New thread for all the regulars at the bar, and the not so regulars too.

I'm not that careful about cosleeping. Maybe I'm wrong but we're just pretty relaxed about it. She's in between us mostly. Sometimes between me and the cosleeping cot. I sort of clear a space and shift the pillows. I turn when I want. The duvet is on the lower part of her body. I did this with dd1 too and we never came to any harm. Dd2 mostly sleeps six + hours (nothing I've done, she's always done it) and she's fine. Sometimes she's in the cot of course which is nice because I can cuddle Dh but I think she sleeps a bitty longer in with us.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations I'll head out to boots in a bit and stock up! I'm not worried about the cold itself as such Fatty it's the lack of eating as he's only 9th centile anyway so hasn't got any fat stores to lose! He's had 6oz so far today Sad

Rra I've heard that about the soles of the feet it's so random but loads swear it works!

I'm sure he will be fine. But if you are worried there's nothing wrong with seeing your doctor even if its just to put your mind at ease. I said I'm not too worried about DS2 but if he doesn't start taking more over the next couple of days I will be taking him, just to rule out chest infection for him too.

We actually have blue sky and sunshine! Whoop whoop! Such a change from the horrible grey and rain. I've been for a huge walk with the dog and baby to blow some cobwebs away. Ds is definitely having massive sleep changes because he stayed awake for most of it, which is unheard of. The pram usually sends him straight off. It's like he's lost the ability to go in to a long, deep sleep.

We're off to meet one of my colleagues and her baby now. We share one part of our jobs and she had a baby about 3 months before me. We've not managed to meet yet so it will be lovely I'm sure. There will be cake, of course! I just hope Ds sleeps on the way there so that we avoid overtired grumpiness.

We're out the other end of the snots at last lily. We used saline spray. The drops were nowhere near as productive. We also had Vapur rub stuff. I gave him calpol a few times when he seemed hot or sounded a bit croaky as I had a sore throat and thought he might too.
I hope your Ds doesn't get a bad dose.

rrra, we cosleep using a sleepyhead. It's like a sort of cocoon for him. It feels a bit safer as I'm a very heavy sleeper and was petrified of squishing him. It fits in his crib too so we sometimes transfer him in there if dh wants to get in bed.
I cracked open the Christmas chocs a few weeks ago Blush

Thanks fatty, I'll see how he is in the morning and if I'm still not happy get him the docs. He took 4oz before but that's still only 10oz for the day so far! He's asleep again now, I've not been to boots yet but I'm not waking him when he clearly needs to fight off the germs I'll go when he wakes.

Weather is bright and crisp here too frolic, has been a day but had an almighty hail down pour a half hour ago, thankfully it's passed and is bright again now! Enjoy your cake with your colleague sounds lovely!

I'm jealous of everyone's Xmas chocs why do I not have any!

Sat in the car with 2 sleepy boys while dh does the weekly shop. He compressed his hours so is home every Tuesday. I'm texting him things to get. We're at lidl what shall I say? Mini stollen and...

Lily not sure if it's just a Scottish thing or all over the UK but we have a minor ailments service at the pharmacy. Under 16s, people with medical exemptions and over 60s etc
can get over the counter medicines for free. You just need to register. I got saline drops and calpol for ds2 and piriton for ds1 when he had a rash. Might be worth looking into.

Can't remember who said their niece wanted a real crow but if you do get one get me one too. I love crows. Ds2 name means raven.

Dh is asking questions got to go.

DS2 drank his first full bottle in two days! I think he's starting to feel better Grin
everything the minor ailment scheme is all over the UK. It's brilliant if you've no money and need calpol but don't want to take up docs time

DS has just puked up what looked like a whole feed. I've never known him be sick like this before. Am now really worried that he's poorly as he's also done loads of poos today - I thought it was just the formula playing with his system or something to do with yesterday's jabs. I feel a bit panicky... I'm never good with sick and OH is out at an awards thing so is drunk and useless. I don't need to worry too much though do I? Sorry for selfish post, just need a bit of reassurance I think...

FattySantaRobin · 08/12/2015 20:37

clstow he will be fine. Honest. He might be hungry sooner than you'd expect though. I wouldn't worry too much for now but if it keeps happening then get him seen in the morning.

Clstow my DS is a very sicky baby and quite regularly sicks up double handfuls or entire brafuls. I wouldn't worry about a single big sick. Keep an eye on his hydration if he's sicking and has the shits, mind, and feed him again if he seems hungry as fatty says.

Very brief post as am dribbling with exhaustion.

Survived London with my Mum and grumpy 2. Yay! Also survived the 3.5 hour strategic planning meeting I was actually there for...

Hope all good with everyone, will read back properly tomorrow (in the early hours no doubt!) x

I'm here! Just finished giving her a bottle. Praying that she'll go back down!!!
She's been so clingy yo me since our night away. Makes me worry about sending her to nursery when she's so young. Ahh fuck am I doing the right thing?! I'm guessing maternal guilt will be there at whatever age she goes into daycare but I'm really questioning myself right now...

No Mr Joskar - can't really see any nicks at all. Just a ruddy massive baldy razor mark!!!! Grin

We tried co-mapping today in the vain hope of me getting some sleep, worked ok and gave my arms a break! Gaaah that's the other thing about work, maybe I should wait until I'm getting more than a couple hours each night...although this may never happen with mini mzzzf!!

Elderflower Collins' all round!

Ohhh just s thought - can I use iPhone symbols now?! 😁🍰🍷

Clstow - hope the little sick note gets on the mend soon.

Quick question for all you SPG sufferers - would you have paid to see s private physio (£30-40 ish) whilst pre/post natal instead of waiting so long for NHS?!
I may be formulating a cunning plan!

mzzzf you do what works best for you, and if you find a nursery with staff you like they will do everything they can to make you less stressed about it all. Nursery staff are there to assist you in your parenting. And if you find a good one, we really do care about the children. I loved being in the nursery. I felt like I was actually making a difference in the childrens lives. And i genuinely felt sad if one of them left us for any reason. I still have fond memories of my pre-school teacher.

As you said you will feel guilt whatever age. We seem programmed to question every decision and feel crap no matter what we do and you can't rely on baby sleeping, my DS1 didn't sleep through until he was 4!

I'm here too. Not had any sleep yet and it's ds1s birthday in the morning so no chance of a lie in. Come on ds2 please settle and let's have some sleep. Dh went to bed 14 minutes ago and is already snoring. Envy

Alrightie mugabes! Can't reply to individuals but big old cuddles to all those poorly augmums and beautiful babies out there. I am dreading either molly or I getting sick (which will inevitably happen), so far all we've had is snuffles and only one night where she didn't sleep due to a blocked nose.

Decided to come and pay my folks a visit. SURRRPPRRISSSSE. Thankfully they were really happy lol! Going to stay here until Friday I think.

To get to sleep tonight she had boob, 5oz of expressed milk then more boob and rocking. Is there a 16 week growth spurt?! Naively thought she might sleep for longer. Like clockwork up at 2! Lime and soda for me, feel like ive been drinking too much recently x
