Oh my oh my ,sooo much to catch up on.

Im soo crap at coming in, I read all the posts ,think in my head replying to all and sundry and then forget who said wot and give up!!!!

Half term week and I have not stopped , been out almost every day , Ive been very brave and gone alone to nature parks , soft plays(actually I cheated that was with nursery mums), soft play again, AM I MAD,(this time a friend left me there alone , when she new what a state Ive been, doing these things) & the playground at a park and then we all got drenched in downpour !!! dd1 is however going through a strange needy developmental stage, shes asking all about blood , skin and bones and doesnt want to go upstairs in the dark , wants me to cuddle her non stop, and keeps crying at everything. shes always been very estoical , so this has thrown me a right curve ball .

Sounds like theres a lot of nasties around , grannycrackers what a scare that must have been , pooor poor little boy.Is he better now? Youll have to feed up yer girl!
Pink U have had such a nasty time of it, dd1 was ill her whole 1st yr , I was forever in the surgery with he having temp 39 , she did however get most of her teeth in that time , coincidence may be not. Amazing with the mama word, dd1 was also a fast talker, I think her 1st wrods were heloo & yum yum !! I still cant believe dd2 is doing milky sign, its soo bizarre seeing it !!! I keep getting her to do it as I cant believe it!must teach her some more.
Yellow, healing coming your way again for your finger. Hope ellis is fairing ok with the pox. Have u used any of the diff things suggested??
Micku5 , so glad talias doing better, what is it you do work wise?
eeny nice to see youve been able to come and chat with everyone , how are you doing in yourself?

well we didnt eat out for valentines on tues , we went out last night, and it was SH*TTTTO!! Wed been recommended to a well known scottish seafood restaurant in the next borough from us and soooo we went. Wellll what a stoopid comedy of errors that was. We had a not bad starter followed by waiting waiting and more waiting, the place was clearing out almost!. The manager came up to us and said would u like our desert , we said "err no wed like out main course 1st please" !! soo moments later our wonderful sharing platter of hot garlicky seafood arrived avec mud, grit and metal taste, sooooo it all had to go back , I was placated (or not) , by a bowl of soggy wet cold prawns and another on the house rose. Not only that but they also forgot all our side orders too.It all got ridic and in the end the manager didnt know whether to laugh or cry out of embarressement .Thankfully it all came off the bill and we had a very funny, half boozed up and cheap night out!!! Shame really as we never do seafood out like that as its alway saved for a treat. Oh well worse things in the world !!!

melsy · 18/02/2007 20:55

awwwwwwwwww snow hiya , corr what a bloody mare with dd2,id say complain to manager at the surgery , but havent u had a right to do wth her before? Well lets hope 48hrs of ant biotics and hell be on his way to mending, bless xxx

pucca · 18/02/2007 21:02

Hi everyone

Sorry i have not posted on here for sooooooo long, i have read bits and bats but there is so much i don't know how to start to reply about everything.

George is now 28 weeks, and is a right dennis the menace! don't know how others feel, but after having dd who stayed still while dressing/bathing/feeding/holding her ds is a shock to the system! i think i will be grey by the time he ends up walking!!! he can now get about and pretty fast by rolling, can get from one room to another almost in a continuous roll

Wanted to ask you all (as within 2 years i have totally forgotten!) is any of your LO's sitting up properly? George isn't yet, he will for a few seconds then rolls off sideways!

He also had a bout of not sleeping and hence he got his 2 bottom teeth at the same time! bless, and thankfully has gone back to sleeping 7pm to 8am (but dream feed at 11pm).

Anyway have been nosying at pics on profiles and all the babies i have seen off here are scrummy!

Snowboo · 18/02/2007 21:18

Hi Mels! Yeah i've had it with the surgery. Dh off for a few days this week so are going to look for a new dr. This really is the last straw with this lot.... How are you? Long time no hear!

Hi pucca! ANd yes i know exactly where you're coming from ds1 was a very good baby, very still, let me do nappies no problem. But Autin? Well, thats a different story altogether. he's obsessed with the kitchen bin, runs you over with his walker and has a look on him that spells trouble..

sarahlou1uk · 18/02/2007 21:27

Hi everyone. Sounds like everyones had something wrong with them.

In our house, I am currently trying to fight off a very nasty throat infection and a bout of conjunctivitis, Jack has a mild form of whooping cough (even though he's had all the injections! and Molly has now got a sticky eye and full of cold.

