Hope it goes well Glorious. My boss has posted the ad for my job share today - fingers crossed they get some replies!

Potty training going well here too - so glad we waited til he was 3! He is highly motivated by sweets and has had to be told several times that he doesn't get a sweet for just a fart! :-)

Other moments of hilarity include "Ohno mummy", looked and he'd managed to get his pants and trousers fully back on but his willy was still somehow peeping out! Still not sure how that happened!

Cupcakes get used to the guilt! I feel like all DS did for the first six months of DD's life was watch Peppa! It's a bit better now. Seriously though, don't feel guilty, if you are having a nice cuddle on the sofa and you're watching it with him and having a chat I reckon that counts as perfectly good quality mummy time.

glorious · 21/01/2016 08:34

Ooh exciting meringue . Hope you find someone good.

And brilliant that potty training is going well for so many of us. DD was going to the potty for every fart at first too, it was so cute!

SnozzberryMincePie · 21/01/2016 09:22

Exciting meringue, hope you find someone good.

Potty training OK here, dd has got it with wees although I've noticed she is quite dehydrated - she doesn't wee much and it is quite dark. The problem is she doesn't like water, but I'm reluctant to let her drink too much juice - I'm not sure if it is better to be dehydrated or drink lots of sugary juice? We're also getting there with poos, chocolate is a great motivator Grin

RatOnnaStick · 21/01/2016 10:08

We've cracked wee, he takes himself to the loo off his own ask now, aim needs practice though. Poo is another matter hes taken doing them in his nappy overnight. No attempt on the loo yet.

meringue33 · 21/01/2016 12:19

*Snozz we just put a splash of fresh Orange juice in his water bottle and call it juice :-)

SnozzberryMincePie · 21/01/2016 15:24

Thanks meringue I will try that, she will drink 50/50 watered down juice so I will try gradually decreasing the amount of juice in there. I tried her with cooled fruit tea this morning but she was unimpressed!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 21/01/2016 20:57

Great news on the potty training! DS has taken to wiggling his hips whilst he wees. Messy.

Had my booking in with the midwife today. Feeling a bit better now but horribly bloated! Ah the joys of pregnancy.

DS will be 3 tomorrow. How on earth did that happen?

MavolioBent · 21/01/2016 22:19

3 years had flown hasn't it?!

Glad to hear potty training is going well. We have had no accidents but poo is still an issue.. she has discovered 'weeing in school' and her new favourite game involves lots of trips to the infants toilets at school Hmm

Also caught her trying to wee like her brother yesterday... Confused

SnozzberryMincePie · 21/01/2016 22:56

Mavolio get her a shewee Grin

Happy birthday minicupcake! Cake

glorious · 22/01/2016 12:54

Happy birthday minicupcake!

Grin at the she wee. Might be useful for Glastonbury for DD though (and me). Those loos have improved a lot but I think she will hate them.

glorious · 30/01/2016 11:23

Well it's party day today. Running around tidying, decorating and finishing the food. Unfortunately I have a cold which feels rather unfair.

Birthday itself is tomorrow so that should be a bit more relaxed.

RatOnnaStick · 30/01/2016 16:13

Happy birthday for tomorrow E! Hope your party is going/gone nicely and that the tiger left you some sausage and mash and ice cream to eat Cake.

WineWineWine for you Glorious, as soon as its appropriate.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 30/01/2016 17:42

Happy birthday for tomorrow, E! Hope the party went well.

glorious · 04/02/2016 22:15

Thank you, it did! I was ill and tired but we got through it. Here we are in our costumes Grin and here is the food (like in the book). And the tiger cake!

Hello everyone 😀 I've not been on mum's net for months and months. I hope everyone's doing amazingly.

Since Christmas we've had a very busy time, dad's 70th, dexter's birthday, the dps mum died the day after :( I think we are starting to recover, although dp is worrying me a bit cos while it was all going on he wasn't taking his happy pills properly and it's caught up w him, hopefully now he's taking them properly he should start to perk up.

I'm feeling very broody now (hate that word) so I'm getting the coil out in march n we've agreed to make a sibling for the dexter guy. What a pissing faff it is to get out though, can't do it at the Dr's who put it in, hafto go into the city and they can only do it thurs mornings or if I go to a walk in... it's called a walk in but they tell you to turn up at half 8 in the morning and wait for about 5 hrs to be seen. It's like they are holding me captive and taking the decision of reproducing out my hands. Plus the fact if you book an appointment it's a two month wait. Twats. Puts me off the coil again if I hafto go through this palarva.

