Looking forward to sharing news of our babies as they reach their first milestones and grow into little people.

Hi all

Time is flying by isn't it.

I see some of your babies are on the move. Freddie has started to crawl too and the poor dog is not impressed (no longer is she safe from the noisy one).

@lydiangel83 I'm so sorry to hear about the ring. My grandma has lost her wedding ring and engagement ring somewhere. Also my mother lost hers when going for a dip in the English Channel (no idea why she felt a dip in the cold sea was sensible). It's hard as they do carry a lot of meaning don't they.

Love to all
Xx

@lydiangel83 :( have you put something on Facebook groups in the area?

Freddie is crawling everywhere, pulling up to stand and cruising along the sofa a bit. He's into everything and thinks it's really funny to crawl off at speed when I'm trying to change his nappy. He and dd cause chaos together in the morning when they are both getting dressed and there's a lot of giggling which is very cute. He loves raiding her toys and finding inappropriate things to play with. He eats well but has no interest in his milk at all!

Can't believe how fast they are all growing up!

Motherhippy16 · 13/07/2018 07:39

Hi all... how are you all doing? X x x x

Motherhippy16 · 13/07/2018 07:42

I'm so sorry not to have posted on here for a while... our landlord has decided to sell so we have been frantically trying to find a place to live, get a mortgage together or working out the landlord if we can afford our place. Also my dh had a motorbike accident and has been on crutches for over a month and will be for another! It's all go... I will read through the messages wen I have a chance! Lo is trying to crawl and everything goes into his mouth! Stop in massive separation anxiety on anyone else but me..... any tips? X much love and light to gorgoeus mummas and gorgeous babies x

lydiangel83 · 19/07/2018 22:58

Hi @Motherhippy16 gosh sounds like things have been hard for you :( we are good thanks. Had a nice holiday to Italy and Liliana is much calmer than she used to be. I am still dairy free which is a bit annoying but has meant I lost my baby weight. I have a meeting with hospital next week to discuss my traumatic birth experience and broken coccyx. Not holding out much hope but may be good to have a chance to vent at them and agree how to fix me! Hope you're all surviving the heat. Late night for me I am usually in bed by 8.30pm as L's sleep still bad!

DuRezidal · 24/07/2018 07:07

I am just catching up, things have been so busy at this end. J continues to be an absolutely lovely baby, he is so happy and calm that he makes me want another one (and I always said never again!!!) my 6 year old little girl is just the most wonderful big sister and she absolutely adores him, and vice versa.

We have our first sub holiday in a few weeks so really looking forwards to that as a foursome.

lydiangel83 · 02/08/2018 20:50

@DuRezidal that's lovely to hear :) L is hard work but such a smiley baby when not ill or in pain - which feels like it is a lot of the time :(

sockportal · 02/08/2018 20:59

How is everyone and their babies?

@lydiangel83 has Liliana been poorly?

DuRezidal · 02/08/2018 21:24

@lydiangel83 what illnesses?

J gave us a fright last week and ended up in hospital which was really scary. Thankfully it looks like it was just a virus and he was bright again in no time at all! Just a note to everyone, the hospital told me that nurofen is more effective at bringing down temps than calpol!

Zampa · 07/08/2018 20:12

Hi everyone. Hope you're all well.

Anyone thinking about work yet? Apart from DuRezidal who's been back for ages!

I submitted my flexible working request and have been told no on virtually every count. Fortunately, they can't alter my basic hours/days off as they're contractually but they would if they could!

Plus side is that I won't be going back until mid December now. 4 more months!

I'm looking for a new job, my contract ended back in January. I want to be back at work for the end of September. I've had 3 interviews and 3 nos, so I'm feeling disheartened at the moment.

Bea is doing well and is trying to crawl in her hip spica cast. How is everyone and their babies?

Zampa · 08/08/2018 15:57

Good luck sock. The right job will appear soon, I'm sure.

Leonore is thriving and is a bit of a monster. Love her to bits!

I'm back to work at the beginning of September although I'm officially back already, just using up some annual leave. I'm about ready to go back now although not looking forward to it as work have stitched me up & completely changed my accounts, reporting line & direct reports. They've almost come out & said we don't think your up to doing your old job. I'm going to go back & suck it up for a couple of weeks & then start requesting changes.

Sorry to hear they declined your flexible working @Zampa. Hope you can find a way to make it work for you. I've been quite lucky, work have agreed to a temporary change in hours until Christmas to get round some childcare challenges. I had a flexible working request turned down with my DS & I was really frustrated. The 30 minutes meant nothing to them but to me it was going to make such a difference.

Hope you manage to find something soon @sockportal. Is there many vacancies around?

Iris is doing great, she cracked crawling a couple of weeks ago & is in to everything.

sockportal · 08/08/2018 22:06

Thank you @Zampa. There are a few vacancies around @Topsyloulou, Bea starts nursery in September which makes it much easier to apply for jobs as I have little childcare help.

