Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LadyTophamHatt · 28/02/2007 14:20

Trixy, Ds2 is nearly 6 now so it was quite a while ago but I don't remeber them being huge amounts of cash.

I think we spent about £100 but we got alot of photos for that, including a set that gets taken over a year, so they had to come back every 6 months or so.

RGee · 28/02/2007 15:50

My lo was spotty until c 7 weeks. HV said it was acne caused by my hormones, and would go soon. Acne - poor child!

Wilkie / LTH - pmsl at bogies tales, as i'd just tortured myself this morning with thinking whether or not it was right for me to pick my daughter's nose. It was HUUUUUUUGGGGEEEE, so I kept it for dh. He's just got in and wasn't as impressd as me!

RGee · 28/02/2007 15:51

Oh - forgot to say welcome Muckypup. Hope all well.

Lizzzombie · 28/02/2007 15:53

I considered sticking Dylan's first bogey in his baby book (not much else in there at the moment!)
I hung up on the emmas diary photo lady as I thought it was a scam thing. Have a new self styled job when I get bored though, as a baby stylist. When Dylan is in a good mood its fun to dress him up and make him pose for the camera.
I'll put some up on my profile so you can see the results of my photo sessions!
He is my real life dolly! [immature mother emotion]
He has a huge whitehead on his chin, and I keep going to pick it, then pull my fingers away. I will have to airbrush it from his photo sessions if it gets any bigger.
My sister didnt just pick her babies noses, and squeeze their milk spots, she picked off their cradle cap too!

Lizzzombie · 28/02/2007 15:54

BTW - Muckypup - my LO snuffles like a pig truffling when he feeds off my udders!

trixymalixy · 28/02/2007 16:22

LOL at udders!! I feel like a milking cow too, especially when expressing!!

The woman from Emma's diary phened when I was asleep,so I was still half asleep when I said yes otherwise I would probably have been more suspicious.

LadyTophamHatt · 28/02/2007 17:17

Picking cradle cap is one of lifes great pleasures.....

vinorouge · 28/02/2007 17:45

I took ellen into work today to show her off which was good except the bus driver on the way home made me cry cos I hadn't collapsed the pushchair in advance ( I hadn't needed to on the way there it was one of the low rise ones). I still got on and struggled to collapse it in the middle of the bus with all other passengers watching so felt like an air hostess doing the safety demo! The trauma of it all meant I HAD to buy a large bar of fruit and nut to be enjoyed later.

EAH - I love the pink pushchair! I so wish I hadwaited til I knew whether I'd had a girl or boy before choosing pushchair so I could have had pink. Looking at your pic has meant I've discovered mumsnet profiles for the first time, must set my own up now.

ellieandhattie · 28/02/2007 18:07

vinrouge i have had to wait 3 years to get pink one as bought neutral every other time in case i had a boy, have to say i do love having a pink pushchair although i did buy a black parasol a thought pink one with the pushchair may have been a little ott

i love picking both dd's bogies although have to be careful with ellies or she starts rooting around up there

Was meant to be going to soft play centre for goddaughters 3rd bday today but m20 shut causing loads of traffic etc and couldnt get there so friend had to cancel and rearranged all the kids to go to her house. As the original plan was that friend picked us up on the way dh took the car so bless my dad he left work picked us up stopped via tescos to get all the party food for my friend took us to friends house where in half hour we made all the party food, sorted games etc and then had 13 children arrive. It was actually really good and worked out really well especially as one of the childrens mum is a ballet teacher so she bought her props and had all the girls in ballet costumes teaching them good toes/bad toes etc and another friend did face painting it was all so cute

ellieandhattie · 28/02/2007 18:11

LTH - love the new pic of smiley george on your profile still trying to catch hattie on camera

ellieandhattie · 28/02/2007 18:14

forgot to say welcome muckypup i am not near you but you could look at the meet up section as there may be some other mnetters near you

ellieandhattie · 28/02/2007 18:15

Had to go to the hospital today for my postnatal because I had pre eclampsia they had to do it there instead of the docs what a flippin waste of time that was she checked my bp and then asked if my tear was ok I thought I bloody hope so shes 7 weeks now, she then said ok I dont think we need to see you again I thought well I wouldnt be coming back even if you did. I did however have a real on the way out I realised I was bleeding and it went through my jeans I told you I had started my pill again well at the minute im on my seven day break so my first period has started I was preapred for it and had a tampon in lol lol however I had this massive bleed it was vile and very embarresing just glad it happrened on the way out.

