Yes because I chose to use the time lapse incubator it seems that I'm getting an update everyday. I think the 2 cell has probably been discarded. The odds are so small for this to work.

stealthbanana · 24/02/2020 20:36

Ah right, how amazing that they can do that. Keeping everything crossed with one still in the game!

lucieloos · 24/02/2020 20:52

Ahh it's crazy just wish we had loads of money as I would just keep going as I don't really find it that stressful now we have 2 children. I think it's still doable at 40 but you have to be able to have a good number of rounds. I think I could get one more round out of dh but that's about it as otherwise we start getting into spending serious money again.

stealthbanana · 24/02/2020 20:58

Haha once you set your mind to it...

Well hopefully you won’t need (many) more rounds. Remember the ivf rule - have a plan, but cross the bridges when you come to them!

lucieloos · 25/02/2020 10:26

Results are in...a mixed bag.... I thought they had discarded the 2 cell yesterday as they put number of suitable embryos - 1 and number of non suitable embryos - 1 but I've looked again today and we have 1x6 cell and 1x 5 cell and both are classed as suitable again! They both seem to be a bit slow for day 3 though so not sure what to think really. On to tomorrow...

stealthbanana · 25/02/2020 11:58

I told you @lucieloos! I honestly think they go at their own pace. That’s great news! You’re pgsing anything that gets to blast right?

lucieloos · 25/02/2020 12:20

Yes doing pgs if anything makes it. Big leaps now tomorrow and Thursday. I looked back at my records previously and I've had 6x 6 cell and 2x 5 cell before and none have made it past day 4 but trying to remain hopeful 😬

stealthbanana · 25/02/2020 17:52

Well there’s a first time for everything. Keeping all fingers crossed.

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 27/02/2020 04:40

Gah sorry Lucy I lost track of days and didn't realise you were so far ahead in terms of cycle stage
Keeping everything crossed that it's going OK for you.

lucieloos · 27/02/2020 10:21

So it's day 5 and we got the results! The 5 cell is still a 5 cell but the 6 cell made it to hatching blast so hopefully we have one to test! They haven't told me about that bit yet. There's about a 1 in 3 to 4 chance it will be normal now so still a long way to go.

stealthbanana · 27/02/2020 10:45

That’s so great @lucieloos, still in the game! Now the long wait for pgs....

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 27/02/2020 10:50

That's great news lucie - so nerve wracking but so excited for you too xx

lucieloos · 27/02/2020 11:04

Yes I'm kind of glad of the break at the moment. I can forget about it for the next 10-14 days now. I still think this is where it will fail but feel pleased that at least we got to test something. I think if we could have made 2 blasts per round it would have been more viable and a decent chance as we could have done 2 rounds and tested 4 blasts so there would have been quite a good chance then but we aren't going to be able to afford do 4 rounds to collect 4 blasts.

star1980 · 01/03/2020 05:44

Just up doing night feeds with DS who is 5 weeks now and catching up on your new @lucieloos! Can’t believe when I last checked in a few weeks ago you were unsure whether to go again and now you have a blast to test! I have absolutely everything crossed for you that you get a viable embryo that becomes baby number 3. Also well done on making the decision and going for it, you are amazing Smile

lucieloos · 01/03/2020 19:28

Aww thanks so much @star1980 it would be amazing if it did! Hope everything is going well with you and baba! That 5 weeks seems to have flown by.

Chocolateandwineplease27 · 13/03/2020 09:32

Have you had your results back yet @lucieloos? X

lucieloos · 14/03/2020 17:10

@Chocolateandwineplease27 no still waiting! Taking longer than it has before. Don't know if it's because of the coronavirus impact or that's just how long it takes. Been 2 weeks now.

lucieloos · 18/03/2020 08:21

Partial monosomy 8 :-( They are going to double check whether there anything at all that we can do with it but doesn't sound good. With the coronavirus and travel restrictions etc I think that will be the end of the road for us sadly.

stealthbanana · 18/03/2020 20:26

Oh @lucieloos sorry to hear that. What is partial Monosomy 8 - I’m not familiar with it. Are they obliged to destroy the embie?

lucieloos · 18/03/2020 22:22

@stealthbanana I really don't know it seems to cover so much from autism and epilepsy through to small head, heart abnormalities. I will wait to hear back as I really don't know anymore but even if they said we could transfer I doubt we would. Although realistically I don't think for a minute they will.

stealthbanana · 18/03/2020 23:31

Oh @lucieloos how devastating. Look after yourself, what a rollercoaster x

lucieloos · 18/03/2020 23:40

Thanks @stealthbanana you too x

stealthbanana · 07/04/2020 10:37

Hey @lucieloos hoping you’re ok. Any more news from clinic? It must be such a hard time to be dealing with this while covid goes on and travel is restricted. Thinking of you xx

lucieloos · 08/04/2020 19:29

Hi @stealthbanana yes the embryo wasn't recommended for transfer because the genetic disorder is fatal. I think it's probably the end of the road for us. I was planning to go back again before covid and we would have been going out this weekend but they are saying probably July now which I think seems optimistic although Czech are lifting a lot of their restrictions but just depends on the rest of us. The thing is I will have turned 41 by then and it was never really my plan to have kids at that age and the odds must be so low. I just wish I was 5 years younger but then I can't complain having been lucky enough for it to have worked twice for me.

Have you had anymore thoughts about a third @stealthbanana ?

stealthbanana · 09/04/2020 07:34

Oh @lucieloos so sorry to hear it, the inability to travel must be so frustrating. I was thinking the other day how besides themselves those going through treatment for their potential 1st baby must be. Assume alll the clinics have closed. Horrible.

We are still toying with the idea of no 3, am still very conflicted about having another 2 year period of being pregnant + then having a
