Celtic park!!!! Grin
Sorry Blush

Apparently a grt grt grt etc, uncle of mine was one of the founders of Celtic so its in my blood you see (don't know how true that is, its what my grandad and my great uncle arthur used to tell us).

mzzzf · 12/11/2015 12:09

That is paradise to DH!! Grin I'm more Glasgow Warriors!

Right ladies, any tips for me. I've a super clingy grizzy baby. Doesn't want to let go of me at all. Usually she'll happily play independently on her mat or chair for a while but today it's just not happening. Plus DH isn't back until midnight tonight so it's me on duty all day - send chocolate!!!

Sorry for being all me me me ladies. Just getting to the end of my tether and energy at the moment. 3hrs of sleep followed by odd 10-20mins of sleep is not enough for me. DD only wants to be in my arms right now... Is this a clingy growth spurt, teething side effect or have I fallen fowl of what all those gurus warned and I've made a rod for my sodding back!! Fuuuucccckkkkk!

FattyNinjaOwl · 12/11/2015 12:11

Oh no, I don't do rugby union. Give me league any day! Wigan warriors!
Ds2 is in a clingy stage too. Which is why I want the sling, then I still have hands for the other two and to do housework.

Joskar · 12/11/2015 12:49

Think the storm is coming. Just in from walking the dog and the sky is dark and threatening. Don't think it's going to be too bad here til tomorrow. We don't have mains electric anyway though so stuff like this doesn't bother us too much. Plenty wood; plenty food; plenty gin. I'm from the Hebrides and we were supposed to be going there tomorrow but all the ferries are cancelled. Can't get hold of my parents so I'm assuming the storm is bad there already. I know there was lightning all last night and they've got 100mph winds forecast.

If you're wanting the highlands you'd be better flying to Inverness, Giraffe. Depends what you want. Walking, history, skiing, food, hills, lochs, shopping. What do you like doing on holiday? In Glasgow I love the Burrell. What do you like, Mzzf? My brother lives in Partick. George Square will be good at Christmas I'd think.

We're going to the borders for a holiday in a National Trust property with a pile of pals next weekend. The theme is Alice in Wonderland. Costume ideas? Help!

Are you going to be ok with a sling, Fatty? How's your spd? I suffer from it too and I've always found wraps are ok but buckles kill me. I got a SaBe wrap for £5 off eBay and it's great. I have a pricey didymos wrap for a bigger bairn. Used it all the time with dd1. Also have a bush baby carrier but only Dh uses that because it's quite heavy.

I'm packing up the 0-3 stuff. Cora is the youngest on here I think but she's over 13lbs already. I'm so sad. Her big sister was in 0-3 til she was about 5 months! So many lovely things have to be put away.

FattyNinjaOwl · 12/11/2015 12:54

joskar I seem to be improving a lot. I feel more able to move about and am actually starting to think of exercising. My worry is doing too much too fast. I'm hoping I will be OK with it. If not I will have to sell on, but thought its worth a try especially with having the toddler to run round after! Speaking of, she's currently emptying the toy box!

Tindel · 12/11/2015 12:55

Joskar When I was 10, got two large pieces of card, stuck on hearts and numbers like a playing card, put pieces of ribbon over the top edges, like a sandwich board, grabbed a paint tin and brush and I was one of the cards painting the roses red. My mum hated fancy dress, so she always went for easy options!

J has only just got into his 0-3 stuff, he was 11 lbs 11 oz on Monday, but he's quite long with big feet

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 12/11/2015 13:39

I'm NW Fatty and RL too. Grew up supporting Leeds Rhinos. Moved to Manchester about 5 years ago. Your DD is super cute!

Sorry Mzzzf but DS slept through too to 7am! He fell asleep on DH about 9 and didn't wake even when we took him up to his crib.

He's got quite a small head so people think he's younger than he is even though he's quite young. My DD was the same. Guess it meant my births weren't too horrendous though!

We went swimming this morning and he's been asleep ever since. He lived it though and giggled throughout.

Off for a walk with a mum friend now too. We're going to support each other to lose some weight and tone up.

Hope everyone enjoys their afternoons.

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 12/11/2015 13:39

Long not young.

FattyNinjaOwl · 12/11/2015 13:49

Boo! Dirty Leeds! Grin
My DS went to the grand final this year. Lucky bugger. I couldn't get a babysitter or my other two so I couldn't tag along.

Everyone thinks DS2 is older. He's very big, so he's in 6-9 clothes and his head is massive! I had to buy hats 9-12 months to fit his newborn head! Bless. I get asked if he and DD are twins a lot...Confused
You can tell he's younger!

