'bagsy' - lol . Consider them yours x

ChaCha · 21/05/2007 12:31

Have just spent the last ten minutes typing a message only to return from front door to find the PC had crashed

So in a nutshell girls. Was bit concerned about the personal info that is stored on here (just type your MN name into a google search for proof) and although that is each person's perogative the Y group also holds all our addresses and numbers so add two and two together... won't go further than that hence the email but everyone i'm sure knows what i mean. Think the Y group members list should be updated too. That was the jist of my message. Sorry for any concern, was just looking out for everyone. In hindsight though, what the hell would anyone want with mine or my families info..in a former life maybe

p.s. I always refuse the vouchers as have never had a need for them. Will start collecting if you have use for them GG.

Have a good day everyone and will skulk back under my paranoid stone Love to all x

feetheart · 21/05/2007 12:44

Hello all, hope I haven't been gone too long?

Not sure if we actually lost our internet connection over the past few weeks or not! I've been keeping up with things, just, but haven't posted.

Well done Diege on the interview.

BB - at you being busy every w/e between now and Sept! I can hardly cope looking 2 weeks ahead! Saying that we finally booked our ferry for Isle of Man last night. It is, hopefully, a gathering of the clans as my step-father is organising a surprise party for my Mum who will be 70 this year. My brother, his wife and their 6 children plus his twin (my sister!) and her husband all live on the island now so it made sense to have it there. Back to the campsite with the chicken alarm clock!!!!
Off camping this w/e too if the forecast is OK - a juggling festival in Suffolk. First time this year so we are debating whether A will be in with us (as last year) or in with T.

Will try and do an update when I get a chance, I can hear someone waking up so need to sort lunch out.

feetheart · 21/05/2007 12:46

LOL at 'paranoid stone' ChaCha

novadandypowder · 21/05/2007 15:05

I wouldn't say you were paranoid Chacha - I agree that it's so easy to forget that other people can access this thread. I hadn't even thought about what you raised re: the Y group but you are right to be concerned. I can't remember who set it up?? was it BAM? I'm sure my details are scattered all over the internet anyway - as a freelancer in TV my CV was online - but I can understand why you would want more privacy/security.

Realised today I don't have a hope of getting to the shops so did a silly amount of online shopping. I'm sure when it gets here it will all be the wrong size/shape/colour but at least I have something to look forward to!

And I'm sorry ladies, but yummy or not, nothing can excuse what Brian was wearing on GITW on saturday night.

BrownieBells · 21/05/2007 18:34

Have toa gree Nova - very ruffley!, but still wouldn't say No!!

Chacha - sorry, I didn't get the yahoo email (could someone forward it on?) so am still a little fuddled - am sure I shouldn't be, but it would probably be quicker and make it clearer if someone could forward it on to me....thanks

We have had a very busy day here today....met my firend and her 2 dd's and went off to a Tots 'n' Tunes thing - first time at one of these for me....not sure my Little Man knew what to make of it - he only livened up at the end when they played the Noddy Theme tune!? He knew some of the other songs, but just kept looking at the woman as if to say "Who on earth are you - you loon!?" Then this afternoon, we went over to the same friends village and played in the park! Down the slides, in the wooden house thing, and generally running in the opposite direction to Mummy and the pushchair!!!!

Right, off to get tea finished, then need to sort out tonnes of stuff for Camp to take to Brownies tomorrow, as have the parents meeting.....!

might be back later

GreedyGecko · 22/05/2007 22:54

Wow! Busy, busy night at work tonight, but have come home with over £60 tips which for a Tues is fantastic. The more the better for my Disney pot. DP really will have to restrain me in the shops.

Nova, thanks

Thank You everyone for asking. I'm doing OK. Have stopped crying, and I rememebr when DP was on these ADs that was teh first improvement with him. I knid of feel fired up too, like I'm ready for a fight, which is not me at all, I always shy away from any confrontation.

From what you've said on here ChaCha re personal info etc, I do agree. It is very easy to forget that everyone can see this thread. The info I've given on this thread it would be so, so easy to find me. I guess naive to think that no-one would be interested in what we have to say, unfortunately there are some 'odd' people out there. Not really sure what could be done re Y group.

Am really looking forward to Girls Aloud next Tues. A few rucks with ticketmaster becasue I still don't have my tickets, so now have to pick them up on the night.

