Yes, I've had all of mine in seats. Never used a carry cot with any of them. (Young skint mum, can't afford fancy travel systems! Just basic lie flat buggies here) they have all sat up in the seat bit from when they were around 10 weeks. They hated being led flat and I only lie them completely flat for sleeping.

everythingispeachy · 29/11/2015 15:15

Hi,

I think we are hitting the 4 month sleep regression too. Ds was going 8 till 4 then 4.20 till 6.30 but is now back to feeds at 11, 2 and 4 before we are up about 6. Argh I think it is almost worse to have sleep then have it taken away.

Loves I am currently sat outside B and Q at Hermiston Gait in the pouring rain. I can see the krispie Kreme sign from here. If I crack and go buy a box I only have you to blame Grin Dh is off to buy fittings for ds1 birthday cake. It is going to be huge! Dh just likes showing off. I'll post pictures next week.

Frolic you have a place that does take away Sunday roasts?! Amazing! We are having toad in hole today one we get home. It is horrid here today. We were supposed to be going to stirling castle as we had free tickets but the weather is lashing it down and didn't fancy it. Just want to get home and cosy up and watch a movie. After he loved the crumpet advert so much we are introducing ds1 to the muppets. Can't wait to start on the christmas films.

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 29/11/2015 15:44

Thanks everyone for the advice re fingernails. Can't seem to master doing it when he sleeps without waking him so I will try and find some tiny clippers. We've been using baby nail scissors but he hates it even if I don't nick him!

We have a Bumbo that we were given and DS will only do a few mins in it at a time. He doesn't seem interested in sitting yet as prefers being on his back even though his sister sat at 4 months.

My DS has about 3 hours' sleep from 8-11 every evening but we keep him downstairs for it as woe betide us trying to put him in his crib for it and leaving the room. He wakes straight up and screams the house down waking DD in the process. Having him with us seems the lesser of two evils.

Right I have to go now. Had loads more to write but DS is screaming and DH is struggling to handle him and DD! Ha ha mate. Welcome to my world! They don't have a blinking clue...

Frolicacid · 29/11/2015 20:56

Ds is asleep on his own upstairs for the first time!! It's so weird. I can't stop looking at the monitor. Does anyone else find baby monitors really creepy? I think I've seen something with one in a horror movie once and they really freak me out now.

Glad you had a good night out dozy. Much needed I'm sure. Sorry that you are struggling with the bf'ing. Sending you lots of virtual and un-mumsnetty hugs. Someone told me oats are good for supply - a brilliant reason to eat fuckloads of hob nobs and flapjacks IMO.
I hope the hangover wasn't too bad.

One of the local sandwich shops does the take away roast on a Sunday everything. It's quite random really as we only live in a very small town with very few take sways. But it's so lovely. I had a huge beef dinner today for £4.95 - no cooking and and only a plate to wash up after Grin

Balls! Ds is awake! Oh well, 1/2 an hour for the first attempt isn't bad I suppose.

Giraffescandance1 · 29/11/2015 21:38

Evening all,

I'm going to buck the trend and say I've loved using the carrycot on the pram for both of my babies. I use the bouncer at home quite a lot so I like seeing them lay flat when using the pram, baby is four months now and still likes the carrycot so long as I chat to her and/or recline the hood a bit so she can look at the trees etc.

I have a bumbo that I bought cheaply on eBay. I like it but even at 4 months dd seems wobbly in it so not really using it yet.

Right bedtime for me...hopefully a good sleep ahead or does it jinx it by saying that?! I need some chocolate too.

Lilydreams · 29/11/2015 21:45

Love- how bizarre we were both at frankies! If you tell me you had the caprese salad followed by ribs I'm gonna get freaked out!

Been reading today but only just managed to post so can't remember everything.

Interesting those on about the sit up bit of the pram- I've been wondering the same. Think i might give it a whirl one day soon as he gets bored when we're eating out/ having coffee etc if he's awake and I suppose I can still lie it back if he wants to sleep. I have a footmuff one not got out the pack yet- does that fit to the sit up way round as well as the lay down?

