you choose - for you or for your bubba

I can't believe the May thread is so excited that their babies are arriving. That time in our lives seems like soooooo long ago .

Just popping in very quickly - having a bit of a nightmare at the moment and not really coping. Sorry i don't feel up to posting much. Haven't really read the last few days stuff but hope you are doing well and that the babies are letting you have some rest.

I'll be back shortly and in much better form I hope .

Love to all X

foxcub · 09/06/2007 20:03

Kitty - no! I did feck all as usual, apart from awalk to Boots to buy nappies LOL!!!

Couldn't get myself out of the house

What did you do today?

Dolly R U OK?? What's been happening. Its not like you to be down, so it must be something ....

spongecake · 09/06/2007 20:27

hi, hope you're all having a good weekend.
Foxy, have you spoken to your lawyer yet? am v interested as think you have been had up like a kipper. Do you have a "spreadsheet" from last year that you wrote down all the niggles on? sure someone had one...

diva, who is auntie flo? am i being a bit thick, have horrible feeling i am! assume not a relative??

i have been putting away all the baby clothes that he has grown out of.. my neice has already asked for them one day! have yet to break it that i do actually want another baby!

My bloody neighbours are home and he is playing his BLOODY guitar. tosser. am going to go and tell them to pipe down, the bastards had me awake all last friday night with their partying and general nightmare neighbour behaviour. am going to put a matchstick in their bell. HAH!!! sorry

read some crap in the paper today that women should have babies early, not when they get to 40 ... yea, and what if you haven;t met the person you want to have babies with? rant rant....

divastrop · 09/06/2007 20:30

dolly-sorry to hear that.whats wrong?

ds1 is ill now.he is a total man whan it comes to being ill, walking around whinging and groaning like he's at deaths' door.the thing is,on the 1 or 2 occasions he has been very ill,i could tell instantly as he was very quiet.i was actually with him as he puked all over the chair and the stairs.i think a 9 year old should be able to say 'i feel sick, can i have the puke bowl'.

divastrop · 09/06/2007 20:35

sponge-x posts.auntie flo-af-your period.its a mumsnetism like 'dp' etc.

do you want me to come and sort your neighbours out?well,i got rid of mine....

women should have babies when they bloody well want to IMO.anyway,i had my first at 20 and i was wayyyy too young.when i was in my early 20's i behaved in the same way most childless people in their early 20's behave, which wasnt really very responsible of me.

spongecake · 09/06/2007 21:01

your poor ds1 diva.. hope he gets better soon. do you put a bucket by his bed? my mum used to do that for me when i was little. must say i hated it and she still had to get up!

am doing essay for my ou course and would rather be watching csi.

my neighbours have shut up- are you emitting thought rays? thx!

foxcub · 09/06/2007 21:43

Sponge - you need to have an arguement on a thread I think - get it all out of your system

Have made an arrangement to ring the lawyer tomorrow morning for chat>>[fingers crossed]

Diva - ooh you poor thing. Dealing with sick is horrible, even your own child's.

Monti watched the entire Any dream will do and then Ages of Rock and seems to like black sabbath. He's been totally engrossed - not a squeak from him!!!!

morocco · 09/06/2007 21:52

omg how hot was it today??? pant pant. am still sweltering. kids got so overheated, dd wanted feeding every 5 minutes, phew! it's a nightmare keeping babies hydrated and out of the sun when you're out and about, and I forgot the shadeababe so had to use dh's coat over the pram which em wasn't pleased about cos she couldn't see anything
had a lovely day today catching up with old friends with new babies, then mil (well that was tolerable) in the afernoon
sounds bedlam with some of you and your older babies - brings back memories of ds1 and ds2, all the 'dirty protests' bet they are cute and cuddly too

Shrinkinglily · 09/06/2007 22:03

Yes the children do cry at me in cold blood. That is why I often get two big bits of tissue and stick them in my ears very obviously.
Earlier today dd was howling (I think she misses dh) and ds2 said to me 'do you want me to get you tissues for your ears?'

Today we went to a carnival parade and funfair, everyone had a ball and I got sunburnt!

Dolly, I often felt I wasn't coping last baby. This time I am still in chaos but I am coping because last time for various reasons I was depressed and this time I had extremely low expectations for myself. Could you have a spot of pnd? Be kind to yourself! I hope things come easier soon.

Kitty/Diva may the force be with you. I think I have my hands full then I read your posts!

