OMG Northern. You poor thing. Talk about an utterly utterly shite couple of months. HmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmm I hope things improve after this.

Figster · 05/05/2015 16:01

Well it has taken seven weeks but it has finally happened DS has realised that he hasn't been to his childminders for ages and wants to go Hmm every day he asks can he go tomorrow Hmm can he see (lists off her kids names)? Hmm

Keep saying to him he's a big boy now and going to preschool but it's making me so sad for him Sad

NorthernChinchilla · 05/05/2015 20:34

That's sad that he's missing them figgy, and how funny he's suddenly started. You'd hope the friendship woes would wait until at least primary school!

Well, I managed to fit a day's work into half a day, then went and bought half the shop.... As we don't have any friends/family locally, if DP needs something and we don't have it, he's done for til Sunday Confused !

Now having a gin, and hoping DS has a better night tonight.....

Aethelfleda · 05/05/2015 23:14

It's paperwork and spring cleaning week. In theory. The DC loved our weekend away in Dorset (re enactment event) but I have had a LOT of people asking me if we're planning a number 4! No, people, I am too old and wrinkly, another child would be doom for my pelvic floor, my sanity and my career!!

mopsytop · 06/05/2015 08:05

I feel the same aethel and I only have two!

Aethelfleda · 08/05/2015 08:42

Helloo? Hope everyone's ok out there....

You asked about tyel, Northern, she's her usual awesome self. Her DS is an intelligent blonde moppet, and we still meet up regularly when we both get the chance, work and kids permitting!

mopsytop · 08/05/2015 11:29

Minimopsy has had a temp for five days. Finally perking up. Was over 40 most of mon-wed so relieved she seems to be improving finally.

Mopsyboy on antibiotics for horribly bad excema.

I've had very interrupted sleep all week and am very tired and getting cabin fever from being stuck at home.

Utterly disgusted with the outcome of the election.

All in all roll on the weekend.

Hope all ok with you all, esp Northern x

PartTimeProcrastinator · 08/05/2015 18:44

House full of lurgy here too. Currently watching Thomas the Tank Engine and sharing a giant bag of magic stars with DS as I feel rotten and just need him to stay still! Parenting at its finest Grin

Figster · 09/05/2015 09:40

More snot filled misery here ds fine he's watching despicable me we must rally or he will want to watch tv all day.....must rally.......must zzzzz

Ds had his 3yo4mi jabs yesterday didn't even look up from them brave fella

NorthernChinchilla · 09/05/2015 18:07

Travelling back now, to see my boys after their confinement.
Funeral went well- DFiL got us there and back smoothly, actual ceremony bob on, little gathering afterwards really pleasant. The venue was lovely, and if I were planning to get married in the Midlands I'd choose it! Had been good to be able to spend a couple of days with my Mum too.

Now will be a day of getting on top of housework, etc, and then please Bob back to something approaching normal.
No lurgy here, though the woman next to me is sniffing horribly, and it's too PA to pass her a tissue and glare....Wink

NorthernChinchilla · 09/05/2015 18:09

She and her germs just got off! Grin

mopsytop · 09/05/2015 22:49

Glad all went ok Northern.

Just went and gazed at my sleeping baby boy. The cuteness! They are so beautiful at this age! Little clenched fists and frog legs.

Minimopsy snoring in my bed. Finally on the mend after five days of 40+ temps, thank goodness. Was an anxious time. Hate high temps and miserable kids, it makes me a) nervous and b) so sorry for my poor little sick bean.

So here is to next week being better than this one! After those election results I hope it is ... !!???????? needed really to get over the disappointment of five years more Tory bullshit.

Aethelfleda · 09/05/2015 23:20

I have several friends who are in academia and the general post-election gloom is because we can all see their funding heading down the swannee.... Not to mention the likely cuts in social support, healthcare and teaching. I think you can surmise my political leanings, and they ain't Tory....

Had a lovely picnic meetup with plu and tyel and assorted blokes and children today. T'was great, we should do a more central London one at some point, Plu wondered about Waterloo as a meet point for people as it is central for both East and West london... All we need is sushi or a Chinese buffet and I'd be totally up for it!...

mopsytop · 10/05/2015 09:50

As an academic I feel their pain. A potentially soon-to-be-unemployed academic.

In happier news Minimopsy is on the mend and we are off on a picnic! Fingers crossed it doesn't rain...

Figster · 10/05/2015 16:27

Been doing numbers with ds this afternoon he's hopeless won't listen was v frustrating now playing with Green playdoh which is very messy bloody knackered today!!

mopsytop · 10/05/2015 17:35

Going to bake tomo with Minimopsy ... Any good recipes for toddlers to enjoy? Sick of biscuits!

PartTimeProcrastinator · 10/05/2015 21:07

I'm not much of a baker mopsy so DS and I tend to stick to the character mixes you can buy, they suit his attention span about now. Particularly fond of the peppa pig muddy puddle decorations!

Ah I'm sure he'll get there soon Figster, they are still so little plenty of time for numbers and counting when they hit school. DS has most car symbols down and can recognise an Audi from a mile off, but numbers not so muchGrin

Lovely weekend finished off with a bike ride and picnic this afternoon. Its really made me smile watching DS chasing DSS about on their bikes. Not quite sure when he got so grown up, I even managed to get half an hour peace to read a book in the garden today as the boys were both playing quietly in their rooms.

NorthernChinchilla · 10/05/2015 21:32

To be honest mopsy I've just got DS to join in whatever I'm cooking, so he's made all sorts! He seems to love the actual cooking and isn't bothered by the end product. Give it a go, it's an awesome way to combine entertaining a toddler and getting a job done Grin
Otherwise I think it's the law you have to make chocolate rice crispie cakes....

Love that he can recognise an Audi and all the other badges PTP, that's brilliant Smile

Back to work tomorrow, only problem is a grumbling wisdom tooth that I'm going to ignore until it's better.

mopsytop · 10/05/2015 21:48

Thanks guys. I'm thinking bread rolls of some description... She has been ills all week and barely eaten. Maybe if we make some bread she will want to eat it! ??????

mopsytop · 10/05/2015 21:50

Oh and anbesol for the wisdom tooth Northern! It works for the babbies after all Grin or whisky if no anbesol on hand! (To dab on tooth although I guess drinking if would help too

mopsytop · 10/05/2015 21:51

Obviously I only ever use anbesol on the babies !!!!!!!!

Aethelfleda · 10/05/2015 22:16

Pizza! If you're not up to making dough then cheat with a ready made base, but it's easy to google pizza dough recipes. Top with whatever she likes eating (tomato passata, tuna, sweetcorn, mushrooms, ham, chicken bits and lots of grated cheese) and then eat! Toddlers LOVE being able to top their own pizza.

mopsytop · 11/05/2015 16:09

Good idea aethel! We went out to meet a friend instead but will try that on Friday I think! Minimopsy ate a whole sandwich in about three minutes at lunch. I think she's defs on the mend!!!

NorthernChinchilla · 12/05/2015 09:12

Glad she's better mopsy, and let's hope that we're now all past the lurgy stage for the year

Had major set to with DS last night, just awful. He's grand 95% of the time, it's just the 5% when he's gotten over tired before bed, and he can just get vicious. Really upsets me, and I did NOT handle it well last night because I'm so bloody worn out. Sigh.

Figster · 13/05/2015 15:22

Lovely weather today having Abba when get home Grin

AF started today Hmm so that was my 4th cycle ttc with no luck I know it's nothing but at 34 and a reluctant 40yo dh am starting to get frustrated which I know won't help either. Ds took 6 bloody weeks which almost makes it worse.
