PinkTulips · 23/02/2007 11:29

it's been neverending BHM.... we were all sick over xmas and were just getting better when sarah started playschool and brought a whole host of new diseses home! and it feels like whenever he's not sick he's teething

he's very good about it all though and he's such a little bruiser that nothing stops him for long.

be warned about the remote..... dd has completly smashed one to pieces and the ntl one is falling apart now too...... they're a danger to the damn things!

BigHotMama · 23/02/2007 11:52

Ah bless him! Love that word 'bruiser'. How much does he weigh now? Jackson's 18lb8oz now and his wrists are getting lovely and chubby .
Thanx for tip on the remote, may get a dummy one for him then.
Hows Sarah getting on at Playgroup now?

PinkTulips · 23/02/2007 12:45

he's 10kgs... about 1 1/2 stone i think?

she's loving it... she had a really great day yesterday and started talking to them and everything. she loves it and it does her so much good to be playing with other kids and be out of the house for a few hours it's so nice to have some time to enjoy caleb as well

i'm so jealous at the thought of all you guys meeting up... i wanna be able to come!

BigHotMama · 23/02/2007 13:00

Oh thats great to hear Pink!
The meet up will probably never happen as we're all talk ha ha! God I sound negative dont I? We should make an effort really shoudlnt we? Where's Booby lately? She'd be good at arranging this?

katylou25 · 23/02/2007 16:06

Hi guys haven't posted for ages its been manic here - both boys have had chest infections, DH has buggered up his other knee playing football ... so another ligament op in the offing.

Anyway Jack is crawling! Started last week in the old commando action man stylee It's identical to how Harry started. He's in his element because he can get to all of Harry's toys which he has been eyeing up for months! His reflux is still bad tho and now hes crawling I turn my back for 2 mins and not only has he been sick on the floor hes crawled through it, wiped it everywhere with his hands and is covered from head to foot in it which is just delightful.

Its good to hear your dd is getting on well at pg PT Ds1 starts in september - hes 2 1/2 in July but no point starting before summer hols.

eenybeeny · 23/02/2007 17:47

I would LOVE to do a meet up I just dont know how to organise one. I nominate Booby too she seems more than capable of it!

Alex's cough is still really bad and I cant help but worry about it even though the Doctors said I just have to wait it out.

Pink I really feel for you you havent had it easy lately! I think Alex is about the same size as Caleb.

Katylou cant believe Jack is crawling!!!! I would LOVE Alex to crawl!

Sorry I wanted to write mroe but I have a very stinky nappy to change!

purpleturtle · 23/02/2007 17:53

I remember the days, Eeny, when I couldn't wait for dd to be on the move. My how times change! Elijah is rolling all over the place, unless he's sitting up, which he can now do for some time. I've brought the good old BabyDan playpen down and he gets put in his 'cage' for safekeeping.

I left him rolling round the floor yesterday, and when I came back from the kitchen he'd disappeared. Eventually I spotted him sitting happily in the cage, where dd had put him.

Think I have to go, as he's devouring a sheet of paper. Looks messy.

Trix11 · 23/02/2007 18:08

Hello Hello Hello

Hi everyone - I'm so sorry that I dropped off the thread for so long, Ive been without a computer for a while and then Ive been so busy with my little treasure. Where has the time gone I cant believe she is six months now, I remember so well this time last year and how we all counted down together to all our little treasures arrived.

I will print off the thread and catch up with how you are all doing (read it tonight when Caitlin's asleep)

Love Trix

dressedupnowheretogo · 23/02/2007 21:36

hello welcome back trix! sorry to hear lo's are ill everyone

well i took cj swimming on wednesday in a structured session and she did the whole under water breathing thing very scary but she loved it !!!!!

ive had to give up my job in sainsbury's it was too much too soon i think what with being self employed at the salon too my anxiety levels have really peaked so have gone back to just doing 2 days in salon but for the while im doing 1 and a half days

right ladies a meet up i nominate a theme park of some descirption either
alton towers or west midland safari park or drayton manor
or i'll brave you round at mine as i live just off the m1 maybe easter bank holiday sun/monday

dreamydowler · 24/02/2007 13:20

I would love a meet up Lets go for it. Easter Monday at drayton Mannor I say or Alton Towers the safari seems like we would spend more time in our own cars so not as good an Idea I think lets start a list of people who can make it Im going to put my name and all my brood on the top We have family in Birmingham so will be able to stay there too Im soo excited at the thought of finally meeting you all.

