GG - poor Sean, it's so horrible to see your child in pain isn't it? Good luck on the potty training, no tips myself I'm afraid as I'm planning on waiting until she's closer to 2, but I have got a couple of potties in the house so she's used to having them around. She's such a creature of habit she gets really freaked out by new things, so thought I'd de-sensitize (sp?) her now.

What Feetheart said made so much sense re: the AD's - well put FH .

Noo is crazy about belly buttons at the mo, it's very funny.

I've got the opposite Diege - DH has just sprung on me that he's going away for a company weekend on 18th. He always moans about how much work they do, but he just does that to cover up the activities and large amount of drinking that also happens at these things . Am hoping my dads partner will come up and assist over the weekend - will your DH be home alone with your dd's??

Am signed up for the studio instructor course - doing it in a two week intensive starting in october. Nearly came to blows with DH about it as he wasn't being very supportive and was maoning that it meant he wouldn't see me ( ffs!!!!), but I'm determined to do it!

Diege · 03/05/2007 21:28

Good on you for signing up for the course NOVA - hold your ground girl!! It's a great qualification to have - are you planning on teaching? (how about antenatal/postnatal pole dancing? seriously!! Would have loved something like that to get back into shape?).
Yep, looking forward to weekend . DH is home alone with all 3, but hey I do it when he's a away (in fact it's his go the weekend after!)so we just get on with it. Only major downside is no respite for the early start...and dd2 has started to wake again in night...oh I am sooo looking forward to my sleeps...

Rodeo · 04/05/2007 14:20

Hello all,
Have a great weekend Diege! Sure h will cope admirally, he seemed the coping sort in Stratford! Congratulations to your sister! That has gone so quickly! We were out with our Labour candidate BTW! She lost out yesterday unfortunately, boooo! And it's a real shame too as she does loads for our community, especially for children and teenagers, ah well maybe net time!
Hi Nova, good luck with your course I did a NVQ in Horsecare when Joe was a baby and I really enjoyed it, not being a mummy for a few hours a week is bliss!
GG - Poor Sean I'm sorry if you've explained before but what is wrong? Hope it get's sorted soon Hope your ADs start taking effect soon too, Feety's right, you wouldn't hold off taking AB's or painkillers. My friend's DH has just started taking them and my friend is on them, they were saying the first 3 weeks can be quite tough, waiting for them to settle, but it's quite normal, so be prepared
Well it was my birthday yesterday! 29 so had my hair done, got some nice bits and bobs, and some money and vouchers, trying desperately not to let it slip into grocery funds!
Speak later x

Hello!!!
Happy belated birthday Rodeo, hope you had a great day, its your big one next year

We've had DH dad and wife up for the day today, it was nice we had a walk to the local pub and made the most of the sunshine( much to their disgust!!) but it was lovely and the kids enjoyed all the attention!!

I cant type very well tonight as have had nearly a bottle of wine and can't really see the screen so apologies!!

Have changed my name temporaily from L&Smum, its an obsesion I have with him i am afraid, maybe it will pass, who knows .....xxxx

Diege · 07/05/2007 22:08

Hi everyone!! Yes, happy birthday RODEO!!Sounds like you had a good time - yes, make sure there's no 'absorbsion' into the nursey bills, lol, know what that's like!! Bad luck for your candidate ..was it the curse of the LibDems? .
Hi L&SMUM, aka MRSJAMESMARTIN I have a similar obsession, far too embarrassing to reveal....your wine sounded nice! Hopefully no hangover!!
Had great time in York, though annoyingly left a bag of purchases in cafe...went back next day as staff said it had been handed in, but (after much whispering in back room) seems they can't find the bag ..Great sleeps though! Went to see new niece today, very sweet, and soo tiny!! Libby looked like a lumbering giant next to her .
Hope everyone had a good few days! Work tomorrow

Diege · 07/05/2007 22:10

'nursey bills'??? ; meant 'grocery', but obviously outstanding nursery bill on my mind!

ChaCha · 07/05/2007 22:22

Hello girls,

A very belated 'Happy Birthday' to you Rodeo! Hello Mrs JM - I like the name change. Why the disgust from IL's - sounds like you all had fun. Diege - Am sure you had a fantastic weekend, bet you were missed terribly!

