Thought i would start the offical May 2007 thread as it is May and we have now had our first offical May baby - even though we have 6 naughty babies who queue jumped and arrived in April .

Probably be a while before there are many messages but a least we have a thread now

It's like looking round a house you can't afford. It's beautiful here. I like the Georgian grass green paint in the living room.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 03/05/2007 21:17

We'll be here soon SOH.
Hope they keep the cakes cooking and the tea pot warm.

cameroonmama · 04/05/2007 07:50

well done AM, I'll be here this time next week! Watch out! How is J getting on with his new sister?

LupinsBigLump · 04/05/2007 17:08

Just popping onto the new "house" looking good over here s far, hopefully some new housemates will arrive soon xx

dejags · 05/05/2007 19:50

Hi AM. How are you getting on?

We are fine - Carys at the lovely, sleep except when feeding stage. She smells so lovely, I am absolutely in love with her and even said to DH this afternoon that I am sad that I will NEVER be pregnant again.

We have had to start supplementing Carys' feeds due to her being so early and me having had a breast reduction. She lost a lot of weight in hospital (260g) so we are mixed feeding until my milk comes in and then we'll take a decision from there whether or not to continue supplementing.

Anyway I think she's stirring for a feed. Thanks for starting this thread.

Don't worry girls who are still pregnant - you'll be here soon enough.

anneme · 06/05/2007 03:03

hello -popped in for a look around because I had a moment when I thought I would be moving in sooner than expected. Looks v nice.. Will be with you on Wed. Enjoy!

drkgpink · 08/05/2007 18:13

popping on to say hello, feels weird to be on a post-natal thread still before due date, EDD tomorrow. Still posting on atenatal thread as more seems to be happening there. Guess strictly speaking I should be on April's thread, mine is one of the 6 naughty babies that didn't come in May. On the plus side the birth stone is diamond not emerald so i got a lovely born present!! Thankyou Joshua

aprilmeadow · 10/05/2007 09:32

Hello hello hello
echo echo echo

oooh wont be too long before our 'new house' is all full up and talk of feeding, sleeping and pooing is all that fills the page

Drkgpink - how could you even think of going over to the 'other side'. We are 100% May ladies/babies

Charley - how are you getting on with your gorgeous little man?

Lupins - How's it all going? Will have to arrange a get together and see how the preparations of the Reading KK shop are doing.

Dejags - how's Carys getting on? Love that name! I have a cousin with the same name and she is lovely. I know what you mean about sad not to be pg again, but then i watch birthing programmes and think 'nope no thanks'

Just popping into say hi..!!

Good luck to those who a still waiting their arrivals and congrats to those who have had...

Our dd was born 16th May 2005 so is 2 next wednesday...seemed like yesterday when she was born...BUT babies are still very much a new thing in our household as we now have a 13 week old ds...

Enjoy your time with them as it does fly by so quickly. xx

dejags · 13/05/2007 19:22

Where is everybody?

Hope you are all well. I only have a few minutes to catchup - three kids is a handful and we are settling into a new routine which doesn't leave much time for Mumsnetting .

Carys is doing really well - she hasn't regained her birth weight yet but I am not worried - we are still mixed feeding so hopefully she will start to pick up soon (she is now 6lbs5 - so a fair drop in weight). It's lovely, lovely, lovely to have a newborn in the house. She is very quiet like her younger brother, rarely cries, and quite alert when awake (about 3hrs out of 24 at the moment).

Would love to hear more about your newborns.

hi dejags
We're trying to fit together a routine as well with te two older ones. Victoria went down to 9lb 1 from 9 14 and was 9 5 on Friday at 12days.

She was a nightmare at night until Thursday - mostly awake for 2-3hrs in the night 1-4am , not sleeping evenings either but the last two nights she's slept in the evening from 8ish til 12 or 1 then fed and gone back to sleep until 4ish, fed and slept til 7. Still tiring but better than 2 x 2hrs which I was getting!

got to go - she's not settling tonight...

aprilmeadow · 14/05/2007 08:59

Hello

Ella seems to have a different routine every day! She tends to be awake for 2-3hours in the morning from 7.30am. She does sleep in the evenings more often than not but it does depend on how long she has slept for during the day. Last night she went from 7.30pm to 11.15pm then fed and went back to sleep on me until 3.15am. Back to sleep in bed (naughty me) with me as i couldnt listen to the snuffles, snorts, snores, grunts, groans and murmers any longer! She slept until 7.30!

Each night changes. Night before last she happily slept in her basket but woke three times between 12am and 6.30am. I wonder what tonight has in store for us?

Ella was 5lbs 10oz at birth, dropped to 5lbs 5oz and by 12days had gone back to birth weight. Getting her weighed today for the first time in nearly 2weeks. I expect her to be over 7 and a half lbs.

Ella will be 5weeks old tomorrow

LupinsBigLump · 15/05/2007 16:17

Arlen doesnt really have a routine yet, he kind of eats every 3 hours, but some nights this has changed to 2 hours and some 4 hours, he seems to get really congested at night have been using saline nasal drops and nose suckiy thing - cant think of the word!! aspirator there we go came back to me!! today i bought some tube thig take you suck out the snot and it collects in a pot - ewwwwwwwwww but needs must i suppose,

Glad all the babies are thriving, cant believe my lo is nearly 6 weeks old arghhh wheres the time gone - he is still tiny lol but i defiantly noticed a differance he has hamster cheeks now

Hope the others hurry up and join us

Can finally get back in my fitted joggers, next step is my jeans, seems like a huge task - right he's grumping again off to feed him

Anyone else bottle feeding? must say it has been alot easier than breast feeding altho that would have been my preferance

cameroonmama · 15/05/2007 18:20

Can I come in now?

