Hi

Just dropping in as well to say hi and Happy Birthday to all the babies. I think Tara was well at the end of the line as she was 2 on Sunday.

She sounds so like Talia its untrue - she really thinks she is the same age as her big brother. And the speech is just amazing too.

Best of luck to all TTC and just to everyone overall!

Chuffed · 31/01/2008 03:36

at the holiday too - who knows when we'll get one!

All going well here, very low on iron but the babies are doing well. I have grown a lot in the last little while and am rapidly running out of things to wear. Am bigger now than I was at term with both dd and ds.
The consultant wants me to go for 10 more weeks which I think is a joke, all my bump is out the front and I would just simply topple over I think.

Child free at the moment they are with my mum until tomorrow. If you ask ds how old he is he says 3 then if you say no how old are you really he says 2 then 'but JJ's is 3' (that is what he calls her). He tries to do everything that she does and it always makes me smile to hear them singing along to the radio in the car (my station).

Hope everyone is well, and Theo is feeling better. Chat soon!

ForcesSweetheart · 03/02/2008 16:16

hi guys, just a quickie update. op went well, 10 days out now still sore etc but worth it, am down 19lb since I started the pre--op diet one week before the surgery (11lb on the pre-op, 8lb since op). mum here helping with lola til i can lift again.

Tickle · 03/02/2008 17:41

Glad it went well FS Take it easy, and don't pop your stitches!!

Tickle · 19/02/2008 22:59

Hi!

Very quiet round here... hope everyone's ok! We have just come back from a very last min half term hol to N Italy - we drove 14hrs thru the night on a whim, with the 4 kids - cos we heard that our buyers for the cottage in Cornwall have finally got their mortgage sorted!

Anyway, had 4 lovely days skiing - 1st time for all kids (Theo didn't try it though, but Clemmie at 4 on skis is the cutest thing in the world!) Big 2 loved it and were totally fearless.

Best thing was that it was SUNNY!

This week, we're having the whole floor dug up at our farm, then we lay underfloor heating and get going with making some bedrooms upstairs (I am DH's apprentice for all this stuff...)

Lots of love to all, thinking especially of ForcesSweetheart's recuperation, and the pregnant girlies

lyra41 · 23/02/2008 07:25

Mornin all

So good to catch up, feels like ages.

Forces sweetie

Good to hear your op went well. Must be all the praying!!! Every time I look at the video monitor, I say a quick one. Thanks again for posting it, we're loving watching Alex while he sleeps, and it comes in handy now he's turned into a total monkey, climbing out of his cot etc. He's also a little escape artist, running away and giggling (why did I join in those chase games as soon as he could run?!!...). My weight loss regime seems to be working too, about a stone and a half since New Year. Trying to be sensible, doing healthy eating and more exercise. I think stopping bf is key for me as it feels much easier now to lose it. Just don't get so hungry I guess. Alex seems to be coming to terms with "moo moo all gone" now. At last!!!

Georgie

good to hear from you too. Your house renovations sound fab. And holiday plans. Now dh has gone freelance, we're having a year of austerity (whoop de dee) while we suss out the cash flow situation. The first contract was short and didn't really go well, so watch this space. I'm hoping to do mainly mothering from August, as dh's hours will be such that we'll need someone home to keep the old homefires burning, plus, I really want to start spending time instead of money if you know what I mean. My mum's health isn't great, so she can't look after A at the moment, and although my ch minder's great, I just don't want to miss out on the fun of watching Alex grow up.

Sweetkitty

Good to hear about Talia, you boast away! I used to feel bashful about talking to other parents about my kids' achievements, but the other day a friend said to me, don't apologise, it's your job to be proud of them isn't it? I'd never thought of it like that before, but I think she's right.

Chuffed

Still just in awe of you with 3 babes up front. Wow. Look after yourself and keep soaking those feet!! you got anyone to paint your toenails? I'd be there in a shot given half a chance. Pedicures are just so pampering aren't they. Did myself a quickie last night, but could really do with the whole hog atm, they are more like hooves than tootsies currently!!

Hi Mumfun

good to hear from you and love to Tara.

