Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
rattleskuttle · 03/07/2007 13:05

well done on winning the comp, nbg

olivo and booby, hope you're better soon

well, ds has now had 4 whole days of his life without antibiotics and all seems fine so far

is anyone here becoming tsarina (organiser!)of their local mumsnet? i'm thinking of doing jersey. it will force me to socialise a bit more

Snowboo · 03/07/2007 13:08

Hi Rattle, i'm really pleased you've had good news with ds.

I've now got babygates allover the house, Austin just won't stay still. And he's walking really well now that one minute he's with me, next he's cleared off. And ds1 has hit the terrible fours. Why oh why didn't anyone warn me about this stage? I'm knackered from the constant arguing and shouting (from him btw). Just want to lock myself in my room and go to bed...
Ans Austins latest game is to get my mobile phone and throw it! It is so battered now i'm past caring.

Hope the rest of you are well, will catch up within the next year if ds settles down

Nbg · 03/07/2007 13:10

Snow, Ellis trick is to chew on my mobile so when I open in, its soaking inside.
It wont work one of these days.

olivo · 03/07/2007 13:58

snap - my dd trashed my old mobile so i got another cheap one and gave her the old one without the battery. but she now wants my new one
rattle- i wondered about the tsarina things - if you do jersey, i can give you a hand!

can i ask, has anyone else's dc had a growth spurt recently? for the last 3 nights, dd has woken in the night, and been inconsolable until i've given her a bottle, which she has wolfed down. she then goes back to sleep. does this sound like a growth/developmental spurt? she has suddenly really come on, talking and cruising loads. she's been eating stacks as well!

Nbg · 03/07/2007 14:21

Not sure about growt spurts although that sounds like one Olivo.

Ellis has started calling for me by saying mama
Its only when he's upset and wants something but even so its still nice.
I've also caught him standing on his own when he's holding something. I dont think he'll be walking for some time though.

rattleskuttle · 03/07/2007 16:44

i keep trying to get ds to talk and he does say mama and dada but indisciminately. i think he has started saying "yes" though. i ask him a question, like "do you want some banana?" and he says "des"

we have 3 floors in my house so haven't finished putting up all the stair gates yet and ds has fallen down the stairs once. he can get as far as one step up, so he wasn't hurt, thankfully.

olivo, we could share being tsarina if you like

Snowboo · 03/07/2007 21:18

Definately sounds like a growth spurt Olivo.

Well all i can say is DONT ENCOURAGE WALKING!!!! He is like lightning, been zooming all evening. Finally wore himself out thou He has also fallen down the stairs (but i wonder if he was pushed) Ds1 was in bits, kept saying sorry and aasking if Austin was broken lol! So Austin got up and wandered off, took me 20minutes to console ds1!
Austins new word is 'no' whilst vigourously (sp?) shaking his head. Was funny for a while. Not so funny at dinnertime when he throws a bowl of food at me....

Wonder how Pinkys doing? Anyone heard from her?
ANd Eeny. Whats happened to her? Shes not been about for ages, hope shes ok. Is anyone in contact with her?

melsy · 03/07/2007 23:05

I am absolutely ps'msl at all your posts about walking and waking and talking. Isn't it amazing how quick they get to this stage and yet it feels like ages ago they were baby baby's iykwim!

I cant help it snowboo its so funny when I get dd2 to walk holding her hands from above, she starts giggling and jumping and its soo hysterical !!

dd1 started talking at about 10mths (yum , bye and hello) and we dont have much from dd2 yet except lots of noise, nothing with a definite word to it anyways. She does however use some baby signing which is soo cute like ; milky , all gone and bye/hello. Shes mastered that quicker and better than dd1 , so who knows.

Olivo , dd2 seems to be waking more at the moment too , normally she goes to bed at 7 and I dont hear anything till the morning ,but last few days shes been waking, hmmm. Although she has got an awful cold and has been in a grizzly way AGAIN. Not good for my nerves after her seizure. Ive been having to talk about it alot this week as Ive been getting in touch with friends I haven't spoke with for weeks & weeks due to all the crazylifeness, (chic pox/surgery/seizure/boob lump/dd1 ill/dh ill)and Ive been soo choked (sp?) up, I think one of my friends was very upset by my news about dd2.

anywhooo moving on..............

soo this terrible 4 yr old business ???, I didnt know that (what with terrible twos and revolting 3 's), dd1 is however getting harder to discipline as she gets nearer to the big 4 lol , boy Im worn thin by the end of the day! BUT yet she is very sweet and scarily grown up with all her new ways of conversing !

Oh Olivo yes we must talk more of reiki. I think I need some more , I felt so calm for the few days after. It is a very special treatment and so great to have had when studying spiritual life. Have you had many other complimentary therapies?

ahh that reminds me sarahlou, how is yuor course going? Have you experienced any unusual happenings with your learning?

OHHHH yerrr how is eeeny doing, feels theres a gap here where they were.

BigHotMama · 04/07/2007 09:07

Jackson latest word is Bowow (dog) but he says it in a growl type of voice, its hilarious.
He says baba mama dada and nana but not sure if he knows what he means iyswim?
He has also started pointing at everything and loos at the light when I ask where it is.

WARNING : DO NOT GIVE YOUR BABY YOUR MOBILE, mine is being repaired and costing me £60 as ds broke my screen, my own fault though for giving it to him.

Snow, sounds like you got your hands full there lol, cant imagine ds walking, although his cruising is great, thinks he is spiderman at the moment trying to climb up a wall and is into crawling under everything and getting stuck in small gaps, found him underneath his walker the other day.

