: Jonny's turned into a pretty good day-napper too, although he stays in a pretty light sleep, so I can't do any noisy housework.

Rosy: thanks for the sympathy

spongecake · 13/06/2007 21:56

hi mossy, riding bareback depends on the horse doesn;t it, and your experince... as long as you have a hat on should be ok. at least bareback you can feel them tense up under you better, you can always jump off- being careful they don;t whip round and run you over

my baby adores his muslin cloths, which is handy as we have 12! and they are easy to replace. someone gave us a cuddly thing, but am worried he'll lose it one day and won;t be able to replace it.

i like that dress as well, but can see myself with it over my head whilst i bf, nice...

on tv yesterday, they said they were going to legalise bf in public.. is it illegal then?

foxcub · 13/06/2007 22:04

OMG sorry I can't keep up with you lot!!!

Mossy I lurve those dresses - they are gorgeous

Muppet - I'm sure riding is OK as long as you are careful.

oooh lost the plotagain

Where is Kitty..?

Monti got offered a modelling job today. A MN friend has an internet business (Eco friendly ethical products) and wants him to model baby clothes

kittywits · 13/06/2007 22:18

Hello busy day today, ds1 had an interschool sports thingy. Spent the whole afternoon chasing a very dertirmined 17 month old round. For someone of such great bulk boy can she move!!
Can't catch up with your news today, I'll try tomorrow

divastrop · 13/06/2007 23:07

i had a look at all the dresses but that one is defo my favourite.

its ds2's nursery school trip tomorrow.to a forest.i have to go with him,and im taking Elsie.feck....

Shrinkinglily · 14/06/2007 08:00

Mossy-I think one of those dresses will be perfect for my sis and I've sent her the link.

Diva, Final fantasy is like a religion to ds1 too. He has been into it for years on playstation. His favourite is 7. He is all excited to hear your dh is into final fantasy. He is called Takoisma on ff11 cerberus server. Maybe they have 'met'

Mossie · 14/06/2007 09:17

Good morning!

Mil has taken Bertie for the morning with a huge bottle of EBM to give me chance to
a) sleep
b) have a really deep restful luxurious bath
c) take the dogs on a lovely walk

c) might have to wait though given it's chucking it down!

This afternoon I'm getting him weighed again, and going to speak to the hv about his feeding, see if she can recommend anyone. And then on Friday I am going to the bf clinic in the local hosi as the bf councillor is back from holiday! Because even with copious amounts of prozac I am still convinced something ain't quite right.

Foxy get you with Monti the model!

Spongecake, it isn't illegal to bf in public, but it is legal to ask a bf mum to stop, iyswim. So they're trying to make it illegal for anyone to ask you to stop bfing. I think!

Booboo hope you got a better night... I didn't but I will catch up on sleep! Girls do get better clothes... but boys get better toys (well, I know I'd prefer this to this !!)

Diva / Rosy glad you liked the dresses! I wanted everyone to wear purple at my wedding but it didn't happen I didn't insist on it in the end!!

Sazzy couldn't you pull the dress to one side of a nork to bf? I'll see if I can finally put those CDs together for you as well today!!

Right... off to have my deep bath now... lovely!!

muppethasakitten · 14/06/2007 10:03

Ye Gads never knew that about bfing in public! Is it legal to punch the person who has asked you to stop breastfeeding?

Thanks for the advice about continuing with my riding lessons. I don't want to stop but I guess there a more precautions i could be taking with the old safety issues. May actually go to a better stable... more expensive but prolly better/safer tuition.

Foxy - you'll have to let us know where we can see Monti!!!

Kitty? I can feel it in my waters... it's your turn today...

Good luck at the hosi mossy.

Mossie · 14/06/2007 10:10

It should be legal to slap them around the face with a ridiculously heavy HH cup nork.

Shrinkinglily · 14/06/2007 11:02

Can you squirt milk at them?

Booboobedoo · 14/06/2007 11:59

Pmsl at the image of a BFing woman beating people up with her norks.

