Yes cupcakes Ivy is,pretty hard work these days. It's,part of them growing up I think. They are flexing their muscles a bit I think. Ivy honestly seems to think she is,in charge. She also.never.shuts.up!! She is,so very ready for nursery in September :)

On the plus side she is quite entertaining.

Good news..she finally poos in the toilet after weeks of frustration and tears (mine and hers). Such a relief as the Dr was absolutely useless, when I took her!

Hope everyone is,ok.

glorious · 17/03/2016 17:52

Well done ivy!

Yes, 3 is a bit tough, we said that right after the birthday! Touch wood she's calmed down a little.

We sold our house within a week for more than we expected so that was good. Really struggling to find anywhere though and I'm still very dad about moving. Gave notice at work this week so last day will be mid June. Sob.

I'm off on jury service next week, wish me luck!

glorious · 28/03/2016 20:24

Hi everyone, happy easter.

I have eaten way too much chocolate and these are now calling to me

January 2013 - my do it on my own!
LetThereBeCupcakes · 29/03/2016 08:21

They look amazing glorious! DS got a ridiculous amount of chocolate, think we will be melting some down to make rice krispie cakes later.

I got called in to nursery to "discuss DS' behaviour" last week. He's been getting worse and worse over the last few weeks, culminating in a nasty bite to another child on Wednesday. Sad His Key Worker was really nice though, she didn't know the extent of what's been happening at home (how ill I've been with HG, losing DDog and so on) so thinks that's probably what's going on. She also said he's very bright (they don't use the G&T label but she said he's certainly "on their radar") so she thinks he's bored / frustrated. She's moving him up with the group of children starting school this year as he is keen to learn and responds well to structure, but there a bit stumped as to what to do with him when that group goes to school! He could end up quite a bit ahead of the children in his proper year group. I guess they'll have to figure something out. I don't care what they do TBH so long as he stops hurting the other children.

glorious · 30/03/2016 16:40

Retro but delicious!

Sorry that DS has been unsettled. I'm glad the nursery are being nice and looking for solutions for him. Though I see what you mean about bumping him up a group! Perhaps it's easier for them to extend what they do in the top room iyswim, so he won't get bored there?

Is your HG improving at all or still awful? It must be so grim Flowers

LetThereBeCupcakes · 12/04/2016 09:29

No more sickness but still pretty much constant nausea! The only time I don't feel queasy is when I have indigestion. Hmm

DS is doing better at nursery now that they've put some things in place. Although he's now being a dog.

Any luck finding a house?

glorious · 12/04/2016 17:08

Constant nausea is grim Sad I had that from about 5 weeks to about 35 weeks (and actual sickness until 20 weeks, though not HG). Hope it improves soon Flowers

Glad DS is doing better.

We have found a house, yes, offer accepted last Friday so still very early days. And I have an interview next month for a job in Cambridge which would also be a big promotion. Eek! Tomorrow I have a chat through my psychometric results and other related question with a psychologist, who then writes a report for the interview panel. Wish me luck!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 12/04/2016 18:09

Ooh fingers crossed, that sounds amazing!

Next time I'm in Cambridgeshire visiting the inlaws we shall have to arrange a meetup. Think they're about 30 minutes from Cambridge.

Where's the rest of our group? I'm going to start mumsnet stalking them I think!

glorious · 12/04/2016 20:11

Ooh yes a meet up would be fab!

Yeah it has gone a bit quiet...

Tugstonia · 14/04/2016 20:37

Hi all, haven't been on in an age... How is everyone?

cupcakes glad the sickness has abated although the nausea sounds horrid. How many weeks are you now? Hope the nausea eases off soon.

glorious great news about the house and interview! Fingers crossed for both. Have you sold your place yet?

DD2 had her first birthday a couple of weeks ago - craziness. She is crawling and climbing and into everything. Bit of a contrast to DD1 who was pretty stationary!

glorious · 14/04/2016 21:45

No way, she can't be one! That's mad! I remember you talking about your DD1 being quite a late mover, just like my DD was. Not that you could tell now...

Thanks! I'm getting a bit terrified at the idea of the new job now actually but I now don't have to do anything for a bit except prepare my interview presentation for the first week in May. We sold our house in a week so yeah, we're not too far off exchanging I think.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 15/04/2016 07:05

Hi Tugs, lovely to hear from you. Where has a whole year gone? Funny how different they can be.

I'm 20 weeks now. Had my scan yesterday and sonographer is pretty sure it's a girl. DS was desperate for a sister so that was a relief!

CutYourHairAndGetAJob · 22/04/2016 19:08

Hi all, congratulations on your girl cupcakes and glad you are feeling a bit better.

glorious good luck with the job interview.

Belated happy birthday to babytugs

We're doing OK, ds is five months old now. He is quite cranky a lot of the time and a much harder baby than I remember dd ever being. He still hates being put down for longer than a few minutes at a time and whinges if he isn't getting constant entertainment. I think - hope - he will be happier when he gets mobile and can do more things.

