eenybeeny · 26/07/2007 19:17

Tonight Alex walked on his own!!!! About a hundred times for 4 or 5 steps each time!!!! YAY!!

Nbg · 26/07/2007 20:36

Awwwww congrats eeny
Its fab watching them take their first steps isnt it.

Booby/dressedupnowheretogo, is moving tomorrow to a brand spanking new shiny house!
She lost her internet connection this afternoon but she said she will be back online Saturday at some point.

eenybeeny · 27/07/2007 14:21

Am I a thread killer??

So what are all the other August babies doing?

sarahlou1uk · 27/07/2007 17:52

Hi Eeny. Molly is crawling around everywhere and using furniture to pull herself up. It won't be long before she's walking. She has 7 teeth now and is following her big brother around everywhere.
This morning, she managed to squeeze under the stair gate at the top of the stairs and slide down to the bottom on her back! She's ok - they just bounce at this age .
At the moment, she is crying at my feet because she is desparate for a nap but won't settle each time I pick her up - she's scared of missing something.

olivo · 28/07/2007 07:41

hi eeny! nice to hear from you - the thread can be a bit like this sometimes! congrats on alex walking!holly is cruising and can walk on her own with a walker or a hand to hold her up but no unsupported steps yet. she is SO clingy at the moment, its driving me potty!
beautiful day here so we are going to have a bbq on the beach. cant believe one week of the holidays has gone already! hope you all have a great weekend.

sarahlou1uk · 28/07/2007 16:24

Olivo - Molly is also very clingy at the mo. Only me and me alone will do. Gets very frustrating and Jack is getting a bit jealous as when he wants mummy, he has to have Molly too!

olivo · 28/07/2007 20:53

phew -glad i'm not the only one! she's fine when i'm not there but if she catches even the slightest glimpse of me, she'll search me out!
have had the most lovely day, big family bbq on the beach. dd had a swim in the sea while PIl watched her and mummy had a few beers

dressedupnowheretogo · 29/07/2007 16:33

well we moved eventually

and i may not be online at home til the 15th of august[dressedup faints again]

hope your all well

im getting worse with my pnd had two panics attacks friday and not dealing with my family never mind other pepole at the mo

hope your all well

BigHotMama · 31/07/2007 11:22

Hi everyone thought I'd come on here to say bye bye as am off to Portugal for 2 weeks on Thursday and really cant wait to get some sunshine, I really need to get a tan on my milk bottle legs. Sharing a villa with my sister and her bf and my mate and her bf so should be a laugh, and Jackson will have a ball with all the attention.

Olivo I have a clingy one here too, some days he's really bad and just cries for me when dh is holding him, and other days he will be fine. Just a phase I reckon.

Sorry to hear about your panic attacks Dressedup, must be scary thing to happen, hope things improve for you.

Eeny congrats to Alex taking his first steps, we have another one here as Jackson has really come on over the past week with letting go of our hands and walking about 3-4 steps before crashing or diving onto the floor lol. He has 8 teeth now, loves kissing everything in sight, growls at chocolate or food (v.funny) and is a bundle of energy into everything and favourite word is 'ta' Am sure they will be running in a few weeks scary thought though eh?

Hope everyone else is well and dont miss me too much! x

Am now off to get my nails done, bikini and bellybutton wax - OUCH!

eenybeeny · 31/07/2007 15:48

dressed up would love to see pics of your new house!! I'm sure its stylish and gorgeous!

sarahlou and olivo Alex is like that too, our loo is upstairs and every time he sees me approach the stairs he starts crying and chases after me.

BHM have a great time on your holiday!!!! Cant wait to hear about it. JAckson sounds like a darling. Alex has 8 teeth too, do any other babies here love biting?

dressedup my depression has hit an all time low. Which includes anxiety. If you want to talk please call me I would love to talk to you but cant find your number and anyway I know you are busy with moving and everything.

rattleskuttle · 02/08/2007 08:36

hello. it seems like ages since i've been on here. i'm going out working a lot more now and when i'm home ds, 14yrs, has stolen the internet connection

good luck to all those who are moving and happy holidays to the travellers!

little ds is walking a few steps now and copies his sister all the time. eg, when she draws he picks up a crayon and draws too, which makes him look very clever, but he's only copying!

he has had terrible pain with his top front teeth coming through. he went cold and clammy and listless at his lowest point and we thought something else might be wrong but it seems it was just teething. we could see his gum bleeding and it looked very swollen.

he's had his first shoes and is a size 4 - probably will have big feet like his dad's size 12s.

dd is starting the school nursery in september which is great for me, as tbh she is demanding and needs more attention than the baby. my older dcs were home ed. for their first few years but school will definitely suit dd. she loves organisation and activities, etc,

best stop now, i'm rambling

rattleskuttle · 05/08/2007 08:18

hello rattleskuttle. it looks like we've wondered into a sort of domesday scenario here - the thread is totally empty. everyone is gone. to the beach probably.