BigHotMama · 24/02/2007 13:45

Hi Trix and Katylou, nice to see you both back! Glad your both enjoying your little treasure, got any pics?

Fantastic about Jack crawling Katylou, Jackson does a bit of a shuffle on his belly and moves backwards then gets all frustrated ha.

Booby, I wont be able to do Easter weekend as its my birthday on easter Sunday and I reckon it will be hectic everywhere anyway with it being bank holiday too. Could we possibly look at another date please if no-one minds? Oh and I love Alton Towers , but am easy with whatever is best for everyone else.

I've just got over a major hangover, I went clubbing last night for the first time in years as dh stayed in with ds, felt very nervous before I got there and kept feeling like I wouldnt belong there now I'm a mum. How silly I know, anyway I had a great time and didnt come out until 3.30am then stayed at my sisters house and was sick all over her bedroom floor and on top of a pile of washing, it was like something out of the exorcist. I just cant handle my drink anymore

How is everyone doin?

NbgsYellowFeathers · 24/02/2007 13:58

Oooooo a meet up!
I sooo sooo want to meet up but it all depends on dh's work and because I dont drive so I'm relying on him to bring us.
Where is Drayton Manor? I've heard of it but not sure where it is.
I'll work on it

Trix nice to see you back.

Pinky Caleb is a big lad isnt he!

I was chatting to Melsy on Skype the other day and she put her webcam on her dd2. I couldnt believe how fast she manages to get around! Give it a week or so and she'll be crawling.
Its such a shock because ellis is such a big mummys boy and just wants to be held all day. If I put him on the floor he screams!

He's also not doing very well with solids. He's just clamping his mouth shut whenever I feed him off the spoon so I think it will have to be all BLW from now on.

But on a good note, his pox is clearing now so as soon as thats gone its hello ellis's bedroom and bye bye sleepless nights

katylou25 · 24/02/2007 14:34

A meet-up would be fab but I can't make easter weekend either - it's my bday on easter sat and we're going to inlaws caravan in devon for a few days.

LOL BHM think i'd be like that now too! Me and DH are of to Brighton for a weekend at the end of april (xmas pressie from my mum and dad and they providing babysitting too ) and haven't had a night out ogether in 18 months so could well end in a similar fashion!!

katylou25 · 24/02/2007 14:41

Have just added photo to my profile if you want a peek at my two cheeky monkeys!

BigHotMama · 24/02/2007 16:17

So your an Aries girl too Katylou! How old are you on your birthday? I'll be 31 !
I love Brighton, went there for my hen weekend few years ago and had a right scream. Hope the weather is ncie for you, it was scorching when we went in the September. Love your pic btw, your boys are beautiful.

Hi NBG, glad to hear Ellis' spots are clearing up hun.

I'm off to catch up n some zzzz's am falling asleep as I type

katylou25 · 24/02/2007 17:42

am going to be 28 - but soemdays feel about 18 and other days 50!!

lunavix · 24/02/2007 18:04

Hi everyone!

Dreamy - congrats!!!!

PT - sorry about ds He keeps getting poorly bless him.

YF - hope Ellis is feeling better. Like the buggy too.

Trix/katylou - fab to see you both back!