PIL dropped off bumbo, high chair and a sit me up but one that has space for legs and a play tray that they had been storing in their attic for us. DS was super cranky at the time as he was overtired but briefly sat him in he sit me up and he was fascinated by the toys on the tray and seemed impressed he could sit up and play. Excited to try him in them properly tommorrow although not high chair that's gone in the garage for now.

Dozy your night out sounds fab hope the hangovers not been too bad today!

Wow at the take away Sunday dinner!!! There's a place near us that does it but I've never tried it!

Frolic- yes to creepy baby monitors- is yours a video? They've featured on both criminal minds and blacklist recently where mum has seen someone taking baby on the monitor so yes creeps me out too!!

DS had a 25 min nap in his Cotbed today- he went asleep in there really quickly which bodes well. I'm really stuck with what to do as he's very nearly outgrown his Moses basket but I don't want to put him in his own room yet as I'm up so much in the night it would make it ten times more effort traipsing across the landing every time. DH tells
Me the Cotbed is too much effort to take down and put back up in our room- I'm considering a travel cot as a temporary thing- any recommendations? That said I might just insist DH moves the Cotbed as it would be good for DS to get used to sleeping in it in our room to build up for when he does go in on his own in it.

Good to hear others are back to doing night feeds too- at least we're all knackerd together!

After denying myself treats last night I had a lidl chocolate twist for lunch and have so far gobbled 3 buenos!! Why did I buy them!!! Gonna go munch another 1 before bed! Oink oink!

Fingers crossed for tonight mugabeans!!

sianihedgehog · 29/11/2015 22:44

Giraffes I'm with you on the carrycot - DS LOVES it. I have the hood down as long as weather permits, and a spiral toy on the carry handle which he plays happily with if I make sure he has his hands free. I've been worrying about him getting too big for it before he sits and rolls, mind. He's only got a couple of inches length left.

Grok · 29/11/2015 23:19

Hi all,
Sorry for another long absence; sleep regression makes my eyes too tired to read my mobile during those night feeds. BUT after a month of regression, I'm happy to report that DD started going to bed earlier and sleeping later, stretching her bedtime back to the regular 12 hours. she's still getting up 2-3 times a night but I see such an improvement in her quality of sleep. She also seems to have discovered napping and does it now like it's going out of style (ish - none had today tho!) She also fusses way less and stopped complaining when put in the car seat. This pic is the face she pulled yesterday getting out of the car!
She's sick atm (snotty and chesty cough) so no sleep on the menu tonight.

Basically, I think I can see a light at the end of the tunnel and just wanted to remind those of you in the thick of it that it will end! Now, cocktails and Buenos in me for everyone in Mugabes tonight - see you there!

Grok · 29/11/2015 23:21

... Buenos and cocktails ON me. Not IN me; I haven't eaten them all!! Blush

Lilydreams · 29/11/2015 23:34

No grok I've eaten them all!! Well 4 to be precise! Thanks for the ray of hope post- it is very reassuring to hear not only wil the regression end but with nice developmental outcomes too! DS s v.v. Cute btw!

Just been reading back through the ante natal thread and had to laugh at us all harping on about how lovely and supportive and how much our DHs looked after us- we were talking about buying them thankyou gifts!!! Ahahahahahahaha- what the hell happened to them!?!?!!!! All lovely and looking after us whilst baby in our bellies but once they're out they resume rubbish man mode!! Needless to say DS's early arrival meant I never got round to buying my DH that gift!! Nice one son! Aww that said I did feel a little pang of guilt at how much I complain about DH on here as reading my posts he really was tolerant of my pregnant whining and looked after me when I was mega sick and I had forgotten all that. Smile

Right zzz time wish me luck!! Frozen slushy strawberry daiquiris on me tonight!

Lilydreams · 29/11/2015 23:34

Argh from that should say DD is v. Cute!! Stupid phone autocorrects to DS I write it so often!

Fanby · 30/11/2015 01:31

Like clockwork I'm at the bar at 1am, a frozen daiquiri sounds amaze, knock me one of those bad boys up please!

