Wow, lots of chat to catch up on but no time (where does it go??).

Noo is being charm personified (apart from at the moment as I can hear her crying upstairs - just woken up), Miniman is a dream (although grumpy today due to jabs). Getting things 'back on track' with DH, and enjoying pole dancing classes.

Anyhoo - must go and retrieve grumpy toddler..

GreedyGecko · 10/05/2007 22:51

Hiya, I've just spent loads of money today! Booked EuroDisney for August, so we've got something to look forward to. TBH I think it's going to be actually spending a bit of time with DP that I'm looking forward to the most...and Mickey Mouse of course. I'll be the biggest child in there!

HV came round today, she's been brill, is going to chase up homestart, beg surestart, and put my name down for a few groups that they run.

Oh, and blame the manky weather on me. We have a skip this week, trying to do the garden.

ChaCha · 11/05/2007 10:23

Well done GG That's the spirit!!
Think it's important to have those occassions that you can look fwd to with a family. I am hoping to arrange a camping weekend in Wales - have never been camping before, is second nature to DH so hopefully will be a good experience and something that the children will grow up enjoying. DH working/studying again this weekend so will be thinking of things to do yet again. Bored of park and shops. Think i'll check out local museum as suggested on a recent post. Grumble grumble.

Rodeo - Hope PTA night goes well - yummy samosas!! Do you get them made or bought frozen?

Diege - How is SW? No wonder i only lost 1lb, i hadn't been counting the oil intake Duh!! Lovely healthy salads plus olive oil - major points, rethinking meals again now.

Talk later x

Rodeo · 11/05/2007 14:24

Afternoon!
Just come back from taking the horses out in the lorry, we go 10 mins down the road, park up and have a good hour cantering round a lovely wooded area Though I read a MN thread the other day on tics, bleughhh! A woman found one on her shoulder and some other MNers put links up to some vet websites - my god those things are hideous !! Tried really hard not to let any branches brush on me!
Ooh holidays GG! I really need to book something soon too, I love having hols to look forward - makes me feel so cheery!
Chacha, We're having them made in a little takeaway type shop, I'm counting down the minutes until we pick them up My kids really enjoy camping And I do too.....if only they made little portable dishwashers, washing machines and tumble dryers!
Nova, good to hear you're all well - Did Noo avoid the chicken pox in the end? Jess has been in contact with 2 children with CP over the last couple of weeks and she's been struck down by a mystery high temperature since last night...hmm. Keep checking her body for spots but nothing as yet!
Twinkle, sorry about the disappointing bfn though Canada with MS might be horrid? Also at the swimming, how awful! You must be a saint!
Anyway I'm supposed to be doing posters for tonight - wish us luck! x

ChaCha · 11/05/2007 17:35

Twinkle - Fingers crossed for next month

Rodeo - I love samosas. There's a lady who lives nearby that makes fresh meat & veggie ones daily. In last month of pregnancy with DS2 i scoffed at least 5 one after the other am sure the points value for one of those is my daily intake. Oh well, looking fwd to yet another salad (minus oil) and quorn . Eat a samosa for me pls, he he!

Lovely afternoon here, DS1 playing happily with an old bottle of febreeze filled with water and a teaset bought in Woolies! DS2 fell asleep in playgym and then sat on sofa with me while i read freebie taster for a new book. Was a lovely, peaceful 20 minutes...ahhhh!

Time for the Boogie Beebies, DS's treat

ChaCha · 12/05/2007 06:54

Rodeo - Good morning (or afternoon if it's been a late one!) I came across this on ebay and thought of you immediately.

Rodeo

Diege · 12/05/2007 14:57

Hi everyone! Gosh hope the PTA eveibg went well RODEO!! Mmmm, samosas sound yum! Lol at you and your tick-avoidance strategies . Hi CHACH! you paint a very blissful picture of yoiur afternoon with the LOs, albeit for 20 minutes! Can you remember the time before children? Anyone remember being bored on Sundays, or getting through a whole Sunday Times? Awww TWINKLE, fingers crossed for next month, it's so tough the ttc lark, totally all-consuming I found..Well me and no.4 depend on job situation, though am now secretly hoping I don't get an interview (short-listing has still not been done while boss away overseas...what is the place like, do I want to work there!!!)so plans can commence!!!
Oh and girls could I ask you all a BIG favour if you're able to? To cut a VERY long story short, I've done something stupidish re: setting up a myspace page. Not really my thing at all (think it's something 'younger people' do? ) to pull , but well I wanted to post on someone's site who I knoew, then realised I might as well go the full hog and add my piccy etc and details, and now I've got my own page but no friends as such , though the one who is on there is the reason I started the whole mess in the first place, and I pressed the wrong button and now I look like a right stalker... . ANYWAYS...if you do have a myspace thingy could you possibly be my 'friend' on there??? Oh dear .
OK, better go and check the massive amount of pervy spam I have generated ...

