Hope everyone is doing ok. Happy Friday!

Blue2014 · 07/01/2017 05:46

Spent all Xmas avoiding sick people but DH had caught an awful cough and is sleeping downstairs. I have a sore throat so am clearly going to get it. Am a little heartbroken, really don't want DS to be poorly - the thought makes me want to cry! He's so little and I just want to protect him. Sodding stupid colds Sad

Hello! Can I please join in? My little IVF Frostie was born on New Yesr's Eve (can't believe he is a week old today Shock) and I can't believe he is here!
Our journeys are so long and hard and then when you finally have the most perfect baby in your arms it just feels like a dream!
Sounds like all you ladies are taking to motherhood fantastically Smile
Such a happy thread to be a part of xxx

Blue2014 · 07/01/2017 14:09

Ellie welcome
Blue how are you feeling? I've also got the Lurgy - praying baby boris stays healthy. Did baby blue avoid catching it? X

stealthbanana · 10/01/2017 17:52

blue I think when we get sick we transmit the antibodies to our babies via breast milk so wouldn't count on baby blue getting ill. Ditto boris. Hope both of you stayed healthy!

I got my first smile from DS today. Am officially heart melted.

Welcome ellie!

Blue2014 · 11/01/2017 10:01

Oh yay for the smile Smile how wonderful

So far so good in terms of avoiding sickness. It does mean Bluelet has spent less time with his dad this week though which has made him more clingy with me which DH is a bit sad about.

Currently online so I don't fall asleep on DS who has decided he wants to. So ...

Ha, wrote the above at 4am. Clearly did fall asleep!

Good to know about the antibodies. Baby boris is also starting to smile - I've never been so in love with anyone like this before.

I've started a thread on the childbirth section asking this... . I have a small graze, a 1st degree tear from giving birth 6 weeks ago. It's still not healed and is sore. How long does it normally take too heal? Has anyone got any experiences? My gp at our 6 week check was very dismissive of my concerns about it. I'm not sure how long it should take to heal, and if it doesn't heal, when to go back and demand help.

Blue2014 · 11/01/2017 17:25

Sorry Boris - I was c section so no idea! Sorry to hear about it though

Hi ladies, sorry to gate crash! I have a 23 month old following infertility and we're now starting to gather test results to visit Reprofit in the spring. It'll be my first ivf (dd was a ridiculously unlikely natural conception just prior to ivf). I'm now a bit worried about Reprofit reading some of the above comments. Would you recommend? So far I've been emailing Tina.

Oh and congratulations on your babies! My bitterness of infertility has never left and I don't think it ever will. Since my dd, now in addition to calculating time from people's wedding to pregnancy announcement, I now calculate age gaps when I see families with more than one child... xx

Borisisback · 12/01/2017 10:55

Scottish congrats on your 23 month old. What a blessing to have a miracle baby.

Reprofit was clean, organised and very efficient for my husband and I. They deal with loads of couples successfully. Baby boris was a sucess story at our first time if trying which is a recommendation in itself. My coordinator was cristina she wasn't always helpful, didn't always answer questions and I needed to be very proactive to work out what I needed and ask for things directly. Fortunately for me people in the Czech republic don't seem to mind blunt and direct communications.

We will go back for siblings for baby boris - so they aren't to bad. Id use a different coordinator though.

My experience seems the exception not the normal. I would reccomend checking all the bit if the procedure out before you start, work out what drugs you need and the anticipated timelines. I would get prescriptions sent early for everything. Ask for extra prescriptions in case you say need more drugs than normally needed so if you need to up drug levels quickly then you have prescriptions. I got all prescriptions both emailed and posted then I found a friendly pharmacist in the UK who helped me source the drugs. Good luck!

PonyPals · 12/01/2017 11:02

Have a 13 months DS here and he is our IVF miracle after 7 long years.
Congratulations ladies on all your precious little babies Smile

Scottishgirl85 · 12/01/2017 12:33

Thank you Boris! I really appreciate your reply when I just bull-dozed in, it's really helped put my mind at ease. We're still at the filling-out-the-questionnaire stage, all the while dragging my heels in case of another miracle.... But we're becoming more and more aware of the growing age gap, it will be a 3 year gap if we are lucky first time with ICSI, and then of course much longer if things don't work out. And I always imagined having 3 children :-( I'm most stressed about the drugs, sourcing them etc, and the fact you have to trust someone in another country that you have never met! And then there is deciding when to start, we have so many work committments, weddings, etc, work full time, busy toddler etc I'm struggling to know when it will all happen once we submit the questionnaire. Trying to stay calm but so far not working...