Has anyone started the free nursery hours yet? I'm not sure when I want to do it.

Blink1982 · 04/02/2016 22:42

Here's the dude at 3 with his plate of snow for breakfast.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 05/02/2016 11:25

Hi blink, been wondering where you've been! Sorry to hear about your MIL.

DS has been in nursery since 11 months so his 15 hours funding will just go against that after easter. What's nursery availability like around your way?

Blink1982 · 05/02/2016 14:13

There's a few but I don't want to have to use the whole 15 HRS I was just thinking 1 morning, maybe one day...

CutYourHairAndGetAJob · 05/02/2016 16:51

Hi all, this is snozzberry, thought it was time for a name change.

Glorious the party looks great! Hope e enjoyed her day?

Blink welcome back! Sorry to hear about your mil. Dexter is gorgeous.

Life with two is hard, I'm finding it all a bit relentless at the moment. Dd goes to nursery for her free hours, for two while days. It saves my sanity and gives me some time alone with ds and to catch up with the house work (although ds lives in the sling so I am limited to what I can do while carrying him!)

Today I have them both and DD has been poorly with an upset tummy so not the greatest day. They're both asleep on me now. Luckily I persuaded her to wear a nappy.

Do you think our three year olds can understand the difference between truth and lying yet? Dd lies about silly little things (have you done a wee on the floor? No? Why are you standing in a puddle then?). I don't know how to deal with this, I explained that lies arent very nice but I'm not sure if she gets it, and if I should just make a joke out of it for now.

Blink1982 · 05/02/2016 23:11

I'm not sure on the lying thing. Today, apparently a tiger was chasing us on our way back from the shop, clearly imagination and play rather than lying. Like Ratt, I have a guy who will happily go for wees all day, only just got the pulling up n down bit but will save his poos for nappies at night or if we go out. I'll ask him if he's done a poo and he'll say no, I don't make a point of it I'll just say oh ok, let's clean your bum then. So he's clearly lying but I definately don't think it's an intentional attempt at lying if you know what I mean.

MavolioBent · 05/02/2016 23:29

Ivy straight out lies! She will do something eg hit her sister then when you tell her to say sorry she will say 'I didn't you did' even though you just watched her! I honestly think at this age they ate just sort of testing it do in fact believe what they are saying. All 4 have done similar at the same age :)

Ivy missed the cut off date for free hours this term by 2.5 fecking hours but the playgroup don't think they will have spaces after easter so she won't go till she starts nursery in Sept. I can't wait...she is so ready to go!

Sorry to hear about mil blink :(

Glorious that party looks fab!

Life's hard here. Ds2 so called friends have started to be really mean and I'm getting fed up of dealing with it. I wish I could wrap him up in cotton wool, he doesn't deserve this crap :(

LetThereBeCupcakes · 06/02/2016 08:43

Oh no Mavolio, your poor DS. Are the school supportive / involved?

We have had a little lying, not masses though. Last week DS told my mum that "mummy said I could have more sweeties..." mummy had said no such thing and was standing right behind him at the time. When I pointed this out to DS, he turned and stared at me for a bit, then put his hand up at me as if to block out my very existence before turning back to grandma to ask for sweeties. He did not get sweeties. Massive tantrum.

CutYourHairAndGetAJob · 06/02/2016 09:44

Glad to hear DD isn't the only one who is getting creative with the truth. Sounds like none of them are very good at it yet!

Mavolio that sounds horrible, your poor ds

MavolioBent · 06/02/2016 13:48

Cupcakes both me and Ds2 have spoken to his teacher. I was very proud of him for not letting it fester but going straight to his teacher. But it's awkward as he doesn't want them in trouble so his teacher is doing a lot of relationship type stuff in pshe to try and help. It was seeming better as he is now choosing to play with others rather than try to keep in this friendship group but there was an incident after after school football when there are no adults on the walk home. I don't get it. If they don't want to be friends anymore fine but they still knock for him then ditch him...arrrrgggh!

Dd1 went to a sleepover last night and is evil when she's tired Confused today could be a long one

MavolioBent · 06/02/2016 13:49

Sorry for long post! This parenting shit is hard :(
