Grin he has a mountain of train stuff already. And his brothers old scooter, and a balance bike. I'm trying to hive off the old ride ons. I don't need more wheels in this house.

But he did look so cute pretend-skating up the aisles...

Hope you're doing ok Glorious, sounds like it's been a scary few weeks.

I am struggling here. Just had two lovely weeks with my parents being spoiled. Back home now and coping with the two of them on my own. DH great but out of the house 8am-6.30pm. Seriously sleep deprived which makes me feel horribly anxious :(

Ugh scarlet fever. On a good note hes using the loo when hes nappyless. Going to put a stairgate on his room cos im sick of him taking over the bed, i get no sleep :( might wait til hes better though.

Hows everyone else tackling loo training? We arent really doing anything but plonking a potty in the front room and taking his nappy off

Toddler skates?! You are far braver than me!

I'm ok thanks, still not got to the bottom of things but doing fine.

Lovely to hear from you salt.

Scarlet fever SadWine Hope he's not too bad.

I have a solo overnight work trip to Blackpool next week, I'm hoping it's sunny enough for a walk/swim I'm the early evening or morning.

Yay I found you all!

Glad you're ok Glorious :)

Meringue sorry you're struggling Flowers Brew Wine Cake It's bloody hard looking after two small children, especially if you're doing it largely on your own during the week. And sleep deprivation makes everything worse. Be kind to yourself and don't try to do too much. Do you get a bit of a break at the weekend?

I've been finding DD1 really challenging lately, and find myself shouting a lot which I really hate. Is it bad that I'm looking forward to her starting preschool next week? Blush

Lovely to hear from your Salt and good to see you too Blink.

Hope everyone's ok :)

Sorry meringue, I missed that bit of your post. Does DH give you some time at the weekend? Sounds like you need a rest. Otherwise lower all your standards and do what you need to get by.

Tugs I'm sorry DD1 is hard work at the moment. It must be very tricky with the two of them. Hopefully pre school will help both of you and you will have more energy for the rest of the time. E is pretty good really but sometimes I get to the end of my tether too and I only have one

Morning everyone. There was a hoar frost first thing this morning Shock Autumn’s on the way…

Tugs Not bad at all I’m the same Blush - DS1 starts school next week and Dan starts preschool the week after GrinGrinGrin!!

Meringue I remember the toddler and baby days. They are HARD. I found breaking the day up into smaller chunks helped, and having a plan. A day without a plan is horrendous.

Dan’s sporting a lovely cut lip and bruise this morning after they were mucking about in a slippery wet bathroom last night Hmm

Hope Dex feels better soon Blink Scarlet fever sounds rubbish. Potty training is fairly non-existent still, he asks for a wee on the loo at bath/bedtime but is uninterested otherwise. He has started telling me he's done a poo so thats a step forward.

Nice to see you Salt how are you and DD doing?

Brr it is all autumnal isn't it. Feels better that it's at least September now...

We had a good if bust bank holiday weekend with friends in Yorkshire. Two toddlers and a newborn (theirs obviously!). I'm not sure I'm cut our for two children...

It must be nearly the big day for starting school and pre school. Is everyone excited?

Love it Off to the woods to get all muddy this morning. First day of school is tomorrow. I've been organising DS1's drawers so the uniform is all shiny and neat (won't stay that good for long).

Love the new name Mr Bent Grin

Thank you rat :)

Is ds1 excited for tomorrow?

Ivy has been moved to a bed! She had to have a bed on holiday so when we got back we put up the old toddler bed. We were expecting messing about but she has settled down every night so far Shock

Report
RatOnnaStick · 02/09/2015 12:10

Very excited yes. So am I. Brilliant news re the bed, its nice not having to heft in and out of the cot anymore.

We had a humdinger of a thunderstorm on saturday night, it woke Dan as the lightning was showing through his curtain and blind and the thunder was really loud. It kept coming round and round and he wouldn't go back to sleep at all. He kept saying it was a "vewy wobbyey storm" over and over (very wobbly). It was a good description.