It was my dh's 40th birthday on Friday and I organised a meal out as a treat. Told him it was just us but actually there were 12 of us! Don't think it went down very well to start - I got a right look when he walked into the restaurant and saw that they'd decorated the table. Got less impressed later on that night as the waiters decided to make the WHOLE restaurant sing 'happy birthday' to him! If he could have crawled under the table he would have! Anyway, all forgotten after several large brandies!!!!! He says he'll get his own back in 5 years time when I'm 40!

melsy · 18/02/2007 21:36

puccca hi , funny u and snow are saying that about our 2nd lo's , dd2 is always trying to launch off the changing matt ,it makes changing a mare and a half. I have to do it on the chest as I cant lean over her on the floor, due to my back. dd1 also laid very still and let me do all manner of things to her, it is a big big shock ehhhh snowy !!!

I tell her no and mummy doesnt like it and dd1 says "shes only playing, say sorry", pmsl !!!

melsy · 18/02/2007 21:39

hey sarah, hows it going , nice piccys btw. They all seem to have got this sticky eye cold , weird huh. Hows your course going ?

Can I just ask , how does tonsillitis start?

Snowboo · 18/02/2007 21:47

Poor ds1 has had vomiting/cough/cold/earache/high temp/ulcers in mouth/conjunctivitis/loss of appetite and very weepy. Not sure what belongs to which group! (Spent the last week reciting all symptoms a million times...

melsy · 18/02/2007 21:55

poor boy snow, ohh hows these kids do suffer. Ice cream on the menu all week now!

NbgsYellowFeathers · 19/02/2007 09:27

Awww our poor babies! I dont actually think I have spoke to or know anyone that isnt ill!
Horrible horrible time.

I cant believe how many spots ellis has. M came off much lighter than he has. He's even got them between each of his toes and you cant see his bits theres that many spots!
Last night was bad too. He woke at 1am and I couldnt do anything to settle him so in the end dh took him downstairs. This morning he tells me that ellis didnt go back to sleep whle 3:30am!

Whoever says its good to get chicken pox out the way, it bloody isnt and if you know anyone whos child has it, stay millions of miles away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PinkTulips · 19/02/2007 09:48

oh poor ellis

can you give him that medised stuff to settle him?

NbgsYellowFeathers · 19/02/2007 11:51

We gave him it just before he went down at 9pm and then again when he woke at 1am. It just doesnt do anything for him at all.
I am slightly confused by the dosage though, because it says 2.5ml to 5ml for 3m-1yr but when you cmpare the amount of paracetamol in it to calpol, its the same and calpol says only 2.5ml.

Actually might start a thread on it

burstingbug · 19/02/2007 12:01

OK, I've been away from this thread a bit. Can anyone fill me in one whats gone on in a small bite sized chunk.
cheers

olivo · 19/02/2007 12:33

hello everyone - havent been around for a while; have been lurking but like others, have forgotten who has said what by the time i come to post! will my memory ever recover?

we are well -now! dd has had bronchitis nad was not a big fan of the antibiotics she was given but it is now clearing up. we've been away for a few days and are preparing for our holiday in two weeks- cant wait! dd is now sitting unaided and rolling around, but only back to front, and today crawled backwards for about a metre and a half! she is as gorgeous as ever of course!!

i am dreading going back to work in just six weeks but we have nursery sorted now and am going to stop bf next week as she'll be six months.
sorry to hear that so many LOs have been poorly, hope eveyone is on the mend now.
am going to make a concerted effort to keep up with this thread now......

BigHotMama · 19/02/2007 12:53

Wehey the threads all nice n busy again

Lets hope March will be a better month and our lo's will all be beaming again as there are some nasty bugs going round. Poor little Ellis NBG, how long do they take to clear up? And Snow, our doctors are a waste of space too, how annoying!

Hi Pucca, nice to see ya back! Jackson isnt sitting up unaided yet either but rolls around like a monkey..ends up with his head almost under the settee lol .

His chest infection is still with us and now he is full of nasty snot!

Big Hi to Melsy/Sarahlou/Olivo/BBug! Good to see your still around and not forgotten us ha ha!

PinkTulips · 19/02/2007 13:40

NbgsYellowFeathers · 19/02/2007 14:01

Snowboo · 19/02/2007 21:05

Now i've posted bet it goes quiet again....