'MrMischief' has certainly been living up to his name. I was putting somethign back in the fridge the other day (which is a couple of steps from the kitchen), went bak into the kitchen and he was in the sink. I need a straight jacket for him, but I think he'd manage to get out of that. Oh and he also put my watch in 'robot dogs' (don't ask, ds1 will only answer to that at the moment. ) breakfast this morning. He does his own breakfast, handful by handful. He'd done it today, and was sat down eating it, and half way through he called me over, and had found my watch in his rice krispies. Amazingly it still works!

Anyway, I've rabbitted on for long enough now. Speak soon xx

Ps where's Londoner? Hope you're all OK xx

GreedyGecko · 22/05/2007 22:56

It's almost a month since she last posted. Really hope everythings OK with you Londoner.

twinkle1 · 23/05/2007 08:22

Hi everyone!! TWINKLE: arghh!! had forgotten about half-term...in all honesty don't think I could manage all 3 of them on bus, then train, then tram, to Salford . I'll give it some thought..as I was really looking forward to meeting up - if only I drove!!!
Haven't had a chance to read through I'm afraid - will try to catch up later

GreedyGecko · 23/05/2007 12:13

Thanks nova, got those vouchers today.

Hasd the radio on this morning and 'put your hands up for detroit' came on. MrMischief stood there with his hands in the air! Very cute!

twinkle1 · 23/05/2007 19:39

twinkle

Rodeo · 23/05/2007 21:55

Just a quickie - my connection is still dodgy, so I've come round to BILs to use his broadband to sneak on here and book my holiday!
Twinkle aw poor ds you mean mummy!
GG, glad your not so tearful now - I'm sure your 'fight' mode will subside too
Chacha - No don't think your being paranoid I know I'm really lapse about stuff like that (I still bin bank statements ) but won't mention anybody else's dc's names or locations on here! I'll prob still mention mine by name every now and again (I do live with a Karate intructor though ) but I'll try not to mention I live in Derby....oops [lost cause]
Diege, what pushchairs do you have now? My quinny's getting a bit ricketty (with a few handy kicks it will be anyway and TBH I'm bored with it! ) I fancied one of the LuLu McClaren's, any views?
Hi Feetheart - have a brill time at your juggling convention! This must be the 3rd time you've been since joining the thread IIRC !
Brownie, is it camp this weekend? Gulp! Good luck!
Nova - agree - ruffles is a NoNo. Diege, I can't believe you're not with us on this one! Joseph indeed....
Anyway, bye for now, enjoy all the sunshine and I'll try to be back soon...Bye x

novadandypowder · 24/05/2007 08:56

Just have to post in my excitement - I'm a whole dress size smaller than I was even before having noo . I haven't been a size 10 in years - woo hoo!! Now....just need to keep it off or DH will kill me for spending out on lots of new clothes....

ChaCha · 24/05/2007 20:48

That's great news Nova I haven't been a size 10 since my early 20's and am still finding it very difficult to lose any weight at all. My DH would buy me a whole new wardrobe if i was that size again - I just don't seem able to stick to things i start, have always been terrible for that. Fad Queen. Congrats - am totally envious in best possible way

Just waiting for bath to fill. Have had an awful day and am shattered. You have to have them though don't you? Will be glad to see the toys all away and the boys asleep.
Hope everyone is well. Still no Beks or Londoner I see...anyone had any contact?

Best make most of 'bath' time. x

novadandypowder · 24/05/2007 21:33

I must say it's all down to pole dancing chacha, and the uphill walk to pick up noo from nursery and pushing at least 3 stone of weight on the walk back. I still need to firm up my jelly belly though. My DH has bought me a whole new wardrobe...he just doesn't know it yet .

Miniman has bad cradle cap, I end up covered in flakes of skin. Noo has started crying when we drop her off at nursery again, I have no idea why as she's always happy when I pick her up .

Hope you enjoyed your bath.

GreedyGecko · 24/05/2007 23:22

well done nova.

I spoke to Beks a couple of nights ago, her & boys are fine .

Another good night at work, certainly building the spending money up. Some of the mums from school came in for a meal, so I finished quite early & then sat and had a drink with them which was really nice.

Seen my GP today & she has doubled up my ADs, so hopefully will be feeling a bit brighter again soon.

