Congrats on your new baby 😀 we are attempting to make one because we feel happy that we have done an ok job with dexter so far.

He is a really tall guy, he wears 5-6 stuff but he's still a young three in my mind. Only started talking properly about three/four months ago. And only half potty trained too, he insists on a nappy n trousers for a poo. But his height means ppl often expect him to be capable of more.

Will Ivy have a uniform? How many hours will she be doing? Dexter only does 6hrs at the min but I'm thinking about increasing it slightly.

Ivy will go every morning... yay me time!! She will have school uniform. Tried on her sister's old stuff a,while ago and she looked so cute Smile We had to give away the 3-4 stuff tho as ivy keeps growing. Dd1 is quite petite and skinny and Ivy is..umm..bigger Grin
I will miss her but she is sooo ready to go.

Ivy was a nightmare with poo! Wouldn't even do it in a nappy. Have you tried poo goes to pooland?

Will you increase Dexters hours as he will be on the grant now?

Right - I'm back! Finally managed to get rid of the "user" nn. I used to be LTBC but might have flounced

Couple of phots for you - DS and brand new DD, who arrived on the 10th at 36+6. DS absolutely ADORES her and has been brilliant.

I'm having a similar toileting conundrum - DS is quite tall and really doesn't fit on his potty but he WILL NOT use the toilet! He's quite happy to use toilets at other people's houses and at nursery, just not here... Hmm

Aww look at them! Real mini people 😁

Poolands not helped, it just became a fun thing to do on his tablet, and now he's figured he can store other games and stuff in the icon as a folder. He cares not for pooland 😈 we'll get there, I'm not stressing.... yet.

I enjoy his company right now and I love going places with him. I don't think he'd get much more from playschool other than learning to be away longer and me having to get up earlier. If I up his hours it'd only be slightly I think.

Bella is he still refusing wees on your loo or both? We got him to do it by watching dp. He'll only use it if we r upstairs. We have one of those big thomas pottys that do the tunes downstairs which is just about still big enough for him.

They are lovely at this age aren't they. Funny little people. Can't lie though am looking forward to Ivy going to nursery and finally having some time to myself Grin

Bella aww lovely baby. Hope you're enjoying lots of cuddles.

Dd1 is 8 today. Was dragged out of bed at stupid am. She's very excited!

Happy birthday to your DD Mavolio, i hope she had a lovely day.

Blink he refuses to sit on it at all! He prefers to take his potty to where he's playing so he can carry on with what he's doing. Then he sits on the potty for absolutely ages...

DS is at preschool this morning so I'm cuddled up on the sofa with DD. In a fit of insanity I promised DS we could do some baking this afternoon. Then I've got my first solo bedtime with both DCs. Eek!

DS has been absolutely lovely since DD arrived. His behaviour had been going steadily downhill so I was really worried but he's been a different child the last couple of weeks. Think he might have thought having the baby would be worse than it is!

Hi everyone!

I haven't been on here in aaaaaaages. And I've NC'd - used to be Tugs.

Congratulations to you Bella on your DD! What a little sweetie. I hope you're settling in ok to life with two littlies. That's great your DS is being lovely. Long may it continue! Did you have to stay in hospital because she was a bit early?

Ivy and Dexter look super cute too. How are they all so grown up? DD1 went back to preschool last week - we were both ready! DD2 is now 17 months and a little madam.

Blink DD1 also had poo-related toilet issues until v recently. Refused to go basically and was having to give her lactulose everyday to force her to go. Poo goes to pooland did help a bit but eventually she just seemed to get over it... So it's good you're not stressing

Malvolio you must be v excited about getting some time to yourself!

Hi Vis, we had to stay in for 3 days. There was a bit of a cock up on there part so they gave me a private ensuite room to shut me up so it was quite nice! Missed DS like crazy though.

I've just booked two school tours for DS. Can't quite believe we've got to this point already. Feeling quite sad that this is his final year being home with me. Always thought I'd be the sort of parent who welcomes every new stage but apparently not! He's so read for it though.

Bella its mad how quick it all goes! Hope you're enjoying your new little one.

Ivy started nursery on Monday. She loves it and was so excited to go in again this morning. She looks so grown up in her school uniform Smile

No.need for school visits for Ivy thankfully but have to take ds2 for an open evening at ds1 school as he will be moving to secondary school in September. I don't know how this happened...

Hello all

Look at all our babies looking all grown up!

DD is already at nursery but we are starting to look at schools, we've got appointments to go and look around our two nearest ones. She is small for her age but her communication/social skills are good, I think she will love school.

Ds is ten months now, crawling around and getting into everything. I don't know where the time has gone.

Ltbc/Bella congratulations on your gorgeous squishy baby! How are you getting on?

cut DD is doing really well! She's nearly 11 weeks now. I can't believe your baby is 10 months already!

We're having real issues with DS at the moment. He's become increasingly aggressive. None of the children at nursery will play with him any more. I've had to stop arranging playdates for him. I'm seriously thinking about pulling him out of nursery all together. I've got an appointment with the GP next week but tbh I can't really see what they'll do.

I feel so sad for him. He'll have such a miserable life if he can't make friends. He keeps talking about what he wants for his birthday party, but we've not got anybody to invite. Sad

Bella my DS is like this too and very bossy! Makes me sad to think he playing alone at nursery as nobody will want to play with him.Sad

Report
BellaGoth · 05/11/2016 06:38

Oh hooly it's awful, isn't it? I took DS to soft play yesterday and he just sat and watched the other children most of the time. I think he's scared to join in.

The GP was worse than useless, basically said it's all my fault but there's nothing anyone can do until he starts school. Fortunately the HV has been better and they're coming out to do an assessment next week.

Report
hoolabaybee · 21/11/2016 22:41

Good luck with it, hope they can be of help.

When I take DS to soft play he latches on to 'any' adult that's in there playing with their own kid and starts bossing both the adult and its child to play with him Shock, it can be quite embarrassing

Just saw this thread in active! Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your boys. Bella, do you think it's related to the new baby? Dd went through a very difficult stage when ds was a newborn. It's a big adjustment for them.

My top tips for coping with a preschooler and pregnancy /newborn days are:

Telly

More telly Wink

Dexter will be fine and it's great that he'll be starting school so you will be able to spend lots of one on one time with the new baby. I only coped with the newborn days because dd was getting her funded nursery hours two days a week!

Speaking of school, I hope everyone is getting on OK with school applications. I think we are fine, our very local school is under subscribed but I think it looks great.