Updates anyone? New month and all...

Our news: DS2 is 3 months old this week, doing well. Have given up on b/f, top ups just kept turning into whole feeds and TBH bottle feeding is just easier for me this time round.
Have started WW too but have only lost a 1lb on my first week - fingers crossed that i reach my target weight this time. Not much else to write home about, DS1 now 17 months, everything is 'yeah' and 'no' and 'who is it' and favourite trick at the moment is to spin around (with arm in air) until he gets so dizzy that he falls in hysterics. 'High chair definitely being put away for DS2 since i found him lying on the floor whimpering and giggling at the same time having Hoodinied his way out of strap and made a jump to floor!!
Do you want to sleep now?' is answered with a snoring sound (imitating DH) and a hand under cheek - i love this age, i love being able to do stuff with him especially holding his hand and walking along the streets - love watching his little steps and his excitement at various vehicles and people etc.. Anyhooo, there's our update, hoping to see more posts asap. Talk soon x

p.s. Did anyone watch the Hidden Lives programme tonight. ROFL

ChaCha · 07/05/2007 22:24

X - posts Diege - Just shows how long it takes me to write a post at times.
at shopping bag - oh well, at least you had a good weekend

Rodeo · 08/05/2007 09:38

Morning!
Glad you had lovely weekend Diege! a lost/stolen shopping bag, how crap! Does your new niece look like any of yours? How are all of yours BTW? Did they enjoy their weekend with just dad? And no, not LDs, curse of the Tories I'm afraid
Chacha, lovely update What a monkey getting out of his highchair and can't believe Y is 3 months! Good luck on WW!
We had a nice weekend, went for a long walk on Sunday after watching the end of Badminton, unfortunately I got done out of my sunday dinner, dp and kids voted in favour of a BBQ (I'm not a big fan!). Yesterday we went to my mum's for dinner and I took Bella and Joe to watch Spirit of the Horse (An equestrian theatre thing in a big tent!) last night which was brill! The mongolian stunt riders were amazing, we were all watching like this - !
Well little update from us - Jess is 19 months on Weds, has 6 teeth on top and still only 2 on the bottom! She loves dressing up - She's sporting a Russell Brand hairdo this morning (I have to tame it every morning!) and is wearing Bella's swimming costume. Found her with Joe's Superman pants on over her vest yesterday and she was climbing on the arm of the sofa to crash face first into the cushions! Her speech is ok, still mostly babble, but can usually get her point across! She's still obsessed with the cat, everytime she sees he it's like the first time! Having one nap now, and maybe a short sneaky one if she's in the carseat or pushchair. She's a really good little eater, and is maybe a little chubbier than Bella and Joe were at this age!
Anyway, must get on have, stacks to do after the weekend! Speak later x

Hi everyone!

Diege - your weekend sounds lovely!, this is something I've been discussing with DP as one of my best friend is moving back to madrid next month and I'd love a couple of nights break. Not sure he could handle it though, this weekend he asked me where S's vest are kept when he was chnging her

Rodeo - Belated happy birthday , I know what you mean about birthday money/vouchers being used for essentials. I hope you treated yourself!

Chacha - lovely update, how are they both getting along? Your earlier post really struck a chord. DS is generally very afectionate and loving with DD, he tries to 'share' his food and bottle, but can sometimes be very aggressive. He has a habit of throwing toys at DD which DP insists is him 'trying to share' but sometimes he does it so violently that I get really angry. I'm personally looking forward to when she's big enough to fight back, lol.

