Just seen this thread again

Chuffed - congratulations and lovely names too, wow how does it feel going from 2 to 5 overnight? Can't wait to see some pics.

Georgie - hang on in there girl it will happen for you x

forcessweetheart - great to hear from you and well done with the weight loss.

I've been having a bit of a dip recently (thanks to those who posted on my other thread) the SPD/SI pain is really bad this time and that coupled with having a 3yo and 2yo to contend with, a DP who works long hours and no family support it hasn't been east. Feel a bit guilty as it's my last pregnancy and all. 26+4 today, have the exact same bump as with T just hop this one doesn't decide to stay put for as long as she did.

On the subject of T the girl is a law unto herself. Beautiful, loving, intelligent, spirited child until you tell her no then turns into a monster. Think she is a child genius as she drew a proper face the other day that looked like a face everything in the proper places as well. A didn't do this until she was past 3 and at nursery doesn't surprise me though T has to have everything A has and it is causing a lot of fights, in fact they fight continously it seems. A will be playing away with her dollies, T will come in like a bulldozer, A will hit her, T will hit back cue loads of screaming mostly from me!

Haven't even thought about potty training yet, A was a nightmare think she has a weak bladder and it took over a year for her to be completely dry. T knows all about it etc but ask her if she wants to sit on the potty she says NO! Think she is the type that you cannot make do anything unless she wants to and I think one day she will probably take off her nappy and potty train herself when SHE feels like it of course.

Two girls two completely different personalities, wonder what DD3 will bring.........................

Hi chuffed, someone spotted you'd had your triplets,so just wanted to say congratulations and well done! Hope you're all together at home soon. Quite a few folks sending you their best from the other thread.
Hugs and very best wishes*

Chuffed · 23/04/2008 04:57

Thanks everyone.

I just haven't had much time to get on here lately. The girls have come home now (yesterday) so it is all hands on deck.

A photo of each of them on my profile now.

Better get off and feed - great to hear all your news.

Take care

Gorgeous pics Chuffed How are dd and ds taking to their new sisters?

Hello everyone - I should be in bed but will come back and post at the weekend...

T x

Chuffed · 27/04/2008 04:29

dd is being awesome, very helpful and wanting to do cuddles etc. ds has been lovely and gentle with the babies and keeps coming up and saying 'hello darling' but has been a bit generally naughty so we are trying to remember to say well done on being so good when he has been instead of taking it for granted.

sweetkitty · 25/05/2008 06:43

hello just wanted to say congratulations to chuffed again how is it all going? Cannot believe you have went from 2 to 5 overnight how fab.

33 weeks here with just the one starting to feel big but getting excited about meeting my little girl, we had such a good birth with T am thinking we won't get the same again.

Hope everyone else and their toddlers are doing well x

Hi all no excuse for not posting other than being useless at managing 2 under 2 1/2! how on earth you lot with 3 or more do it I don't know!!
DS is wonderful - his skin has improved no end and even though the only fruit he can eat is peeled pear he seems to be thriving. He's developing an addiction to rice milk (full of sugar) since we discovered that the "hypoallergenic" formula he was on was part of the problem.
He loves his little brother to bits (to death -almost) but his big thing is anything to do with numbers and letters. I got an alphabet jigsaw recently and so everything he sees is "r" for rabbit or "d" for dominic. I'm so impressed but I hope that
this isn't to the detriment of the rest of his development (ihs dad is very logical
i know I was going to try to organise a get together and feel very bad at not posting but I'm sure everyone is also busy too [hopefulemoticon that I'm not the only disorganised person here!].

Wherethewildthingsare - hope your wedding was fab and that you're still in the throes of post wedding fluffiness

Sweetkitty - hope your SPD has eased and that your DD3 gives you an easy time

Georgie - Are you back in your house yet? (or is it an Estate and should we call you ma'am now ) hugs x

