you choose - for you or for your bubba

I can't believe the May thread is so excited that their babies are arriving. That time in our lives seems like soooooo long ago .

kitty-some sort of viral rash i think as she has been sick 3 times this evening

Elsie did a very runny poo before.i hope it isnt rotavirus or something.

Elsie is 13 weeks today

callie-Elsie was born on jordi's due date.i cant believe she is 3 months tomorrow.

sazzybee · 08/06/2007 22:03

I wrote on the calendar (which has a space for stuff for Elliot but his diary is a bit empty) 'due a poo' yesterday. And he did one on cue! I don't mind the pooey nappy. Well not yet anyway and they don't seem to go up his back as much as they used to.

He's 12 weeks + 2 and I reckon he's probably about 13-14 lbs by now - he was 11 9 at 8 weeks and he's a lot fatter now!

I've put him in the cot for the first time today. He looks very little and lost in there

sorry to keep such a low profile girls, have been popping in but never got round to posting
we're doing fine here, em is getting chubbier by the day, a group of boys laughed at her 'ooh isn't that baby fat last week!!
she had her first jabs last week and was grouchy that day but fine since so i was pleased.
coos like mad so will be a real chatterbox
I'm busy busy busy trying to get a franchise up and running, teaching french in nurseries, www.lajolieronde.co.uk so that's taking up all my time right now, esp the evenings - mumsnet is being relegated!!

Piffle · 08/06/2007 23:28

Finn is just 11 wks
15lbs [gulp] 8lbs 3 at birth
Sleeps v v well - fully bf.

oh dear God Morocco just what this house needs...
another chatterbox
DD never stops considering she was non verbal til 3 yrs as well (sh is now 4.5)it's not always intelligible mind...

The weight thing? Dunno lucky I've got good genes I suspect (mum is ultra skinny plus tall lanky daddy) plus I never put that much on in pregnancy this time I guess, oh I'm long time follower of GI foods as well...
But I'm well flabby as am a lazy ass

eidsvold · 09/06/2007 05:28

dd3 is now 11 weeks - no idea what she weighs BUT was 8lb 4 oz birth. She is putting on weight though and now into 3 - 6 month clothing. Had to dig out some really warm clothing today.

Bloody freezing here - had some rain and then the temps dropped and the wind came up. Been pretty bad down south.

We took the girls to our local zoo today for something different.

just 5 minutes drive from us and big enough for them to have a treat but it not to be a huge operation and have dd1 go into meltdown as she is tired and overwhelmed. We also managed lunch out as well.

not much else going on here - bank holiday weekend. Cold weather.

Had my student nanny yesterday - not sure how it is going to go. She seems a bit young BUT if I don't give her experience - how will she get it. She was fab with dd2. Dd1 was at school and I think the nanny will not be sure of dd1. Anyway have her all next week - very busy week so that will be fab to have another pair of hands.

glad to hear everyone is doing okay albeit tired.

Foxy - go get 'em!!

sorry if i missed anyone else - my brain is just mush at the moment.

Shrinkinglily · 09/06/2007 08:24

Eidsvold the zoo sounds like a fun day.

Fox I read the thread, some of it was funny but some of it was really sad and poingnant(sp?) But I can just imagine you with pen and paper taking notes given your work situation. Let us know what you plan

Morocco good luck with the business. Great idea!

Hasan is 12 weeks 1 day. Not sure of weight, chubby though. Very chatty, sleeps well, hardly cries ever! He's a dream

Ds2 was outside the front door playing 7.30am being watched by ds1. I was in the loo and could hear crying and ds1 saying 'you have to come in, everyone can see your bottom'
Yes his dirty nappy was round his ankles.
He said to ds1 'where's mummy so I can cry at her'

Shrinkinglily · 09/06/2007 08:31

poignant...nearly right.

AmieR · 09/06/2007 08:44

Lunar - cute pic, that toy looks awesome!

Joseph is 16 weeks + 2 days last weigh in was at 12 weeks when he was 10lbs 6, taking him this week for a weigh in so will let you know the results.

Gonna ask the MW about giving him drinks of water during the hot months as he's bottle fed.. not sure if any of you know anything about this?

Got an invite to a weaning clinic for end of the month! that was a bit of a surprise!

kittyhas6 · 09/06/2007 09:07

Oh are we doing weight? ok Ronnie is 8 weeks and 13lbs 2oz. he's still pretty skinny

sazzybee · 09/06/2007 09:15

Amie - A weaning clinic? I thought that didn't happen till they were six months?
I don't think I'm ready to cope with weaning yet!

Rosy - PMSL at your DSs! So much fun to come

Is it winter there now then Eids? Glad you had a nice day out and hope the student nanny works out. An extra pair of hands has always got to be a bonus, even if she is a bit awkward around DD1.

Piffle - I reckon Elliot is probably about 15lbs. I guessed 13 but if he was 11lbs9 at 8 weeks, I reckon at 12 weeks, he'd have put on more than a pound or two. And he's well into 3-6 month clothes. It's been very sad putting away all his little 0-3 month things. Does anyone else feel a bit guilty when they look at things and realise that they only got worn once or twice. Seems terrible. What do you do with old baby clothes incidentally? Most of mine were loans and I'm going to give them back but I have bought things here and there and got given clothes as gifts.

Today I'm seeing a friend who I haven't seen for 2 years so a lot has changed! I'm hoping Elliot will be good tempered and charming - he seems to get tired and grouchy very quickly since he's had this cold which is really dragging on now - been just over a week. Is that normal?

Hopefully the weather will brighten up so we can eat outside.