Hi to Rach, Iris and anyone else I've forgotten. x

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 29/02/2008 11:02

We're moving today. Hooray! Rented house all ready. Building work starts in a month. All very frantic. least Moo at school and Libs in nursery today so not too stressful. Just staggered at amount of crap I seem to have stuffed in cupbaords over the years .

Building work starts end of March. Builder thinks it should only take 9 months so might even be back in for Christmas!

Anyway, better go as they need to pack up PC.

Hope everyone well and Lo are providing delight. Libs desperate to get potty trained so that's next on my agenda together with moving her into big girl bed.

Where does the time go?!?!?

G xx

Tickle · 05/03/2008 21:10

Wow Georgie - 9 months! You need to post some sketches on your profile so we can see the plans for the new wing!!

All ill here (except me - hurrah!) for the last week - today first day all DCs were back out of the house... but DH still ill.

We've been laying insulation under the floor in our farmhouse - time ticks away and the people who are supposed to sort the renewable energy heating system seem to have 'mislaid' the plans, so not sure how long that's going to take! But we hope to be installed (ie camping) by May/June.

We have decided to have an au pair boy this summer - he's a german lad of 22 who works in an after school club and has au paired for 4 children before - apparently he likes big families!

Love to all
xx

wherethewildthingsare · 07/03/2008 21:04

God, sorry! I haven't been on for ages and somehow have missed all the birthdays, happy birthday to all the babes. Guess what Finn got? Chicken pox! All well now, he's finally had his MMR (Mr Snot the rest of the time). Now I have to read back a couple of pages...

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 14/03/2008 16:10

Hi ladies. I need some support. I've had another miscarriage. Managed to get to 9 weeks this time. Am devastated. What a sh&tty sh&tty week this has been . I so desperately want another baby and I never dreamt that I'd go through this twice. Of course all I see now are pregnant ladies and small babies. Sigh. I really thought it would work this time. Had much more symptoms than last time. Hate my stupid body for crapping out on me.

Tickle · 14/03/2008 22:56

Oh Georgie - soooo sorry to have just seen this. How sad for you, when everything seemed to be going so well

It's so hard when you're getting to the point when you think it's safe... there doesn't seem to be a reason.

Take it easy sweetie {{hug}}

sweetkitty · 15/03/2008 15:39

oh Georgie - so so sorry to hear this, it's enough to have to go through it once. You rest up and take it easy on yourself.

OP posts:
iris66 · 18/03/2008 14:54

Oh Georgie I'm so sorry about your sad news Big (((hugs))) to you lovely.

This is the first time I've logged on in months (not intentionally ignoring everyone but it's taken me a while to get a grip of life with the two littlies and DH has been away loads)
sending lots of "hello" vibes out to you all - will have to pop back later with a proper update as DS2 has just woken up.

Chuffed · 20/03/2008 08:01

We have our triplets!!!
Born 19th March at around 12.30pm at 32w 3d.
Mischa Grace 1.75kg
Reese Sofia 1.67kg
Tasmin Jade 1.72kg

They are all doing really well, breathing on their own today and dh and I got some skin to skin cuddles which was lovely.

So sorry to hear your news Georgie.

Tickle · 25/03/2008 08:16

Hey Chuffed!! Just seen this Congratulations to you all - you must be over the moon! When can the girlies come home?

Tickle reminds herself to dig out those tots bots and wraps that she promised Chuffed months ago

And Georgie - really hope you are doing ok - I have been lurking a bit on the m/c thread to check up on you and you seem to be taking a good course of action getting things checked out. Sending hugs. x

Lyra are you around at all?? You work with autistic children, is that right? If I have remembered correctly, do you know anyone who deals with helping AS children through bereavement? See Onlyjokings thread if you log on

Love to all
x

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 25/03/2008 13:20

Chuffed - what bloody brilliant news. Am so so so pleased for you. And such fantastic names as well. Am sending you huge hugs and warmest wishes for all your little bundles of joy. Can't believe you managed to carry 3 of them for that long. There's always virtual baby sitting here if you need a break .

Thanks for all your hugs. I will succeed dag nammit!