Forcessweetheart - glad your op went well (Fern, eat your heart out!) and hope DH hasn't been away too much for you

must go - DS2 bawling. - take care everyone else

Lyra xx to you and yours

ForcesSweetheart · 23/06/2008 00:46

Hiya Iris, I don't know how you cope with two! One's keeping me on my toes at the mo. As for you chuffed, I can only imagine how hectic your life must be! We're hoping to be in a position healthwise to start trying around christmas.
Sweetkitty, I hope you're doing OK and the SPD isn't getting you down too much - not long to go now. My best mate is only 12 weeks with her 2nd and already starting to suffer - taking round my pelvic support straps/belt thingy tomorrow. I'm just praying that carrying a lot less weight next time around will make the SPD more bearable than it was with Lola.
I'm now down 5 stone 2lb, which officially takes me out of the MORBIDLY obese category, and into just severely obese lol. Oh well, every little helps! I'm starting to exercise more now, only walking but it's a start.
Lola's still a joy most of the time, talking non-stop and totally mad about her books which I'm glad of. It's so funny listening to her on the baby monitor when I put her to bed, I can hear her trying to tell her teddies bedtime stories. It usually goes something like - "once upon a time, a little girl, golgilocks, free bears, eat a porridge, break a chair, oh no! naughty golgilocks". It just makes my heart melt. We're out of nappies completely now which I'm loving, only two accidents at night in the last coupla months and both were when she was loaded with the cold so to be expected.
Andy's been based at home since coming back from iraq in November, but in a week he's starting a 9 month course in Dorset so will only be home from fri night til sunday afternoon. That'll be fun! At least I had iraq as preparation for this, so in comparison this should be a doddle.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 23/06/2008 20:54

Hi everyone. Long time no post. Lovely to catch up on the news.

Chuffed - how are the girls? Are you getting any sleep at all or just walking round in a permanent daze?!

Kitty - please tell us the moment you drop. Am so excited for you. It's another girl right?

Forces - you go girl! Amazing news about the weight loss. Loved the 'gogilocks' story!

Iris - think you're doing pretty darn well with 2 under 2 1/2. Dom sounds great and at least he loves his bro. Apparantly I wanted to punch seven shades of sh7t out of my brother for the first 10 years .

Hello to everyone else. How's the world treating you all?

The build is proving to be challenging to say the least. Let's just say that all the drama's and crisis that you see on Grand Designs are true. Am hoping that I'll get pg a la Sarah Beeny as she's always sporting a damn bump on her progs . Completion for the build not til Feb 09 so loads of time to wait. But keep chanting 'it'll be worth it in the end'to try and keep sanity and anxiety!

DH and I are going to start TTC next month. it's been hugely frustrating waiting 4 months. Especially as EVERYONE seems to be pg at the moment including 2 close friends and my cousin. Sigh. Anyway, the last m/c really tore me up emotionally and I just buried all my feelings about it and shut down. I've only recently really cried about it. Feeling more positive and champing at the bit to get going again . Keep your fingers crossed for me and send buckets of baby dust my way please.

Libs potty trained now. Very opinionated little girl . But very good value for money. Best thing she does now is wag her finger in your face and say in a very stern voice, 'leave it'. Can't think where she's picked that up from .

Anyway, off to watch Mary Queen of Shops now.

Loads of love to you all. G xx

wherethewildthingsare · 09/07/2008 09:53

Hi all! Just wanted to say hello, haven't been on for ages and was just having a browse (I've got a day off and it's tipping down so I've dropped kids off and come home with a copy of OK and am brewing a large creamy coffee ) I am currently working on my master plan to work 4 days a week (sounds daft but I think it will make all the difference).

The wedding was fab thanks, if I could think of somewhere to put it, I'd post a pic (maybe my profile?). Total post-holiday blues now, put weight back on and had cracking viruses, what happened to the summer?!

Finn is good, such a funny little fella, have managed to get him in a big bed and am planning a week of dedicated potty training at the end of the month. He is very stubborn and counter suggestive, I can't wait...

Love to all, especially new babies, hope you are well Kitty, keep up the good work!

wherethewildthingsare · 09/07/2008 09:57

Ok have put a picture on my profile but not sure who will be able to see it. I think you might have to be my mate

sweetkitty · 22/07/2008 22:10

Hello ladies just popping by to announce the birth of Bethany Anna Grace, born on the 15th July, 8lbs 5ozs, another quick labour, 1h 35 minutes from "DP my waters have just gone" to baby in arms, another homebirth too.

Cannot believe I have 3DDs and Talia is a big sister. Talia herself is absolutely mad as a box of frogs. Honestly. She is nothing like A. She's going to be an utter tomboy, she's so smart and funny but say NO to her and run and hide. Force 10 tantrums. I have put her into nursery 3 mornings a week as with the SPD and the baby I needed a break really and felt she needed it. She loves it has settled really well, the way birthdays and the school year works here she won't go properly to her state funded place until April next year, also means she goes to school at 4 1/2 so will be one of the youngest in her year, don't think it will bother her as she already thinks she is 4 like her sister.

They are both loving little Bethany already I thought she would be jealous but they just adore her - wonder how long it will last?