Night night all xx

Diege · 25/05/2007 13:30

Afternoon! Just a quick one as I'm at work. Well done NOVA! Enjoy the new clothes!! Hi GG - glad work is good and fingers crossed that you start to feel better soon CHACHA: Better day for you today hopefully - agree though that we all have days where the tine can't move fast enough, and I'm praying for dds bedtime! (to the extent of bringing it forward an hour on occasion!). RODEO: re: buggies, I had a Lulu Maclaren that I sold to nuy a Zapp. I've been a big fan of maclarens over the years, but the one thing I prefer about the zapp is that it is so easy to push one-handed,whereas the maclarens alsways seem to gradually veer off at an angle.. Have heard good things about the new silver cross buggies - are they called the 'pop' or something similar? About £100?
Well, off out tonight with friends from work who I've just finsihed writing a book with. We've signed the legal stuff,so can sit back and relax! Should be a good night. My birthday is on Sunday, so looking forward to a good lie-in! DH was going to take me out for a meal on the saturday night, but of course Joseph is on and our recorcer is broken, so... I'm staying in . How sad is that! We are going out Sunday instead though, so not tooo sad!
TWINKLE!!!! Would you be able to make Salford on MOnday 4th instead? I'll just have dd1 with me, which is soo easy.
Right, best get some work done!

twinkle1 · 25/05/2007 20:30

Diege,
sorry i can't on the 4th as i work mondays, what about that wed?????? Life is so busy isn't it.Well sam is off at scout camp so its much quiter at the min
twinkle

Diege · 25/05/2007 22:48

Hi TWINKLE!! We have two weeks half term here, so second wed causes same probs as first . The following weds I'm at a conference, but could do the one after?? Arghh!! I'll have to check the calender and see where that takes us up to!

ChaCha · 25/05/2007 23:40

GG - Is good to see read your news Tips sound great, keep saving them - you're going to have a fantastic holiday - you deserve it! Enjoy the concert, just what you need.

Diege - What's the book all about then? I'm intrigued. A very happy birthday in advance Hope you have a lovely day with DH and the girls.

Glad to hear Beks is okay.

Better day today, maybe because we were out and about. Took DS1 to hairdresser, screamed place down and we literally had to pin him to the chair but managed to shave back and sides short and keep a good length on top. He looks very grown up now. Completely different again.
Off to bed for me. DH is working all weekend and Monday so will be a lazy weekend here with the boys. Have a lovely weekend all x

Diege · 26/05/2007 14:17

Hi everyone on this rainy saturday! Glad you're feeling brighter CHACHA - always good to get out and about . Hairdressers and children can be streasful can't they! I took dds 1&2 on wednesday, so just have to try and get L a trim this afternoon. Oh and while I remember the book is something I've been working (with others) based on my research for the last 3 years on risk and pregnancy. The book itself is called 'Risk and the Everyday' is is published by Ashgate. Iy's aimed at a post-grad/academic market (hence only published in hardback for libraries and the like)but I will have several copies if anyone would like a free one? . There's my stuff on pregnancy, talking to women about their perceptions and experineces of antenatal testing, and then stuff on youth and drugs, cosmetic surgery, risk and aging, violent offenders...quite a collection, but all 'linked' by the fact that the risks experienced are 'everyday', occuring on a day to day basis, rather than exceptional (ie. extreme sports)... Well if you're still reading hope everyone had a great weekend. Apart from burthday tommorrow, I'm awaiting af, with fingers crossed!!! Odd to want it to appear - really strange!!

Diege · 26/05/2007 14:18

'has' a great weekend - urghh what horrible typing!!

twinkle1 · 27/05/2007 18:33

Hi all,
weather here is miserable poor ds1 will be freezing!!!
Diege just let me know the dates??? can i be cheeky and ask for a copy of your book??? it could come in handy for work related stuff
Wonder if af will arrive??? would be sods law if it didnt!! when is the job interview??
All is well here josh is very into everything nothing is safe The hosue is a tip all the time cos he delights in tipping out toy baskets and then rolling around the floor in fits of giggles why is it he will not learn to pick it all up till he is at least 15??????
Well im off for a nice warm bath
twinkle

BrownieBells · 27/05/2007 18:49

Helloo!! Happy Birthday Diege !!!!

Yes - caould I also be a bit cheeky and ask for a copy of your book? (signed of course!!) All that sort of thing quite fascinates me, and I have a cousin who is doing Psychology at Uni, post grad, so it would probably be of interest to her too (as she is currently looking at the criminal element) Anyway - could I, please...?

It has been a bit miserable here today - hope it brightens up before tomorrow, as am off on another 6.5 mile walk!!! - Fool that I am!!

And for those that asked - no Brownie camp is not till the end of June....so a bit more time to plan yet! Also, am hoping to get my backside into gear and order some personalised Tee-Shirts which should arrive before camp! (I give off a very good impression of being organised!!)

My little mountain goat is still just that - climbing and into everything - he is such a joy! Am really looking forsard to holiday this year, as think it will be soo much fun!

Right, can smell dinner, which means I probably need to go and check my pots aren't burning!

Hello to everyone.......have a fab bank holiday.....