Update for us - DS is always on the move, hates his puschair and rarely goes in it(which makes any trip out a very long, but fun, adventure). He also loves spinning, and forward rolls. His recognisable words are 'gogi' (DD ), 'there' (usually pointing out of the window, which means it's time for a trip to the park!) 'do dat' or 'don't do dat'. Our favourite is 'weeers daddy' followed by 'daddy urk' which is so funny, even if DP goes to the shops he assumes he's 'at work'. He has his own jargon language and will repeat the exact same nonsense many times whilst laughing hysterically .He is facsinated by how anything works, terrified of the hoover (what a good exuse for lazy housework!lol) and loves to get messy, be it mud, food or paint. He is so adorable and I treasure every moment, and can't believe how fast my baby become a little boy.
DD is now 5 months and extremely chatty, much more than DS was, but on the flipside is far less active. She can roll both ways, but makes no attempts to sit up or push up to standing etc. She is an absolute creature of habit and favours routine, whch is something we never strictly had with DS. She loves to be close to us and adores watching her brother play, she is happy to sit and do so and laughs at him, especially when he tantrums .

Bit of an epic there! sorry!
Hi to everyone else. Beksmum, hope you are okay!

Rodeo · 08/05/2007 17:08

Hi Bob!
Awww at your updates (BTW - less active is definitely not a downside LOL!) Ah, it was around this time last year me and Bella went out to Madrid, t'was lovely. Friend and her family are still there so fingers crossed she doesn't move as we're hoping for a trip over later in the year!
I've been to a local soft play this afternoon with a few friends - why do those places have to play the most irritating CDs?! I now can't stop singing the Balamory theme tune and some tune about the Starhill Ponies! Star-hilll po-nies, nanana lalalaaa....Grrrr! Piglit enjoyed herself anyway, though she did manage to pour orange all over herself so was top half naked for most of the time, very classy look - nappy poking out of the top of jeans!

OP posts:
babyonboard · 08/05/2007 17:26

Rodeo you make me laugh, hehe.
Those tunes are sooo annoying and they inexplicably get stuck in your head for ages!?
Although, DD has started playing with some of DS's old toys and the tunes that once were really irritating now make me all nostalgic for when he was so tiny, so I quite like them, heheee.
What you posted just reminded me of a funny incident last weekend. We met some friends in Greenwich and we were having lunch in a pub garden. DS was pottering around and playing with a little girl when his trousers fell down. The elastic had somehow snapped in them so they just wouldn't stay up, and DP ended up taking of his belt, threading it through three times and fastening it. He looked pretty cool in the end, lol, a bit 'skater boy'.

GreedyGecko · 08/05/2007 20:15

Good luck ChaCha with WW. Good to hear all the updates.

Rodeo, Happy belated birthday. I had a similar thing with songs going round my head. Some childrem at one of my tables last night were singing 'high-low-jacka-low...', so that was stuck in mky head for the rest oif the night.

Not sure what to put in our update. Sean is 18mths today. He's a little demolition machine, remember the nursery rhyme about a little girl with a curl in the middle of her forehead (or something like that)? Went "When she was good, she was very very good, and when she was bad, she was horrid"? Well that's Sean. He's very good at pushing my buttons, he knows exactly what winds me up, how to do it & when to do it. He'll be good as gold as long as DP/my parents are there or while we're at a group, but as soon as I'm on my own he's a different child. He says 'woof-woof' when he sees a dog. Doesn't really say any ohter words since the last udate. Erm, not really sure what else. I guess the updates are supposed to be upbeat, so sorry mine isn't, can't really see anything else atm.

Rodeo, Sean needs the circumcision because he has a tight foreskin. There's almost no hole at all, so he balloons massively when he wees.

Still not feeling any side effects from the ADs, I rememebr DP was feeling really ill by this point.

Diege, grrr at your 'lost' bag, but good to hear you had a good weekend away.

Rodeo · 08/05/2007 21:01

GG, sweetheart You sound really sad. Just remember we are here (albeit on the end of a cable) Hope your ADs start taking effect soon, I'm sure they well and you'll start to feel the world of difference. Your job's not making you too tired is it? It's so much harder to cope when your tired, I used to be sooo crabby the day after a busy night at work. Any chance of any time without the boys in the day? Remember that most of us get to the end of our tether most days, especially me, sometimes I'd happily throttle them all.... Sorry for the blathering, just concerned for a friend chin up babe, speak soon x

OP posts:
ChaCha · 08/05/2007 23:11

Was just thinking the same GG. Chin up, your chirpy posts always make ME feel better! [HUG] Smiling at Sean and 'woof woof', i just think it's amazing how every child develops in his/her own little way, DS1 is only just learning 'dog' and 'lion' no sounds as of yet except the odd screechy outbreak for lion. Hope the little guy is feeling okay. It is part of our faith to circumsize so something i'll be thinking about in the near future, can't imagine it though, makes me feel all squeamish and teary eyed. A subject of controversy on MN might i add!