Anyway thats enough from me hope you are all well, should really look in this thread more, can't believe it only seems like 5 mins we were talking about starting BFs and sleep with our newborns.

OP posts:

haven't been on for ages & just cooking dinner after putting the boys to bed so thought I'd see what was new CONGRATULATIONS Sweetkitty!!! I'd forgotten you were due (sorry) and so pleased you had another great birth. What a star you are! Have a lovely time with your gorgeous girls and hope you manage to get a bit of rest!!

Wherethewildthingsare - can't see your pics (so can I be your mate? ) how's married life suiting?

Georgie - good luck & lots of babydust to you

hope everyone else is well. We went to WOMAD at the weekend. Awesome but much too hot so we had to come home early (Dom went a bit mental in the heat & then conked out & I got a bit worried about sunstroke - he was fine though) His skin's still a bit pants & he scratches loads in the heat (his bed looks like he's been muching biscuits in the morning Not potty training yet as he's nowhere near ready but he starts pre-school in September 2 afternoons per week (yay freedom). DD is loving her course still but getting a bit hacked off that it's so long (she's home for 3 weeks in Aug and that's it until Xmas! - luckily it coincides with DH being away for 6 weeks so at least I'll have some company ) DS2 is a pudgy blond angel with no allergies so far (phew) but teething is hideous for him (he's just cutting No4) can't believe he's 9 months already!
Anyway - food calls, take care everyone !

ForcesSweetheart · 30/07/2008 21:49

Oh SK I'm so thrilled for you!!!! Well done girl! I'm SOOOOO broooooody!

All fairly quiet here. DH is away on a 9 month course in sunny Dorset so is only home 2 nights a week. Lola's a little madam with an answer for everything. Weight loss is plodding on, albeit very slowly now (only 5lb this month) and now a total of 5 stone 10lb lost - size 30/32 to 22 so far. Am now 6 months post-op, and the first 6 months tends to be the honeymoon period when you just lose pretty effortlessly, with it slowing down so much now I reckon I'm going to have to start putting some graft in to keep it going.

Hope all's well with the rest of you.
L xxx

Chuffed · 23/08/2008 23:57

Thought I'd check in it has been ages since I've been on mumsnet.

Congrats SK - so glad it all went well.

ds also thinks he is 4 and sometimes acts like it too. Not too many tantrums yet (touch wood) a bit like dd but dd was hideous at 3 so am expecting the worst next year. We have just gone through the winter tt just like with dd. All gone well and he has got it pretty quickly. Not even contemplating nights yet.

The girls are great although yes life is BUSY to say the least. I have a nanny that helps out 3 days a week and that is a life saver. We got a bit spoilt with the girls though as a month past their due date they were all sleeping through 8-8.

Awesome news for your weightloss FSH that is so awesome.
WWTA Glad the wedding was great. If you are miserable about your summer try having the worst winter for years and years - it is horrible.

Heaps of babydust to your GG...

wherethewildthingsare · 29/08/2008 11:47

Massive congrats Sweetkitty!

You cannot believe how much it rains here in S.Wales, probably constant for last month. However nice old lady put it into perspective for me - at least we're not at war and we have enough to eat!

Tried to put most of you guys on as my friends so you could see my pics.

Feeling a little broody myself..

lyra41 · 06/09/2008 10:46

Hi all

Sorry for the extremely long break from posting. No excuse really, but there is so much demand for the computer, I rarely get on.

Lovely to catch up on everyone's news.

Lisa - great news about your weight loss, good for you, hope it continues. How are you feeling, has the indigestion settled down? And Lola sounds just adorable, especially the Gogilocks story. Don't forget to let me know when you want your video monitor back. We do still use it, but it's yours for the asking.

Rach - Congratulations on your wedding, hope you had a fab time and you newly weds are enjoying married bliss. We have tried potty training on and off for a month or so, but A isn't really ready i don't think. He just doesn't really want to, that's the main problem. Most of his friends seem to be out of nappies now, but I'm just trying to take the long view and take things at his pace. Still using washables about half the time, so at least that cuts down on the cost.

Georgie - thinking of you in the midst of your building rubble, hope you're not too stressed. Libby sounds hilarious with her finger wagging, they really are good value atm aren't they. Alex keeps me smiling most of the time, apart from the odd day when "why" asked time after time after time drives me to distraction. He's very sweet natured and often says, "Mummy, I like you."
Will pray for you in your efforts ttc, and fingers and toes crossed too. Enjoy!