I've bought dd a bumbo today, and we're starting to wean her (6m today) she's having some carrot in a bit

(whinge alert) I'm feeling SO rubbish recently. I've really struggled to make friends where we live (we've lived here two years now) and the friends I do have I feel really left out of. There's 5 of us and we do various things, I see one more than the others. I've been saying for ages I want to do a gym class but all I've heard from the one I see the most is 'I can't leave x' (he's just coming up 4 months and 'I don't like going out in the evenings' and the other I see fairly frequently said sure we'd arrange to go sometime, but we never did. now I get a text today saying that the two of them are joining the gym tomorrow do I want to too, and I phoned back and apparently they've been going to classes for weeks but I've always been busy when they go! Which is rubbish. I just feel argh. Left out. I think having kids has really alienated me.

So off the whinging, I'd love a meet up I'll even help organise it!

eenybeeny · 24/02/2007 19:36

Luna I am sorry you are having problems with your friends! That is really annoying and trust me I can relate to you. And I would be fine with you organising the meet up, as long as someone does it! I know this is way in the future but what about August, this is after all the August thread! Although something sooner would be better.

I am already planning Alex's first birthday party!!!! Its going to be pirate themed, I got pirate invitations and am doing a pirate cake and everything. I am so excited!

Snowboo · 24/02/2007 20:27

Have also put some pics of ds's on my profile now. And have worked out (finally) how to resize!

Luna, i'm the same with friends. Its my big 3.0 in April and dh is organising a something, asked me for a list of friends and i came up with............2!! Wow, thats gonna pack the place out....

Hey ho nevermind.

As for the meet up, i'd love to come. If its somewhere like Alton Towers can i bringsomeone with me? Whether its dh or my friend....

eenybeeny · 25/02/2007 10:36

Snow of course you could bring someone!

Ok Alex has been eating purees for a while now. What's next?? All the food I can think of (besides purees) he could choke on. He doesnt have any teeth yet and I dotn think he knows how to chew.

eenybeeny · 25/02/2007 10:36

I've started a thread abotu that in weaning.

lunavix · 25/02/2007 13:28

Ive started blw yesterday and it stressed me a bit. I agree with the principles, but the practice.....

Kiki has been eyeing up my food and grabbing spoons off me for ages so I steamed some carrot and put it infront of her. No interest. I mashed up a banana and mixed it with some pear puree and stuck a spoon in it and she kept grabbing at the spoon so i kept loading it for her but it was mostly sliding off before she could get it in her mouth. Will be handy when the bumbo tray arrives as it was awkward with her sitting on my lap, and we were both coated in it by the end.

She grabbed a shreddie out my bowl this morning, I'm not overly worried about wheat as we don't have a family allergy of it, and even though it was well soggy she choked on it. Argh.

NbgsYellowFeathers · 25/02/2007 15:04

Hi Luna!
I started a thread on BLW. Ellis has made the decision for me. He will not be spoon fed at all. He's quite happy to feed himself though.
I've just given him bits of what we have been eating. So far he's had chicken, carrot, brocoli, banana, pear, duck, mango, sweet potato chips and today I gave him cheese.
He seems to have enjoyed it all so far. Not exactly eating alot but thats not really the point of BLW to start with.

Sad about your friends. I only really have one friend who I've known a while and she's living her single life on the coast and gone back to Uni. I probably see her once a year but when we do meet up its just like we saw each other the day before.
I miss that kind of friendship.

Eeny, my word! How organised are you with your invitations
I dont even know what I'll be doing tomorrow let alone in 6 months lol!

Katylou, your ds's are gorgeous!

I have decided today to stop being a big scaredy pants, bite the bullet and get my backside to a mum and toddler group.
DD loved the last one she went to before we moved and it wont be long before ellis can join in so I may as well go.
I am babbing my pants slightly at the thought of having to do all the social thing again!
Tomorrow I'm getting a sleep in
I let dh have one today so he is returning the favour. I cant wait.
How sad.

Wow Lockets!
Am soooo jealous of those of you with crawlers!
I can't believe it though. Just been reading our ante-natal thread and had a few tears in my eyes.
Now all of a sudden, they're crawling and before you know it they'll be graduating from uni!