sarahlou1uk · 05/08/2007 11:21

No, I'm still here but been a bit busy. DH just had 'the snip' so have been having to do my running around duties. Bloody men, all he's got is two small slits in his skin. He's laid on the sofa moaning and groaning like his bits have been cut off! He conveniently forgets the birth of his two children where I was left with a torn fanny which made me cry everytime I went for a pee!!! Sorry, rant over.
How you doing? Going to get ready in a few minutes and go to mums for Sunday Dinner mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Can't wait. Probably be back on later.

olivo · 05/08/2007 20:55

sarahlou!

i'm still here rattleskuttle, although have spent most of the last week at the beach or the park ! think a few of the regulars are on holiday though. i am off to england on wednesday for two weeks so trying to get sorted, wading through my ironing pile etc! and at ds's size 4s, rattle - my dd isnt yet a 2 1/2 and we cant get any shoes for her

hope everyone else has enjoyed the sunny weekend!

rattleskuttle · 06/08/2007 20:46

hello sarahlou, hello olivo

have a nice time in england, olivo.

any of the babies talking much yet? ds just says "des" for yes, and makes out to talk on the phone but doesn't really say any proper words yet. although he does try to say hello too.

it's very hot here and we've been spending lots of time in the grounds of a manor house near where we live which we have a season ticket for. we'll be going to see an open air performance of romeo and juliet there next week, just me and dh, and we'll take a picnic. i'm really looking forward to it. i just hope there isn't a downpour that night, lol.

MonkeyandBabyBoo · 07/08/2007 13:03

I'm still here! Had last week off work and went on some day trips with the kids - picked a great week for it.

Sarahlou - is the snip really that bad! - I'm trying to convince my DH to have it done but I think he's wimping out - I too keep reminding him of the 2 children I have passed through my bits for him!

Enjoy your holiday Olivo. My DD is only just a 2 1/2 and they seem a tad too big so know how you feel. I know a few 11/12 month olds who have size 3.5 to 4 feet and have a good range of shoes available - only had a choice of 2 pairs for DD - luckily one of them were gorgeous little things the others were awful.

Hi Rattle - don't know if we've talked on here before, I joined MN a few months ago. My DD is trying to say a couple of words but they aren't too clear. She says 'yep' for yes, 'Ta' when I pass her something and 'mamamama' and 'dadadada' - she seems to say it to us as though she knows who she's talking too but I don't know if I'm being too proud. She trys to say 'hi' and 'bye' and waves at the same time but those words aren't that clear.

Glad some of you are still around - presume the rest are lucky enough to be somewhere hot and abroad

eenybeeny · 08/08/2007 19:37

Hi Olivo and Sarahlou and All!!!

Today Alex is one. BOOBY - thanks for calling!!! I will call you back and hopefully we can catch up!

How are you all? We went to the zoo today and tomorrow I fancy making some salt dough with Alex. Am I mad?

sarahlou1uk · 08/08/2007 22:36

Happy Birthday to Alex !
Hope you all doing well Eeny.
Molly is walking (well, holding onto furniture!) It's her birthday on the 21st and we are having a little party for her.
Can't believe all our babies are now 1 or nearly 1!! Has it been a whole year since we gave birth to our little bundles?

Monkey - the snip isn't that bad. It's my dh that likes to moan (don't all men!). It hasn't stopped him lying on the sofa watching tv all day (like normally). Luckily, it's works holiday weeks at the mo so he hasn't had to book any days off. He's back to work on Monday so no doubt we will be groaning and moaning when he gets home at tea time!

melsy · 08/08/2007 22:52

hello monkey, i am a relative newcomer too, i only found out about mn after ds was born.

late happy birthday wishes to alex and cj, we are just going to have a picnic or something at home with family around for ds' birthday (lots of balloons though, which he loves)

i am spending lots of time teaching ds to climb safely as i can't stop him finding sofas, tables, etc to climb up, never mind stairs.

i have attached a photo of him, from a couple of weeks ago.

the list is really interesting, lunavix, as it's all new to me.

my ds is called reuben connor and was born on the 24/8 and was 9lb4oz

MonkeyandBabyBoo · 15/08/2007 12:43

Hi Rattle, I didn't find MN until after I had DD either - I think it would have been very helpful before I'd have had my kids though. Your DS is a real cutie!

Happy belated birthday to all those little babes who have already turned 1! How time flies.

If mine can be added to the list, Emily Nicole was born on 28/08 and weighed 7lb 7oz.

She is teething again at the mo and has 3 molars comnig through, bless her it must be sooooo painful.

Does anyone know if the new thread has been started yet? Probably a good idea as this one is getting rather big!