BoB & Rodeo - Really enjoyed reading your updates too, did so while LOL most of the time.

Am wondering how Londoner, Beks, Brownie, Nova and others are.....Hope all is okay.

Will go before my post turns into the usual saga xx

GreedyGecko · 09/05/2007 09:46

Rodeo/ChaCha, thank you. Makes me reading your posts. Also remembered he also does 'raaaaar' when he sees a lion and has just started doing 'moooo'! You're right Rodeo about needing a bit of time to myself during the day. Unfortunately my mums kind of 'old school' so doesn't believe in palming children off to someone else to look after, so will only take the boys at her own convenience, and if I'm completely honest has only started showing an interest in Sean the past few months. The couple of day nurseries near me only take children for their specified hours, so I would have to drop him at times they state which aren't good for me. I've been on the homestart waiting list for about 18mths now, but because I'm out of the surestart area I get bumped to the bottom of the list as soon as someone from a council estate needs help. I feel crap for moaning because hey, I've only got the one to deal with, so why can't I just get on with it? But like I say, when he's good, he's fantastic, he has the filthiest laugh going, loves his belly being tickled, his favourite nursery rhyme is 'row row your boat'. He loves to help me put the washing in the machine.

Anyway, thanks again Rodeo & ChaCha for making me smile. I was talking to someone last night about having friends I've never met.

Diege · 09/05/2007 13:50

Hello! Great to hear everyone's news and updates, and hugs to you GG ..it's soo tough this baby thing, and it sounds like you're doing absolutely fine. Like RODEO has said, it gets to us all and you have such a lovely little boy there! BOB: I can strongly recommend a weekend 'off' - my advice would be to get dh used to it as soon as possible - don't know where baby clothes are?? Pah!! I used to say to dh that he wouldn't get away with that degree of incompetence at work, so why play stupid at home? One of my personal bugbears that, so sorry for the rant! (and if in doubt, copious lists are a good start!!!). CHACHA - your los sound delightful!Good luck with the WW - 1b a week sounds pretty healthy actually, slow and steady is the way to go! I'm back on SW too, so maybe we can support each other and 'compare notes'? . RODEO: LOL at image of Jess at playbarn, naooy showing, builder-style! My stuck in the head tune is (sadly) Joseph musical stuff from sat night show ..better than 'Scooch' I suppose, although now I've mentioned it... 'we're flying...'...Getting geared up for our Eurovision party here! .
Well, L's progress report.. Very happy and healthy, with 9 teeth now. Very determined to get her own way, lots of temoer tantrums (just as dd2 seems to finally have outgrown her's), says a beautifl 'Helloooo' but few other words; lots of hissing, rumbling and squeals, bit like a pressure cooker about to 'go' . She's moved up to toddler room at nursery, which she loves, and is as brave as a lion in parks where she heads straight for the tallest slide much to her sisters' amusement!
Well, coffee time before afternoon rush starts! Dentists for all 3, then cafe, then home, bed, Apprentice!
Love to all

Hi girls, I am reading just not posting at the moment, not sure why really just got nothing really to say.

GG, text me your no again please or call me on a night you're in and I'll call you back and we can catch up, no real news for your dp that is of any use, but we could at least compare notes on the AD's if it would help. I know exactly where you're coming from!!!

