Sadly our thread died a death after a really good antenatal one, even if we finish now lets hear how everyone is, any plans for anymore, I know some people are expecting already, remind us about your family...
Me first, I was hereshoping on the ttc after miscarriage but then became rosylizzie, an amalgam of my two dds names My baby roisin was born 19 Dec, joining 2 brothers now 9 and 8 and a sister of 5. I had an anxious pg as she had a soft marker so missed the antenatal thread some of the time.

She has been an utter joy, the relationship with her siblings the best part. Yes life is busy but great. We have also moved house this year.
She is crawling and cruising and trying to say her siblings names
She has copper hair and brown eyes like her sister
Not currently expecting though ones of our dogs is! but quite tempted by another though have spent all year trying to talk myself out of it
Come on everyone!! Lets hear from you all!!

Ooohhhh ei please get straight back on here when you know the result.

Good luck

scully · 10/01/2007 06:32

Fingers crossed ei! Hope Lucas is ok sh, and you too, as ei said, accidents happen and at this age they are constantly into things and places they shouldn't be and are very quick as well to appear and disappear! Madeleine has constant bruises on her forehead as the house we are renting here is completely tiled, plus she likes to climb as well as perfect her walking
Am taking her to be checked out next Monday as I think there is a problem with her right eye, it doesn't seem to focus where it should, when she is looking at her. Could possibly be a condition called 'lazy eye', but hoping it's nothing more serious.
And Flutter, George knows more words than Madeleine, she chatters away but nothing really recognisable and she'll be 13mths on the 25th Jan. Should I be concerned? dd1 was at nursery 4 days a week by this age, so I think that is why her speech has always been good for her age, with the constant interaction.

ei24 · 10/01/2007 19:30

hey ladies!
well i did a test and it was a -ve but i still havent come on or anythin! im now 8 days late so i dont no whats goin on! anywho... i had to take sian to the gp again yesterday and her persistent cough has now turned out to be asthma which i had suggested to th gp ages ago and he practically laughed at me as if it was a ridiculous idea!! th effin a-hole!! my poor little sweetie has had to suffer his incompetence for nearly 4 months and now hes finally pulled his finger out and given her inhalers she seems 10 times better with her cough at night and she even seems a bit clearer durin the day so i think i was right!!
anywho how is everyone?? and their babies?? and familys??
love ei xx

scully · 17/01/2007 12:27

So anymore news ei?? It's good you're noticing a difference with Sian and her inhaler, although it can be difficult to diagnose asthma when they are still babies. I took dd2 to the doctor on Monday and she has been referred to an Ophthalmologist to check her right eye not focusing properly. Hoping that we won't have to wait too long for an appt and they can rule out anything serious.

Nemo2007 · 17/01/2007 22:49

Ei any news on the test???? Also re sian and asthma did gp only give a reliever inhaler?? Only asking as we were told Hannah had asthma when she was 6mths but they wont give a preventor inhaler due to her lungs not being developed enough so we have to wait until she is 2 and that is under alder hey.

hope veryone else is ok sorry no personals.

Jus tin case you dont know I had Chloe Alexandra on the 5th jan weighing 6lb14ozs. Thought we were complete as a family but already that niggling of wanting more has kicked in!!!!! Obviously be leaving a bit of a bigger gap if we have more but I do hope it stops soon as otherwise I will have a football team..pmsl

Jaysecond · 18/01/2007 21:34

Hi there, dont know if anyone remembers me, i was jaysfirst when i was on the Due in Dec 06 thread, i had my daughter Harriette on Jan 3, but i alwasy stuck with you guys for the postnatel, i kinda got waylaid though what with one thing and another and even forgot about this thread can i ever be forgiven! Anyway i am currently on the Due in March 07 thread and have been only managing to post on there sporadically. I am due on 9th March and this time i know i am having a boy.

Harriette is a star, like all the others i am sure, she has six teeth with her 7th and 8th on their way through, shes been walking unaided and climbing stairs since about 11 months which has been a killer for me as i have been having to chase her about so much, oh how i wish back for the days when i was pregnant the first time and i could rest and sleep when i wanted!!! But anyhow i wouldnt change her for the world, shes a constant source or amazment and is intrested in EVERYTHING. See pics here if you like. Shes sleeping form 630 till 8 most nights and eats everything and anything. I am starting to thin i have got away with things lightly with her and her little brother is going to be a nightmare!!!

I have read a lot of the messages and i am Sorry i havnt posted individual messages but i hope all of you and your lil ones are well and congrats to those who are pregnant again, i will endevour to come on more often now i have rediscovered you all!!