Eah did you get to the bottom of the david beckham thing ?

LadyTophamHatt · 28/02/2007 19:47

I've realised recently why I found Georges birth so awful...it's quite a read but it's kind of nice to have it all "on paper" and a huge relief to be able to see why it was soooo bad.

It's here if you fancy a read.

ellieandhattie · 28/02/2007 20:03

no laughalot she never expanded will hunt katwith3kittens down and demand a full explanation

Hope all the poorly ones feel better soon we had that a few weeksgo and you feel so rough with it for 24 hours

lth - glad typing that as made you realise that all that worrying was just thoughts and that george is here safe and sound (and very cute as per your pics have to think about potential husbands for hattie )

ellieandhattie · 28/02/2007 20:05

did that last aragraph make sense I know what I was trying to say but as usual probably didn't come out right

LadyTophamHatt · 28/02/2007 21:27

2Happy · 01/03/2007 02:25

Damn your babies must be getting older, the rate the chat has picked up on this thread!
Hello muckypup, sorry I'm not in london either
Trixy, dsis and I did the Emma's diary thing too with my ds1 nbd her dd. It was good her coming to the house, the prints weren't cheap but they do various packages that save yuo money. I loved that they were digital so you could see and choose your prints then and there.
laughalot - hope the d&v settles. what a crppy day, i've flooded lots of times, v heavy periods ( tmi), once onto someone;s white sofa, aaaagh. i've now been pg or bf or both since sept 04, and had 2 babies and 1 period in that time, it's great!! I'm going to try the mini-pill, but if it doesn't suit I'm going to get a mirena coil, then bye bye periods for ever

ellieandhattie · 01/03/2007 08:25

LTH love the superman outfit showed hattie but she wa smore interested in going to sleep at the time however ellie did say awww baby and I said thats baby george and she kissed the computer screen, do you think George may like the older lady ???

Had a fab night last night Hattie asleep by 7 dream feed at 9.30 as I was tired and wanted to go to bed and she slept till 4 quick 10 minute feed and back to sleep till 7, have made her 6pm and 10pm bottles with hungrier baby milk which seems to see her through a bit longer and thens he has normal baby milk in the day

Shimmer · 01/03/2007 09:25

Day 3 of The Routine and freddie slept from 10pm til 5 (7 hours!!) and then from 5:30 til 7:30. And was the happiest i've seen him in the daytime EVER since he was born yesterday. Horray!!! Fingers crossed it lasts. I've never been very organized or into routines but looks like the LO prefers it that way. I was reading a baby horoscope thing yesterday (honestly, the crap that gets e-mailed to me!!...) and it said of capricorn babies (23 dec-19 jan):
"Capricorn babies thrive on routine and order, which gives them the sense of security they need."
Also said
"They are usually even-tempered and self-contained. Capricorns can be strong-willed and will get what they want by slowly wearing down parental resistance. Young Capricorns tend to prefer older company and they enjoy pretending to be grown-up. Your child will probably prefer to have just one or two close friends rather than being a part of a large group. They should be taught how to express their very sensitive inner emotions and how to relax, because Capricorns are natural worriers.
Capricorns usually love to read and to make things."

Sound familiar to anyone yet???

Shimmer · 01/03/2007 09:38

Hi Muckypup. Welcome. I'm in London too. I live near Russell Square at the moment and probably will for some time, even though DP and I have constant discussions about if central Londons the best place to bring up kids. We both think its probably not really, but we love it here and our jobs and my family are here

Trying to get used to public transport in london with the LO at the moment. Have managed quite a few bus trips and taxis. NOT ready for the tube! How are you getting on - or do you have a car? Vinorouge- my BIGGEST FEAR is a bus driver asking me to collapse the pram. I really don't think I'd manage it with one hand!! So far I have just been risking it and living in fear whenever i get on a bus of someone in a wheelchair getting on.