Diege · 12/05/2007 14:58

Oh the address would be www.myspace.com-dawnwood

Diege · 12/05/2007 14:59

Oh dear should I have sent that through yahoo?

Rodeo · 12/05/2007 15:35

Afternoon,
just a quick one, just sent J up for nap she's not having it.....
Night went pretty well! Was nicely busy (huge relief) and I'm counting the cash on Monday - I'll let you know how we did Do have slight hangover today
Dawn - LOL at myspace, think I have one, dp set one up in my name so he could search for people - will look into it!
Chacha - ooh that does look nice! If it was half term week think I'd have contacted them! Thank you for thinking of me
Went on our Mile for Maude today, ashamed to admit was in 2 minds to go this morning and just to send sponsorship, but I did go and it was lovely There was about 8 of us I think, met lots of new faces (lots were off the March 06 post-natal actually)
Anyway will go, though I think J might be asleep now - all seems quiet.... Bye x

ChaCha · 12/05/2007 18:23

Rodeo Well done, sounds good.

Diege - LOL We are dinosaurs! I have set up my space with pics and updates of the boys but i haven't added any friends yet, will go check yours out now.
A friend sent me a link to something called 'Facebook' and it has networked with me lots of old friends - still don't really know much about it except for emails telling me that so and so has 'written on my wall'!

Wonder if our generation of kids will be ones that say things like 'Yeah my Mum was a MNer as well, always at the PC, big old fashioned keyboard thingy and lots of wires, always on there typing away. Which thread was your mum on....'

Dinner time x

twinkle1 · 13/05/2007 07:34

Diege · 13/05/2007 21:38

Oh the rain!!!! and I've left the rain cover at nursery!!! Pretty dullsville weekend, though enjoyed what I saw of the Eurovision song contest Lol CHACHA at us and our computers...yes I can imagine the stories when out los are grown up - 'mum was a real role model for us - always tapping away working hard at her comoputer' Glad the evening went well RODEO! Still thinking about those somosas, lol!Brilliant about the Mile for Maud - good on you! I had signed up but dh only got back from work walk last night, and transport would have been an issue.. Hope everyone is well, and here's to the return of summer for next week hopefully?

Diege · 13/05/2007 21:39

twinkle

GreedyGecko · 13/05/2007 23:11

Oooh! I've had an eventful night tonight! Had a table do a runner on me. Real chavvy, rough people. I knew straight away that they were going to do so because of how much they ordered. We tried to stop them, managed to get one girl to not leave, but then her bf came and dragged her out. One of the dopey moos was on her phone, and gave her address to the person she was speaking to, and one of the other guests remembered it, so hopefully the police will do something.

BrownieBells · 14/05/2007 21:15

Hello [waves]

GG - that people would leave without paying....I just assume everyone is as honest as me!?

Rodeo - glad your evening went well...I'm not keen on Samosas or anything spicy, but alcohol, dancing & a girly night out - now that I can handle!!

Twinkle - maybe next month?......

Really must get organised for this Brownie Camp next month......not sure I can get motivated, but, need to or else the little cherubs won't know what they are doing!?

Well - we went on another walk at the weekend....just under 8 miles, then had a few friends over for food in the evening - original plan was to have a bbq, but weather went agaisnt us, so we had pizza and pringles instead! and watched Euro-shite! I wanted to watch the Grease programme with the absolutely gorgeous Brian Friedman (ooh swoon fest!) but was outvoted - pah!? What a load of pants - I did vote...for Russia which was one of the slightly better entries I thought - but No - the weird Serbia entry won - big Y fronts that what I say!

Thomas is a little cutey at the moment - he makes my heart melt - that's what being a parent is all about hey!? He loves to sing Row Row the boat (cos they do it at nursery too) and they do rock the boat and something about if you see a crocodile, don't forget to scream (we are all singing different versions, but T doesn't seem to mind!).

Keep thinking about no. 2, but not sure I could face it at the moment - just starting to enjoy ds1!

Have got him the most fabulous curtains from Next here , and have just ordered the border, rug and fleece throw too! (just in case they discontinue it before I redo his bedroom!)

Right - off to pay Debenhams bill now !

Brownie

novadandypowder · 15/05/2007 13:22

Right, lets see if I can get through this before eother of them wakes up...

Brownie - wicked bedroom set, what a lucky boy. The brownie camp will be lots of fun i reckon.

GG - sorry to hear you're feeling low, I hope the AD's will offer some reprieve, as well as the chat on here.

Chacha (and GG) - there is a fairly positive article on circumsision in this months Junior mag, might be worth a read(?)