Dd went through a really difficult phase when ds was first born but touch wood she has been better recently. She has become so grown up recently, I think she plays with the older girls a lot at nursery. She likes helping me with the baby and is actually quite good at keeping him entertained. She knows her own mind these days and she always knows better than mummy!

meringue33 · 09/05/2016 08:46

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing good, it is very quiet isn't it!

We are on hols with MIL, it has been the best holiday ever as really needed it, been a bit of a rubbish year since my best friend died in January.

DD just had her first birthday too! Unbelievable how quickly it has gone this time.

Glorious did you go for the semi in the end? It looks gorgeous. Cambridge is such a lovely place I used to spend a lot of time there on business.

Cupcakes hope the HG has eased. I can recommend the parenting book "The Incredible Years", it's really good. Have been referring to it a lot recently as DS can seriously act up at times! When DH & I relax and follow the suggestions it goes a lot more smoothly.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 09/05/2016 11:45

Hello hello!

CutYourHair I'm dreading those early months again - DS was a NIGHTMARE until he got mobile too! I'm really hoping for an easier time of it this time but who knows.

meringue the holiday sounds lovely - hope it's nice and sunny where you are! Thank you for the book recommendation. I realised the other day I have over a dozen books on dog behaviour but not a single one about parenting. Blush. So I really do need to stock up.

Has anybody else started thinking about schools yet? Some of the ones around here have their open days over the summer so we need to start keeping an eye out. Scary thought!

MavolioBent · 09/05/2016 22:00

Hey all

Cupcakes hopefully you will get an easier baby this time. They are all so different!

Meringue sounds like a lovely holiday. Can't believe how fast time goes either.

Cupcakes ivy will be starting in the nursery at her eventual school in September so that's all sorted. We are in catchment with sibling priority. Bit mad to think all our babies will be going to school soon Shock Wierdly am also applying for ds2 to go to secondary school at the same time. Wish they would all just slow down...

CutYourHairAndGetAJob · 17/05/2016 20:28

Glad you had a lovely holiday meringue, but I'm sorry to hear about your friend . we've just got back from a week in Cornwall which was great fun but not really relaxing with two kids in tow.

We're vaguely thinking about schools although I have my head in the sand about it a bit. I know the local schools are mostly supposed to be OK so it should be fine.

Ds is just six months so we're starting weaning again. Going baby led again because it worked well with dd. Today he got a bit of pineapple in his mouth, he was very happy.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 21/05/2016 11:11

Cut yeah, holiday's aren't quite the same when you've got little ones, are they? unless you're my DH in which case you get to have an actual break

We are in the throes of chicken pox at the moment. Urgh. Desperately trying to convince DS to stop watching TV but he's having none of it. It's either TV or tantrums. I know which I prefer.

CutYourHairAndGetAJob · 15/07/2016 19:37

Hello, how is everyone getting on. I can't believe our little ones are three and a half now!

We're doing well, baby ds is finally calming down a bit and has gone from nightmare clingy baby to smiley happy baby touch wood it lasts. He's still constantly attached to my boob though. Dd loves him now he is a bit more interesting too.

Cupcakes when is your baby due?

Glorious have you moved yet?

meringue33 · 17/07/2016 20:18

Ok have completely lost the plot with name changes now! Cut can you tell me your original name?

We've had a massive house renovation. Had to move out for about ten weeks and we've just moved back in today. House is looking good but there's still loads of snags/ outstanding bits to do. And despite a deep clean which cost an arm and a leg, it's still filthy!

Don't think I have ever been so tired!

CutYourHairAndGetAJob · 19/07/2016 09:18

Sorry meringue, I was snozberrypie! House renovation sounds difficult but hopefully worth it for the end result.

We are having a loft conversion done this autumn, not looking forward to it but it will be great to have the extra space

meringue33 · 21/07/2016 20:44

Oh hi snoz!! Yes hopefully when all done and dusted (literally) we can look at it with joy. Good luck with the loft conversion. Who knew that babies require so much space?!

Blink1982 · 12/08/2016 01:02

Hi all!! Hope you're all good. Can't belive we have to start school hunting soon 😮I want to see how grown up they all look now so please post some pictures

January 2013 - my do it on my own!
user1470795117 · 13/08/2016 10:10

Oh my gosh Blink look at him!! So grown up. Will post a pic of DS later, can't seem to do it on my phone. I'm currently in hospital cradling his new baby sister - not looking forward to getting back to those sleepless nights!!

I've had some issues with account etc hence starting afresh. Must come up with a decent name! Pm me if you want to know my old username.

MavolioBent · 14/08/2016 23:02

Wow Blink so grown up! Where did our babies go?!

Congrats user Flowers a lovely squishy new baby!

Ivy is starting at the nursery at my older dc school in Sept and she will go there next year so school needs no effort here. It's my ds2 last year as well Confused

Will try to put a, pic up of Ivy.