Bea is fascinated by animals and is quite content with trips to the local garden centre to look at the fish in the tanks/ ponds.

Photo didn't load on last post...

DuRezidal · 11/08/2018 06:40

We are heading off on our first sun holiday with J this weekend... I can't wait to have my two tiny humans all to myself for a week. I've been so busy that it's been hard to spend lots of time with them but this week is going to be much needed

Zampa · 11/08/2018 20:03

Have a fabulous holiday DuRezidal.

Ah hello everyone!! Finally, finally caught up after being locked out of my mumsnet account for weeks!
Sorry it’s been so long. It is utter madness that our babies are so, so grown up.
@Durez hope you’re having a lovely break away. We are currently trying to decide where to go on holiday in spring with a toddler, it is our thirtieths so we want to do something special but equally not too much with our crazy Matilda. We looked at Santorini but it is apparently a nightmare with pushchairs...ideas welcome :)
She is in to everything. She climbs all the way up the stairs. Pulls herself up on her cot. Yesterday I left her in the sitting room for a minute as I got dinner....heard a clink and ran back in...she had unscrewed the lightbulb from the lamp and was waving it around!! How..?! It’s so exhausting! But equally I love it so much.
We are both wanting to try for number 2 now but I still haven’t got my periods back, and yesterday work accepted my return to work to change to two days a week from full time. But we definitely will be trying soon :) We always wanted our children close together and that feeling hasn’t changed despite the madness that is parenting haha.
Does anyone else’s little ones NOT have any teeth yet?? Tildy has zero!
Good luck in your job hunt @sock and sorry yours hours weren’t accepted @zampa.
Lovely to catch up on everyone’s posts! Hope you are all well and not too tired from chasing around Our crazy babies 😄 Xx

Hazandduck · 15/08/2018 11:51

Oh and @lydia I had my first experience of mastitis (was it you that suffered) after 8 and a half months breastfeeding with little issues, my goodness it was hell! Was so, so ill. Hats off to anyone that has suffered that!

sockportal · 17/08/2018 09:16

Oh wow @Hazandduck you thinking of baby 2! We will have another one at some point, at the moment there is no way we could afford to plus o don't think I'm recovered from Bea's shock arrival yet.

Bea went into hospital yesterday to have cast changed, this time she is in a waterproof one so we can bath her. She delighted DH by calling him dada for the first time just as we were going down to the operating theatre.

sockportal · 05/09/2018 09:04

Hi ladies, things have kind of fizzled out on here. I know some of us are on instagram. Would any of you be interested in staying in touch in another way? Hoping all mamas and babies are ok.

Hazandduck · 07/09/2018 21:43

Ah @sock I definitely want to keep in touch, I just always forget to check in on here at the moment!
How is Bea? Hope she is getting on ok with her cast and growing up in general!
It is lovely seeing updates on instagram too but I did love the easy chatter we had on here.
I’ve got mastitis again at the moment urgh! Really getting fed up of it now, it doesn’t help that Matilda bites me now from time to time 😣
And yes we are talking about no2, DH is Happy whenever I am ready but I am so up and down, half the time I feel guilty even thinking about it because Matilda is my one and only baby 😄 I can’t imagine anyone else ever competing with her for my attention..! I think it would be easier if we just had a happy accident so I then don’t overthink too much lol xx hope everyone is doing well! X

DuRezidal · 18/09/2018 19:38

I do come back and check on here to see if there are any updates... we should all keep in touch as been there through it all!

We need to post on here more 😊

J is so close to walking it is untrue, he is cruising all around the nursery room and they thought he was going to try today but then fell asleep sat up because he had worn himself out! I absolutely cannot remember life without him now, he almost makes me broody for number 3 but I just don't think I could go through being pregnant again as it effects my job so much.

Is anyone thinking of the next one?

Zampa · 19/09/2018 22:25

I keep on bugging DH for a 3rd but as it would be his 5th, it's a definite no. So I'm selling my maternity clothes and the smaller baby clothes. So emosh.

I'm on Instagram but not Facebook. I wouldn't mind a What's App group but is that too much?

DD1 has started pre school. She hates it and wants to be at home with Mummy and her little sister. I feel so much guilt!

Aw @zampa your girls are so beautiful! Yes WhatsApp could be a good shout, I’m game :)
I can’t believe it has been nearly a year since my maternity leave began! Next month I am due back at work gah.
Ah @durez it’s hard isn’t it, I am 100% broody and ready for another, two of my closest friends are pregnant and I am so envious of their scans and all the excitement. I feel really emotional every time I think about Matilda turning one.

That’s lovely about J being so close to walking...Do we have any walkers in the group yet? Matilda has taken steps with her walker but she usually falls over because it rolls away too quickly for her to keep up! Xx