Sweet Kitty - Big congratulations on the birth of Bethany. So glad it all went so well. Look after yourself and try to get plenty of rest and early nights, keep your energy well stocked, I imagine 3 lo's is quite a challenge! It does make me feel broody too, but at nearly 44 I think no 4 is very unlikely, especially as dh is set against the idea. No 3 was a bit of a surprise to him tbh!

Chuffed - I can only imagine how busy you must be, even with the help of a nanny 3 days. The washing piles must be awesome. i seem to do nothing but wash for my family of 5, the teenagers make more than A, but lots of it I just fold back up and send it back with the clean washing, they tend to put it in the wash basket because it's less effort than putting it away. How is the weather with you at the moment? As you've probably heard, our summer has been wet wet wet, and the autumn seems to be starting that way too.

Iris - good to hear your news too. Your boys sound fab. Alex hasn't started any pre school yet, although I'm sure he'd love it. I'm just in no hurry to have time apart from him, and my mum has him for a few hours twice a week when she's well enough. I'm thinking January will be about the right time for him to start playgroup, and then it'll be school nursery in Sept next year. I get tons of help with him from my older 2, especially dd aged 13. They are currently building a hotel out of duplo and are very happy in their task! I'm glad your dd was around when your dp was away last month, a bit of adult company is essential I think, especially with 2 lo's to contend with. August is difficult too as all the groups and things dry up during the school hols. Womad sounded good, despite the heat. I'd like to try that some time. I suffer with my skin in the heat too, anti histamines help, have you tried that for Dom? So glad that his baby bro is free from allergies, it does make life easier. Sorry to hear about his teeting pain though, we found ibuprofen helped a lot with that. What course is your dd doing that demands so much time from her? I've never heard of Uni courses that only give 2 or 3 weeks off in the summer. Poor her!

My big news is that I've become a full time mum as of July and it's great so far. Ask me again in a year, but for now I'm loving just taking things at my own pace and not dashing out of the house at 10 to 8 in the morning 3 days a week like I used to. Dh is working freelance and earning enough for 2, so that's OK atm, as long as the work doesn't dry up for him. He's working about an hour and a half's drive away atm, in sunny Morcambe by the sea, so he stays away one night a week, so from that point of view it's better that I'm at home more too. As far as my career goes, that is just on hold for the moment, but I think it will all work out. i'm not thinking too far into the future and just enjoying the moment as much a possible. A and I have a good time together in the week. We go to a couple of toddler groups tog, go swimming with a friend and her lo, try to visit a gallery or museum one day a week or so and just make the most of our time together. Before we know it they'll be in compulsory full time schooling and our potential for fun times together will be much less.

Lots of love to anyone I've not mentioned. Hope you're all well and enjoying your lo's.

lyra41 · 25/09/2008 15:44

So, looks like I killed the thread then?..........

iris66 · 03/10/2008 21:57

Oh Lyra - as if!!!!!! we may be slow but this thread will never die

no time to post properly but hope everyone is well. We're fine - Dom's found a new passion: cooking. He's often found curled in a ball by the side of his brother's cot at night and loves his 2 afternoons of pre-school (so do I!)
DH still hasn't booked his vasectomy and I'm not quite sure what to think that means - or whether I want to go for a 4th ............. thoughts for another day perhaps.
Have to fly - child calls - love to all xxxx

lyra41 · 04/11/2008 16:20

Like I said Iris.....

Tickle · 17/11/2008 19:42

hello all - posts a bit thin on the ground lately, but well done Lyra and Iris

I went for a job interview today, and bought a pony!

The job is probably part time, but officey grown up stuff like I used to do, so I'm excited about it. Never dreamt that there would be a job on this small island that might need someone with good english! So keeping my fingers and toes crossed now. It's amazing how I pulled on tights and heels (same shoes I used to wear to the office pre-kids ) and felt like I was off to work - the uniform really made me a different person for a while!

Theo was home sick today from his CM - but not too sick to have a cuddle Otherwise everything is great with the kids - they are all thriving. We have moved up to the farm while we do it up, which is a bit of a battle - kind of camping downstairs while we make bedrooms upstairs, but it will be lovely one day...

hope you are all well and that the LOs and families are healthy and happy.

lots of love
Tickle

iris66 · 20/11/2008 21:15

Hi all just randomly logged on (so rare these days) whilst taking a break from making twiggy stars for the children to decorate for Xmas.