Hugs xx

scully · 20/01/2007 12:00

we're still contemplating no.3, just wanting to be a bit more settled back here in Australia first. dd1 and dd2 seem to really enjoy it here, and dd1 especially loves living near her extended family for the first time, which is lovely to watch.
And welcome back Jaysecond! Harriette's pictures are gorgeous, hard to believe how big they are all getting

ei24 · 22/01/2007 12:47

bonkerz · 26/01/2007 22:29

hi all,
Just thought id update while i have a few minutes!!! Life is hectic here!!
Alex-Leigh is teething the dreaded back teeth and kept us awake last night for hours with her screaming! am absolutely shattered!
Walking is sorted! Can hardly keep her in her buggy and she loves to toddle around showing everyone how clever she is! Words are coming thick and fast.....her vocabulary consists of Juice, Dog, Dad, Mama, Again, bed, bath, duck, there, this, that and various other toned grunts with pointy finger to indicate what she wants! She is a real madam and is definately going to be a handful BUT she is also an absolute delight when she does her kisses and pats on the back for cuddles.
Am officially trying for Number 3 now too, if things go as planned (which they never do) we plan to concieve ASAP and i will give up childminding from 28 weeks pregnant to become a PROPER full time stay at home mum!!!! well thats the plan!!!!
Hope you are all well.
Nemo: hows life with your new baby girl?
Jays: hows the pregnancy going? looking forward to having a son?
Scully: did you have a good Australia Day? Am very jealous of you being there.
Ei: glad the inhaler is working for Sian. My DS was diagnosed with asthma at 8 months but i had to fight for the inhaler. Thankfully he seems to have outgrown it now.
Sweetheart: how Lucus now? Alex-Leigh is constantly getting under my feet in the kitchen and i almost fell over her the other day carrying cooked veg to sink to drain them.....These things happen so easily. Hope you are ok.
DQ: how are you all?
rosylizzie: how are you doing now then? you cant start a thread and then not post!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kangel: hows the childminding going? im a childminder too (you probably know that though) and now i have Alex-Leigh i really want to just concentrate on her!
Hi to george and evreyone else too....................................

sweetheart · 06/02/2007 21:13

Hello everyone,

I hope your all doing well with you bubs - can't believe some of you are onto the next ones!

Things here are pretty good - Lucas is absolutly fine after our little accident and continues to be the apple of my eye along with his sister. His personality is growing every day although I think his speech is quite slow in coming. I have starting repeating words to him to get him to speak but he's having none of it. I think it's because he's spoilt rotten - he only has to point and grunt and he is given exactly what he wants.

I have been offered a big promotion at work which is brilliant long term. Short term it means I have to work an extra day which has been a really hard decision but I'm trying to consentrate on the positive sides. I will still have 3 days off a week which is more than I had when my dd was small and it should give us a secure future.

I really admire you SAHM's. I'd love to sideline the career side of myself but it keep rearing it's ugly head!

I hope you are all doing well - it would be great to hear from some of you again.
take care and lots of love to you all and your families.
SH xxx

scully · 07/02/2007 00:49

Congrats on the promotion sh, I'm having vague thoughts of returning to work, but as dd1 has just started school last week (prep, same as reception), and is still throwing some major tantrums as a result of feeling unsettled, I need to wait a bit longer I think. Also Madeleine is seeing an ophthalmologist in March as her right eye is turning in, started off being quite mild and not turning very often, now it's turned in pretty much all the time. So she'll likely need a patch &/or glasses, should be fun as she hates even wearing a hat
Otherwise all good here, nice and hot
dh has an interview for a permanent role where he has been contracting since November. Would be a fantastic opportunity so we've got everything crossed that it works out.
How is everyone else doing?

sweetheart · 07/02/2007 10:15

scully nice and hot

It's bloody minus 5 here - it took 20 mins to defrost my car this morning and over an hour later my toes are still frozen!

Can I come and live with you pleeeeeeeeeeeease!!!!!!!

It's great to hear that you are settling into your new life well. Don't worry about dd1 with school - she'll soon get used to it. Kids really know how to push you rbuttons don't they it will be a dim and distant memory soon, I promise!

scully · 16/02/2007 06:28

Sweetheart
Still nice and hot here although we have had a bit of rain this week, of course not falling in the right areas though so our dams are still below 30% capacity
Anyone else's little darling climbing onto everything? dd1 never did this, but dd2 thinks nothing of climbing onto beds, chairs, sofa, etc......

bonkerz · 20/02/2007 21:37

hows everyone?

all good here. Alex really pushing all boudries. Has a HUGE back tooth now, proper molar which explains the few night she has been awake, didnt even think of looking for molars!! New words all the time and really into books....CAT and SHOE are favorites at the moment and she like to point to all the cats and all the shoes in every book we own!!! WHAT FUN!!!
Trying for number 3 and am 3 days late this month so will keep a check on that, trying not to test and telling myself that i couldnt be lucky enough to fall this quickly!!!

kittypants · 20/02/2007 21:41

hello again i was moljam, posted lower down but changed name.thomas has discovered tantrums!hes becoming quite hard work, wheres my chilled dude gone?

sweetheart · 21/02/2007 10:54

Oh yes kitty - tantrums are a favourite in this house too - especially when it's time to get dressed! I have a "chilled out little dude" most of the time but recently he's had the devil in him! He def doesn't like to be told NO!