AbbyMumsnet · 25/03/2008 14:51

Hello all - sorry to barge in, but if you haven't already done so, would you think about completing our sleep survey here? If you do you'll be entered into a lovely comp to win £1250 of rather special, children's furniture. Thanks ever so!

iris66 · 29/03/2008 06:53

Wow Chuffed!! fantastic news!! And that you held onto them so long - especially after having your op! Well done you! Hope you're all still doing well

I will get round to posting properly....... thought Dom had rubella last week but the Dr said no (apparently you don't get rubella anymore now everyone's vaccinated ) in all fairness it was on the back of a bad reaction to the colouring in a sausage (why do they have to put colouring in? - and why didn't I read the label properly) but he's ok now. Elliot's a little sweetheart - will post some piccies of them both - got to dash Dom trying to switch off PC grrrrr

wherethewildthingsare · 29/03/2008 09:45

So sorry to hear about your bad news Georgie, I hope you're feeling ok and taking care of yourself.

Chuffed - wow! Hope all is going well with you, I have a friend with triplets, they're now nearly 12, how does it feel to have 5!

Tickle · 29/03/2008 23:09

Hey Chuffed & WTWTA - have you seen the new 'Larger Families' section? Chuffed you definitely qualify

Georgie - hope you & your DH are feeling OK.

love to all

Chuffed · 05/04/2008 09:00

We are all doing well. Hopefully we'll have them home in about 2wks for school hols which would be great as then we wouldn't have to get anywhere.

Feels a bit surreal to have 5, can't quite get my head around it. Soooo busy though trying to spend time with dd and ds and then having a half day at the hospital with babies as well.

iris at what dr said, like everyone gets vaccinated

Have you worked out which colouring it is, dd had a terrible reaction to some colouring in a sweet on a plane, started drooling, tongue swelled up, lost the ability to talk. Lasted about 1/2hr, pretty freaky reaction.

Good luck with your investigations Georgie - hopefully they'll come up with some answers for you.

Are any of you feeling the 2yr old phase. ds is getting a bit big for his boots and now he has lots of language is like his sister in that he argues, negotiates his way around things or just simply says no and throws himself on the floor quite often then gets really angry when he gets physically moved to do what you asked. He is also into 'feelings' and comments on how he is feeling 'ds not happy'.

Will get back on when I get a chance but it isn't often at the moment. Take care all!

Tickle · 06/04/2008 22:57

Lovely to hear from you Chuffed!

Yes I think most of us recognise that 2yr old independent streak! ds is also playing with his language a lot - and the way he says things... his 'OH NOOOO!!' accompanied by aghast face really cracks me up

Took our 4 for a day out (ferry, museum, swimming pool, ferry home) today - lovely, but don't know who is more exhausted, us or the kids??

ForcesSweetheart · 07/04/2008 13:17

Georgie I'm so sorry to hear your news. My heart goes out to you. hugs

Chuffed, congratulations, you'll need to change your profile now as it still says you have 2 children! Hope we get to see some piccies soon.

Well things here are plodding along. I had my gastric bypass op on 24th January and I'm currently down 3st 8lb, Lost a LOT in the first month but now settled at approx a stone a month. Still get a bit tired from the huge decrease in calories I'm taking in, and occassionally struggle to keep food down, but all in all I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I've been able to cut my diabetes meds down from 5 pills a day to 2. Just got to wait now til the period of rapid loss comes to an end and we can start trying for another baby.

Lola's doing fine, although she can be a right little madam. We've had a lot of success with potty training, still have the odd accident (like the other day at a soft-play place where she stuck her hand down the back of her trousers and produced a huge handful of POO accompanied by screams and wails) but largely dry during the day now. Talking up a storm, I find myself longing for the days when she lay still in one place and made no sound! She'll repeat the same thing over and over ad inifitum until I say "yes, that's a dog/cat/sandwich/old-lady" (cue huge embarassment if the lady in question is only in her 40s). We had a guy from army housing round the other day doing a survey on the state of the quarter during which he tested the smoke alarms, when he pressed the button and it started to wail Lola ran into the hallway shouting "dinner ready". I was mortified!
Well I best go get her up from her nap, off to the local sports centre to try their "play-gym". Finding places to go during the holidays when toddlers isn't on is a nightmare!