Diege - still of your weekend away. I tried to get a night out on saturday, but the first friend (the one who is getting divorced after less than a year) called off because she's dating a new man, and the back up friend called off because her toddler keeps waking at night and she's knackered.

Watched the euro-shite too, I love it!! We wanted Sweden to win - glam-rock tastic.

Rodeo - Looks like it wasn't CP in the end, but another virus that caused miniman to come out in blisters, which seemed to pass noo by but hit DH and me and her playmates family.

Found another mum who's not too far away who has a son and daughter 6weeks older than noo and miniman. She came to get a travel cot through Freecycle and has been over on a playdate since.

Noo is great, I'm constantly amazed by what she can do, and she makes me very proud when we're out. Miniman is certainly not going to be a neglected child because he is very forceful when it comes to getting attention! He's a very strong boy, very smiley, and, dare I say it, can go 6 hours at night without a feed, not bad for 8wks.

Sure I had other things to write but my mind has gone blank and Heat magazine calls.

novadandypowder · 15/05/2007 14:48

just remembered the other funny thing - noo now gets out of bed and crawls around her room in her sleeping bag ala maggie simpson. Last night she was crying because she was tired but wanted to play with her toys at the same time, so we could hear lots of banging around. She also takes her toys to bed sometimes.

Diege · 15/05/2007 22:22

NOVA at baby maggie. We have several photos of dds 1&2 in their bags over the years, lookign very cute as they drag themselves along! Bad luck on being stood up last weekend - think I would have been a bit if it had been me, esp with friend who has new man! Guess we've all been there though, putting men ahead of girlfriends! (when I was about 14 though!).
TWINKLE: will check when dds hair appointments are for (either next wed or one after) and get back to you with date. Can't wait! .
Right, bed for me.

ChaCha · 16/05/2007 00:20

Hello girls,

Brownie, lovely stuff you've chosen there, really like it! T will be thrilled.

GG - Hope you're things have been returned/people caught - how awful! How are you and the boys anyway? DP? Work? Hope that everything is alright

Nova - It's lovely to hear about the children, I know exactly how you feel about them Since bottle feeding DS2 he also sleeps anything between 5 and 6 hours. I have failed miserably though at letting him sleep in either his basket or cot, he is also in bed with me as was DS1 - I said i wouldn't do it this time round but it just sorted happened as a result of my not wanting to get up in the night

Finally got off my backside and made the effort to socialise a bit more recently so having 2 mums, 3 kids and a new neighbour over for coffee tomorrow morning. Left to own devices am quite happy and content with shelves full of literature and a PC, don't think DS's will thank me for it when there's no playmates in and out.

Will post some new piccies. x
[where is Londoner?]

novadandypowder · 16/05/2007 09:41

Chacha - Miniman starts off in his basket but always ends up next to me on the bed. I find he sleeps much better there, although I did accidently wake him up this morning. He'd slept from 11 - 4.30 and he was breathing so lightly you couldn't see his chest move, so I got scared and put my hand on him to make sure he was still alive. I thought I'd be a bit more relaxed with the second one, but I still check him a million times a day.

Rodeo · 16/05/2007 10:54

Morning!
Hi Nova! Good to hear from you - LOL at Maggie, how sweet That is good sleeping from little man! And your's too Chacha - makes loads of difference to your daily outlook And nothing wrong with co-sleeping IMO, did it with all of mine but none of them get in to bed with us now (unless I'm demanding a cuddle in the morning!) Good luck with your new friends!
Brownie, nice bedroom stuff None of mine have had the luxury of matching bedroom sets! Joe currently has my old Mr Man duvet cover I had when I was little - it's because he likes it though! I'm with you on the Grease programme - love it! Brian does make for a more pleasurable watch too
Jess had a cute moment too this morning - she was taking a real effort to straighten out a dried wetwipe she found and when it was flat she placed Joe's Woody from Toy Story on it and wrapped him up in it like a blanket - when she caught me watching her she exclaimed 'Baby!' Aww
Diege, GG, Twinkle, hope you're all well, enjoying the rain?! It's been throwing it down here!
Off for some breakfast...Bye x

novadandypowder · 16/05/2007 14:32

I agree about Brian from Grease is the Word - yummy

Rodeo - noo has a very caring side too, she'll give miniman his dummy if he's crying, and the other day she covered him in a muslin when he was on the floor, offered him her snuggle rug and patted him on the back. I had a friend round yesterday and she put her daughter on the play gym and noo covered her in the muslin and placed her snuggle rug on her - so sweet! Kind of makes up for the times she tries to prise miniman off my lap .

My friend who was round yesterday made some comment about the fact I give noo follow-on milk (she has one bottle of it before bed), and the more I think about it the more I realise she was saying noo was fat . I know she's a chunky toddler but she's always been big, and I wouldn't consider her fat by any means
