Of course we having a BBQ later not a Scandinavian pop group

Aethelfleda · 13/05/2015 16:09

Lovely weather here too. Made a killing selling PTA lollies in the school playground, it's a fab fundraiser if the PTA has a small chest freezer and someone with time to take an Iceland delivery! (Buy 6 for a £ and flog at 50p each.)
The PTA here is organised so all I need is to pitch up and help. Fab.

Aethelfleda · 13/05/2015 16:11

And sympathies figgy, just keep on throwing that dice...

NorthernChinchilla · 13/05/2015 17:56

That made me Grin about ABBA, cracking typo. There was someone on this thread whose phone hated them and was always doing things like that, can't remember who...

Sympathies figgy, know how you feel- I conceived on the second cycle too, both times, and so I'm irrationally pinning my hopes on the second cycle this time round too. Which is now. And I don't think it'll work.... Sad

mopsytop · 13/05/2015 18:16

Good luck both. Hope this month is the lucky month.

It is tantrum central here. I'm so tired still after last week. Finding it hard to stay calm. No Bing tonight after not holding my hand when crossing roads and running away down the road and not listening when I said stop. Then having a major tantrum when we got home and pushing Mr Mopsy. She seems to understand why at least and has calmed down now. But boy is it hard work. Hmm She's happy all day at nursery and then I get all the bad mood after it.

mopsytop · 13/05/2015 18:17

So I v much sympathise with your little one's strop last night Northern!!

mopsytop · 14/05/2015 13:12

New kitchen going on ... Excited! Looks fab so far. Less thrilled that to pay for it I had to empty my ISA. I know that's what savings are for and it will be SO worth it (kitchen that was there was horrendous) but bit scary too...

mopsytop · 15/05/2015 18:49

Happy Friday everyone! I'm going out with some girlfriends. Whoop! ??????

mopsytop · 16/05/2015 22:14

Just signed up for a 10k in September and another in October. Eeek!

Where is everyone? I've killed the thread again HmmHmmHmmHmm

NorthernChinchilla · 17/05/2015 11:10

Hello! Not disappeared, just crazy busy with work. I surprised DP for his birthday and arranged and psid for a baby sitter and booked a restaurant, and only gave him the card lunchtime yesterday, so we're recovering slightly Grin

In toddler news, we're trying everything to get DS pooing on the toilet again. He's now obsessed, and pulls DP off the loo "so my can look at your lovely poo Dada?"
Confused

GladysTheGolem · 17/05/2015 12:46

Gary/Horse here. House is almost finished downstairs. Garden and upstairs a tip still.

DD is sitting up!
DS2 is going to be potty training during half term (he's 2 in July)
DS1 is a an irritating, adorable, wonderful frustrating enigma! Thread title sums him up!

Mopsy well done on the 10ks! I'm aiming to do Parkrun the week after next, that's as far as I run Smile

Figster · 17/05/2015 18:50

I am here frustrated with ds and his weekend ruining behaviour and tantrums he's so changeable And irrational drives me mad.

Thinking of booking a holiday in august mad time of year to go but it's basically 1st august or nothing due to circumstances ds staying with my mum Grin if it happens extreme action required must lose 10lbs before it happens. Bet I'll get pg the minute it's booked

Other news dh quit his job im actually fine about it he's going to he there until end of July anyway plenty time to look for something else.

NorthernChinchilla · 18/05/2015 09:12

Joining you on the Sad figster, as predicted this month didn't work out and AF has started, so feeling glum.
Next cycle here we come.....

mopsytop · 18/05/2015 20:19

I hope next month brings better luck both.

PartTimeProcrastinator · 19/05/2015 09:28

Hope next month is better for you both TTC. I am very broody at the moment, but DP not keen.

DS came out with this last night after reading guess how much I love you.

DS: Mummy I don't love you to the moon and back. It's too windy for my love out there. I can love you in the house though.

Really made me smile.

Figster · 19/05/2015 16:55

Ptp Grin so cute!!

8th wedding anniversary today mid week anniversaries. Pah although PIL are round so we can go out for dinner

NorthernChinchilla · 19/05/2015 22:42

Very cute PTP, nor had anything like that from my DS!

Happy Anniversary figster, have fun.
We've got DP's birthday tomorrow, but had to cancel the day off as I have too much bloody work... will meet him for lunch though.

Chips1999 · 20/05/2015 18:04

Hello all Smile

Just checking in, DS had his jabs today (a month late as they forgot to send him an appointment through!). He was really good, only cried for a minute. I think it helped that he saw DD have hers last month!

DS is booked in for a taster football lesson at the weekend...eek! I'm nervous in case he hates it, but the man running it sounds very down to earth and says they get parents involved so the children should join in too!

I think I might start him on swimming lessons when he's 4 or 5. I don't think he's got the confidence to go in the pool without me or DH. My friends little girl is the same age and just dives straight in! Hopefully the football will build his confidence, he is good at physical stuff.

Happy anniversary Figgy!

Hope you have a lovely lunch Northern even if you can't take the whole day off.

mopsytop · 20/05/2015 20:16

We haven't even had letter for minimopsy's jabs and she's 3 and 5 months now!

Chips1999 · 21/05/2015 02:40

I just phoned the doctors and booked an appointment with the nurse Mopsy as DS never had a letter.

Figster · 21/05/2015 08:16

another morning of ds refusing to get dressed screaming whining refusing to walk or eat his breakfast until 5 minutes before I had to go to work dh raging angry and said he wished he'd never had him, ds hysterical because we've taken his favourite toys away for being naughty and throwing them and to top it off I'm late for work.

Happy fucking Thursday Hmm

mopsytop · 21/05/2015 08:31

Thanks for that tip. Just rang the GPs and booked her in.

Chips1999 · 21/05/2015 08:52

Oh yuck that sounds like a horrible start to the day Figgy!

I may sound like a mean mum but I explain to DS "we need to get ready to leave when the long hand on the clock is pointing at the number 6" and he seems to accept that. If he's tired and doesn't want to get out of bed etc., I give him a chance and try to explain nicely but if he doesn't stop the kicking and screaming I just say sod it and get him dressed whether he wants to or not and if there's no time for breakfast I tell him why, then he can have a banana in the car...like it or lump it as my friends mum used to say! I think as they're getting older they can understand the consequences of being late, I tell him if we are late, Daddy will miss his train and if Daddy misses his train he will be late for work, if Daddy is late for work he will be told off by his manager.

mopsytop · 21/05/2015 18:54

Oh dear figgy Hmm I, too, struggle in the mornings and often end up impatient and cross with minimopsy and then feel awful. I have a feeling mornings are a difficult time of the day for many families...

NorthernChinchilla · 22/05/2015 10:45

Yeah, the varying bribery/enforcement/pleading required.... I know you'll have the same issue figgy in that DS is that solid he's hard to force to do anything. He's in size 10s now Shock lost all of his baby pudge, just that he's the right size for a healthy 5 year old....

Nightmare day yesterday, meant to be coming up North but the car wouldn't start, again. AA got it working, but then DS puked up just before nursery, so at that point DP gave up and went home.
We made it up here, not quite sure how, but could really do with some good luck!!