Pink, hope you're ok sweetie. x

Snowboo · 19/02/2007 21:40

Ah see. Killed the bloody thread....

dreamydowler · 19/02/2007 22:39

Hi everyone sorry I havent been around for a while things have as always been manic in my house. DD age 3 has had chickenpox what a nightmare just hoping like hell that Sophie-jane doesnt get them. The other huge and shocking news is that my soon to be 17 year old daughter is pregnant. Its been a sressful emotional scary time for us all she is 8 weeks and of course we are all loving and supporting her. She is keeping the baby and her bf of two years is standing by her too. Does anyone know of any good teen mum sites? Is there anything on here specially for teen mums to be? Cant believe Im going to be a nana Baby is due early August so please everyone keep us in your thoughts and prayers over the next few weeks and months. Havent had chance to catch up with all your news but hope you are all well will be needing you all xxx

dreamydowler · 19/02/2007 22:45

did I say august? I mean october

NbgsYellowFeathers · 20/02/2007 08:41

Omg Dreamy!
Well congratulations and sending lots of well wishes to you all.
Gosh what a shock hey. I'm sure she'll do brilliantly with all your support. You have a loving family which is all she'll need to get her through.
Not entirely sure about teen sites but I think there are a few young mums here aged 18. You could start a thread for hern or better still, get her to join the ante-natal thread. You know yourself how much support comes from them. Plus she can always come here and gab to us bunch of freaks

Sympathy with the pox too. Dd has just got rid of hers and now ellis is covered big time. I really hope Sophie Jane doesnt get them.

Ellis had slept a bit better last night. I gave him the 5ml of medised around 9:30 and he slept till midnight, then was up around 3, then 5 where he was wide awake for a while so I gave him more medised and then back off just before 6 and is still asleep now. Only problem is that I've got to get dd to school in the next half hour!

olivo · 20/02/2007 08:53

wow dreamy, must have been a shock for you,but you'll be fab at supporting her and as yf says, get her to sign up to an ante natal thread on here- what would we all have done without each other?

i am waiting and watching for the pox as my nephew has them; hoping that, with us being away, it was long enough since we last saw him...two weeks and counting....

dd has started shuffling backwards and so nowhere is now safe. she seems to be sleeping better (or i'm hearing her less ) and has only been up once, for food, between 10.30 and 7.30. am dreading having to do a bottle at that time,; i'm going to stop bf next week sometime.

off to playgroup this morning; she really gets into it now and loves 'row row row your boat'!!
hope all the germs are leaving everyone.

burstingbug · 20/02/2007 09:04

Morning.
Joe is sleeping quiet well now falling asleep on me around 9.30pm ish, I'll take him up to his cot when I go to bed between 10 and 11, I'll bf him a bit more if he'll take it, then he goes in his cot til around 5.30 now I'll drag him out of his cot and bf lying down where we'll both fall asleep again . He has 2 ff bottles 3 days a week whilst I'm at work, other than that he's still bf. Onto solids twice a day, breakfast and evening meal. Just jars at the moment. I will make my own next month I guess.
Still no teeth yet. He can sit up unsupported for a while now and spin round on his front on the floor, no crawling yet. He's been rolling over since about 3months but now has it really sussed!
George is 2 tomorrow! can't believe it We had a big party for him, my niece and a friend who they both go to nursery with on Saturday. There was 20 something children, but I think it went well, and they all got loads of presents
We have no milk, bread or loo roll this morning and I have no money in the house or on my cards DH is at work and won't be back till 4.30 at the earliest, he's the only one with money on him not quiet sure what we're going to do. G's had milk but neither of us has had any breakfast
Need to make G's birthday cake today - mustn't forget!!!

Congrats Dreamy on your impending 'nanny hood'

Hope every one is getting over the colds, flu, bugs and pox thats been going around. We've escaped it all this time - perhaps I ought to go out of my front door more often!

BigHotMama · 20/02/2007 10:16

Congratulations Dreamy on becoming a nanny...wow that must be a shock but I bet you'll be a fantastic support for your daughter (as you are SuperMum ha ha!).

Jackson is into Twinkle Twinkle Little Star when I sing it and do the actions he gets sooo excited and startes to shake and tense up, his little eyes light up. Am trying incy wincy spider at the moment but he's not as impressed ha!

Last night I didnt even hear a murmer off ds bless, he was out for the count when I put him down at 8pm and didnt wake up until 7am, but I woke up scared he might have stopped breathing so rushed in to listen to him and he was still in the same position I put him in lol.

Hope the lo's are all getting better and Hi to everyone else x x
