hi not been on for ages. Unfortunately lo has been in hosp for 2 weeks as I had a stupid terrible accident with coffee. It was so scary, he was in intensive care for 2 days and then in isolation for 2 weeks. His right arm, and right side of chest and back were injured, worst bit is his arm as he had a t-shirt on and it landed on bare skin there. we came home yesterday and he hasn't stopped smiling since we got home.
I never knew how devastating a scald could be, so if anything positive can come out of this, I am going to heighten awareness of everyone I know to try and stop it happening to anyone else. It is much more serious than just a skin injury, as it affects the whole body. There is a risk of toxic shock syndrome (what women who wear tampons can get), fortunately he didn't get that, infection is also big risk along with other things going wrong associated with the shock of the injury. At one point my lo wasn't absorbing any food so couldn't get any nutrition which was very scary.
Hey ho, we are home and happy at last now, just lots of outpatient visits for dressing changes for a while. Just NEVER try and push a pram and carry a tray of food at the same time is all I can say. Also don't have little ones in kitchen in babywalker, as happened to a little girl who came on ward 2 days after us. Sorry for long post but take heed please!!
Rumpel you have distracted me no end with your funny tales of pole dancing and gingeme i cannot believe you are pg again - what happend to the domdoms!!!!!!!!!?????????? Good luck and congratulations.