We've had a blinder of a day to the point we administered some calpol around 6 o'clock. I'm assuming it's teething???! They've been coming through since about week 8 but today has been awful, poorly baby! Perhaps she's just ill? I have no fucking clue! Praying for a better day tomorrow because tomorrow is a newwwwww day. Pass me a cheeky chaser....

Fanby · 30/11/2015 01:32

Grok - she is GORGEOUS!! What a cutie! Thank you for sharing your positives too! Can I ask how many weeks she is now? xx

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 30/11/2015 02:07

Arrrgggghhhhh has anyone else not had ANY sleep yet tonight. I even had both children up.at the same time 45 mins ago. DS has just exploded his nappy. Thankfully DH changed him but now I'm feeding again. I just want some sleep. I dread bedtime.

Grok, your little girl is too cute!

Fanby, chuck some Buenos in a strawberry daiquiri for me please.

So ds has fallen asleep on me for about the 12th time tonight but I would bet my house he'll scream as soon as I put him down.

Lilydreams · 30/11/2015 02:10

So he's just chugged 6oz- he woke properly hungry for it tonight so at least I know feeding him at this time last night wasn't me messing with his pattern- makes me feel better after the terrible night that I didn't cause it!

Fanby- calpol is my go to when DS is hysterical and I've tried everything else- they just have pain somewhere!! Hope it settled your DD and she's having a better night for you.

Anyone else not get any wind out their LO after night feeds? I know dream feeds don't result in much because they are so relaxed but he is wide awake at the start of a night feed even if he does look asleep by the time he's finished!

Lilydreams · 30/11/2015 02:11

Xposts no longer- oh no sorry you've not had any sleep yet!! Sending you extra daiquiris and buenos!!

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 30/11/2015 02:21

Thanks Lily. They are gratefully received!

I don't get wind up at night either but if I don't hold him upright for about 20 mins after a feed then he writhes around in his crib grunting, wailing and doing the weird leg lift then slam them down thing.

Clstow · 30/11/2015 02:38

Whaaaaat? Why are we up at 2am DS? Nice that you're keen to see me but I'm not sure an extra feed is the best use of our night...

A has been in the pushchair bit for about a month now. He hates the bassinet attachment, isn't that keen on the pushchair tbh but will tolerate it for a while. He likes to be carried everywhere by sling which is ok while he's little but eventually my back will give up. I'm ever hopeful he'll just suddenly 'get' the pushchair though.

We had the same dilemma with him growing out his Moses Basket but we couldn't fit the cotbed in our room Lily... Went for a travel cot and he seems to really like it. Got the joie from mothercare as it has a suspended layer so I'm not bending down too far all the time - mattress is pretty thin so we got a topper for it to bulk it out.

Good to have you back with tales of surviving sleep regression Grok - super cute pic as well.

Hope your night improves Nolonger.

Take away roast? Sounds ideal... Love a good roast on a chilly Sunday.

DS looking sleepy so going to take my chances. Catch you Mugabeans again at 5 I guess.

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 30/11/2015 03:12

Morning all. Much better night here so far, this is our first wake up after a few nights of a lot of stirring and general cold-related sadness.

We don't get burps at night but like nolonger have to hold her upright for 20mins otherwise she writhes and groans when we put her down.

Love Sunday roasts! We have one every week smile. It's grumpy 1's favourite meal of the week (possibly because she gets to sit infront of DH gnawing on dead animals like a mini-Henry VIII).

Speaking of whom (grumpy 1 that is not Henry VIII) here is the fabled star costume ready for the infant school production of Babushka. Aww.

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 30/11/2015 03:12

Ooops, here it is!

August 2015. It's all about food consumption and late nights at Bar Mugabe Nights
Grok · 30/11/2015 03:46

Thanks guys! I think she's adorable too, although I might be hugely slightly biased!

Fanby, DD is 17 weeks. Started her regression the night before turning 3 months.

Lily, haha don't worry about the autocorrect, I knew what you meant!! I think all us sleepy mums understand what we mean not what we say, or we'd be up all night editing our posts!

No longer, I don't bother w nighttime burping. DD burps if she has wind at night and I'm afraid to wake her to get burps.