I'm trapped under a sleeping baby and I'm drifting off to sleep. I best put him down and do some busy work to wake myself up!

We are having a very clinging day to mzzzf and fatty after a rubbish night. DS is currently half napping on me. Just when I think he is properly over he sucks the dummy and opens one eye!! Must admit at a few points today have felt very close to the end of my tether. This too shall pass. This too shall pass. In the mean time there's always a gin. (My phone just tried to autocorrect gin to gun. Jesus phone things aren't that bad)

Ok didn't realise you were supposed to keep giving bottles to a baby regularly to stop them becoming a bottle refuser. Oops. Although if DS continues the mood he's been in for the last few weeks I think he's more likely to become a boob refuser. Sometimes he seems so cross when I offer boob.

We've packed all the 0-3 stuff away. DS has been in 3-6 for a while now. Makes me v sentimental but nice to dress him in actual clothes a bit more. Lots of our 0-3 stuff was just baby grows. Out of interest how many people found out the sex of baby at the scan? We didn't so lots of our little stuff was all in neutrals. Not that I think for one second you have to pay any attention to that of course.

Good luck everyone in Scotland with the storm. I do love Scotland. DH and I got engaged on a weekend in Glasgow. V cool city. Edinburgh is lovely too.

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 12/11/2015 14:10

I went to the Challenge Cup final at Wembley in 2012 but it was when Leeds lost to Warrington. Great day out though. A v good season for the Rhinos this year esp with the legends retiring.

Some people are daft - your two are obviously not the same age! They are both gorgeous though.

Kbro, I give DS a couple of bottles of expressed a week to keep him taking them. Seems to be working so far.

I live the auto corrections! !

mzzzf · 12/11/2015 14:42

I want to say the storm has hit Glasgow but rainy grey windy days aren't unusual here Wink

On a better note my star snug has arrived!! Grin Medium is fricking HUGE though, ah well it'll last!!

FattyNinjaOwl · 12/11/2015 14:45

I looked at those and was tempted, but I just kept thinking of Maggie Simpson Grin

Joskar · 12/11/2015 14:45

Tindel you gorgeous woman! Saved my bacon! I can totally do that.

FattyNinjaOwl · 12/11/2015 15:00

Fancy dress? For children in need?
My DS1 has that tomorrow. He's supposed to be a superhero, but I couldn't find an outfit in his size so he's being Darth Vader. Heroes need villains....and technically Darth Vader is annekin Skywalker so that makes him a hero of sorts doesn't it? Grin

Lilydreams · 12/11/2015 15:47

Think there is a few of us in the northwest you are right fatty me, you, dozy I think and I'm sure more but can't remember! My dad moved to the borders at the start of the year we haven't been to visit yet as he is refurbishing the entire house down the electrics and central heating and we don't want DS in the dust but I can't wait I think we'll go at the start of January he says it will be nearly done then. He lives about an 8 minute walk from the beach and walks he dog there every morning, in a village where everyone knows everyone- sounds idyllic! Those on Scotland how far are the borders from where you can ski? Wondering if we can sneak a days skiing in when we do visit or is it a trek?

Siani- sorry you had a difficult night and well done your DH for helping out!

Mzzf- sending buenos, galaxy and chocolate twists with a side of coffee to dunk them in. I'm sure you've not made a rod for your back don't worry- DS is usually very happy playing independently but a few weeks back was super clingy and whingey for about 3 days in a row, it will pass.

Had a mooch around the shops after baby sensory today and was so indecisive I came away with nothing for DS! He is in all his 0-3 despite being nearly 4 months and probably has a good few more weeks in them yet so i want new things I can put him in now but don't really NEED them and at the same time when I look at the 3-6 months stuff it looks massive and so I can't imagine him wearing them and end up putting them back! I think the lady in next thought I was shoplifting as she was hovering around and then asked me if I wanted any help and I said I couldn't make up my mind and then left 10 minutes later with nothing! Doh! Couldn't even spend the £50 voucher I got for my birthday on myself- the only thing I REALLY wanted is out of stock completely! Met a friend for coffee afterwards with his 2 year old DD- she is absolutely adorable and was chatting away to me bless her, made me excited for when DS is that age although at the same time I don't want him to grow up!

I've bought new headphones so am 100% running when DH gets home, I'm going to change into my gear before he's in to make sure I've no excuses! Can't remember who said but I agree I will definately find my original earphones as soon as I get back no doubt! I did it years ago with £100 hair extensions- looked for weeks and bought new ones then found the old ones in the toilet roll basket in the bathroom! Oopsy! That said I always say we have borrowers as we have lost loads of things that have never turned up even when we've moved- we do a memory book (scrap booking cinema tickets, restaurant recipes etc) and lost the first we did and it didn't show up when we moved to our last house and a gro egg I got off eBay before we moved here and again it never showed up in the move! Weird!