I often wonder where Eeny has gone? And loads of others that used to come on here its a shame as there's only few of us left. I'll probably be posting to myself soon

Hope everybody is well x

olivo · 04/07/2007 12:07

lol at posting to yourself BHM
am really disappointed, my reiki lady has hurt her back and is unable to take clients for a while. she has suggested another lady but i'm a bit funny wth discussing my emotions with people i dont know so i'm not sure if i'll phone or not.

melsy - I used to go for reiki and reflexology together and she used to use crystals too sometimes -god, they're powerful things; i once had the biggest emotional clearout, i didnt know what had hit me, then i felt fantastic a few days later. I've been for accupuncture too, when i had that awul pg itching thing, which was really good. i went for reflexology to bring on my labour too - whther it did or didnt we'll neverknow, but it was v relaxing! i tried meditation classes once but ended up falling asleep each time as i was so tired from work!! do you have any wonder-cure therapies i could try?
another day at home today - my voice is coming back but i'm wiped out, have slept since i packed dd off to nursery at 7.30. she's been up again in the night four times - an extra 14 oz last night!

dressedupnowheretogo · 04/07/2007 22:21

dressedupnowheretogo · 04/07/2007 22:38

i know me and dh are pmsl completely he keeps leggin git up stairs to count my bras sad man

olivo · 05/07/2007 08:22

! have to confess to pmsl though!

melsy · 05/07/2007 08:29

ahh morning girls

OOHH MY WORD dressed up !!! thats hilarious but creepy too. How are you ? I had to have a non pc day yesterday , couldnt shift this really bad head and fell asleep for nearly 2hrs on my sofa when dd2 went to bed after lunch.

Off to a playgroup later this morning for 10 , dont know why ,just feel I need to be getting out , weird havent felt like this for a long time. Even thinking of braving some shopping with them alone !!!!!

Need to go beautify , I look knackeerd and have a penchant for glamming up at the mo, seems to make me feel better to.

Snowrainandhail · 05/07/2007 09:01

OMG
Is it me or are there a few loonies on MN atm? Was telling dh some of the stuff and he has said to watch what i post from now on.....

Oh bugger, turns out i'm a loon

dressedupnowheretogo · 05/07/2007 10:36

lol snow

BigHotMama · 05/07/2007 19:19

Lol Booby sounds like a mad man?

Please somebody help me, I have become addicted to Ebay and cant stop bidding am hoping to get some bargains for me and ds for our holidays. Isnt it fab eh?

Went to playgroup earlier but Ds' girlfriend wasnt there today so he played with the other girls bless him.

And I'll definately be trying reflexology to bring on my next labour, no way I'm waiting for 2 weeks next time! My sister's dp used to have regular reiki sessions and he have to pull over in hiscar on way home to have a full on blarting moment, he said not sure what it does but strong emotional stuff that cleanses your mind and body.

sarahlou1uk · 05/07/2007 20:03

BHM - as a trainee reflexologist, I must tell you that reflexology cannot bring on labour (well, we are not allowed to treat you for that )

olivo · 06/07/2007 12:36

good morning, stalkers!
am finally feeling a bit better, probably 'cos yesterday and today i slept for an extra 4 hours during the day! spent half of last night wondering when dd was going to wake - she didnt wake till 4 which is a definite improvemnet, hopefully she's getting throught the growth spurt.
dd's new carseat has just arrived - dh had been using her first one as he doesnt need one very often, but i got a fisherprice seat that converts into a booster eventually for 59 quid, delivered, from amazon!and it came overnight!!
have an afternoon of ironing ahead - i love being off work - and only two weeks to go once i go back on monday! hurray!
sarahlou - that's what my reflexologist said too
hope all are well
x

MonkeyandBabyBoo · 06/07/2007 12:53

Glad your feeling better Olivo.

I've had most of this week off work as dd had a little accident on Tuesday - nothing serious but now feel like a really bad mum, and ds has been poorly . Back at work today and quite glad because I was starting to go stir crazy!

Did get chance to catch up with the ironing though (why does that feel like such an acheivement these days! )

olivo · 06/07/2007 13:08

hi monkey. hope your dd is ok now, and your ds. i know what you mean, much as i dont enjoy work at the mo,i feel a bit lost at home!

MonkeyandBabyBoo · 06/07/2007 14:40

They are both fine now thanks. DS was fine by yesterday afternoon - started running round like a lune so took him to the local park, even though it was chucking it down with rain - he loved it in the wet though!

melsy · 07/07/2007 17:07

ahh monkey ,glad ds is ok now. I know how u feel ,dd2 also had an accident today and feel sick and stupid about it , dh was furious with me, its could have been terrible and I think I knew it may happen. She also seems fine now ,but I will worry now for a few days, boy has this little one given us some aching hearts!

Dinner time for kids in chez melsy and dh has disappeared to homebase or somewhere for change , , he always seems to do that at the weekend , leaving me to do the same things over and over and over again . Sat sometimes feels no different to weekdays.

Meant to be having a bbq tomomnorow , but garderner guys have said they will be staining the deck in the morning (as its finally dry 1st time in 2 weeks!), please pray it drys in time , weve got all the meat in the fridge . Wed cancel all , but a) its due to rain AGAIN FGS and b) did I say we had all the meat already, madness I know ............... Pimms anyone , I think Im losing it !!!

Hope everyones enjoying the sun wheheyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Snowrainandhail · 07/07/2007 22:24

ohh Mels, i'd love a Pimms. To go with the white/red/rose white i've had so far this evening. And yes i needed it!!

Monkey, glad dd is ok. Gosh they are a worry aren't they? My poor neighbour is forever popping in or i to them to check both ds's lateset accidents. (Hence all the wine, its her fault )

Oh i'm tipsy. Time for more i think.