He's also starting touching everything and climbing! I went to get him out his cot yesterday morning and - he wasn't there!

He was standing on his window sill - behind the curtain. He'd climbed onto his cot top changer and onto his window still - I nearly had a heart attack. Needless to say his cot matress was lowered yesterday - such a litle monkey!

He was very cute yesterday. I have brought him new shoes for my sisters wedding next week. When I dropped him at my mums he climbed onto her lap, pulled up his trouser leg and wiggled his foot in her face as if to say "look at my smart new shoes grandma" SO CUTE! AAHHHHHHHHH

Scully - I hope it's getting colder over there for you

Nemo2007 · 22/02/2007 22:46

hi all
another climber here although ds was aswell. Hannah is now in her bed to stop the climbing of a night and no problems which surprises me, that girl loves her sleep toooo much. Chloe on the other hand doeasnt..sigh. Hannah also babbles away and has a couple of words her favourite being her own version of good girl "goo girrrr" and she then claps herself and says yayyyy. Also become baby obsessed although may be because of chloe I try to redirect hannah to her dolls which she cuddles says aww tries to feed then throws them on the floor..lol

Bonkerz fingers crossed hun, miss our chats we really need to catch up soon!!!

sweetheart congrates on the promotion

scully jealous of the weather...sigh

scully · 23/02/2007 02:47

Sorry ladies, still warm over here
Know what you mean Sweetheart, dd2 did the same thing to me yesterday, decided she would climb onto our single lounge chair, balance on the arm of it and look out the window and investigate the things we had on the window sill
Once she realised it was a good place to be, she must have climbed up there at least 20 times yesterday......
She'll be 14mths on Sunday, where has the time gone. Still not many distinguishable words but lots of chatter and understands everything we ask her to do (or not do!)
A mouth full of teeth as well, well over 10, can't count all of them as she won't let me
On a different note, dh should have a permanent job offer today, for the same employer he's been contracting at since we arrived back here 4mths ago. Yay, apart from having a great pension scheme, paid holidays, flexi time & a 20min drive from home to work, it also means we can think about no.3 now

Nemo2007 · 23/02/2007 11:55

aww excellent scully

Dh is at a job interview at the min as his job finished last month so been in a bit of trouble so fingers crossed he gets it today as it is his 30th tommorow and we are also having the girls christened on sunday!

scully · 25/02/2007 11:20

How did dh's interview go Nemo? dh received his formal job offer on Friday, so we've had a great weekend celebrating Spent today at friend's place who live on the Sunshine Coast, went to the beach for a swim, had a bbq for lunch, had pavlova for dessert, does it get any better
And the girls are exhausted and fast asleep

Nemo2007 · 27/02/2007 15:58

DH got the job, found out today which is such a relief. Had girls christened on sunday aswell and was dhs 30th on sat so busy weekend..lol

sweetheart · 27/02/2007 16:41

congrats to your dh's Nemo and scully.

Scully - everytime you post you make me more and more Your lifestyle sounds brilliant. i am def a summer person, I just love warm days on the beech and getting together with friends for a BBQ. I think I'd fit in perfectly in Aus! Shame we can't move all our family and friends over.

Had some bad news this week. Mil has been diagnosed with cancer

scully · 28/02/2007 00:42

That's awful news Sweetheart, what treatment have they recommended?
Congrats Nemo, it's a relief when things work out with jobs heh.
You would love it out here if you're a summer person SH, loads of English out here too, dd1 has 21 in her class, 2 of her friends have English parents.
We have UK friends visiting this week actually, a friend I work to with in London. Lovely to have a visitor after 4.5mths away.
Visiting the opthamalogist on Friday for dd2's turned in eye, fingers crossed it's nothing too serious.

GandWJ · 04/03/2007 11:05

Oh my goodness, where does the time go????
I've had a quick scan through and noticed that Nemo has even managed to have another baby! Wow, huge congratulations to you

Jake is fine, seems to be a bit lazy though compared to some of your lovely babies / toddlers (I don't want to stop calling them babies!). He crawls and says cat and quack quack but no walking or climbing or many teeth (he is stuck at 2 still).

Really hoping to keep posting this time. I say I'm going to and then vanish for 3 months! I promise to try harder

scully · 06/03/2007 00:02

Enjoy Jake not walking yet, he'll be into everything once he is.....
Took dd2 to the opthamalogist on Friday, he said that she is almost completely relying on her left eye for sight and hardly using her right eye at all (which is the eye which is turning in, like she is cross eyed). She is also very far sighted, so poor thing must really not be seeing things very clearly at all. So we have drops to put in her good eye for a month, to blur the vision in that eye, to try and force the right eye to start working again. We go back again in 6wks time and he'll run more tests and we'll go from there. She will amost certainly need a patch, glasses or both to try and correct the turned eye and vision problems over the next few years.
Glasses should be fun, she doesn't want to keep a hat on most of the time
So she's bumping into a lot of things this week, as she adjusts to trying to see from her right eye again, poor little thing, wish we could explain it to her.