How exciting to have become post natal!

Jasper has slept allllllll day apart from a brief waking period every 3 hours or so for a nibble on me and a poop. He has been awake every 2 hours or so the last 2 nights, so I'm reassured he'll change soon at night by reading about your newborns. Also because he is my last one, I feel a bit more chilled about it. He is just so snuggly! Plus my mum is helping out with the older dc so all I have to do is sit around and 'recover', marvellous, I'm taking advantage of it while I can

You all seem to be doing so well..anneme any news from you? How about you Charleymouse?

drkgpink · 16/05/2007 04:48

hi all, jj is 17 days today, he has got a cold which is playing havoc with routine. seemed to cluster feed last night from 5 til 8, another one at ten but has slept from then until now so can't complain. he dropped from 8lb 1 to 7lb 8 but on mon was 7lb 11 so hopefully continuing to go up.

dh went back to work yesterday, there were tears!! we managed to get to baby group and a walk to the doctors to register etc. also bought a cute outfit for his thanksgiving oin sunday.

todays a new day, who knows what it will bring. i was hoping to sort some clothes out as am rapidly shrinking

hope all is well

LupinsBigLump · 16/05/2007 08:34

Blimmin noisey baby, he kept dp and me awake most of the night with his flippin snorin gruntin and groanin - is dp's bday today and we were really hoping to get a lie in, but no, what with no sleep then dd was screamin in her room turns out she sat in her shopping trolley and it collapsed and she hit her head on the wall - que lots of im too heavy boo hoo!! soooo tired

Hope everyone else has had some restful sleep

aprilmeadow · 16/05/2007 10:18

Nope no restful sleep here either Lupins! Ella is not liking sleeping in her moses basket! So today i have started the you go for sleeps the bedroom and in the basket, in the hope that she grows to like her bed and sleeps there at night!

She is currently in her basket in Jacks room (only because we havent put the blackout blind up in her room and dh uses it as his office). Monitors are on and so far so good.

Hi everyone, I am finally coming to join you - found the time at last! Ruby was born on 8th May so is 8 days old today. I am soooo in love with her and can't believe I got my little girl. Her big brother has been really good with her too so that is a big relief. He has takne it out on us a bit but I supposr that was to be expected.
Lupin I am bottle feeding. I couldn't keep up with her breastfeeding so I changed to bottle when I came out of hospital. To be honest it was always my intention anyway.
Ruby was 7lb 9oz when born and I don't know what she dropped to as they didn't weigh at Thursday's home visit. By Sunday she was back to her birth weight at only 5 days old so she must be a little piggy!! Just like her mum lol.
She is really good and I can't beleive how well she is doing at night too. She is fed around 12am, around 4am and around 8am so no complaints from me - far better than ds ever was. She is a bit more erratic in the day but I'd much rather that way round!
Anyway, I'll sign off now as I have to have some lunch. I just wanted to say hello and make myself known on the thread. Hope to catch up soon.

LupinsBigLump · 16/05/2007 13:03

Dp has decided he is moving into the spare room due to the noise lol, good thing is i get the whole bed to myself yipeee

Have decided to give swaddlig a go, i will use grobags when he is bigger but think we are still a way from 7lb which is when u can start with them, wondering if his sleeping position is part of the trouble, breech babies are remound for sleeping with their legs in the air, dd di this as well, but it lifts of the covers, has anyone else swaddle before?

Abbey glad your lo is in a nice routine, arlen, still amazes me how i have fallen in love with him so quickly and as much as dd, was not sure how u manage to love another as much as the 1st

AM do you want to meet up again soon, surely the KK shop must be opening soon in the oracle, I will investigate, I would never see Arlen if i put him in a bedroom for his sleeps he is asleep 85% of the time lol, when he starts having more wakeful time i will do that

I should have had my section yesterday lol

cameroonmama · 16/05/2007 14:06

Lupins, I am currently swaddling Jasper as he doesn't seem to settle properly at night unless I do it, then he sleeps like a baby

I am just using cellular blankets to wrap him up like a mummy! But I think John Lewis do some special swaddling blankets. I tried him in his grobag but he wasn't too happy so we shall carry on swaddling for just now.

Now, how long until I lose this tummy that still makes me look like I am 6mths pregnant and so that I can hide it under something suitably voluminous!

LupinsBigLump · 16/05/2007 15:14

CAM i still easily lokk 4-5 months pg, tried my jeans on earlier - well i got them over my bum but thats was it so i put on large long top and wore them for a while as im so fed up with stretchy trousers but after a few hours and a bit of sitting down they were annoying my scar

have wrapped Arlen up this afternoon and havent heard a peep out of him, a lady that i am getting some nappies off of has a swaddle blanket and she is going to lend it to me, fingers crossed this will work

aprilmeadow · 16/05/2007 21:05

I have been swaddling Ella and she seems to settle/sleep much better. Jack hated being swaddled as he used to flap so much. I have been using cellular blankets as well. Fingers crossed it works for you

AM, bet you and Lupins are both lovely and slim already..I'm going to go out for a walk with J for the first time tomorrow, I'm fed up of being stuck at home now and he is also a little jaundiced so some 'sun' should help him and some walking should help me.

My other 2 dc hated to be swaddled, isn't it funny how different they can be

Great news about MrsJB, how fast was she?