Have a good day everyone

eidsvold · 09/06/2007 09:36

sazzy it was supposed to be winter and had been very very warm until this week when it started raining.

Finally winter here - gone from shorts and t-shirt to jeans, thick socks, long sleeved shirts, thick coats - well not quite thick woollen coats BUT temps in high 20's to low 20's during the day and from high teens to eight or so over night!!

eidsvold · 09/06/2007 09:39

Amie - with dd1 - just gave her some cool boiled water to help with hydration. Can't remember how much tough as it was almost 5 years ago now!!

foxcub · 09/06/2007 09:53

Hi everyone

Looking good for the weather here so might try a picnic in Kew later.

Am talking to that lawyer chappie later and am starting to relish the idea of a fight TNH

Monti (13 + 4) has really chubbied up as well the last couple of weeks and is feeding 2-3 hourly and sleeping loads so is about to grow again I think

He can hold little things and likes hitting things and laughing at himself in the mirror!!

LunarSea · 09/06/2007 10:25

Amie - I think they do the weaning clinics from about 4 months, because they realise that if they leave it until nearer 6 months a lot of people will have started anyway.

I didn't have the problem of giving water with ds1 as he was a September baby and able to drink out of a normal cup by the time it got hot enough the next summer for it to be an issue.

eidsvold · 09/06/2007 10:32

oops that should have been though not tough!!

divastrop · 09/06/2007 10:39

amie-i have tried to get Elsie to drink cooled boiled water in this weather but she just looks at me like im mad.i remeber with ds2 the HV told me to put an extra oz of water in his bottle if he wouldnt drink water on its own.

rosy-lol@your ds2 wanting to cry at you!your ds1 must be ver polite to use the term 'bottom'.if it were my ds/dd1 they would say 'arse' im sure

morroco-v.impressed at all the things you are doing.you must have alot of energy!

i have to take ds2 to a party at the leisure centre at 12.i'm not looking forward to it,a roomfull of 3+4 year old boys with a load of footballs and a bouncy castle.
ds2 was up at 4am this morning

i am still half asleep, and feeling a bit down and tearful

hope everybody has a lovely day

kittyhas6 · 09/06/2007 11:32

Diva, I'm really struggling with having 2 babies this time round. dd3 is doing my head in. She's lovely, but the chaos that surrounds her is CONSTANT, from emptying cupboards, climbing on the kitchen table and throwing everyone's dinner on the floor, Falling off the table. Emptying every bottle of my perfume, body lotions, climbing in my bath and pouring water all over the bathroom floor tipping all the shampoo out, drawing on the floor and walls, smearing toothpaste all over the computer key board, letting the gerbils out of their cage, sitting on Ronnie, taking off poo nappies and treading it everywhere and smearing it on the walls (dirty protest!). Oh the list goes on and on.
I find it very hard going out with her and Ronnie as she runs off if she's let out of the pram. I don't mind that if I haven't got Ronnie with me, but Ronnie is always crying if he's awake and not feeding. So the stress levels are WAY up here.
I keep telling myself that it will get easier, I know it will, but I'm right in the middle of it now.
Anyways. hope your feel better today.

kittyhas6 · 09/06/2007 11:34

God, what a moan, sorry everyone. Hope you all have a fab day. the weather here is brill, v hot already.
We're going to the local bbc springwatch, it was great last year.

foxcub · 09/06/2007 12:22

Diva - any chance you can have a nap today? SDtick the others in front of the Tv and lie on the bed with Eslie?

Mine don't say "arse" but they do say "fart" all the time

Shrinky its funny your LO made a decision to cry at you - rather than it just being an immediate response

Kitty - I admire you coping with two babies. It must be really stressful having to constantly watch one and pick up the crying one - you poor thing. What happened about your home help - is she back now?

A question for those of you with mega norks. Which nursing bra do you wear? I've just received the Royce White Lacey one for fuller figures from the NCT and its really comfy and gorgeous and I'm thinking there are probably other nice bras out there I am missing out on.

Anyone over an EE cup size? If so, which bra are you wearing? (if that's not a rude question!)

divastrop · 09/06/2007 14:43

kitty-im very lucky that dd2 isnt walking yet,as she cant cause too much trouble atm.the first few months with dd2 and ds2 were a nightmare,he was a little sod, always running off and leaving a trail of destruction wherever he went.its not so bad now, when im at home,as dp is here, but he doesnt really go out anywhere with me,and ds2 still runs off all the time even thought he's nearly 4

ive just carried him most of the way home from the party as he was so tired he just refused to move,so i had to get dd1 to push Elsie's buggy while i carried himself.he is not a small boy,he weighs 3.5 stone.

on the plus side-auntie flo has finally arrived!!!!so i should start feeling like a human again tomorrow

fox-i would feel worse if i had a nap.i did go back to bed after ds2 got up(i made his toast and stuck toy story on for him)but then Elsie woke for her bottle at 5.30,then dd2 woke etc etc.

dd2 has been asleep most of the day.at least she's sensible enough to rest when she doesnt feel well.

TheBlonde · 09/06/2007 15:11

Foxy - figleaves and bravissimo have various bras. I have the Royce Jasmine ones. There is also a Freya one which is pretty.

foxcub · 09/06/2007 17:04

Just had a peek at the Freya bras, TheBlonde, they're very pretty aren't they? They have loads for those of us with substantial boobs! Thanx

kittyhas6 · 09/06/2007 17:15

diva, glad auntie has arrived.
I reckon the kids 'tag' each other, that way they ensure you never get any down time .
Foxy did you go for your picnic?