Foxy/Mossy don't blink!

foxcub · 09/06/2007 22:06

Dr Who was great tonight wasn't it? I really like the young actress who played that girl - she'd be a great next assistant for the Dr

sazzybee · 10/06/2007 07:46

Morning all

Very early start here - have been up since 5.30 with a feed and then one of the detector thingies on the alarm started beeping to change the battery . I remember now why I disabled the bloody thing - the batteries always run out in the middle of the night and it beeps twice every minute until you change them. Complete PITA!

Gorgeous morning here - I've been out and watered the garden then off to see my mum and dad so that I can go shopping for something to wear for my 'do' at the Savoy next month. Trying to find something that my humungous norks will fit into is going to be the problem

Sorry some of you had crappy days yesterday - hope we all have a better day with well-behaved children today

ps Rosy - I have a picture of you in my head with tissues sticking out of your ears

Shrinkinglily · 10/06/2007 08:36

Sazzy good luck with the shopping project!

I find the 'clown method' of parenting works very well. It is easy to maintain a sense of humour against all odds when I have enough sleep.
Sleep is the key to happiness for me. I'm only getting 6 hours a night but it is just enough. Every now and then I get seven or eight and it is pure bliss.

kittyhas6 · 10/06/2007 10:05

he he, diva I thought Spaong suggested that you should put a bucket on ds's head!!!!
bummer that you've got another one ill. it's like that with big families though isn't it? illness spreads round like wildfire. Hope it doesn't last too long

Sazzy. have a great shopping trip, hopw you find somwething really glam.

opps dd3's throwing herself in my bath with all her clothes on, bl**dy child, gotta laugh bye x

Shrinkinglily · 10/06/2007 11:19

My neighbour definately thinks I'm a clown of a mother she is lovely but I just know she looks down on us and disapproves. She can't help herself, it's very subtle. She would 'save' me if she could. But she probably knows I'm too far gone to be saved and she would be right!

Oh well, stuff it. She's off to church in her hat. One day I'll tell her I'm a vicars daughter and she will be truly horrified!

Hope everyone has a lovely day. It's gorgeous here.

divastrop · 10/06/2007 12:27

fox-i refuse to deal with the older 2's puke(unless they wake up in the night and be sick on the bed which isnt their fault).actually,dd1 rarely gets ill,and when she does she will go and be sick in the loo or ask for a bowl.ds1 was too lazy to go upstairs,he would rather sit there felling sorry for himself.if i run around after him now he will grow up to be one of those men who get 'man flu' and expect their wives to wait on them.

Elsie slept from 8.30-11.30,then 12-6.15,which is good.but i am now tired as i caught up on my sleep last night.

rosy-i find humor helps(though i havent had much of a sense of humour for the past year).ds2 has started pretending to cry,and i have to remind myself to a.not feel sorry for him and b. not get wound up.i can tell when hes putting it on cos he starts laughing when i tickle him.

fox-i had a dream last night that you were in a magazine(OK or something like that),showing off your slim new figure and your baby.apparently, you were some big-shot business woman who owned a huge PR company or something.
is it true?are you really a secret sleb?

kitty-when i read what your dd3 gets up to it makes me feel so lucky that my toddler can still only take a couple of steps!

i told ds2 we would get ready to go to the play area when ive finished my coffee,so he finished it for me and keeps telling me its all gone.and dd2 has just thrown a load of toys at his head and laughed...better go and take them out!

have a good day everybody.

Mossie · 10/06/2007 12:56

Hello, just popping in to say hi, still struggling atm but muddling on...

Bertie is eight and a half weeks, but only weighs 10lb, his weight gain's been v slow. But I'm not going to stress myself out about it, too tired!!

Hope you're all doing okay... will pop back when I have a chubby, gurgling baby rather than a skinny, screaming one....

So see you in a few years!!

Foxy / Rosy... how good was last night's episode? Don't blink... don't look away...

foxcub · 10/06/2007 16:54

Bloody Brilliant!

Diva - Sleb?

More like slob!

Actually I am infamous - have spent all day writing my grievance. My friends's lawyer DH said to do the grievance ASAP so they can't go ahead and move my team. He reckons I've got a case and could get a pay off, but that would mean me leaving - so I need to make a decision about that.

Is it hot or what???

kittyhas6 · 10/06/2007 18:00

fox, sounds promising doesn't it?

I love Dr Who, even though DT isn't particularly my cup of tea, last night's episode was really fab, pretty scary.