Hope you're all getting on well with the newborns! x

Blue2014 · 12/01/2017 18:51

Scottish, I would highly recommend Reprofit. It's clean, efficient, cheap and obviously it worked for me (first time) I would go back if I wanted a sibling for DS (not sure I do now)

My coordinator was eva, she was lovely and very helpful. My dr was Hana who was wonderful, very supportive and genuine and down to earth.

I ordered my meds from the pharmacy attached to the clinic, it was very easy.

You can start treatment whenever, I had to postpone mine for several months And it was no problem

Thanks so much Blue! I hope I can come back here some day if we're successful! Congratulations on your son, enjoy every moment, it's such a cliché but it goes so fast! x

Scottish I got some if my drugs from the pharmacy attached to the clinc that was easy, and some from my local ASDA (as at the time that was much cheaper) and the instructions were in English in the packets. I also used ali's pharmacy in London for some last minute medications when I had to change the meds due to complications - they couriers me drugs overnight. If you go to fertility friends and look for the reprofit threads you'll get loads of advice and support there.

QOD · 13/01/2017 19:15

Awwww you guys 🙃😍😋
I have an 18 year old through straight surrogacy so reading all this has made me alllll gooey

lildottie · 19/01/2017 13:42

Hi again all. Hope you are all getting on well. Been a while since I was here but reading back about your sleep issues, don't expect it to get better lol. 7m DS currently waking to bf 4-6 times a night. Nap when you can! It's so worth it to see his lovely smiling face each day and to know he's getting the best he can from my boobs! I recently joined a GB breastfeeding support group and felt reassured that I'm not alone.

Be careful with formula top ups affecting supply, especially this early on. DS currently has an aversion to left boob in the day so stood pumping as I write this!

HP07 · 25/01/2017 10:13

Hi, I'm a bit late to the party. I didn't realise that this thread had been created. Going to read through and see how everyone is getting on. So great to see some familiar names. X

MPP81 · 25/01/2017 10:15

Hello all! Just stalking checking in and catching up with you all. So glad to see everything is going well :-)

Blue and Boris, Reprofit asked me to let them know if I got a bfp, and when I emailed saying I had, I had an email thanking/congratulating me and asking to let them know of live birth. I wonder why they dont chase for themselves afterwards? I'm also interested in how they get their stats in that case.

Scottish I know you asked your question a little while ago, and may not still be here, but if you are, I had Tina as my co-ordinator and she was ok for the most part. I had one issue where I tried to contact her to see if I needed to change my med dosage after my scan and it was getting to the end of the day and I hadnt heard back, so I phoned up. The receptionist said she would chase for me and I had an email response a few minutes later. Other than that, no problems. Reprofit in general I thought were fantastic from start to finish. Such a lovely, clean, organised place, and we were successful first time too. I got my meds from the pharmacy next to the clinic, and usually paid for next day delivery. No problems with that, but the instructions didnt come in English, so I came here in a panic and everyone sorted me out and pointed me in the direction of youtube videos! My experience was pretty good :-) Good luck!!

Will keep lurking to see how everyone is doing, and hope to be joining you all sometime in April :-)

HP07 · 25/01/2017 10:34

Oh so lovely to catch up with the girls from the antenatal thread - blue, stealth and boris and nice to see some new names too. AFM baby HP is 16 weeks old and doing really well, he's 16lb 3oz now which puts him in 75th centile so a big boy! Had lots and lots of problems with breastfeeding including suspected thrush, tongue tie and a lump in one breast that needed a biopsy and it's still not perfect and sone days it's extremely painful but I'm persevering as it's something I really wanted to do. The birth went very well after induction due to going overdue. Now we are enjoying going to swimming lessons, baby massage and a first time mums group. I'm hoping to start sing a sign after Easter too. How are all of you getting on? X

blue2014 · 26/01/2017 19:37

Hi MP and HP.

Lovely to hear your catch up HP. Bluelet is a HUGE boy (99th percentile) and I can't find clothes to fit his big belly Grin

Lovely to hear all the things you are up to. I intend to try baby group in 1 week time.

stealthbanana · 05/02/2017 11:01

Hi all! Hope everyone is going well. Baby stealth is 7 weeks today and a proper little man now. Lots of smiles and coos and explosive poos and farts. He hit the 5kg mark at his 6 week check and is 90th percentile for length and head size so is clearly feeding well. Breastfeeding has been so straightforward it's been great, although it is incredibly intense I think I am going to start introducing some regular bottles of ebm soon. HP so glad you figured it out.

Sleeping is going well although we are not in any kind of daytime rhythm yet at all - how is everyone else doing? Fortunately it doesn't seem to affect his nights but I am thinking it might now be time to try to introduce more of a day routine.

blue2014 · 08/02/2017 02:19

Hey stealth - Bluelet 9 weeks today. Sleep not bad but not great - just up for a feed and nappy change and now I'm awake while he's asleep!

Anyone go to any baby groups yet? I'm worried I'll hate them