Love to all Beks

twinkle1 · 09/05/2007 14:51

Advice please
is there a chance i might be pg or am i just been daft still getting a bfn on test but no af and lots of cramping and im nearly 2 days late????
twinkle

Diege · 09/05/2007 16:54

Hi TWINKLE!! well, if it's any use I didn't get a bfn with Libby until 6 days late. Tested 4 days after af was due, and bfn? So maybe that's the case with you? Very exciting stuff - you will let us know? Oh and can I be nosey and ask what tests you're using? Have never got a bfn with Predictor (when pregnant), and the Clear Blue ones need high levels of Hcg to get a postive so I'm told!
BEKS: Hi! Just good to see you post - don't worry about having 'nothing' to say - doesn't stop me!

twinkle1 · 09/05/2007 20:59

Hi diege,
err two cheap ones from pound shop and one predictor one from boots. If no AF tommorow will test again, i have had really crammpy feelings for last two days?? so who knows. On a very positive note we heard from dannys dad's proffessor today that if by any chance we had another kid and collected stem cells he would inject them into fil cord and see what happens!!!!!!! How weird to hear today!!!! and AF late????? some things are supposed to be??????
twinkle

twinkle1 · 09/05/2007 21:24

By the way diege when r u trying for No4??? when r u free for a trip to the quays??
twinkle

BrownieBells · 09/05/2007 21:31

Hello All!
GG - hugs to you - like everyone else says - you know where we are if you need us...chin up - you are doing grand.
Beks - again, like Diege says, having nothingt o say doesn't stop the rest of us does it!?
Rodeo - so sorry to have missed your Birthday - Hapy Birthday

Bob - nice to hear from you again too

Chacha - hear is our update:

Thomas is about 17½ months old - has the healthiest appetite I have ever known! will eat pretty much anything! He has 4 teeth at the top (plus 2 top molars) and 4 on the bottom (plus 2 bottom molars) so I think, we just have the other 4 molars and the incisors to come through now? (but not really sure, and nor am I poking my fingers in there to see if anymore have come through!)
He loves being outside, in all weathers, he prefers eating the crayons to drawing with them!? Is obsessed with my hairdryer, and would have it plugge in permanently if we'd let him! He also loves throwing all of my hair bobbles and bands on the floor and down the back of the radiator! He hates not getting his own way, and has recently started "nipping" my skin when I say No - needless to say, this isn't going down too well with me! So I too can echo your sentiments GG about the child with the curl in the middle of their forrid! (when he's good he's an Angel, but whend he's not.......!!)

WEnt to my friends on Monday, her second dd is just over 2 weeks old now - and it was the first time Thomas had seen me hold a tiny baby - hav to say, don't think he was that keen, as he came straight over and sat on my lap when I had Caitlin! He didn't really want me, just knew that the baby wan't ours, and didn't really want to share his Mummy.....

My next weekend away is when I take the Brownies on Camp! Not sure that camping with 230+ other people really constitues a weekend away (specially when I am responsible for the 14 girls I am taking!), well not one of the relaxing kind anyway!!!!!

Diege - I would have been funimg about the lost shopping bag - but as others said, at least you had a nice break!

Right, off to bed with my book! There's bugger all on the telly at the moment and dh is watghing the football, which frankly bores the pants of me!!

oh and Twinkle fingers crossed for the bfp - don't forget to let us know......

Brownie

Rodeo · 10/05/2007 12:12

Morning!
Having a busy this week, our PTA has a Ladies Night tomorrow night, so I've been busy buying boxes of wine cakes and 100 samosas, booking stalls and trying to sell tickets! We're all getting a bit twitchy about numbers, fingers crossed it's not a flop otherwise we'll be very drunk and stuffed full of spare samosas! I wish you all lived closer!
Hi Brownie! Love your update! LOL at 'nipping'! Is that with teeth or fingers? Jess sank her teeth into my leg yesterday while watching the telly, think she did it quite absent-mindedly but it did make me shout. Oww!
Hi Diege, The Libster sounds alot like Jess, must be because of their mad elder siblings! And us not keeping a proper eye on them
Beks/GG, hugs to you both Brownie's right - nothing to say never stopped our boring drivel
Fingers crossed Twinkle, that's would be great news for your FIL
Hello Chacha, how are you and the boys? Beks and Brownie have checked in now - well done you - just Nova and Londoner now
Anyway better go and get dressed, have been mucking the horses out this morning so I'm in scruffs and a little bit whiffy, they won't appreciate that at Toddlers this afternoon (it's the posh one today - they have cafetieres!) Speak later x