Frolicacid · 12/11/2015 16:32

Good afternoon!

I forgot to mention yesterday that Ds rolled over in baby massage! I didn't see it, but one minute he was on his front and the next he was on his back. My friend had to pint it out to me Blush. I think it was a fluke because he hasn't even tried to do it before or after!
I met a local breastfeeding group this afternoon. Really nice ladies and some are trained peer supporters, which could be very handy. I'm pleased I've found a few Groups to go to now the weather is getting shit and the initial rush of visitors has died down. There is another group at the library that I will try tomorrow.

Ds was totally zonked after baby massage and slept all evening yesterday. I was worried he wouldn't sleep last night but it didn't have any impact. He did wake up for the day earlier than usual, which makes me wander if he is naturally moving towards and earlier bed time and morning. I'll miss staying in bed until 10 if that's the case!

We've used cloth nappies out and about for the first time today and not had any disasters Smile

Ds is still in 0-3. He's quite slight, so the tops still have plenty of room. But his legs are long so he's growing out of the bottoms pretty quickly. I've bought him some tights so that we get a few more weeks out of some outfits without his little ankles getting cold.

I hope all of you up in Scotland are braving the storm. It's pretty rough here, but nothing like you have forecast. Batten down the hatches and stick some brandy in your hot chocolates.

That sleepsuit is adorable loves! How lovely to have it passed down like that.

Well done your Ds on the self settling lily. Ds sometimes gets it, but totally fails other times.

Glad your meet up went well dozy. I always imagine it would be really weird to use people's real names rather than usernames!

Your dh sounds lovely siani! Well done him for saving your night.

I really hope mini mzzf gets through this spurt quickly for you. Clingy days can feel so suffocating.

You have very cute babies fatty! I would definitely tell the next person who mistakes them for twins to go get their eyes tested though Confused

We found out we were having a boy at the scan kbro. I found it made it a bit easier to prepare and helped me get excited about things after the horrible hyperemesis misery. I met a woman today who was mistakenly told she was having a boy twice! Apparently I was trying to make dh chose a girl name 'just in case' when I was off my face on morphine during labour.

Happy Thursday everyone! Almost the weekend again Grin

Frolicacid · 12/11/2015 16:43

mzzf I've just seen these in m&s. Could you size up and put them over a sleepsuit instead of a blanket maybe?
www.marksandspencer.com/2-pack-of-girls-bundlers/p/p22386538

Tindel · 12/11/2015 16:43

Joskar glad I could help, post a picture of your costume? Wink

kbro We deliberately decided not to find out the sex. My mum decided we had found out we were having a girl because I "let it slip" at one point. DH thought he saw balls at the scan, but didn't want to say anything in case he was wrong. I had absolutely no intuition of whether I was having a girl or a boy and was thrilled to find out when J was born.

We've had a nice day - baby massage in the morning and a walk round the lake this afternoon. J loves the massage, although he got really upset when I was massaging his face under his nose. He had a feeding tube for his first few days and the instructor reckoned he might have bad associations as a result. He loved his back massage though, so looking forward to including that in tonight's pre-bath massage

FattyNinjaOwl · 12/11/2015 16:54

I found out what I was having with all 3 of mine.
DS1 I wanted to know because I didn't like surprises.
DD DS1 decided he needed to know
And DS2 the lollipop lady threatened me Shock I was only 6 weeks pregnant, only just found out and she guessed. She told me I had to tell her the sex or she would hit me with her stick!

rrra · 12/11/2015 17:39

Well, I'm back in hospital with DS and we are staying the night. He was sick a couple of times (whole feeds) and his temp went up. The docs were not sure what to do so monitored him but now decided to stay in and start antibiotics.

I hate hospitals. And I'm so hungry as they've not offered me any food! I've been here since 12.30. Good job I had a bacon roll at 11.30! I bet I get no sleep tonight. He hates the hospital for so I've been holding him all afternoon.

Do I win all of the caffeine, alcohol and choc?

FattyNinjaOwl · 12/11/2015 17:48

Oh rrra that's crap
Here alcohol and caffiene in one

Frolicacid · 12/11/2015 18:03

You totally win all of the caffeine, alcohol
And choc rrra.
Get well soon little one - thinking of you both Flowers

kbro79 · 12/11/2015 18:40

Tindel · 12/11/2015 18:42