Dom loves anything crafty (like his mum)and is just lovely. He's very boistrous with his brother but also incredibly loving too and always apologises and kisses him better if he gets hurt (bless). His skin's still awful and we regularly go to see consultants at St Thomas'. Recent skin prick tests revealed wheat, egg and dust mite allergies on top of the dairy and sesame. Meal planning is a challenge to say the least! Still not potty trained here (he's just not been interested until very recently)but we're starting on monday.

Tickle - loads of luck for the job! what a different lifestyle that will give you! I can't imagine me going out to work again (I was working from home before having the boys and will eventually do so again) but do long for it sometimes as the change in tempo/scenery/people is so refreshing.

Lyra - how are you enjoying your stayathomemum time? I've only just got back to normal brain function so I'm enjoying myself more now. There seems a definite link with breastfeeding and my being a complete brainless wonder (anyone else had this?)My normality only returned when I got LO down to just an afternoon & evening feed DD is doing mental health nursing by the way (you asked why such a short holiday) They do a lot of placements in the first year as well as loads of uni lectures. Apparently its one of the longest courses. Good job she loves it - I'm everso proud

sweetkitty - hope life is still peachy with your 3 girls. I'm everso slightly nervous as i'll have 3 under 3 1/2 by next june - to get pg once by not being careful is unfortunate, to do it twice is clearly barmy I think I'm due in June but really haven't a clue (waiting to get an early scan appointment to confirm)What am I like eh!I do feel very

ForcesSweetheart - how are you doing with the weightloss? Your hard work after the op certainly seemed to be paying off last time you posted. Hope your DH hasn't had to be away too much too.

Georgie - are your building works still on time to be finished by Feb? You must be champing at the bit by now (know I would be)

Hope everyone else is well and not too immersed in Christmas shopping/stressing (going to be pretty low key here - economy drives RUs - good job the boys are young!)
take care x

lyra41 · 13/12/2008 09:20

Hi Tickle

Any news on the job? how many hours a week? Hope it goes well.

We are all feeling fairly festive here. Last night we took Alex to see Father Christmas at the local school Xmas fair. It was very sweet. He was totally overwhelmed and hid behind my coat most of the time, but did manage to answer Santa's questions : Have you been a good boy? and What do you want me to bring you for Christmas? Presents (!) A success all in all, and nice and low key. I'd been thinking of taking him to a dept. store to see FC, but the school fair grotto really hit the spot, and for a bargain price of £2 inc. present.

I feel like I've been a bit slack on the old Xmas shopping front. I need to have a stock take of what I've got so far so I know where I'm up to. We've got a Xmas market in the centre of Manchester, and I keep meaning to get it together to go, but something always seems to come up to prevent it. Next week, definitely!

Alex is having a "like a bike" as his main present. We borrowed a friend's for a few days to see how he'd get on with it, and he really liked it. There's something reassuringly traditional about a new bike for Xmas.

Dd (aged 13) is having tickets to see Wicked in London at the end of Jan, so I like that present as I'm included in it! Plus a weekend away with my favourite girl, what's not to like? Also various books, sweeties and smellies. I find thinking of things to fill stockings gets harder and harder as they get older. Any ideas anyone?

My ds (16) is having some kind of ipod and again, still wants a stocking, so all ideas for little fun gifts for 16 year old boys gratefully received! He still wants lego, which he'll make for Alex to play with, so that's something.

I'm still enjoying being a sahm and having time to bake mince pies etc. Alex is at playgroup 2 mornings, I morning for jobs and another to spend at the swimming pool and doing a class, trying to be vaguely healthy. I have become rather podgy in the last few months and I am determined to try to eat more healthily and exercise more in the new year. Me and a million others I know, but I never said I was original! Anyone else slimming in the New Year? It would be good to have a diet buddy.

Dh has got a new job in Blackpool, so that's good news as his last contract came to an end and he was looking for something new for about a month. I was beginning to think we'd have Xmas with him still looking. He seems to like the people there too, which is always a bonus. I'm doing a little bit of private speech therapy each week too, which I'm enjoying. A little boy with ASD in mainstream school and an adult with a very slight speech sound problem. It keeps my brain ticking over and the money's very welcome of course.

Well that's about it from me for today. Saturday is my morning of freedom so I'd better go and make the most of it. A swim, followed by a bit of shopping I think.

Hoping to hear from you soon! Merry Christmas!

Chuffed · 19/12/2008 05:27

Just checking in - no children tonight and dh and I are out for a night in town. Just waiting to get picked up.

All good here, I hope things are almost ready for Christmas and am loving this hot weather that is approaching.

Merry Christmas all!!!!!!! Will check in when I get a chance.