How were all the first days? DD1 enjoyed her first day at preschool, despite being whacked in the face by a little boy Hmm Her little friend from next door but one was there too so that helped. And she didn't wet herself which is a bonus! I had a small tear in my eye when I left but soon got over it Grin

Yes it's gone ridiculously autumnal and cold. Heating went on yesterday.

Ds1 seemed to enjoy it. So far he seems happy. I miss him when I have to pick the other 2 up from his old school :( it's so Wierd that he's not there too

Rat hope ds1 enjoyed his first days too.

Ooh hope Dan and Dexter are better now, and all the new preschoolers and schoolies are enjoying it!

Have engaged the services of a "Mothers Help" (something I read about on MN), she is going to come for six hours a week starting next week I can't wait!

Like you Tugs I am finding DC1 a nightmare: poor little sausage it isn't his fault his mum is suddenly otherwise occupied! And DC2 is a very serene baby but she never sleeps! Today she has napped for 45 mins that's it!!!! I am knackered and my house is a tip.

Hi all!

I was stuck in deepest darkest Wales when Jeffrey hit and somehow failed to sort out password reset etc when I got back - have finally managed it now though (inspired by a Playmobil thread in chat). Lovely to read all of your updates.

Meringue Mother's help sounds lovely! What will she / he do? You're on your own with them for such a long time, I'd find that impossible! House being a tip DOES NOT MATTER.

Blink how is Dexter?

Loving the wobbly storm! And glad everybody seems to be enjoying schools / preschools.

My friend has just submitted her DD's application for schoold next year - that'll be us in 12 months time! Very scary thought.

DS has pretty much dropped his afternoon nap now. I shall miss my peaceful afternoons pottering around the house!

Hello Cupcakes, nice to see you back. Its been a good first few days. DS1 loves school, only mornings til 21st September though so I'm going backwards and forwards all over the day taking and fetching. I'm busy sorting his birthday out on friday. Nice that he has the afternoon off.

Dan started preschool on monday morning bright and early. He threw a nice little wobbler at the doorway lying full stretch shouting "I don't want to go!" and blocking everyone else Grin so I shovelled him under my arm and gave him to his key teacher (who he actually knows quite well anyway) who whisked him away to paint. I shouted "See you at lunchtime!" from the door and legged it quick to take DS1 to school. He thought it was funny.

When I picked him up he had a soaking wet jumper, red paint in his hair, a bloody scratch on his elbow where he'd collided with someone else on the slide, a great big grin and a general air of bloody cheek.

I think he likes it.

Bless Dan!

Cupcakes she's coming twice a week from 4-7pm. The theory is that she'll mind the kids while I sort dinner, or vice versa, we can then have more relaxed dinner and bathtime with two adults to wrangle them. DH is off on a business trip next week so I'm very glad we've got her!

DS is playing up something rotten at the minute and it's just such bloody hard work! Just back from a mini break in Chester and have resolved not to go anywhere further than a 20 min drive now until Christmas. It's not worth the hassle!

Found you again!

I've just been catching up with your news, I hope dexter is better and salt I hope you are OK.

Mother's help sounds fantastic!

I am feeling fat and pregnant but at 2 8 weeks hopefully still have a while to go. I had an appointment with a 'birth stories' midwife to talk about dds birth earlier in the week. It turned out to be really emotional as it brought back a lot of memories, but she said that I should hopefully have a quicker and less complicated birth this time as the things that went haywire aren't likely to happen again, so it was a positive appointment.

Dd is completely exhausting me at the moment, she is so full of energy and strong emotions that I can't keep up and have to have a little lie down while she watches cbeebies far too often. We had a bit of a scare last night when she nearly choked on an olive, it was proper silent choking and I had to flip her upside down and whack her back really hard to dislodge it.

On top of everything else my work place is being restructured and I start a new role next week. Roll on maternity leave!

Wow Snozz 28 weeks already?! That must have been scary with dd, hope she is OK now.

Ivy hard work at the moment. She's learning so much new stuff and bored easily. It's lovely and I'm enjoying her but sometime I'm exhausted and counting down to next Sept when she goes to nursery! !

Ds1 has settled well so far into his new school, he seems far to grown up now though. 12 in a few weeks!