I did get more sleep last night, but only because I cheated and let him sleep on me for the entire night! I left him with DH at 6:30 while I went to the loo, and when I got back they were playing aeroplanes . So I made DH get up with him while I went back to sleep

Rushing out now, but will catch up later.

foxcub · 14/06/2007 13:39

PMSL at the milk filled norks on the attack!!

Mossy enjoy your rest luvvy - you deserve it with bells on!!

Diva - good luck for the school trip. DS1 is going on one too but I can't face accompanying them with Monti in tow. It'll probably be good fun anyway

foxcub · 14/06/2007 13:43

totally agree - boys have much better toys!

CallieNewMum · 14/06/2007 14:47

Oops bad mother alert, have just noticed DS has fallen asleep on his playgym mat. He's only just stopped making noise, honest. Have been stuffing beans on toast down quickly while he was occupying himself - can relax a bit now.

There, happily tucked up in the pram (him, not me..)

It's amazing isn't it that prior to this legislation people could ask you to leave somewhere for the simple act of feeding your child with the vessels nature intended for the job. Fine to use them to sell trashy mags and newspapers though. you'd think if it was a place to eat, they'd be glad not to be bothered with requests for hot water to heat a bottle up. I mean what do they expect a mother's response will be - "no problem, i'll just remove the food source from my hungry baby's mouth and listen to them scream for the next half an hour while I find somewhere a bit less fascist to feed them in."

Muppet, if it keeps you sane, keep riding. . I used to love it as a nipper. Nothing better than a big beast between your thighs .

Sazzy, lovely dress. I actually went into a Kookai shop the other day and thought - oh yes, clothes. I haven't bought a thing for myself since DS arrived and I'm starting to feel that I need a little bit of me-focus now and again. The woman who runs the baby massage class, who is lovely, also does massage on adults and I'm thinking of treating myself before my money dries up completely in a few weeks' time. Could do with some TLC on my neck and shoulder blades which feel constantly knotted from carting babes around.

Where have people got to? Has anyone heard from Jay or Leo? They've disappeared. Also, I assume Kiwi is still in Oz.

I'm going to take DS to be weighed shortly and am hoping I can get to the clinic and back without getting rained on. Then later my sister's having an end-of-year exhibition for her pupils' work as part of her teacher training course so we're going to that. These days, that sort of counts as a night out, even though it starts at 6.30 and I'll probably be back by 7.30! But still.

Mossy · 14/06/2007 15:38

Yes, quite a few people seem to have gone missing, I wonder how Jay is getting on with "The Boy" Jensen?

Hey do you like my new name? It's what I always wanted (only just got around to checking the nickname auction!)

Mossy · 14/06/2007 15:40

Although where have my photos gone and my profile?

Mossy · 14/06/2007 15:41

Ah, that's better!!

foxcub · 14/06/2007 15:58

Hi "Mossy"

Callie - PMSL at your post

Piffle · 14/06/2007 16:26

I used to ride horse/ponies up to national level in my youth (the bits that weren't mispent that is )
One bad accident too many at age 20 and that was that, oh I've had some corkers, one fall left me with 30 broken bones (incl skull) and in a coma hey ho... but I was back riding in two leg casts 6 weeks later.
Ah the glory/stupidity of youth.

I've not taken Finn to get weighed since his 6 wk check at home he's now 12 weeks and according to our digi scales at hoem he is putting on weight very well...
Well tipping it down here today - Finn has been quite tired - much more than usual and a little grumpy. I've got humdinger of sore throat so maybe he has too. but eh si being all sweet and cuddly though

Callie - did end up buying bug cameleon from another mumsnetter, my wrist is really hoping it is dead easy to push as my wrist is wrecked
Arrives monday I've been told. Am busy listing my wares on Ebay to help pay for the sodding thing LOL And now I need buggy board too
Right must dash dd is up from a rare nap and is HUNGRY!

divastrop · 14/06/2007 16:55

well,it was nice to get out of town for a day.but it was p*ing down all day and we had to go for a long walk up hills/paths etc.the lake district is a pretty grim place in this weather.ds2 enjoyed himself though, and Elsie loved being on the coach and looking out the window.

got home and dp barely looked up from his computer.im still waiting for my kiss+hug, there was a time when he would have grabbed me soon as i came in the door.clearly something isnt right.
