mopsytop · 23/05/2015 17:56

And that's a yes! Proud to be Irish today! ?? Smile ??

NorthernChinchilla · 23/05/2015 21:14

Absolutely mopsy it's fantastic Grin!
I'm so delighted it was such a landslide too; let's hope there will be a move towards generally becoming more liberal and accommodating.
Wish I were there for the party!

Figster · 23/05/2015 22:16

My lord how warm was it today!! Scorchio

We had a good day today ds only had 1 minor wig out when we were out then a big one at home he woke up from nap thirsty refused to drink just made noises rather than spoke so we had an epic battle to get him drinking he did in end but was hysterical by that point ..... Just wNt to scream when he's like that he wants a drink but because we are telling him to have one he won't GAH!!!

swung in past PIL they had a mini digger and mini dumper truck sorting out garden so ds was mega chuffed being allowed to "drive them".

We've inherited out friends 5yo this evening we were all supposed to go out for dinner but friend has ended up in hospital with high bp and she having a c section on Thursday they had thought they wouldn't be long so we had to make a bed for her in ds room found her a toothbrush etc hope ds snoring doesn't wake her up

Figster · 24/05/2015 06:04

Gah he went to bed at 10 and is up already this is not going to be a good day Hmm

Figster · 24/05/2015 08:27

How come I'm up with 2 kids and dh is in bed asleep still? Not fun!!

mopsytop · 24/05/2015 21:42

Did you wake him up and go back to bed figgy? If not, make sure you get to lie in tomorrow!

Four trips to tip today after massive clear up of all the junk accumulated in the garden after stripping wallpaper, replacing kitchen (dumping old one in garden) etc. Took all day but was SO worth it. My mother in law minded the kids all day which was so great as it was too daunting a job to tackle alone. Also managed between us to make homemade tagliatelle and rhubarb crumble and yesterday Mr Mopsy made amazing ragu and rhubarb vodka. So we got our reward for all our hard work with a yummy meal. Feeling rather stiff from lugging stuff around all day but very satisfied to have finally (after several months of messy junk) a clear garden. Yay. Now to actually do some gardening ... Shock

NorthernChinchilla · 25/05/2015 15:10

Did you get a lie in figster?

And that's some amazing work mopsy, love days like that!

I know there are some other Sir T fans on the thread, so you'll be glad to see Thanks as promised by MN.

Travelling back today, as nothing says bank holiday like six hours on the motorway....Hmm

Chips1999 · 25/05/2015 21:23

Wow sounds like you got lots done Mopsy, and your MIL sounds brilliant!

Eek I hope the journey home is smooth Northern, I don't envy you that drive!

DS had a taster football class at the weekend and enjoyed it, I loved watching him running around! We're going to sign up this week, it's a £30 one off registration fee and then £6 a week which is expensive but most childrens classes seem to be anything up to £10 a week. I think we will leave swimming lessons until he is 4 or 5 and carry on going as a family in the meantime.

mopsytop · 26/05/2015 16:37

Mopsyboy having his first settling in hour at nursery ??????????

Was on my way to coffee shop then thought feck that and came to my local for half a pint and a pack of crisps. Officially worst mother ever? I just thought if I'm going to spend an hour feeling upset and worrying about my little precious away from me for first time with strangers I might as well make the most of it. ??????

Chips1999 · 27/05/2015 10:13

Ahh I hope the session went well Mopsy and the half a pint and crisps sounds perfect!

I had a horrible day yesterday DD projectile vomited her morning feeds and had about 60mls for her afternoon feeds. Slept 8 hours last night (thank goodness) and seems fine this morning.

Figster · 27/05/2015 15:32

Weeeeeee we've booked out holiday 1st august I'll probably melt in the heat!! 7nights half board minus ds about which I'm Grin and Hmm in equal measure!! Looking forward to the holiday but not being without him.

My dad's in hospital with pneumonia he's just back from Thailand has picked up something he's ok but being 500 miles away from them gets hard at times like this.

Hope dd ok now chip!!

PartTimeProcrastinator · 28/05/2015 08:38

Hope your Dad is on the mend soon figster.

Just off out for breakfast with DS then dropping him to MIL for the day. Going into London to see Miss Saigon and do a bit of shopping, can't wait! I can't remember the last time I had a whole day to myselfSmile

Aethelfleda · 28/05/2015 09:45

Hi everyone

That sounds great fun PTP, enjoy every moment!