Alright just came into Mugabes for this daiquiri - it was amaze balls. Need to get a Panadol because the music in here is too loud I've got a killer headache. Someone tell the bouncer to let me back in for the next round!

Fanby · 30/11/2015 04:52

Lily - I'm another hold them up right but I don't do it for 20mins I must say!!

Nolonger - we get the leg smack down every no and again, it worried me for a while that she was going to be a wrestler when she's older Grin

Slowwife - look at that Star!!!! Amazing!!! What an awesome costume!! Did you make it???

Grok - hmm I need to go back and read her diary of when the shit sleep started again, she's 15 weeks today...I hear it can go on until 6 months or so/for the rest of ruddy life....

mzzzf · 30/11/2015 07:33

Slow that star costume and your DD are brilliantly cute!!!! Granny is deffo awesome with a needle and threadGrin

We don't do burps after feeding either in fact I've stopped doing active winding after feeds full stop. She'll burp if she needs to. I do still have her upright for 20mins post feeds though without fail.

Roasts - sacrosanct here but I can take or leave them normally but DH makes them just like I like them. I could however just eat a tray full of Yorkshire pud. I mean the home made ones that use a whole baking tray, no tiny little ones here. Ahhh I think I might toad in the hole it soon!!! YUM!

DHs birthday yesterday and we actually sneaked a quickie in!! Woohoo!!! Grin Mine is tomorrow so I might get another go!! Hahaha

Mini mzzzf is the queen of crap nighttime sleep. The one thing that I think that has made a giant difference is me sticking to the same wake up time and getting to bed time. Everything can go to shit during the day but these two times are cemented. It's massively helped her get better sleep I think but it did take a week to get her used to the new 'rules'. And now she's awake naturally at that time and starts eye rubbing at the bedtime. I literally have no routine or schedule for anything else in the day - she fits in with me but morning and night time are fixed!

I think it'll be a while before she drops her 1am feed though as she's still draining it when I give it to her. She's taking lots of milk during the day too so it's not like she's refusing it during the daytime.

I did start her on some veggies this weekend. She was very enthusiastic and receptive but the cauliflower was not a hit!! I quite agree unless there's cheese sauce involved!!! Grin

Giraffescandance1 · 30/11/2015 07:33

siani my dd has a worm thing round the handle bar with toys too, she's only recently started playing with it but loves it.

slow your dd is gorgeous, beautiful smile!

Grok I love the photo, adorable baby!

Fanby fingers crossed some teeth will pop through soon. Teething is so cruel for babies, I imagine a whole set of teeth growing is very painful. I've been told the pain starts two months before the tooth comes through. My friends baby got teeth at under four months too.

Afm I don't wind after night feeds anymore, in fact I don't move her at all Grin even the 3am nappy change is done by slipping a new nappy under her old one and whipping the old one away. Even though she wakes for night feeds still they are very short and I'm feeling much more rested, I remember when she was newborn I had to change her nappies constantly due to all the pooing and feeding had to be done sitting up holding her. I think in my case it has been a very gradual improvement on the nights, I'm not expecting eight hours sleep for a long time but I'm grateful for what I've got now!

Does anyone else's dh get moany about child related purchases? I've bought the jumperoo for baby and want to buy a bouncy castle for older dd but dh moans about all the 'plastic tat'. I remind him that I'm paying for this stuff and I'll sell it on afterwards/buy it second hand so I'm not killing the environment too much Grin

I need chocolate today!

loveandsmiles · 30/11/2015 08:06

I was hoping to wake up to snow this morning - we had snow yesterday but it didn't last - was snowing when I went to bed but just wet and windy this morning - thought we might get snowed in and wouldn't have to bother going out today!!

everything did you get donuts?? The mind boggles about your DS birthday cake - can't wait to see!

slow what a super, smiley starStar

grok great look and love the snow suit

lily I had burger with pulled beefGrin and a too big dessert!!

Had a rubbish night - toddler up with a temperature so came in beside me and baby then baby did a huge, explosive poo - had to get up and shower baby and me and change bed - toddler slept throughout!! How can that much poo come out of such a tiny person?!?!