Mossie, good to hear from you.

Dolly, hope things get better soon

Shrinkinglily · 10/06/2007 18:20

Mossy, 10lbs is perfectly fine and come back this instance and moan with us. This isn't 'perfect mummy' thread you know!

CallieNewMum · 10/06/2007 18:45

Mossy, my friend's son was 10lb something at 4.5 months. He's absolutely fine. Keep hanging in there....

I actually managed to get DS to drink some water today for the first time in ages. It was only an ounce or so, but I was mightily pleased as it's been so hot. I'm now praying it doesn't get any warmer than this this summer.

Sazzy, ooh get you, do at the Savoy. What's the occasion? I could have gone out with a mate and her friend last night but I was at my mum's all day and decided I'd done enough, so stayed in (and had our first bit of TTC instead... )

What are you putting your LOs in to sleep in this hot weather? He was in a shortsleeved and legged loose babygro last night.

Dolly, hope you feel better soon.

Diva, ew, sick sounds nasty. Now that I am not looking forward to. DS sicked up all down my top, down underneath it, onto my bra and down my tummy earlier... nice. But at least it's only milk.

We put up a gazebo in the garden today and put the playgym under it which was fun. But I think the heat was getting to him later on cos he was quite grouchy. When he finally went to sleep pushed the pram to the shop and had an ice-cream, and feel so much better now. We're debating taking him out this evening down to the water while we have something to eat. Could go either way with him - either he'll zonk or it's going to be tears all the way. It is cooling down a bit here now.

Am with DP as he has decided Wi-Fi is a dangerous new technology and is now disconnecting it when he's on the PC, where our modem is, meaning I'll have to rewire it every time I want to use my laptop. Great.

foxcub · 10/06/2007 19:20

Mossy - Monti only started chubbying up a couple of weeks ago, he was a skinny bean up until then, so hang on in there

CallieNewMum · 10/06/2007 19:49

Hmm - DS has stayed zonked out since last post, and I'm now wondering if I should wake him up now because I don't want him waking ridiculously early tomorrow morning. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven on Saturday morning because he didn't stir until 7.30 - - but it was back to 5am this morning.

Piffle · 10/06/2007 20:04

Mossie my dd was the tinest weight gain ever, we thought she was fail to thrive until the dietitian said
No she has her own thrive line, so long as height and weight are relatively the same lines and follow a systematic gain however small and so long as the baby is other wise develpoing normally... Don't worry, you have the right attitude btw. DD btw is a very VERY chatty intelligent 4 yr old, and still very petite and like Bertie she likes to eat all day long

Exp and his lovely lady came up today she suits being pregnant - she ahd horrific cycling accident in Ldn on Thrusday, car door opened and she has stitches to the head and massive bruises to her arms, bloke who did it felt awful and drove her to hospital and took her home afterwards waited 4 hrs with her. DS1 was in tears for her as he knows how much she wanted this baby, infact I'm the same, just so happy. Bizarre huh!

Anyway off to try to convince dp that we need another baby

Callie you got a bugaboo right? We are thinking we need one HA as we need rear facing bar handled pram very easy steer as my left wrist has not gone really bad adn needs buggy board which our current pram does not take

We need the cameleon as need extendable handle bar - do you like your pram?

Must dash Dr Whoooooooooooooooooooooooo

divastrop · 10/06/2007 20:07

callie-i have a very strong stomach these days(once youve delt with rotavirus poo you can deal with anything)but i made him clean up some of it.thats probably wrong but im just nasty.
i always give Elsie a bottle at 7.30 no matter what.well, now shes got used to it and asks for one then even if its only 1.5 hours since her last feed.

mossy-yes,come back and moan now!!!i may not complain about Elsie but thats cos i still have the first 2 to complain about, and the younger 3 seem like perfect angels compared to what those 2 were like as babies/toddlers.
Bertie is gaining weight, thats what counts.my babies have all started to get pudgey at about 12 weeks.

i have to admit, even i was scared by dr.who last night,it was more like it used to be in my day!

fox-clearly my dream was a premonition.you are going to recieve a huge pay off and start your own business,go down to a size 10 and start moving in A-list circles.you and sazzy will both be attending dos at the savoy!

foxcub · 10/06/2007 21:53

Diva - R U a medium??

as opposed to a large like me?

Piffle - your poor exp's girlfriend - that must have been so scary for her! is she OK now - and the baby?

Right, off to bed now...can't sit on here all night now can I?