I'm sending good-luck-vibes to all you ladies TTC. Me, I had "fun" the other day when I had a few days of minor nausea from a cold (grr) and helpful DH suggested it might be morning sicknness... Reader, I nearly thwapped him with the nearest !...,

I 'm just coming to the end of four weeks of less-work, and now back to "normal" from next week. Pity the to-do list is just as enormous!...we did get our radiators thermostatted, and hopefully taking the plunge and getting our gutters and soffits replaced next week (it's scary because it's £££ and we're using a builder in conjunction with our neighbour, quote was good value but until it's done there's always that uncertainty factor. It really needs doing though. Gah for being a grown-up-ish home owner!

mopsytop · 29/05/2015 14:22

Hope you'd a fab time PTP!

Aethel, I hate having to spend £££ on things like gutters. So expensive and necessary but you don't get any feeling of enjoyment from it! At least decorating gives you enjoyment from your money...

NorthernChinchilla · 30/05/2015 10:33

My Mum recently had her gutters and soffits done aethel and I couldn't believe the price! How the hell can it be so expensive? She really resented the cost too.
Mind you, there was a small bequest to me in my Gran's will, and am thinking about using it to get a combi boiler installed. The excitement of being a home owner Hmm

Finally got a quiet weekend, but have jobs to do. Had one leaving do this week that was civilised but late, and I've got another next Friday that has the potential to be a bit wild. Good to get a few nights out though, as hopefully I won't have that option soon!

How did the settling in go mopsy? Do both you and the boy like the nursery?

NorthernChinchilla · 30/05/2015 10:34

Sorry, how is your Dad figster, pneumonia can be nasty?

Figster · 30/05/2015 17:11

He's fine out of hospital at the pub today on the soft stuff only for next 6 weeks!!

Been out last night for dinner stayed at in laws, today been out walking in the country, left ds with PIL to go See new avengers now off for a BBQ with neighbours. Ds was caught drawing on the PIL hall wall with crayon managed to get it off it boy was he shouted at AngryAngryAngry

mopsytop · 01/06/2015 19:42

Lashing rain and freezing here. Skylight leaking badly (original Victorian so not surprising) and bloody gutters over kitchen door cascading water so I fear we will be digging into our (ever depleting, almost exhausted) savings for similar work to yours Aethel.

How the hell is it June? It is freezing aside from lashing rain and howling wind. More like November or February ... HmmHmmHmm

Glad your dad is ok Figgy

Figster · 02/06/2015 08:15

Weather hellish here too the winter tights and coat are back out

NorthernChinchilla · 03/06/2015 09:02

God yes, it was thick tights and coat for me too. Today is at least vaguely pleasant.

Just to run something past you folks.... let's say if you'd had a miserable mmc, then your Gran had died, and you'd said to your partner that you really needed a little UK holiday and you'd pay, and your partner had refused as ever as he doesn't like holidays...
....and then out of the blue he'd said he may be going to Bruges with his Dad, but was a bit concerned that at the point he went away I may be pregnant/even miscarry again....
...but the a few days later say he's going and here's a list of dates....

Would you be upset? Sad

Figster · 03/06/2015 09:03

Bought ds a pair of avengers pjs last week he wanted them in the shop then decided when he got home he wouldn't wear them as had the hulk on them and "he was worried about the hulk". Ffwd to today when tell him I'm taking them back and he's decided he has changed his mind about that the hulk is now good.

Irrational much!!

PartTimeProcrastinator · 03/06/2015 09:36

I think that's very good reason to be upset Northern. He needs to rethink that a bit. Do you think there is anywhere UK he'd feel ok going so you could all get away for a few days?

DP has managed to get himself a lovely cycling related giant abscess and we're at the hospital waiting for him to go into surgery. He's never had general anesthetic before so is quite nervous.

mopsytop · 03/06/2015 10:35

I'd be well annoyed Northern. But also (not an excuse though) he might just not realise how his actions look. He might just be being thoughtless and just need to be told straight up that his actions are really selfish and thoughtless. ??

Aethelfleda · 03/06/2015 10:57

Northern. We've been here before. You know what to do.

Aethelfleda · 03/06/2015 10:58

And good luck MrPTP: he'll feel SO much better when it's cleared out...
